Rate this book
In Thurbin's eleventh Samantha Duncan mystery, her quirky protaganist is on top form. When Samantha's insurance investigator brother-in-law asks her to consult on a jewellery theft from a prestious Belgavia address, it is not long before the retired Oxford art history professor turned amateur sleuth is on the trail of the culprit. Readers will enjoy accompanying Samantha and her friend Alex as they explore the English countryside and engage in their shared passion for galloping over the moors in Devon before they embark on a somewhat more exotic journey on the Orient Express. As the mystery unfolds, Samantha pieces together the subtle clues that will expose the thief. Thurbin delivers yet another meticulously researched and well crafted tale that will leave Samantha Duncan fans clamouring for more.

Reasonably entertaining.

Yet again wealthy widows go shopping and track down missing expensive jewellery during their holiday. Lots of product placement for Marks and Spencer, Armani, Lalique, Tiffany.......I find the series reasonably entertaining, but I probably won't bother with any more, was just something undemanding to read while I wasn't feeling well.

I like this series because they are easy reads with some art history woven throughout. I would have liked more description of life aboard the Orient Express in this novel.

Samantha Duncan Mystery

I was disappointed the book contained so little about the Orient Express. I've read several in this series and they're entertaining light reads. I like the connection to the Art Deco period.

Very good

This was my favorite one so far. Could have used more details but other than that it was a lot of fun
