Callan 'Cal' Straker #5
Ransom Tide
A hijacked tanker. A failed rescue. A coastline where nobody is coming to help.
Callan Straker is sent to the Somali coast to secure proof of life from the crew of the British-chartered tanker Harrowgate. The rendezvous is an ambush. His team is scattered, and Straker is taken alive.
His captors appear to want a ransom. The truth is far worse.
The Harrowgate is carrying enough fuel to cripple the region’s only functioning aid terminal. At the next high tide, the tanker will be driven into the berth, destroying the port and cutting off supplies to thousands of people.
Beaten, barefoot and hunted across hostile ground, Straker must escape, recover the ship’s missing chief engineer and find a way back aboard. The men controlling the tanker know the coast, hold the crew and have prepared for every official response.
They haven’t prepared for Straker.
But the tide is already coming in.
Ransom Tide is Book Five in The Cut, the hard-edged British black-operations thriller series from Geordie Jackson. It can be read as a standalone adventure.
