The first volume, Strands, begins in 1988 in Pheasant Mills, North Carolina with beautiful young weaver, Carrie Pyles and Patty McMurphy, a shop owner from a prominent family. When Patty dies unexpectedly, Carrie becomes the sole heir to a fortune she could never have imagined. From unexplained gems and jewelry to unsolved crimes, Carrie and her friend Sergeant Lament trace the loose threads that form the fabric of Patty McMurphy’s dysfunctional legacy—only to unravel strands that are frayed in the bitter end.

FIVE STAR REVIEWS: Strands is a fun and engaging novel that mixes equal parts romance
By Bookish Mama on May 30, 2015
Strands is a fun and engaging novel that mixes equal parts romance, mystery and adventure in one distinctly Southern-style package. Once I started the book, I could not put it down. Great summer reading!
MUST READ.

This book mixes all the ingredients of a classic mystery novel, throws in a pinch of historical intrigue, and then stews it with Southern charm.
Better clear your table and grab a big bowl because small portions of this
tasty treat.....just ain't enough, Darlin'.

I have read many thrillers by Baldacci, Archer, and Coulter. When I read the first by M. A. Bonuso, I was very impressed. Every chapter leaves you wanting to read the next. The characters are very well defined and the story takes you on an exciting journey of mystery, drama, and romance. Strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers and mysteries. It will set you on a ride you don't want to end. Can't wait to read her next one.
