If you're looking to understand why some people succeed while others fail to perform under pressure, "Getting Into the Zone" offers a good introductory discussion of why and how this happens. In chapters 3 and 4, author Kate Allgood even provides an overview of several mental techniques--active awareness, positive rituals, attentional skills, energy management, and imagery--that you can use to elevate yourself to the next level. But don't think this book is just for athletes. Allgood makes it clear that these same techniques work equally well at work and in other areas of your life. If mental hurdles are keeping you from getting where you want to be in the sports, business or domestic arenas, or all three, this book offers suggestions to help you get there.
