Fantastic Storytelling

I've come to enjoy this author's dry humour and wonderful use of words to paint a picture of fantastical creatures and places, but this series warms my heart in the way the others do not.

Brandt the Stone Dwarf is a blend of curmudgeon and warm-hearted who thinks he's a loner but somehow ends up with a household of individuals as unique as he is.

His adventures through the digital world of Jadewylld are humorous and gripping. His journey into The Depths from the entry in his backyard fuels his growth as he mines for the resources needed for his true passion, his blacksmithing.

Brandt's success, however, seems to have attracted the attention of the ruling powers of the Kingdom. Moving away from his Mountain to protect his friends he journeys to the heart of power and takes on criminals and corporate raiders alike.

I heartily recommend this latest addition to this series. I can't wait for the next one!

Loved It

This was even better than the first book. Brandt, Teddy, and Thea , along with Saki made a wonderful found family. The author made a very smart decision in making Sali a friend/family member instead of trying to make it a into a love relationship between Brandt and Saki. I love how they play off of each other like almost a deep sibling bound that's forming. Even the companions, Teddy and Thea are included in the deepening of bonds and in the fights of the family; some of which that had me laughing out loud. I can't wait for book 3 to see what they will name the baby dragon and who is the Dwarf asking questions.

I don't know when people started thinking the trope of doing nothing while enemies keep trying to take you down was entertaining. It's boring and usually quite obvious. This book is no exception.
