Ghostlore and Tragic Tales from a County fought in by several Kings. Home to many historic and powerful families Visited by the famous and infamous from Witch Finder Matthew Hopkins to Thomas a Becket. Birthplace of the Gunpowder Plot. Prison to a Queen... Dare you read this book on Northamptonshires strange and ghostly past! This book was first published in 1995 and has been revised and released as an e book in 2014
I reserve 1 star reviews for books I just can't bring myself to finish, and what a trial this was.
Almost every page had spelling and grammatical errors, the sentences were clunky, the stories lacked any real detail or description, and to top it off, most of these stories were neither ghostly or about hauntings. If I'd have wanted a book of awkwardly written interesting points in local history that occasionally had a spooky element, this would be the book I'd go to.
I feel a little guilty about this review, as it's clearly a self-published book, and some research has taken place, but then why not proofread your work before publishing? Why not include sources or descriptions?
