The final part of EMBER, a three-part series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Deborah Bladon.
Bridget Grant and Dane Beckett found something in one another. Neither was looking for love when they crossed paths in a crowded restaurant, yet they can't deny that the instant attraction they feel for one another is shifting into something more.
Bridget's perception of the man she's falling in love with changes in an instant when she realizes that he may not be the kind, giving and honest person she thought he was. When she's faced with undeniable proof of who he really is, she's forced to confront him in a way she never imagined she'd have to.
They have hurdles they have to overcome together but will the past be too much for either of them to bear? As Bridget faces a decision to pursue her life's dream, Dane has to confront the woman who he once loved. Bridget wants the truth, Dane wants her and when life offers Bridget a chance she can't pass up, will it mean the end of their love?
Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.
She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.
I never thought a short 3 novella will make Ember a great read. Now I wish Miss Bladon made this book into full lenght novel with self conflict and more dramatic twist.
Dane is such a sweetheart. His love for Bridget is endless. He trusts her completely. While Bridget harbors doubt for her feeling toward Dane. I was cheering their HEA.
4.5 stars Spoilery sorry but it has to be said because we all hated that ending of part 2.
Thank goodness Part 2's cliffhanger was just a case of mistaken identity. I had real trouble with Part 2 and almost didn't even want to give part 3 a chance, but Deborah being Deborah weaved a web so well that you could help but fall more in love with Dane as the story went on. If her stories have taught me anything about life it's that communication is key and not everything is as it seems at first glance. But if every one of her characters communicated so well we wouldn't have very long stories now would we.
Anyway, fansd of Dane and Bridget will be very pleased with the last part of their Ember story. Though just FYI it isn't the end of their love story. Deborah has said that there will be a novella for right after the epilog. *high pitched girly squeal*
Can't wait to met Dane's playboy older brother Landon in the next three part series as well.
Ember Part Three picks up right after Part two and it is not what I had been expecting or I should say not all secrets are what they seem. I like how things turned out. We got more insight to the secrets that Dane had. The only thing for me is I wish we had Dane's point of view. Im not saying that when I read the series that I didnt hear his voice because I did. I just wished to get more from him. Overall this was a really good series. It was quick and sexy and had me from the get go!!!
Absolutely incredible! Wow, can Deborah Bladon write! Embers 3 has it all. Steamy romance, conflict and love. Cleo has Dane's heart but she fights her feelings as Dane's past keeps popping up with questions. Cleo has a talent. Dane has a career. Can they rise above there insecurities and love each other? Like all her books, Embers 3 had me gripping my tablet and enjoying the ride! This is a must read!
Holy cow!!! That epilogue, though! I can't!!!! Deborah Bladon has been added to my "read everything she writes even if it's a grocery list" list. *****5 STARS AND ALL THE THUMBS UP*****
3.5 Stars Me during the first few chapters: Damn the reveal was not what I anticipated. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed. Is it wrong for me to want more drama? Or for Dane to be the bad guy. I was hoping for some type of psychological mind fuck. He could of been a stalker or something. Oh well. I guess I'm okay with the happy ending.
This was the most hearyfelt, jarring and passionate story I jave ever read. The angst was over the top amazing. I have been shaken thtoughout the whole series and the ending of it was just perfect! I loved this story so much!
Deborah did it again! Althouth, I have to say that I missed few series of hers I promise I will come back and read all of them. Soon!!!
Ember part 3 was fascinating! I left part 2 with my heart in my mouth and ended part 3 with my heart full as a balloon. Deborah you endlessly like to tease us, don't you? Even when I finally got through 80% of the book I couldn't be possitive to where things going to be between Bridget and Dane. I wanted so bad things going to be HEA for them but Ms Deborah Bladon here, haven't give the green light for it yet. Pure torture my friends!!!!
I'm not going to say a thing about what happened with Bridget and Dane. The description on the cover says much. I want you to find out the end by yourselves and enjoy it as I was. The only thing I want to say is that, even if many things were clarified about Dane's past, he said as much he could about it; I realy want to read his POV too. He was unexpectedly open with his feelings towards Bridget, something that was so unique if you ask me, but he kept things hide for his reasons. I'd love to learn what were his anchors which made him act the ways he did. And of course, I can't wait for the extra part of them, soon.
Thank you Deborah again for the amazing love story! xo
Just finished reading the series and have to hand it to Ms Bladon, she has written the ultimate love story! Absolutely heart wrenchingly beautiful! Dane, a gorgeous hunk of sensitive emoting all male firefighter, and Bridget, a sweet, sensitive and beautiful woman who just wants to do her art work. Though her parents educated her to be a social worker, she prefers to work in a bar so all her free time can be spent doing her pencil portraits. Watching these two from their first meeting to the full blossoming of their love, is a journey not to be missed. There is much intrigue and suspense as Dane has just ended a two year relationship that has a tremendous amount of baggage still attached to it and though their attraction is incredible, Bridget doesn't want to get her heart broken so is super cautious. There are so many clever subplots in their story that you absolutely just have to read it to appreciate it. If you love great romantic suspense you don't want to miss this series! I can't wait for the next book about Dane and Bridget's life together which is supposed to be out right about now. Yeah! Merrilyn
Bridget Grant knew that the man she was falling hard for, had nearly been taken off the market the night they met. She also knew that his life was still tangled with his ex's. The problem was that he refused to tell her anything more. Come to think of it, she hardly knew anything about him, except that he was a hot firefighter, generous lover and that he was currently homeless. Until she learned that their pasts had touched before and that absolutely changed everything she thought she knew. Dane Beckett had never felt this way about a woman before. He wanted a clean break from Maisy, but the woman was giving him hell. His own mother was being difficult about his breakup. And now Bridget had a career changing opportunity that he couldn't keep from her. He wanted her above all else, but would she accept what he had to offer? The last installment of the Ember series, breaks the last barriers between Bridget and Dane and culminates with more happiness than either ever expected to find. A sweet ending chapter for the youngest Beckett brother.
This is the first of this author's work that I've read and I was pleasantly surprised.
From the first word in this series I got pulled into the story and just couldn't finish. I'm glad I waited for all three to come out before starting to read because the exchangers in book and two had me gasping and chanting 'oh my God's'.
A lot of confusion trying to figure out Dane's secret were very evident during these books. My brain was going haywire wandering what was going on, to find out it was all pretty simple really, but I loved the fact my mind was conjuring up all sorts of scenarios with Dane being a cheating lying rat bastard and I was so far of the mark it not even funny.
I loved the ending too and can't wait to read the last little tidbit.
I feel ripped off by the surprising cliffhanger in book two because basically it was the most exciting thing in this book. The suggestion was that Dane was purposely hiding details of his relationship with Maisy when it was all a smoke screen for a lack of plot development. Bridget’s lack of an emotional reaction to the supposed secrets Dane holds was infuriating proving that the cliffhanger was purposely written just to sell another book. The lack of character development and the bare bones rough draft style of Bladon’s writing continue to frustrate me to high Heaven and I have no hopes that her writing skills will improve.
This is the final third of the Ember novel. I don't understand why authors & publishers think it is appropriate to publish small sections of a novel separately. Regardless, I read all three of the parts and simply did not like the writing. It reads like a student project on writing erotica. The characters were one dimensional, the love scenes were **** scenes. There was no romance involved. The secondary characters were one dimensional. The only reason I read all three sections is because I bought them as a bundle and they are very quick reads.
This was a nice trilogy to read. It was quick and fast paced. I never felt it was dragging. There was just the right amount of drama. The biggest issue was miscommunication or lack of communication. Every book has to have their conflict. At times I would think each character was being spineless or naive but then I'd remember the insecurities of new relationships. This covers all three books. My biggest issue world be the cost. Not awful and it won't stop me from reading this author again but just annoying.
I feel like I have been waiting for years for Part 3. I love receiving emails from Me. Bladon informing ANOTHER book is ready for me to read. Indie book writers are the best. I feel the excitement of the characters and I am awaiting anxiously to turn the next page.
Having to wait to see about Dane's relationship and "baby" kept me on pins and needles.
This is the last in this series about Dane and Bridget. I love how this series included characters from a previous series. Zoe, Vanessa and Brighton Beck. The cliffhangers of each previous book were exciting and then reading on in the next book seeing how that cliffhanger resolved itself was enlightening! I can't wait to read more bout Bridget and Dane to see how their lives come together. Great series !!!
Wow, This was so intense, I was so confused for a bit not sure where this was going with Bridget and Dane, not sure who who was dreaming, or trying to fool/ lie to whom. Look out all, you will be shocked, great story, such a good read, kept me interested throughout, then the ex girl friend Maisy, and the pic she painted, and the baby mystery is revealed
Ms. Bladon has crafted a complex story with dynamic characters that love hard, fight hard for what they want. Bridget is a struggling artist that fears for Dane, the sizzling hot NYC fireman who has secrets that could jeopardize the relationship he is trying to build with Bridget. Another great story by a gifted story teller!!
I liked this book. It was very interesting. I was really glad Bridget got things straight with what was going on at the hospital. I was also excited that they finally told each other about there feelings for each other. I recommend this book to all romance readers. A lot of sexy hot scenes.
I thought the ending of this story was going to go a lot different. However, I was thoroughly surprised. This series overall was good and while it wasn't my favorite of Ms. Bladon's I appreciated everything that was Dane. I can't wait for Rise or Haze. Especially Haze. The Foster Brothers are a favorite of mine.
So far I think this is my most favorite of all the series I have read of Deborah Bladon. I mean HELLO Dane is a hot as hell Fireman! I really liked Bridget too she dealt with alot of unknowns and in the end the sacrifices he makes to prove his love was SWOON WORTHY!! Can't wait for the other stories to come out! Keep them coming Deborah LOL!!
Loved this ending of course but am happy to get my hands on the novella.. I want more of Dane and Bridget's story. I feel like their story has just begun now that all the drama has settled. A novella is very welcomed.
Loved this story of Dane and Bridget. While reading Ember, I felt so many different emotions regarding the struggles Bridget has with Dane. I love reading books that can put me in the story along with the characters and this story certainly did just that. Awesome book.
I was excited to finish this story; I loved the first two. However, this one fell short for me. I was disappointed with it and that has never happened when reading her stories. Dane just didn't do it for me and the story felt forced for the characters. Bridgett wasn't really relatable either.
I am so sorry for everything that Deborah Bladon has gone through lately...however, part three was worth the wait! I loved it, I loved the conclusion to Dane and Bridget's story. Great series, I can't wait for the next one!
I will give the end a 3.5. The Hero does come around so I no longer wanted to choke him. If you are a fan of Deborah Bladon, you'll love the story she weaves. If this is your first, I recommend you go read Vain or Ruin first.
