Fast Cars Quarter-miles Broken homes Vulnerable hearts
Cash Montgomery likes fast cars, fast women, and living his life only as far as he can see with his own two eyes. There are very few people in his life who he answers to. One of them being his little brother Remington (Remy).
When Cash and Remy are forced to make a life-changing decision they no longer have a place to live, no idea where their next meal is going to come from, or any prospects as to how they will make it. They need help.
That help comes in the form of the Heaven Hill MC and Harper Stillwell.
Harper Stillwell comes with her own set of problems, but when she and Cash Montgomery meet, sparks fly.
None of them know what they’re doing, where they will end up, or how they’ll get there. The only thing they know is that the race for their lives is only beginning—the flag is waving—and they have to hang on for the ride.
*****This is a trilogy & the story ends on a small cliff-hanger. Books 2 & 3 of the trilogy will be out in July & August!*****

TITLE: Flagger SERIES: Red Bird Trail Trilogy #1 AUTHOR: Laramie Briscoe GENRE: Contemporary Romance EXPECTED PUBLICATION: June 13th, 2015
This is the first time I will be reading anything from this author so I don't have any expectations, freaking love the synopsis though, my kind of read..
Fast Cars Broken homes Heaven Hill MC*gasps*BIKERS*sigh*
Can not wait to sink my teeth into this, the reviews for this are INSANE!!
This was so freaking good, unique story, fast paced, easy to read, inhaled this, loved it..could not put this down..ticked so many boxes for me, non Virgin, hot male, street racer, connected with both characters, the list goes on..There wasn't really alot of angst or emotional turmoil within the book and that's what made it seem more real, something you could imagine some dealing with on a day to day basis and that is why I enjoyed this as much as I did..
At twenty - one Cash Montgomery is the main breadwinner in their household, his racing money helps towards taking care of his little brother who is severely asthmatic, with doctors visits, the medications, hospital stays, Cash has to race to bring in the winnings..
I'm just a guy trying to do what's best for his family.
“Who is that?” Harper asked her friend as she nodded towards the car. “Cash Montgomery.” Natalie sighed "There’s nothing sexier than his face when he’s ready to race that quarter mile. He gets this intense look, and to be honest, I can’t help but wonder if that’s the way he looks when he’s fucking. I would love to find out. It’s why all these women come to the Trail. They want to see the intensity of this guy.” “He’s staring at you.” Nat smacked her on the shoulder “Who?” “Cash Montgomery. He’s looking at you like you’re naked and writhing beneath him while he gives you the pounding of your life.” “You’ve been reading too many romance novels. The pounding of my life? “That guy is walking sex, and he’s looking at you like you’re an ice cream cone he wants to lick up,”
As soon as you open that first page you get hooked on the story line, so easy to get lost within the pages, what female doesn't love a hot bad boy racer!! And this guy definitely sounds hot..
She wasn't his normal, his normal was usually thin, had huge tits, and small hips..This girl..Was built like a brickhouse. She was strong, her ass was high and tight, and she looked like she could handle the headboard banging against the wall for more than two minutes..
Hot Damn Laramie! What are you doing to me? You know a book is good and a book boyfriend is so delicious he blows your favorite book boyfriend by that author right our of the water. Yep. You heard me right. Move over Reaper and make room for Cash! I don't want to go into details about the story as you need to experience it for yourself but I will tell you it is an amazing story! Harper and Cash lean on each other in a way that is out of necessity and it is so raw and real, the fruition of their relationship. The characters are all so loveable and you just want to reach into the pages of your kindle and hug them....hard! The sexy times are so damn hot! You will fall in love with Cash from the first page and Harper will capture your heart as well. The writing is this book is captivating and the plot line interesting. I would say this is Laramie's best book to date and I have read them all! I cannot wait until the next book! Review for FMR book grind
This right her is a must read from Laramie Briscoe it is to ally different than her other stuff and sucked me in right away!!
When I first met Cash it was in a Heaven Hill book and honestly I thought he was going to end up with one of the characters from that series, but it didn't happen and I am so freaking happy Laramie gave this handsome man his own book and series!!
I fell so in love with Cash and man oh man did I feel as if I was having an affair on my book Husband Jagger who by the way is another Laramie character!! Cash is so much different than what I expects and I just couldn't get enough of it!!
Than there was his brother Remy gah what seriously he is another hot pants whom is the total opposite of his brother, but there was something about him I adored him as well.
Than comes along Harper seriously she is so freaking adorable I just loved her face!! She is the perfect match for Cash yes baby yes!! =)
The end left me wanting the second book NOW thank gosh it is right around the corner...Laramie really showed a whole other side to her writing and it is perfect I loved this breath of fresh air it actually got me out of my book rut!!
I will be the first to admit, I don't like cliffhangers and I don't like to let a story drag into multiple books. I like my happy endings and I like to move on. I read relatively fast and so I get through as many books as I can afford (and sometimes can't afford ^.^). The exception to my rule seems to be Laramie Briscoe though, because I just devour all her books!
This book doesn't resolve at the end, so be warned of that. However, just sit back and enjoy the show. My only complaint is that it wasn't a full length novel, finished. I understand the process and that it takes a lot of time, energy and skill to write the books that I devour way too quickly so it's not even a real complaint.
I love the characters, Cash is young but has a heap of responsibility on his shoulders that not a lot of people his age can relate to. Unless you're Harper of course, and have a lot of heavy issues to deal with also. Cash because of his mother's addiction issues and his brother's illness, and Harper because of the lingering threat of her convict father. These two meet each other at a time when they need the security of someone, anyone who understands just a bit of what they are both going through. On top of all that we get our Heaven Hill MC guys making cameos as older brother types to Cash.
I can't wait until the next part comes out! Actually, I can... because I have to. haha!
Laramie Briscoe has another hot series on her hands! I can not tell you how much I loved reading this book, once I finished I wanted to re-read it just in case I missed anything. Cash and Harper's relationship is born out of a fight or flight situation, both desperately need a change and they find it in each other. Cash's outside appearance is a tough, fast-paced womanizer but his personal life is in shambles. Harper's past has washed back up and is forcing her to make decisions, she never thought she would have to. They are learning to become a true partner to each other in the relationship while heating the sheets up! There are so many great things in this novel, I don't want to list any for fear of giving it away...read it, it's a great start to a new series and you get to visit the HH guys!
If you like fast paced cars, men and chemistry between couples, this is the novel for you. However, Harper and Cash's story does not end here we have to wait and see what Laramie has in story for them in the next installment. I can not wait to see what happens with Cash and Harper in the next novel.
Laramie Briscoe you've come a long way! I reviewed Heaven Hill #1 on Amazon several years ago. It wasn't a glowing review. It was an honest one and I honestly knew then that you would progress as a writer getting better as you went. I've ready almost everything you've written. I have catch up on the HH crowd. With that being, said I'm a THRILLED lady to know you continue to grow as an author and glad I get to watch it. You've got talent!
Good pacing! Good character development and dialogue! I'm slightly disappointed that Cash and Harper's story didn't wrap up but I think maybe it's too big of a tale to fit in one book which is understandable and a-ok. I don't do spoilers in my reviews. I will say I look forward to the turmoil I suspect your going to put Cash and Harper through in the next installment. The tale of Cash and Harper starts in Flagger and both have familial issues in their past. They come together as friends with benefits but they evolve into more... The evolution will be fun to read about as this series continues.
Loved this new series! Cash is totally awesome! Loved Harper too! Cash has so much responsibility and acts older than his years. He's protective and caring of his younger brother who is asthmatic. Cash has to help provide for his family because his mother isn't always the best mother. He has close ties to the Heaven Hill MC and they look out for him! Cash is a sexy good looking racer! He does street racing to win money to help with his brother's medical needs. Harper has a bad past too and she is trying to put the bad memories behind her. They are drawn to each other and circumstances have thrown them together! I can't wait to read this whole series! Laramie keeps you involved and wanting to more, plus she gives us plenty of sexy! Loved the glimpses of all our favorite Heaven Hill guys!!
Holy smokes! I love everything Laramie ever writes. She's a fantastic author and I keep thinking "she can't write anything better than this." She keeps proving me wrong. I don't like to run the risk of spoiling you so I try to be as vague as possible in my reviews. Keep your eyes peeled for some familiar faces and places if you're a fan of the Heaven Hill series. Remember that's how you met Cash. Now you're going to meet some new people and you'll love them too. The character's Laramie shares are so fleshed out you feel like you could meet them for coffee. Cash and Harper have some pretty serious chemistry and are definitely two halves of a whole but be warned, this is not all of the story as it's a trilogy and you'll get a story each month!
This book was great from the beginning to the end ... Cash is the most down to earth 21 year I have ever met he has more responsibilities than most young people and he take it with strides like no one else! In walks Harper to his life and everything changes I cant wait to find out more :)
In Flagger you get to meet a young man named Cash and a young lady named Harper. Cash loves his fast cars and thinks the only thing that can calm him is racing, until he meets Harper. For some reason she can also clam him, but it's a different calm than what he gets from racing. She some how grounds him when he his world is spinning out of control. These two sweet character go on a wild ride in Flagger. You will fall in love with Cash and Harper, and will be wanting more at the end! You also get to see a little of Heaven Hill MC (for all you HH MC lovers) in this wonderful Trilogy. I am so excited about this Trilogy and can't wait to see where Author Laramie Briscoe takes this series.
Laramie, great job on yet another book! Loved it and can't wait for the next book!
I have wanted to know more about Cash’s back story since he was first introduced in the Heaven Hill series and it definitely did not disappoint. I generally like books that tell a complete story start to finish, but due to the complexity of both of their situations I can see why Cash and Harper’s story needs to be told in more than one book. While Harper’s situation was touched upon I hope to learn more about her back story in the next book. I have completely fallen in love with Cash and Harper and cannot wait to see where their story leads. I am not a fan of cliffhangers, but Laramie did an excellent job of not leaving you hanging or unhappy with how things ended.
OMG!! LARAMIE BEST WORK YET!!! I love Laramie work. I never thought that she could TOP tyler from the Heaven Hill series as far as Her leading men but Cash has stolen that top spot for me. I love how you get this image built up in your head of what Cash should be but he blows that image out of the water by being this guy that is struggling to raise his little brother that has health problems while dealing with a mother that doesn't seem to want to help herself. this book will have you begging her for the next one which luckily for us we won't have to wait long. I can't even tell you how much this book has quickly became one of my top favorites of 2015!!!
This was a very HOT book!! I really enjoyed reading it and it never got boring for one second. The story line pulled in the Heaven Hill MC and developed into a great story of struggle and compromise between two struggling people and their need to live life on their own terms. She has written this book so well and some great steamy love love scenes turned up the heat factor, as well!! Great book, can't wait for #2! Very much worth reading and I can ay this for ALL of Laramie Briscoe's books!!! This is a totally honest review. I do not have any cons to this story...maybe a little longer book, but it leaves open the storyline for books to follow!! ~Christine
Absolutely LOVED this book. It tore at my heart, warmed my heart and just made me fell everything! There is no way you could not fall in love with Cash, Harper and, of course, Remy. This is a great book and I was provided an ARC for an honest review...there is nothing more honest then telling everyone what a wonderful book this is and what a wonderful trilogy this will be!!!
Awesome Book!! I loved the first Story of Cash! I think this gonna be one hell of a series! I cant wait to read more of Cash. I can see big things happening with Cash and His woman and His brother. I know you will just love cash as much as the rest of do!! Please read this book!! You will love it!!!!! I read this book in one setting it was so good!!!!
Flagger is the first book of Laramie Briscoe's new series and once again she does not disappoint. Laramie has a talent for creating characters that appear shallow on the outside but have so much depth that you are drawn into their story. Be warned that Cash and Harper's story is not resolved at the end of the story...but it just makes you eager for more like Laramie's books always do.
OMG!!!!! Love Harper and Cash. I received the book for an honest review and i must say. This is one of my favorites. Laramie does it again with this one. If you havent read any of her books you really should she draws you in with her characters. Love that she also bring our MC guys into the book.
**Reviewers note: This review encompasses the three books in Ms. Briscoe's Red Bird Trilogy: Flagger, Collision, and In Tune. This author contacted me to review this trilogy knowing that I enjoyed her other work but gave me the heads up that the first two books in this trilogy ended in somewhat of a cliffhanger type ending and because she and I are Facebook friends she knew how I felt about that and made sure I understood that and in the end I made the decision to wait until all three books were out before reading this trilogy. I will say that I probably would have been fine reading them as they released as the cliffhangers were not too bad and the fact that she released the three books very quickly but I'm also glad I waited because I very much enjoyed being able to pick up the next book immediately and moving forward with this couple.
When Cash Montgomery was introduced into Laramie Briscoe's Heaven Hill series I knew then I wanted to know more about the young mechanic. The Red Bird Trilogy tells his story and it isn't a pretty one; Cash's life has been hard and being that he's only 21 he's endured a lot more than people his age should even have to endure but he's willing to work hard and do what it takes to make something out of himself and to make sure his much younger brother, Remy, never has to deal with everything he's had to in his life. Cash might be a bad boy, tattooed, racing hot shot but there are many layers to him and when he crosses paths with Harper Stillwell the first time he has no clue how much his life is going to change.
While this book is most likely classified as a new adult given the ages of the characters are 21 and 19, between the two of them their life experiences make them so much older. That's not to say they don't have their moments when they show they are absolutely that age but I have to give them both credit for how hard they work, their goals and ambitions and the fact that they both put 10 year old Remy ahead of themselves and even when they do make mistakes they do it because they are young and are simply trying to protect themselves from what they fear the most.
In this trilogy we see them meet, act on their undeniable chemistry, move in together out of necessity, fall in love, have issues, reconnect, confront issues, begin to heal and figure things out and eventually get to that place where they (along with Remy) are secure, happy and in love. It was hard watching them go through everything they had to in order to get to that happy place. My heart broke for them both as they dealt with the demons in their past and worked hard just to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. I loved seeing the members of the Heaven Hill MC there to support them, to offer advice and for the help these two desperately needed even when they didn't want to admit it. I also loved watching them mature, grow and change without losing themselves in the process and I applaud them for getting help when they realized they were over their heads and needed a safe place to talk about everything that had happened in their short lives.
Ms. Briscoe has a knack for writing characters that you can believe, gives them lives that aren't easy but yet there is hope and for making them see that having someone beside you can make a difference. I will say that this book is quite a bit sexier than the others she has written and that's not a bad thing, it is just different from her norm but it seemed to fit these characters well.
All in all I very much enjoyed this trilogy and this author did right by these characters by not rushing their story and trying to cram it all into one book where the conflict and problems were solved easily and overnight. These characters needed time and by allowing them that time, the story played out successfully and reasonably. Well developed characters, a thoroughly developed plot and a story that showed us that hard work, dedication and sacrifices can lead you to everything you want out of life made the Red Bird Trilogy an outstanding addition to Ms. Briscoe's body of work.
Cash Montgomery wishes his life were different; more carefree. One that most college kids enjoy-school; hanging with friends, girls, partying. But since the time he was teenager, he's had to be the man of the house. His brother, Remy, is an asthmatic and has a lot of needs. His medicine is expensive. Cash's mom is a drug addict, she may be clean right now but that can change at any point. So he's had to man up, and do what he has to in order to get the bills paid. His mom just got a promotion at the store she works at, but she doesn't make enough to keep food on the table, a roof over their heads, clothes for Remy and pay for his medical needs. She earns too much for them to get state aid for Remy but too little to provide for them. So Cash races at the Red Trail. An illegal betting track where he is king. Racing and quick hookups are the only pleasures he allows himself. He has a strong ally in the Heaven Hill MC's. He became friends with their members and these guys are loyal to a fault. They have his back, know his situation and do what they can to help him out.
Harper Stillwell is in college and determined to make something of herself. Her aunt has been her guardian since she was a little kid. Her dad made the brilliant move of robbing a convenience store with her in the car. Only it went down badly and he ended up in prison doing some hard time.
Cash and Harper first meet when Cash is late for class and ends up cutting off Harper in the parking lot. He gets her attention that's for sure.
"Hey, asshole! That was my spot!" "Sorry, sweet cheeks, but I gotta get to this class on time, or they're going to kick me out. Next time, I'll save you this spot."
When her friend Natalie, drags her to a race at Red Bird Trail that same night, she finally gets to see who the hot guy is that has all the girls wearing dental floss for clothing, hoping to catch his eye. When the cops raid the race, Cash pulls Harper into his car to get them away. The two end up hanging out and learning they have more in common than they would have thought.
"What are you sayin' to me?" I'm saying I have responsibilities too, ones that weigh me down and never allow me to have any fun. I think you and I could have some fun together." "No strings?" "I don't want strings. I'm nineteen; I just wanna have a good time. Like you, i have people who count on me, but sometimes, i want to throw caution to the wind and let my freak flag fly, so to speak."
Circumstances are going to cause both their living conditions to dramatically change. Cash has to make the tough decision to leave his house and take his brother with him. Harper's aunt chooses her father over her and she is also forced to move out. But neither one of these two can afford a place of their own. They have been casually hooking up, but is that the basis to become roommates?
This is a new three part series from Laramie Briscoe. So this first installment ends on a cliffy. Cash has his hands full with his brother, but his mother is going to make him miserable and threaten his brother's safety. We are left with these two fighting their feelings for each other, in spite of the fact that they have to rely on each other just to survive.
Without knowing it, a stolen parking spot had given him the one thing he'd been missing in his life.
'"Cash", she breathed against his lips. "What are we doing?" He didn't know. The only thing he knew was that he needed this; he needed the feeling he had with her. There was so much in his everyday life that got in the way of his feelings, that caused him to be completely numb. With her, he felt something at least, even if it was arousal, "Being young and dumb," he answered.'
Cash is a complicated young guy with a penchant for racing fast cars and playing fast and loose with the ladies but that is only the surface facts, the things he wants people to see, because underneath the tough lothario James Dean attitude, Cash is burdened with the task of being the main breadwinner and care taker of his younger brother as their mother is an addict with severe emotional issues. It's only when our two main protagonists finally meet and really talk and begin a rather untraditional friendship, that is the fragile beginnings of something deeper, that Cash and Harper both realise and recognise the loneliness, sadness and craving for love in one another that might just have them fighting for a chance at something they never dreamed possible.
Harper is magnificent. She's intelligent, has integrity and pride in herself even after the disturbing events of her childhood. She has her reservations about Cash and his infamous character but she takes a chance on him and what starts out as comfort and fun soon transforms into a beautiful love story with substance and heat and a whole lot of passion with both characters embracing the others flaws and perfections. Independently Cash and Harper are superb characters to read about but once they combine the sexual chemistry and soul connection they obviously share sparkles and sizzles off the page. There's plenty of drama, angst and emotion at play in Flagger, both on the racing circuit and off as well as thigh-clenching steamy sex scenes and sweet romance. It is a three part story so not all loose ends are tied up at the end but it was a great ending, my only problem with the book is the fact that I would have liked it to be a bit longer, but that's just me being greedy. With Laramie Briscoe's writing I never expect anything less than stellar and she has never once let me down.
While Flagger is a separate trilogy from the Heaven Hill MC series and it can be read as a standalone; I recommend that you take the time to read the other series if not first then shortly afterwards because there is a cross over that may make you understand who is who a little bit better. That being said, it is only my personal suggestion. I have read the entire Heaven Hill series so far so I knew who certain people were prior to beginning Flagger. Let’s get down to business now shall we?
Flagger is the first book in the Red Bird Trail trilogy and what a way to start! I lately have had a thing about racing books, oh hell let’s be honest here I love to race in real life and while I may have settled down some since I had kids I still love the thrill of driving fast, knowing that you are in control of how fast you can go. Cash Montgomery is oh so sexy, he knows he is a badass on the track and let’s face it he’s just a badass period because of how he takes care of his little brother Remy. I would love to be in the seat next to him during a race, or even afterward, that Harper is a lucky girl. Harper has her own issues that she is dealing with but her and Cash connect in more than a sexual way, it is almost like the fates conspired for these two to be what not only saves the other but to show what real love is.
Laramie Briscoe is an author that I started reading by chance but continue to read because I know I will get a great book out of her; one that will have me going back for seconds, thirds, fourths, oh hell will have me going back to read whatever it is she plans to write because she has cemented me as a fan for life. Like I said you don’t have to read the Heaven Hill series first, but if you want a little more background on the characters and get some glimpses of Cash himself in those books I think you will see why I keep coming back for more.
A review by Jeannie Gobaira 5 Sweet Stars from NADBB! ------------------------------------------- Holy unexpected surprise Batman! I was not prepared for a novel that contained The Heaven Hill Gang or a group of illegal street racers to be so SWEET! This story focuses on two very young and I’ll say disadvantaged young adults. Harper is 19 and living with her aunt while her father is in prison for murder. Cash is 21 and raising his younger brother while living with a drug addled mother(who never seems to stay sober long.) These are very likable characters and they earn my admiration and respect. The level of maturity and the way Harmony and Cash handle life crises’ is refreshing and appreciated. They are very realistically portrayed and have considerable wisdom for their age--for example-- “Don’t punish me,” she ran her tongue along her bottom lip as she tried to control her breathing, “for something other people have done to you. Remy and I need you to be here for us, and that doesn’t mean only when it’s convenient—like other people have done to you.” Suddenly it clicked. Treating her like others had treated him was not going to work. He said words he hardly ever said. “I’m sorry.” As you read, you will likely discover (as I did) that Cash and Harmony have latched onto your heart and maybe a few other parts as well-- “I hope you had a better night than I did. I couldn’t think about anything but the ink on your chest and how you felt between my thighs.” ...See what I mean? They have an incredible sexual magnetism and somehow are also heart achingly sweet. The book seems to read itself, the words flow easily and it ends before I’m ready to let Cash and Harmony go! Luckily there will be more story to come. Laramie Briscoe has two more installments planned featuring Cash and Harmony.
Laramie Briscoe starts her new Red Bird Trail Trilogy, FLAGGER, at top speed.
Cash Montgomery has two sides. One that people see. Another that has made him grow up way too fast, that only the closest to him even know of. Two very different people. If you have read Laramie’s Heaven Hill MC series, you may think I’m crazy, but I think Cash could give Tyler a run. Cash is an old soul in a young body.
Harper Stillwell is an amazingly sweet and strong young woman. She has a huge heart and can see the good in anyone. Despite issues from her past the plague her. She too, grew up a bit too fast. When Harper throws caution to the wind and lives a little it gave her something greater than she could have asked for.
Laramie Briscoe starts her new Red Bird Trail trilogy, Flagger, at high speed and never lets off the gas. Raw, real and sexy. Cash and Harper both have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to their parents. Both in the same boat with different stories. There connection, chemistry and passion will leave goosebumps. Cash and Harper together make each other feel alive. Circumstances push them together, it’s up to them to keep themselves together.
Flagger is part one of a trilogy. Yes there is a cliffhanger ending, however the first phase of the story in my mind is complete. Ms. Briscoe just does a damn good job of setting up the next book.
A copy of this title was provided by the author/publisher for an honest review.
Flagger - Red Bird Trail Trilogy #1 by Laramie Briscoe is the first book in the Red Bird Trail Trilogy. This trilogy focuses on Cash Montgomery, a hot street racer and blue-collar mechanic, and Harper Stillwell, a college student with a dark past that is now catching up to her. As their story spans the trilogy, this book does end on a cliffhanger.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this. I liked the description but just wasn't sure. Pretty much from the first page on this book was awesome. It sucked me right in! The characters are slowly fleshed out throughout the book, so as Cash and Harper learn more about each other we also learn more about them. It was well-paced, descriptive without being overly so, and the chemistry between the two was sizzlin'.
It isn't an insta-love story. It is an insta-attraction and both characters are intrigued with each other beyond their own understanding. They both come together with intentions to be together with no-strings but each conversation, each touch just ties them tighter together.
Laramie has delivered another fantastic read that leaves you begging for more and more you will get, as this is the first book in a trilogy.
Cash is amazing *sigh*. He loves fast cars, has a penchant for the ladies but also has a sweet and nurturing side in that he takes care of his family, in particular his younger brother. He is the sole money maker as his mother is an addict and has severe issues that makes her an absent mother. Cash has had to grow up quickly with the circumstances he has been dealt with and is wise beyond his years. He doesn’t show his vulnerable side to people and this changes when he meets Harper.
Harper is also an old soul, having had to grow up beyond her age as well thanks to her past and her parents. Her and Cash are drawn to each other and they are a beautiful couple and are able to help heal each other as they have a similar background history.
Flagger leaves you with a tiny cliffhanger but due to their complex histories, it’s definitely worth the wait for the next book! Their story cannot simply be told in one book alone and I cannot wait to dive further into their lives, past and present.
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Tanya.
Another sweet and salty story of two young people who come from different backgrounds but have the common issue of bad parenting...Cash takes care of his younger brother Remy (since his mother is too messed up to be responsible) and Harper is struggling to survive the betrayal of her own family (and comes to realize she has to take care of herself or no one else will). Car racing, trying to get through school to make a better life, an appearance and major support from the Heaven Hill MC and plenty of romance full of youthful angst make up the meat of this first installment of a new trilogy by Laramie Briscoe and it has all the heart and down home family vibes of her Rockin' Country series but with the added bonus of Tyler, Liam and the gang from her biker books as well. It ends on a cliffhanger and left me wanting to know what happens next to Cash and Harper, the new young couple and the boy they want to love and protect from abusive, neglectful parents. A great start to an exciting romantic adventure with a realistic edge. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
**** 4 **** "hang on for the ride and it will set you free" stars
Laramie knows how to give us a guy to lust over!! Cash has a rep for being the tattooed racer bad boy but there is more to him than his reputation! Harper seems like the sweet type that has everything figured out but there is more to the story. Harper and Cash both find out that they have almost the same type of situation and can help each other out(it doesn't hurt that they have amazing chemistry). "Flagger" is a story that you can't help but get sucked into and you will love cheering on Cash and Harper. If you love Laramie's other series you will love this one also especially since we get a few parts with Liam, Jagger, and Tyler from her other series! I can't wait for the next book to come out because she leaves us bitting our nails hoping that Cash and Harper can fight the new obstacle been thrown at them!
Flagger is the first part of the Red Brid Trail Trilogy. A story about two young college students just trying to make their way through the world and doing what they need to survive. Cash Montgomery has three important focuses in life: his brother, Remy, racing and college…until one day he steals a parking spot from Harper Stillwell. Harper Stillwell’s life hasn’t been easy. Now facing the sins of another’s past, she just need a break; a change to escape. They come into each other’s lives when they need it the most. Trilogies usually aren’t my thing but I am so excited for this trilogy. We met Cash Montgomery in Dirty Little Secrets Book 5 of the Heaven Hill Series. I couldn’t wait for his story. Oh, what a story it is. The love and compassion he shows for Remy is incredible. This book is hot, steamy and full of excitement. Definitely worth checking out.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review In the Heaven Hill MC series, I have loved the character of Cash. I was always interested in his back story. So this trilogy was right up my alley! As with any of Laramie Briscoe's books, the writing is solid and the story line is catchy. Ordinarily, I am not a fan of stories that are broken up over several books (Cassia Leo being an exception!), but this one was a solid story - not resolved, but not a cliffhanger either. Cash and his family were fascinating. The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five was that I could not seem to connect with Harper. It didn't click to me as to why Cash is interested in her. However, I expect that will change when more of her story is revealed (I hope!) in the next 2 books. I can't wait for the next one!
