**This is a complete story. The Winter Valley Wolves can be read in any order.**
V. Vaughn is also known as Violet Vaughn and is a USA Today Bestselling author. Violet lives on an island in Maine and spends almost every day walking through the woods. She may have seen a bear once or twice....
It was more like a poorly written summary of what the actual full length book was supposed to be about.
I don't know why I keep doing this to myself and reading these awful paranormal werewolf romances; but I suppose I'm holding out for a really good one.
Unfortunately, this book was most definitely not it...
Brindle and Katie. Really short but not sweet. SOoo it all starts in high school when Brindle and Katie fall in love. He changes her to a wolf, in the process mating her, with her permission. But being a wolf isn't all she thought it would be and being so young she gets scared and runs off to college. Brindle, who has been a wolf his whole life, knows she will have to come back sooner or later because they are mates. For some reason the sympathy during the story is always with Brindle. I agreed at first. It seemed pretty cold the way Katie left him. But by the end of the story I felt sorry that Katie was 'stuck' with a man who really didn't seem to want her anymore. It was like he only wanted her because of their mating bond. Not romantic and rather sad. I felt sad and depressed after reading this and that is SOOOO not what I want to feel after reading a book.
Katie may have been in love with the idea of her boyfriend turning her into a werewolf but when the time came she bolted. The only problem was she now was a werewolf without the pack nd rushed off to college far away. Now that she's a wolf she's gone into heat and the only one to satisfy her is her mate who she wants nothing to do with. When Brindle shows up out of the blue to help her through the mating season she didn't realize that she was still in love with him. What will happen when she returns home for the summer? Will they make it work or has he moved on?
I like Katie she's a typical young college girl who when faced with something scary she ran and I understand that. However, she may have been a little selfish but the time away gives her a new lease on life and chance to really figure out what she wanted. I like Brindle even though she's got issues he's willing to do what it takes to make her happy knowing one day they will end up together.
Brindle is a kindle freebie picked it up a while back and decided would be a perfect solution to my werewolf craving. Brindle is a fast paced emotional romance that has just enough steamy moments and story to give you what you need. While it's quick it's just enough for a sweet steamy reading break. I enjoyed the authors writing style she's done a great job creating an exciting shifter world. I look forward to reading more books in the series.
Brindle: Winter Valley Wolves #1 (The Mating Season, #2)
by V. Vaughn
Brindle and Katie fall in love in high school and Katie decides to become a werewolf. Only it isn't what she thought it would be. Not being able to handle it she leaves. Now in college she goes through her first heat. Oh boy, this is even worse then she thought it would be. The only person who can help her....is her mate....Brindle.
Brindle shows up and helps her out, but breaking his heart again, Katie doesn't want a relationship with him. So he leaves. Katie is having second thoughts, well, actually third, fourth, fifth and so on. She is still in love with Brindle, just to stubborn to admit it. By the time she realizes that she wants to be with Brindle, something else pops up and she finds out that he has moved on.
Guess she is going to have to handle things on her own. After all, she is the one that omitted telling him such an important fact.

My Review:
Uh, what? I cannot tell you how much I hated Katie. Still hate her.
Poor Brindle. Why can't he grow a pair and kick her ridiculousness to the curb?
I spent most of this book being pissed off and annoyed to death.
I swear Brindle deserves Katie for being so gullible and Katie deserves a swift kick in the pants.
Cute, enjoyable quick read. The characters are likable and interesting. Katie runs off to college and fails her classes miserably while running from her true mate, Brindle, only to return home to the town and her mate but is she too late? A cautionary tale of being careful what you wish for. On my Were Scale of Hotness, 2.5 stars.
Honestly, this needed to be written more thoroughly. There’s not a lot of world or character building. I could see their backstory becoming a huge hit for YA hopeless romantics.
It’s trashy and cliche, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Ugh - utter drivel, unlikable protagonists, completely irrational behaviours and a complete non-story. So glad I only listened to this on audible romance and could return it easily. There are much better short stories in the mating season series out there.
Not a huge fan of "cheating" between mates. Yeah they technically weren't together at the time but they knew they were fated mates so it still felt like cheating to me.
Never Say Werewolf Again Winter Valley Wolves, Book 1
I Picked Up This Book Because: Judged a book by it’s cover.
The Characters:
Katie Winslow: Brindle Lindholm
The Story:
This was a quick smutty romp through a world of hidden wolves and trying to deny your fate. I listened to it because I wanted something fast and fun and that’s what I got. The steamy sex scenes were a welcomed surprise.
This is a SHORT STORY, but worth reading to the last page. The author’s writing style is captivating and delightful. The characters are quite well developed for a story told in such few pages. The plot is complete and when you finish it you wish it was developed longer, so you could enjoy the characters a little more... Vaughn left me wishing for more! I wanted to know more about the couple and their past, how they met and fell in love... This could turn in an awesome longer book!!!
This story is published in Amazon with an alternative title: NEVER SAY WEREWOLF AGAIN
This is so bad i want to give you a zero but thats not possible, so i give you a one.
Someone tell me how i can bleach my brain and get back the 45 min of my life I wasted on this.
Almost every single character in this book was toxic af and not in a cute morally gray way, in a these-ppl-are-so-selfish-and-immature-it-makes-my-skin-crawl way
Katie and Brindle were high school sweethearts. He’s a werewolf and turned her into a wolf on prom night. Desperate to be normal again, she breaks up with him and runs away to college. During spring semester, it’s mating season and she’s in heat. Brindle shows up at her school to help her get through it but doesn’t expect her to accept him. She later reevaluates her choices and wants to rekindle their relationship. Problem is, he’s moved on to a new she-wolf and Katie is keeping a secret bound to hurt and anger Brindle to the extreme. Though I think Katie stayed frazzled and stressed for too long, I understand why she ran away from the love of her life. She was scared and had no one to talk to, other than her mate who didn’t seem to understand why a human-turned-werewolf would be upset. C’mon, the girl’s 18/19 years old. Give her a break. I didn’t much like Brindle. I did like that he gave her the time she needed to come to terms with what happened and who she is now, but he should’ve accepted her back into his life when she was finally ready. He still loved her and wanted her, but didn’t trust her. He slept with her but didn’t leave his girlfriend. This is totally unacceptable. The time-period for this story takes place throughout the course of several months but the transitions from weeks to months confused me. In one chapter, Katie’s been home for her summer break for like three days and, in the next chapter, it’s fall time. There’s not much information about what happens off the page. The whole story is very well-written and is told in Katie’s 1st person POV. I wish I could’ve seen more of Brindle and got inside his head to know his thoughts and feelings. I might’ve liked him better if I understood him. I downloaded this novella as part of the Lindholm brothers boxed set (Winter Valley Wolves Vol. 1). I liked this story overall and I’m anxious to read the other novellas in the series. 4 Stars

There are a couple of things that go into a good audio; a good story and a good narrator. This book has both. Not only was this an awesome story but Erin DeWard done an amazing job. I love the emotion she put into reading the book. It is what helps pull you into the story. Since I am so picky about audios I actually had listen to the sample before committing to the book. I actually did something a little different with this audio. I used the Whispersync for Voice-enabled. It was so awesome following along with my kindle while listening to Erin DeWard.
Katie Winslow decides to let Brindle Lindholm change her into a werewolf. Problem is after her change she decides it is a mistake. She wants nothing to do with her werewolf state. She keeps pushing Brindle time and time again. Letting him know that she wants nothing to do with him. This has to be like a punch to the gut each time she rejects him. Oh the pain he must of felt.
Katie soon discovers that after she goes in heat that no one can help her with this problem but Brindle. This changes things completely. This causes hurt, love, confusion, and a very important decision that they both must make. Will it be too late for Katie and Brindle?
I am a huge fan of wolf shifter books. Though I read a lot of shifters books these have to be my favorite. If you love shifter books as much as mine then trust me when I say this is a must read. I thoroughly enjoyed this audio.
I was given an ARC of Brindle from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
I have just come up for air after reading Brindle's story, so much information going through my head, for such a short read.
Katie is in heat, after running away from her mate Brindle, not long after she was changed, having to get used to being a wolf & then all her confusion. Nothing can satiate Katie when she's in heat, but Brindle makes a surprise visit, knowing his mate is in pain, but also not knowing if he'll be rejected again.....
I really felt for Katie & Brindle's situation, obviously she needs time to come to terms at being a werewolf, but Brindle is nothing but patient... well until near the end.
Brindle is book 1 in V. Vaughn's "Winter Valley Wolves" series, which in turn is a part of the "Mating Season" pack series. A set of books from 6 authors, 6 different packs & an individuals story on finding their mate. I can't wait to read more from V. Vaughn's "Winter Valley Wolves" & to delve into the other authors work in the "Mating Season" series.
Katie has been in love with Brindle since High School, in fact they were each other’s firsts and thought nothing could come between them. But one night did; when Brindle explained he was a werewolf and that he wanted to be with her forever she agreed to be turned, unfortunately, that decision proved to be hasty and she freaked and ran from home and Brindle to college. Now faced with isolation and the sheer madness of the mating season Katie is forced to confront her choices and decide what she really wants. When Brindle comes to help her with her heat (since he is the only one who can being her mate) she realizes she still loves him but is she too late? When she returns home things become a lot more complicated when she discovers 1. She is pregnant and 2. Brindle has moved on. Katie struggles with her feelings and what to do, she wants Bindle back but she doesn’t want him to only do it for the baby. Very emotional case of young love and the ultimate what if’s life can throw your way! Highly recommend it! **Book received in exchange for honest review**
I actually really struggled at where to rate this story. So I think I will give it 2 stars, but I'd really only give it 1.5 stars.
Both characters in this story are both really immature.
Katie makes a life changing decision on prom night and has her boyfriend change her. But instead of dealing with the outcome of these changes she runs. REALLY?!? Brindle shouldn't of let her make this decision within one night especially if this is the same night he told her about werewolves. When mating season hits he knows Katie is going to need him so he goes. After all is said and done he never once asks her about a baby even though they both know it was likely. Then to make matters worse we have the dating another girl, even when he knows Katie is his true mate and Katie hiding the pregnancy. Just eh. DUH! MATING SEASON + UNPROTECTED SEX = POSSIBLE PREGNANCY!
I'm glad I got this story in a bundle for free. Since my OCD won't allow me to not finish a book I'll try the second book. Hopefully the characters are more mature.
5.0 out of 5 stars Katie & Brindle - Book 1 - Winter Valley Wolves,

This review is from: Brindle: Winter Valley Wolves #1 (Kindle Edition)
It's not easy accepting the realities of being a werewolf. At least that's Katie's experience. It takes her a year away at college to realize how much she needs and loves Brindle, the werewolf who turned her in high school. As Katie struggles through her first mating season, Brindle appears just when she needs him the most. They find their way back to each other in a story of patience and acceptance as a young couple mature into their destiny as true mates. I enjoyed this short book knowing there's more coming and I'm anxious for more sweet but sreamy romance in the Winter Valley Wolves storyline. It's a winner!
High School Sweathearts, Brindle and Katie vow to love each other always. When Katie learns that Brindle is a wolf shifter and her life mate she asks him to turn her, but when he does she freaks out and leaves him. Heartbroken Brindle lets her go but when her heat cycle starts he goes to help her even at the risk of being rejected again. Katie wants so desperately to be with Brindle but doesn't know if she can be part of his pack. This is a coming of age story where two young people must grow up if they want to be able to be together forever as they vowed to do.
I received a copy of this book for a honest review....

Kindle Unlimited book. She goes away to college after being turned by her fiancé. When the mating heat comes on, he's the only one who can make her feel better. When she decides to return home to claim him, he's moved on. Can she prove to him that she want he wants?
This is about Katie and Brindle. He is a werewolf and she was his human girlfriend. On the night of their prom he turned her. She got scared and went away to college. She needs him but keeps turning him away. This is a short read. With a HEA ending. WILL be looking at the other stories by V. Vaughn.
There wasn't much back story but you don't really need it. She wanted him, He turned her. She freaked out and ran. Then she needed him, he came to her.
Then she pushed him away again.
Then she went home to be with him only he was with someone else.. Then things happened and he got upset. Its a great little fast read I won't say anything else but this..
Katie is running from her past or at least trying too. She can't even get any satisfaction from simple sex with someone else other than her supposed mate. How will she last her term in college. What will happen now that her suppose mate is in area. Will she run or will she accept it finally???
