The Wanderer
Episode one of The Silverleaf Chronicles follows the life of Silverleaf, a dragonmaster who was born into a world without dragons, and doomed to die as a madman alone in the wilderness until a young woman enters his life, and a mysterious army marches across the land destroying all in its path.

I enjoyed this novella because it's very much like fantasy RPGs I play, Dungeon Siege and Oblivion. A wanderer comes to a town in a wooded area and settles in as a smith, sharpening everyone's knives, tools and weapons. He gets to know some of the townsfolk. Then an invasion force arrives with magical powers and seemingly animated golem fighters. The townsfolk are fleeing or fighting, including the tavern wench who demonstrates a skill the smith hadn't seen previously.
As this book is just the setup for a series based on this conflict, don't expect more than a temporary resolution. Look out for a good writing style, casual reference to other races including woods folks, and a man born from a line of dragon masters - but there are no dragons left in the world. The effect this has on him could be a metaphor for mental illness like schizophrenia or manic depression.
I would be interested in reading more of the series, but if the rest are all this short it could end up being annoying. At least there wasn't a cliffhanger.

This is the first part in a series of stories. A series I will continue and am positive I will enjoy (no doubts) Think of it sort of like watching your favorite TV show once each week. This gives you a full "episode" of background, character building, plot,, etc. Although this ended with a mild cliffhanger you should be prepared for that seeing "Book 1" in the title. See? Just like watching you favorite TV show...what will happen next??!!??
This book is for anyone who enjoys fantasy, epic fantasy, magic, dragons, elves, fairies, etc.

Eh
Ok, so the only reason this book is getting 3 stars instead of 2 is because I do plan on reading the next one. I just found it kind of...eh. A lot of it isn't showing so much as telling. I feel like the author skips over moments that could have really developed the characters and given a lot more depth to the story. But there are some glimmers of hope (the detail the author sometimes goes into, the intriguing invaders, the dragon master arch, etc) so series might redeem itself, and I'll give the next book a shot.

I loved the book. I read The Storymaster in Dragon Chronicles and wanted to know more about Silverleaf and I'm excited to know more about what more happens and how everything goes in Silverleaf Chronicles and can't wait to read other episodes in the series. This is the first one and I thought the first book in the series would start after where it left in The Storymaster, but it didn't. But I don't mind, I know in future books it will be revealed.
I loved the vivid description by author Mr. Trigili especially when Silverleaf went into madman phase, lol it was a little funny for me. It was like I was inside the book and when it ended I came out of it and I was like turning the pages to make sure there wasn't more. A really nice read! Can't wait till all the episodes are out to read.

Wow!!! I got an advanced copy for an honest review. It was only about 70 pages so I decided to knock it out. I've read many new authors and found most somewhat lacking in depth or story line. This book was FANTASTIC!!! I've been in a book slump for 6 months and this is the first to capture my interest. I will not give details of the book as I think that gives too much away. It was like sipping on fine scotch (or another fine spirit) that drew me in with a mellow flavor and got better with each sip! After completing it, I find myself looking forward to finding out more. My interest is peaked and I find myself imagining my own self within the story and time period of this outstanding book. Drew me in and left me longing for more....

'The Wanderer' is an extremely enticing book that drags you in from page one. Silverleaf and Kaylissa are both well-developed characters and I can't wait to see where the story takes them. Even though I am not a fan of short books there is no way I could just stop with this season. I definitely can't wait to read all seven episodes in The Dragon masters' series. Trigili has layed out a new and exciting world that I can't wait to explore with every additional season!

I got an Arc of this for my honest review so here goes!! I loved this book and as I have an abhorrence of poor writing- I can honestly say that I had no complaints. It was very well written and I loved the storyline. I can't wait to see what happens as the story develops and I will definitely read the next episodes!!This is my first book by Vincent but it will not be my last.It is so nice to read a good clean story that is actually well written. I would recommend!!

I recieved a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I loved the book and its writer's captivating style. The pace is fast and keeps you glued to the book. Can't skip reading even one sentence, which I sometimes do in boring books, since every word adds to the plot. Can't wait to read the next chapter.

I greatly enjoyed reading this episode! I haven't read any other books by this author, but I know now that I definitely will! I am sad that since it was so short, only 70 pages or so, that I will have to wait for the next part of the story!! Hopefully they will come out quickly!! I like the post apocalyptic/sci-fi feel of this story!

I’ve had this story hanging around my Kindle for years now so I finally decided to pick it up.
It was a good, not great, story. The best way I could describe this story would be not enough. There wasn’t enough character development, world building, plot or action. The only thing I thought was fully developed was the world building.
My favorite part was the world building as I loved the lore, the town and the world outside the town. I got to learn what happened to the dragons and why.
The characters were okay but the MC wasn’t fleshed out enough. I found too many of his actions and motives were just chalked down to him being a dragonmaster without a dragon. A character can have more than one defining trait.
The plot was good but there wasn’t enough action. It felt like some major plot points were missed or glossed over. I wish the author would have gone more into those points so I could have gotten more invested in the characters.
I plan to finish the series as I already own it. Would suggest this ebook to anyone who loves dragon fiction.

I'm going to be honest, I only got about 22% in before I just could not read this book anymore. I was trying to tell myself to give it a chance, maybe it would pick up, but I was just so bored and so fed up with the amateurish writing; I really disliked the author's voice and I didn't care about Silverleaf as a character. I thought The Storymaster was only okay, but it was very short, so I expected the followup to be better. I expected Silverleaf to be an awesome character that I would love. The premise is okay, but the way the narrative was presented was just a mess. So many details seemed left out, glossed over, the parts I read seemed rushed. Like the thing about the wolves? I'd really have liked to know more about that, it seems really interesting---but it was just thrown casually into the narrative with no explanation and no detail. The story just fell short for me. Maybe one day I'll pick it back up again, give it another chance.

A great first episode, and a fun read. As a mysterious wanderer comes into town and sets up as a blacksmith, an invading force begins to attack the area. Silverleaf is an elf with a secret. Will his secret be salvation or destruction? This story is the beginning of what can only be an epic fantasy adventure. The characters are solid and the plot moved along quickly. Looking forward to more from this series and this author.

Cliffhanged
It took me a long time to finish Silverleaf Book 1 because I had little interest in finishing when I suspected I would be dissatisfied. It was worse than I expected. It is definitely not standalone. As frustrating as that is, I am not bound enough by either characters or plot to want to get tied up in another episode.

Vincent is one heck of a storyteller. And he was right there all the time! I'm so very pleased to have found him. If you like stories of fantasy and intrigue, set in a world with Forest People and dragons, you truly will enjoy his work!

The Wanderer (Silverleaf Chronicles 1) is the first book in an upcoming series, and I will definitely be reading all of them. It reminds me of the Dragonlands books by Megg Jensen although the style is more politically correct :) I loved that the reader is tossed in not knowing much about what is going on. Unlike some other recent books I have read, which seemed to be OCR'd, the proofreading has been done really well. The flow of text is engaging; the story enjoyable; historical details are vividly described. The last mentioned reminds me of Octavia Randolph's The Circle of Ceridwen Saga.
I have also read The Enemy of an Enemy by the same author. Both books share a fast tempo and the characters have a rational attitude to their doings, even though the world has many fantasy elements. It brings a strong presence to the reading experience. I can't wait to read the next part of this promising series.

I have not read any of this authors previous work so I don't know the characters as another reviewer pointed out were in other books. With that said I feel like I got to know Silverleaf the main character and a little bit of Kaylissa in this brief episode without having to read the other stories. I like the story line & where it's going, it does seem familiar but can't put my finger on it. I did enjoy the story & would continue them. The only problem I had & is the reason I gave it a 3 star instead of 4 is...it's so short. Yes I know they are episodes but for me it's like I am being read the story at bedtime & it's now time for bed so we close the book! If you are like me you may want to wait until all the "episodes" are out and read them all together!

I’m a sucker for dragon stories, even dragon stories that don’t have dragons in them. I’ve learned to be selective, though, because all fantasy is definitely not created equal. But when I find any fantasy book that’s free, I’ll grab it. In this case, I’m very glad that I did. I loved everything about this one – characters, setting, back-story, and writing style.
Someday I hope to recognize the magic ingredient that causes me to be hooked right from the first page of a story. I know a great book when I find one, although I can’t explain how I know it. I do know that I’ll be reading every installment of this series. With or without dragons.
If you enjoy fantasy, you should check this out. You won’t be disappointed.

Such a wonderful story! I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I picked up this story... It is awesome. I love Dragons and obviously Dragonriders. But here is a story where, due to War all the Dragons are dead! A Dragon master/rider who has not bonded to a Dragon eventually goes crazy! It's maybe like being a sheath without a sword! A very dangerous one indeed. And Silverleaf is just that man, holding on to his sanity by the bearest of threads. He is a wanderer never setting any roots down. Afraid of himself and what he's libel to do if he loses it. It looks like I'm going to need to pay attention to this author!!!

I have read a few booksby Vincent and loved the complex deep story lines. This book was too short for me. It left me hanging on and wanting so much more! I love the development of the character relationships, and the scenery. The book is written with such details that I can close my eyes and imagine the world around me has changed. I cannot wait until the next book is releasednto find out what the aliens are, who is controlling the players, where the tree people are able to hide, and if there are any buried secrets in the ruins.

Such a beautiful story makes you wish that the dragons still lived you keep thinking that maybe there would be one no one should miss out I'm ready to start the next one, eager to find out what happens everyone can enjoy this story, Young adults and adults as well

June 7, 2015This is the start of a series that will interest both young and the young at heart. I am always interested in tales of determination and conquest [self]. I highly recommend Storymaster in Dragon Chronicles which is the prequel to the series. This is fast moving adventure set in a post-dragon society. I had the pleasure of being a pre-reader, looking forward to the next chapter in the series.

Great read!
I love the episodic format! It gives a quick, fun and adventurous read that anyone can enjoy to kill 40 minutes!
As for my thoughts on the tale, it was a great ride albeit a fast one, but intriguing nonetheless. Book 2 will be devoured as well, whenever I get the chance to kill an hour!

What a great beginning to a complex and exciting story. The story is imaginative and as I said complex, but yet, not confusing or irritating. I liked the idea of his purpose without it being shoved down your throat. Very cool - cannot wait to go on from here!

Silverleaf. I like it. An interesting story, made more so by the psychological factors: natural feelings and thoughts in a fantasy setting. It's a gentle story, even though we have those hordes of fierce unnatural enemies. We also have unexpected hidden heroes. I'm hooked :). What happens next?

The Wanderer
I just finished reading the first book in this series. I am now hooked and desire to finish them all. This was well written and flowed smoothly from beginning to end. I highly recommended this book to anyone whom loves fantasy.
