Jewel Parker has been blessed with a career she loves, children she adores, and family that drives her crazy in all the ways she can’t live without. Somehow, though, even that isn’t enough to make her truly happy.
Two failed marriages–one amicable, the other an unnatural disaster–have convinced her that love simply isn’t in the cards. She’s content caring for her patients and her family, but there’s a quiet longing inside her for someone strong enough to take care of her too.
When she meets a man who isn’t afraid to snap back when she’s snarky, Jewel is certain there’s no future between them. A second chance encounter shows her how much his presence could change her life for the better, but she still isn’t convinced and bolts before he can try.
Luckily, he’s just as stubborn as she is and more than willing to move heaven and earth to show her how incredible their life together could be.
Join Cee Bowerman back in Rojo, Texas, as she tells the story of Jewel Parker, a woman we’ve all watched grow up, discovering that the man of her dreams does exist . . . and he’s every bit as hard-headed as she is.
4.4 stars. Ugh. I love Jewel with Ziggy. I didn’t love that Ziggy’s whole anxiety problem completely disappeared after the first few chapters though….🧐that’s weird. That’s suspicious. lol. The banter, the jokes, the insults, the protective violence, all the things that make me come back to Cee every time were all present. So 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll be back for that, as usual.
I've absolutely loved every single book by this incredibly talented author, and this one was certainly no exception. I haven't laughed so much in a long time!
Thank you Mrs. Bowerman for sharing your incredible stories, and CONGRATULATIONS on releasing your 100th book!! I truly didn't realize that there were so many, but I can honestly say that each and every one is definitely special to me. Your books have helped me through so many heartbreaking, devastating, and tragic situations, as well as reminded me that humor (weather dark or not) really does help make life a little better. Thank you again for sharing your amazing stories and talents with us readers.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
I would also highly recommend reading all of this author's books and series!
This is Cee's 100th book release and we get Jewel's story.
I was surprised on who the MMC was but they were absolutely perfect for each other. The banter from the start did not change throughout the book and the romantic progression, which im glad about, it was so funny. Getting to see what the predictions were for Jewel when she grew up were eye opening.. i really want to be in Cee's head for an hour, how does she come up with some of these ideas. Brilliant book and even better characters. Cant wait to see what's next.
Readers of this author have been eagerly awaiting the story of Jewel and finding out exactly which man was crazy enough to not only date her but fall in love with her and Ziggy is that man. The banter between these two is off the charts hilarious, The chapter headings in this book are just as good as the story. It takes a strong, confident man with thick skin to put up with Jewel’s brand of snark and sass. The gangs all here for this one especially when dealing with one of Jewel’s ex husbands and we see more of the funny banter between all the girls, Jewel’s kids and Ziggy’s kids are here too. I loved this book so much, Cee hit this one out of the park.❤️🖤
Finally, Jewel!! I have been waiting for her book for what feels like forever, and it absolutely did not disappoint! Ziggy as her person may not have been the pairing I initially expected, but wow, do these two work so incredibly well together in every way.
This book hits all the feels, but the sarcasm and banter between Ziggy and Jewel are hands-down my favorite part. Their chemistry is everything! This is definitely a must-read!
And I cannot wait to see what comes next with this new rugby adventure!
There was a lot of crazy going on in this one, which made for fun reading, but not sure I would have liked to live it. I especially loved the bit at each chapter, where characters talked about Jewel when she was a kid and what she would be like as an adult.
For all the crazy, I thought Ziggy and his people, did a great job of fitting in and helping with the crazy. I really loved how Ziggy dealt with the bad ex and how he treated Jewel's kids. The bit at the end with the new house and celebration was perfect for these 2, a way to start a new life together with out a drawn out affair.
Wow. . .I love all the ups and downs and then more ups throughout this book. The personalities clashes for this duo was beyond excellent. They started off being abrasive to one another and ended it the same way. Cee you did it again and I love the fact when I read the latest version we get so involved that I cannot put it down. I was literally falling asleep but didn't want to stop reading I'm addicted girl. Job well done. Now I'm going back to read Grunt to relive the experiences of when Grunt met Shannon. You see addicted.
Wow, I can't believe how everyone in Rojo has gotten on and we get updates on almost all the main characters. This had me laughing hard and loving every minute of my visit. Bowerman has the skill and magic that she brings to her beloved characters making this one extra special. Of course, we have a fellow new characters and Ziggy Romano does not disappoint. He is the perfect match for our girl, Jewel. I'm so happy she gets her HEA. I give this story five stars and would highly recommend it to all. Romance still blooms in Rojo, Texas. Peace out.
I love Rojo and truly wished it was a real place that I could live in. These characters are amazing. Jewel has always been one of my favorites and so relatable. Jewel and Ziggy are so suited for each other. I loved the interactions with the families. Loved that Papa Smokey got to play a part in this telling, I have missed him. Hank and Grunt are always good for a laugh. I can't wait for the rest of Jewels siblings to find their one.
Thanks Cee for not rushing this and finding the right words to show the world how fantastic found family can be.
Book # 100 for Cee! and what a way to do it....Jewel. We have all speculated and waited to see who would be brave enough to take her on and fall in love with her. All her snark and sass is one for the record books. I love Ziggy for her, their banter had me rolling. I made the mistake of eating dinner while reading and well Koda was mentioned...LOL. Their kids are just as snarky as their parents. Keep them coming Cee and I'll keep reading!
Yes. Just yes. I could never envision how Jewel’s love story would go. This was better than I could have ever imagined. I love this for both Ziggy and Jewel. I love the way these two worlds are connecting even more. The notes at the start of every chapter were amazing. I wondered if we would ever get those. Of course Martha and Thorn had the best ones! Although really, everyone has Jewel pegged. I finished this one with a smile on my face.
I knew Jewels book would have to be awesome and the author didn't disappoint. This book is filled with sarcastic banter and kept me laughing and crying . For Ziggy, a new York mobster , and Jewel its lust at first sight. Their journey to the alter is full of sarcasm, witty conversation , and love. If you haven't experienced this author before I would happily recommend that you go back and read her books according to the reading order she has listed. ...
Well I wasn't expecting this but I sure had a blast reading it! Ms Bowerman continually surprises me with how wonderful her mind works. New Yorker mobster Ziggy meets Texan sarcastic, funny, brilliant Jewel. I fell in love with Jewel in Grunt's book. Everyone should read Cee Bowerman's books... you'll laugh, cry, laugh some more and yell from the rooftops that everyone should embrace the joy her books bring!!
I’ve read every book in this series and associated series and I still can’t get all the family trees down but either way I feel like I’ve known them all for years and I’ll run into Martha at the store. This was fast-paced, hilarious and so very sweet. Definitely did Jewel justice. Yes you can read as a stand alone but I feel you’d miss out on the truth depth of their characters. Loved Lout and Grunt in this. Chef’s kiss Cee.
Big surprises in this one. Did not expect this pairing or how well they meshed together. Learned more about Jewel and love her brand of snark - she’s the bomb!! Ziggy was a big surprise too but oh so sexy but vulnerable. Great 100th book for Cee Bowerman. Loved it!! ❤️❤️
I had a feeling it would be ziggy! We finally got everyone’s guess and loved how Cee used them a chapter titles. The chemistry when they 1st met i hoped there would be something more there and let’s be fair we all knew that a Man for Jewel had to have thick skin! And Frankie certainly gave him that. Fantastic read as per usual.
I recommend you not read this if you're suffering from any type of cough. I laughed so hard the I thought I'd die from having a coughing fit This was absolutely amazing and I loved it from the first page. This one was completely out of left field and I didn't expect these 2 to get together at all but they're perfect together!!!! Cee you are amazing
There are just some books that make you wish you could give it more than five stars. This is one. Everything was just perfect. From finally getting to see what people believed Jewel would be when she grew up, to the sarcasm, and finally to the love shared between these two. The only negative is that it had to end.
Just like every book cee writes it has amazing characters we love and get to catch up with. Lots of romance lota of great Dialog with people you would want to be part of that kind of family. I would love to live in Rojo. I have loved all the 4 family stories. And love that she joined then2 together.this is a other awesome read.
I LOVE.ALL THE BANTER AND COMMENTS BETWEEN THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS. I ALSO LOVE ALL THE CRAZINESS AND CONFUSION FROM ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS ALSO AND EVEN IN THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS YOU FEEL THE LOVE. I CAN'T WAIT FOR EVER NEW BOOK CEECEE PUTS OUT! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE SERIES AND CHARACTERS. THEY BRING ME A LOT OF JOY!
This story is so smooth. It just flowed from start to finish. Ziggy and Jewel were so interesting and cause for laughter and tears. Thank you for another great chapter to the never ending stories.
Love coming home to Rojo. It was amazing love the family and the fact you united another strong family. Cannot wait for your next book. Thank you for that great mind of yours.
Great book as always. Ziggy and Jewel met at Bella's wedding and quickly clicked Their journey makes you smile and cheer. All the originals make a appearance and the children they all had. Once you start this book it is hard to put down so enjoy.
Cee never disappoints! Ziggy and Jewel are perfect for each other. I laughed I cried, I snorted and laughed some more! I devoured their book and now I’m sad cause it’s over and I have to wait for more!
The nod to Grunt and Shannon's love story was perfect. Oh it took me back. I love that you don't shy away from serious topics. Robert abusing his son was awful to hear, but the way you addressed it was kick ass.
This book has the most witty and comical situations where people actually say what you think in your head but never express. It is full of great characters and funny interactions. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
I am not someone who usually writes a review but this has to be one of my favorite Cee Bowerman book yet!! And Ziggy has joined the ranks of Kale, Smokey and Grunt!
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved this visit with family. Jewel is everything I wish I could be. The things she comes out with are amazing. That Ziggy gets her is like a fairytale. I think I’m going to have to read it again, like now.
