Cool for the Summer

Float Into Me

Rate this book
One weekend that was supposed to be spent relaxing by the pool and taking care of her friend’s cat turns into a night spent with… Greg.

He’s blue. He’s inflatable. He’s got a filthy mouth, an attitude problem, and absolutely no business being alive.

Court knows she probably has a few questionable life choices to reevaluate after this weekend.

Greg might just be her most questionable one yet.

“Greg isn’t just a pool float anymore.”
“Please tell me I did not just let a pool float fuck me?”
“Because I don’t feel like explaining to Jessica why I got kicked out of her apartment complex for stealing a pool float.”

🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🖤
This is one of those stories where you really have to think about what you absolutely just read for a moment. But in a rather good way. An absolutely blast for an end of summer read that has you rereading to check if you really read that correctly because of how absurd it played out. I never thought spice could be handled with a poolside floatie and a lot of imagination.

*spoilers*
So, Courtney is requested to house watch for a friend in a really lovely apartment complex with a nice, relaxing pool. The day she chooses to check out the pool, there’s absolutely no one there so she takes full advantage of it. Even choosing a nice, blue floatie to lie upon in the summer sun. But what she doesn’t know is that the floatie has a literal mind of its own. Becoming territorial once another man is present. And making sure Courtney knows about his presence in a rather public and erotic manner.

But after the experience, she questions what really happened at the pool. Still taking the floatie back to the apartment with her. And that’s when things escalate even more because this floatie freaking shape-shifts into a man. A man for her to have all kinds of explosive sensual moments with, forgetting that this isn’t a human, but an actual floatie that has become something much more… named Greg.

🖤𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓵𝓵🖤
The Cool For The Summer series has already kicked off with chaos and I am seated for every moment of it! This one brought the spice in a quick-paced, heated moment between a female and her floatie. A shape-shifting one at that to transform into what she could feel against her. I almost thought the floatie’s climax was going to pop him for a moment there. But it was a crazy under 30-page summer romance that will leave you with that image in your head all day.

Court was just enjoying herself in the pool, lounging on the pool floatie. She never in her wildest dreams expected the floatie to satisfy her. The floatie has a name and it is Greg. Greg has a mortal enemy and that is cats.

"His whole body shakes and wiggles as it continues to squeak like a dog playing with a chew toy."

The squeaking is hilarious! It kind of is a mood killer until you get used to it. When Court's leg slide right off Greg's shoulder I laughed out loud. This novella is a funny read.

I definitely think making me laugh out loud made this story so much better. The squeaking, oh my god, I nearly died.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️¼

I genuinely had to pause after finishing this one and ask myself, did I really just read a romance involving a pool floatie? 😂

Ayse Marie somehow took one of the most ordinary summer objects and turned it into a completely ridiculous, chaotic little story. Courtney and Greg’s situation escalated so quickly, and the whole sentient/shapeshifting object concept made this such a bizarrely entertaining read.

Greg being possessive added another layer to the madness, and I loved how the story leaned fully into its absurdity instead of taking itself too seriously. It’s short, fast-paced, spicy, and definitely one of those books where you finish it and stare at the wall for a second. 😂

The Cool For The Summer series is really proving that apparently nothing is safe from becoming a love interest. 💀🛟

If you’re looking for a quick, weird, summer-themed read that will leave you thinking “what did I just read?” — this one delivers.

Tropes/Elements:

UMMM EXCUSE ME AYSE MARIE!! Can we have Court share Greg with me for a while please!? Seeing the character art before reading this definitely helped with the visual of what he looks like! 😂🔥😭

Between the Washing Machine and now this Pool Floatie, I’m gonna need more of both of these stories! This one was just as hawt as “Fill My Load” by Cedar Rose! Good thing I don’t have a pool floatie or I’d be rushing outside to the pool to try and make it come to life! 🤪😂🤪😂🤪

Oh my goodness, what a day to swim haha when the pool float is so great that a real guy can't compete haha
I enjoyed this book, although, I have never heard of "pinches." The idea freaks me out, never knew that it was a thing lmao

The most cringe line for me had to be, "His whole body shakes and wiggles as it continues to squeak like a dog playing with a chew toy."
Uhmmm... esqueeeeze meee because, hell to the no hahaha it would of had been my *not it * moment for me, left, and never comeback from the second hand embarrassment 😅 haha

The most relatable part was, "I swear, if there's a bug in this water or on this damn float, I'm burning the entire apartment complex down."
I chuckled so hard at this as I always say this when I see spiders haha

This was a very fun read! I cant wait to read what's next!

Tah-Tah!

Float Into Me is short, spicy, hilarious, and completely fucking ridiculous in the best possible way. Court only wants a peaceful weekend by the pool, but instead she finds herself stealing a sentient, jealous pool float named Greg and honestly, how could I not love it?

Greg is possessive, filthy, strangely adorable, and learns how to use his new shapeshifting abilities very quickly. Between the banter, the cat vs float chaos, and all the squeaking, I couldn’t stop laughing. Did I expect to find a giant blue pool float hot? Absolutely not. Did Greg somehow make it happen? Unfortunately for my dignity and sanity, yes.

I fell into these books, 22 of them. All ridiculous in the most fun way possible. This one is about a pool floaty and a human cat sitter and their, well, romance, lol. Yep you read that right, a sentient romcom. I read a lot of dark romance and this was the exact opposite of what I usually read. A welcome, laugh out loud, ridiculous romance.

Part of the 'Cool for the Summer' series, but can be read as a standalone.

OMG y'all are going to love this edition to this Shared World of "Cool For The Summer Series".
Our Sentient is a pool float, that squeaks. LoL! Greg did you just squeak??

Totally hilariously Court and Greg, I would love to have more of these two.

I giggled through this quick read with quite delight. So enjoy Float Into Me by Ayse Marie. It's definitely a must read. There are 22 books in this wonderful Shared World Series. I recommend them all.

Another fantastic short read from this shared world series.

Imagine lounging on a pool float only to have it become aroused and possessive. And Greg is something else entirely.

I loved every minute of this, from there initial interaction and his immediate need to keep her away from other men, to his transformation and expanding appendage.

It's spicy, it's hot, it's wet and it's slightly crazy.

5 stars all day long

Highly recommend

Float into me

This was the last one for me and I’m kinda sad it’s over.

Court and Greg weirdly worked together. I mean if you’re going to steal a big blue pool float it might as well be one like Greg.

I loved his floating jealousy. Poor Kalab never stood a chance.

The entire series was a bit of a wild ride and it’s a good idea to check triggers as it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

Ummm excuse me?! Every page gave me a new wtf moment. I liked the twist that the floaty didn't have a full change like other objects completely change, so the floaty maintaining his regular shape for awhile and making the things happen. I love floating around a pool but now I will forever be second guessing anytime I am on a floaty

OK, there was not nearly enough to this book. It was hilarious and I found myself chuckling a few times. More than I expected from a 30+ page book. This is exactly the kind of book that I’m looking for when I read sentient romance. Absolutely fantastic and I will be deep diving into this author’s back catalog shortly.

Thank you the author for letting me read this book

For her first published work Ayse nailed this story I love how she can make it funny and hot at the same time maybe I need to invest in a pool float! This apartment complex has some questionable activities going on but I am absolutely loving it and I busted out laughing when he squeaked 😂

Courtney is a human cat sitter who meets Greg, a sentient pool float that squeaks, changes shape, and has a possessive streak. Somehow a squeaky float becomes a hot love interest, and now I’m disappointed that pool toys do not normally come with filthy mouths.

Book 11 of the Cool for the Summer Series

Great spicy little read. If only inanimate objects could change at the want and need for bigger and better things… what a naughty pool floatie 😉

Didn’t want this one to end!

OMG!!! WTF did I just read?!? I don’t think I will fully recover from this book and I’m a little traumatised by the contents of the book. I feel really bad for Court and I don’t think I can look at a pool floaty the same way again.

Meet Greg, he’s tall, he’s smooth, he’s girthy and he’s a pool float ..Yes you read that right .

I’ve read a lot of naughty shifter novellas but a pool float wasn’t one of them until today.
What’s better than a multi purpose pool float 🤭😉

Great cheeky little read while having a coffee

What??? 🤣🤣🤣

This was definitely so far out of my usual dark romance vibes. This is a sentient being romcom situation. With Greg the blue pool float 🏊‍♀️

Greg, did you just squeak? 🤣💀

If you need something short to cheer yourself up and make you laugh, this is that.
