I'm not sure what's happening, but this author's books no longer feel like their older ones. Something changed in their writing maybe!?? I don't know, can't put my finger on it.
Their relationship should have been explored more. A lot was explained, but I just couldn't feel their connection. Everything was on the surface.
He said he was obsessed, but I couldn't see that as a reader. It was meh, empty words, really.
I felt like he settled with his "angel". Danger, war, or not, show everyone how obsessed and in love you are! I felt like he was a weak-ish hero.
Also, that first scene was straight up from a bad p*rn. I laughed, ok!?? it's smut,it shouldn't "feel" mechanic and it shouldn't make me laugh. The other scenes were meh as well, except maybe for the shower scene and the yard scene. I'm usually not picky with the smut scenes, but that first scene felt out of place, considering he was already feeling things towards her.
Anyways, I'll most probably continue to give a chance to the next books they'll publish. As soon as the new release email hits my inbox I'm typically on it! 😅 I just hope the next one will be better.

Who is the man that is your boss? Or really is your boss? You end up in a precarious situation after a one night stand, and end up married to said boss, only to find out he is in the Mob. The people who are constantly trying to hurt them, war against them, and cause issues. With their families at war, his need to protect her and his family is his main priority. Not knowing who for sure you can trust. Awesome story ♥️.

Disappointing.
I liked the plot. There are action and steamy scenes. I didn't like the MFC. I couldn't believe what she did, knowing she was in danger. I like all the other books I've read by Ms. Hamel , but I did not like this one as much as her other books I've read.

3.5 stars— DIRTY LEGACY by BB Hamel is a contemporary, adult dark, Irish Crime family, erotic, romance stand alone . This is Connor Maguire and Angelina Bellandi’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Angie and Connor) DIRTY LEGACY follows the building romance and forced marriage between our story line couple. Angelina Bellandi accidentally sent her boss Connor Maguire a computer file containing several personal images and nude selfies. One night together would result in an unexpected pregnancy but Connor has been betrothed to someone else, a betrothal meant to strength and align two powerful Irish Crime families. Angie’s pregnancy announcement finds Connor demanding they marry but the marriage is about to cause a war between families. Keeping his family safe forces Connor to take steps in a war he doesn’t want but the Gallagher family was humiliated when Connor married someone else, a humiliation that is about to place everyone in the direct line of fire.
The world building follows Connor as he finds himself on the outside looking in having defied the man tag the top. As the Gallagher family take aim, Connor must circle the proverbial wagons as he struggles to protect the people he loves.
The relationship between Connor and Angie begins as boss and employee that turns into a one afternoon together resulting in an unexpected pregnancy. Angie is willing to raise the child on her own but Connor is determined to claim Angie as his wife, betraying the people at the top. Connor has a secret, a need for Angie she knew nothing about but a need that reveals an obsessive love predicated on events from the past, The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.
The secondary and supporting characters are engaging and interesting. We are introduced to Connor’s father Cathal, his wife Danielle, and Connor’s Half-sister Rowan; Connor’s men including his cousin Deck, Marcus, and Colm, as well as Declan,Fergus and Sinead Gallagher, and Angie’s mother Dawn Bellandi, a woman who was more of a clown and a distraction.
DIRTY LEGACY is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, secrets and obsession, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is entertaining, dramatic and edgy but there is a different feel to the author’s style of writing, a change that did not feel cohesive or serious. The characters are determined and desperate yet often immature; the romance is seductive and needy. I am a big fan of BB Hamel’s stories and series but I struggled with this latest release.

A captivating read, wonderful characters and a plot that makes this book impossible to put down
As usual with this authors books I was hooked from the start and I couldn’t put it down and read it in a day. Book gives action, drama and lots of spice. Slight crossover of characters from the Whelan books but you don’t need to have read them first.
Who could have envisioned that sending a provocative picture accidentally to her boss could have lead to her having to go to his office and then she had to recreate one of the poses in his office whilst he watched her with rapt attention.
The some six weeks late Connor Maguire informs her in no uncertain ters that she us going to marry him and with the responsibilities caring and paying for her mother she cannot lose her job. This yhen finds her marrying a man that is part of a notorious crime family that was supposed to enter an arranged marriage. This does not stop him from arranging for a priest to marry us both in the living room in front of her mother and a witness, she cannot refuse and cannot imagine the repercussions that will follow.
I guarantee that other readers will find this as entertaining as I have and am very much looking forward to future books.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

I enjoyed Connor and Angie's story. Angie lives with her mom in a rent-controlled apartment. Angie ends up caring for her mom and has never really had a childhood or had any of her dreams come true. Angie works for Connor at his company, Washco, as a data entry monkey, according to her bestie Nadia, who also works for Connor. Her boyfriend, Brad, dumps her for Lavender. One night, Angie accidentally emails Connor his report but also attaches some compromising photos. Which catch Connor's eye, and one thing leads to another. Angie finds herself pregnant from their one-night stand. When she finally plucks up the courage to tell Connor, it is the night he has been arranged to marry Sinead Gallagher to guarantee an alliance with her family. Decisions Connor makes that night start a war between the families. Connor is caring and protective of Angie and will do anything for her because of a selfless rescue she did years ago. You get hooked in and turn the pages until the end with all the twists and turns that you don't see coming.

Angie Bellandi takes care of her mother, has since she was basically a child herself, but when her boyfriend of two years dumps her in a text message she is not thinking straight or paying attention to what she was doing and sends her boss an email she did not mean to send to anyone, least of all Connor Maguire. Connor has watched over Angie for years, for reasons that she is unaware of, and that he has never disclosed to her. After that email arrives, he calls her into his office and gives in to his desire for her. Unfortunately, that desire will have consequences that he could not have anticipated; Angie tells him she is pregnant, and Connor has been engaged to another woman, a marriage arranged by his boss, a marriage that will be advantageous to two powerful families. But Connor never wanted to marry the other woman, he will go to war to protect her and make her his wife.
These are fascinating and well written characters with very strong personalities that kept me engaged from the first page. Fast-paced dialogue, bloody violence, plenty of steam, unexpected twists in the plot, and a happy ending make this a book I will gladly recommend to other readers.

It was meant to be a one time unplanned steamy encounter between Angie and Connor, but he became addicted, so when she delivered life change news to him on the most important day of his life, he upended his entire life just to be with her. Even though Connor knew there would be consequences for his actions, he never expected the level of havoc it caused for everyone involved. Unfortunately, whilst Connor was trying to resolve the situation he thought he had created, Angie discovered an underlying problem, that led to a betrayal he never expected.
Thankfully, Connor was able to make a deal that would resolve the problem between the families and allow him to get back on track towards the future he was building with Angie. This is a definite must read book for any mafia romance reader who likes an intriguing plot, complex characters, suspense, angst, danger, violence and enough spicy moments to keep you captivated from the start to finish. You will definitely enjoy reading this book as much as I did and be very happy to recommend it.

His Angel!
I enjoyed this story from page one to the end! Big Boss has been hiding a second from one of his employees, Angelina who he loves and can't stop thinking about her even after he receives some sexy pic's of her by mistake and he calls her to his office.Six weeks later Angie's life changes and so does Connor 's,he is ask to do something big for the (family) and he doesn't want to but he says yes and he is about to go thru with it until he gets some news from Angel. I enjoyed this story from page one to the end! Dirty Legacy was exactly the kind of messy, dark mafia romance I was in the mood for! The forced marriage setup pulled me in right away, and I loved the tension between the characters as they tried to figure out what their new relationship was actually going to look like.
The mafia family drama, secrets, danger, and possessive moments kept things moving, and I especially liked watching the relationship slowly shift from something neither of them really wanted into something much harder to walk away from. There’s plenty of that “you’re mine, whether you like it or not” energy that works so well in this trope.
The forced marriage definitely brings plenty of conflict, but the growing chemistry kept me turning the pages. If you like dark mafia romances with a dangerous hero, complicated family dynamics, forced marriage, and lots of tension, this is definitely one to add to your list!

This book seemed a little different to previous books by this author.
Connor and Angelina had an unusual get together at the start of the book, but then we find out he’s been obsessed with her for several years, but what that entailed was very briefly touched on.
I personally think their relationship could have been so much more and if I’m honest, there seemed to be more chemistry between Connor and Sinead, the woman he was supposed to marry through an agreement between families, than there was between Connor and Angelina.
He said he was obsessed, but I couldn't see that as a reader. It was meh, empty words, really.
How frustrating was Angelina’s mother! This is a person she should have cut out of her life a long time ago. Connor’s family on the other hand seemed lovely, even crazy mad Danielle!

The whole time I was reading Dirty Legacy I kept asking myself if this is really a book written by B.B. Hamel.
I am sorry but I am not a fan.
This entire book is so infantile and I don't even want to get started on Angelina. She is without the doubt one of the most annoying FMCs I've ever read about. I know she's supposed to be in her early twenties but the way she behaves is more fitting for a 16 year old.
Keeping a baby to prove a point? Also her constant switch between hot and cold.
The only reason I didn't give this book less stars is because I liked Connor and some of the other characters.
But honestly, compared to every other book by B.B. Hamel this is worlds apart and not in a good way.
I have high hopes for the next one.

4.5 stars! Angie has been having a tough time of late. She hates her job, her boyfriend dumped her and she has been taking care of her mother since she was a child. When she sends sexy pictures of herself to her boss by accident, she knows she is going to be fired. Her boss Connor calls her into her office, but it is not to fire her, instead they have a great night. When she learns she is pregnant, she has to tell Connor on his wedding day. It's an arranged marriage and leaving his fiancé at the alter will start a war in the Irish mafia. What will he do? This is a well written good read with some good action that keeps you reading to the end.

Only he doesnt call her into his office to fire her, instead something else ignites between them, but then a positive pregnancy test, has Connor with a priest in her mothers lounge and a wedding, that he was meant to be having with another woman, oh and hes an Irish mafia boss, whose now ex fiancees family want dead, and theres more to their history than meets the eye! Well written engaging steamy desires drama action and more.

Gripping Forced Marriage Dark Mafia Romance
This is an age gap dark mafia romance with intriguing twists and turns that I definitely did not see coming. It is fast paced with lots of steam, violence, suspense and danger. Both Connor and Angeline have much deeper characters than first portrayed. As the story progresses Connor demonstrates that he is just what Angeline and their surprise baby needs even if his methods are obsessive and possessive putting their lives and both their family lives in so much danger. Family plays a big part in their story. Definitely worth the read.

Connor Maguire is the sexy boss of Angie who mistakenly sends him filthy selfies. When she gets called into his office, she assumes she is about to be fired. What actually happens in a sexy recreation of some of those selfies and ends in a positive pregnancy test 6 weeks later. That test leads to a quicky "shotgun" marriage and that leads to the family of the woman he was "supposed" to marry to come after them. Angie quickly learns that her Boss actually runs the Maguire crime family and now she in in the middle of a war that was not supposed to happen "if" he had gone ahead and married the other woman.

Now her boss wants to see her in his office, and things take some very steamy turns. Connor was set to marry into another family, but he cancelled it after he found out about a special little surprise Angie has. This is a steamy, dark romance with family drama, danger, suspense, unexpected twists, steam, and so much more. Dirty Legacy is a fast paced Mafia romance. A different mafia story but very entertaining and fun, if one can say that about a story that contains violence and is as steamy as this one is. Angie may work for Connor but it becomes so much more, explaining why would spoil the story. Angie’s mother is unfortunately not unique and Angie is strong and independent as a result. Life has not been kind to her but that all changes with an inadvertent e-mail to Connor. There are some serious challenges in the way to their happy ever after but the journey is enthralling. I hope Sinead gets a story and hopefully Marcus and Nadia.

I enjoyed this like I enjoy a lot of this author's books- as an in-between. They usually have a good balance of plot and smut, but lack a certain depth and emotion. And this book is no exception. Both the mmc Connor and the fmc Angie were likable and had a good range of emotions.
I did end up disliking the Whelans now and I really feel like Sinead took advantage of the situation and her whole character just rubs me wrong. Even though Connor and Angie have a hea together, I still feel that isn't true for Connor professionally.

After Connor married Angie all hell breaks loose. Love how the whole family comes together while in isolation and help Angie feel like she has real support! Connor is as kind as he is tough.

As with all of BB’s books this was just as good, best to read the tw’s though as it’s not for everyone. Connor and Angie the MCs have a pretty decent working relationship until one saucy little mistake have them getting to know each other a little better which then consequently leads them to an arranged marriage. Full of drama, twists and turns and of course the heat is always on point. We love a possessive and protective MMC and a strong, confident FMC and this book delivers this.

I enjoyed this action packed slow burn to sizzle with a side of a hot mafia safe stalkerish leader. Connor was so swoony with his formidable toughness and a quiet gooey loving center. Angie was delightful with her nerdish outside, caring heart and hidden hotness. Loved the whole family vibe and the dangerous mafia life moments. No one messes with Connor’s family. As always this author did not disappoint.
