This Macintosh version of the easiest-to-use estimation program available gives students practice in estimating statistics using Russell Hurlburt's "eyeball estimation" techniques. For example, ESTAT presents a random series of histograms and asks the student to eyeball-estimate the mean and standard deviation of each; ESTAT presents a random series of scatter diagrams and asks the student to eyeball-estimate the correlation coefficient of each; and ESTAT presents a random series of scatter diagrams and asks the student to eyeball-estimate each best-fitting regression line.
