Prince Viper d’Rojah, a warrior from the Sarafin cat shifter species, is not happy when he is sent on a special mission by his older brother Vox, King of the Sarafin. The mission is to deliver important documents to the human authorities before kidnapping the sister and grandmother of Vox’s mate, Riley. 3.5 Viper’s Defiant Mate Stars
So this is book 2, and it’s the same world as the first, only it’s with Vox and Riley’s siblings.
I have to say I loved Viper and Tina’s story but I kinda liked Riley and Vox just a little bit more.
Oh does Tina put Viper though his passes.. It was hella funny and sweet how hard he fights to show her he wants her.
I love that he has to win over their grandmother as well. That was kinda sweet.
These females really don’t make it easy on a guy but what I love is that both males, really don’t give up. When they found there mates they did anything and everything to be with them and show them they are it for each other.
Swoony right! I know.
Great book, wonderful series, and the narrator awesome.

This novel has it all. Danger & suspense, heartache and redemption, out of this world adventure, and above all, love & sizzling chemistry! Smith’s vivacious characters are set off by her fun and adventurous writing style. She develops the world at hand in an exciting manner that allows you to experience it, rather than just reading about it. All throughout the pace of the plot never lets up, drawing readers completely out of this world.
Viper was one bitter and antagonistic dude. I loved seeing the scrapes that he got himself into. At the same time he was quite caring and fun. It was a unique mix that really made him stand out. Paired with Tina’s quiet persona that erupts into a flurry of action when a loved one is threatened this was quite the tale. And you can’t forget Pearl. I loved hearing about her in CHOOSING RILEY, but getting to know her was even more fun.
This novel was a pure pleasure to read. It easily stands out on its own among Smith’s work, while also tying in not only to this series, but into the entire cosmos that she’s created.

Wow! Another winner from S.E. Smith! I'm a little late to the party for this release but I finally made it and so glad I did! After reading a few of the reviews, I admit I was a little hesitant about purchasing this book but I'm so glad I ignored the bad reviews. I realize that everyone is entitled to their opinion, as am I, but I failed to see any merit to the criticisms made by several reviewers. I am not a professional reviewer but I am an avid reader and have been for the last 60 years. I know what I like, what I love and most definitely, what I don't and I LOVED this book! I've read every single release in the Dragon Lords of Valdier, Dragonlings of Valdier, Curizan Warriors, Sarafin Warriors and Magic New Mexico Series and have loved them all. This is an exciting, imaginative, humorous, heartwarming, well crafted and well written book. The dialogue is well executed, flows beautifully and at times, laugh out loud funny. Yes, this book has a great plot but it's the magnificent characters that totally stole my heart. They are captivating, intriguing, endearing, well developed, larger than life, sexy as sin and outrageously funny. They literally explode from the pages and capture your heart. I snickered, snorted, giggled and guffawed throughout the majority of the book but I also shed a few tears as well. But then, all of Smith's books have that effect on me and this one was no exception. If an author can tug on my heartstrings and make me cry while simultaneously warming my heart with healing love and laughter, she has most certainly succeeded in delivering an entertaining read. Isn't that what we all look for in a great read? To be truly entertained? And this book is divinely entertaining! Sure, maybe there were a few minor editing errors but so what? We all make typos and I noticed quite a few in the reviews making the criticisms. Hey, we're all human - I hope! lol... With an author who has a standard for excellence and proven track record like S.E. Smith, a few irrelevant errors should not be used to judge the overall quality of the story. Had there been tons of them, I could understand but there were only a few very minor mistakes. So my advice, ignore the bad reviews and read this book. I sincerely believe you will never regret your decision to read this one. If you enjoy Smith's extraordinary talent, exceptional skill, unique style, incredible worlds and fascinating characters, then you will surely love this book just as much as I did. What didn't I like about this book? Not a darn thing! What did I love about this book? Everything! Would I recommend this book? You bet and I am! So, buckle up my lovelies and prepare to be entertained with this enchanting story of another Sarafin Warrior finding his mate! When I read it first, I was not sure it could compete with Choosing Riley as it is so far my favorite book by S.E. Smith but it was a good surprise and a very great continuation in the Sarafin Warriors series.
After the incredible Riley, we meet her sister Tina and her grandma Pearl.
Just for Pearl’s rules, you have to read this book, but there is more than these rules for life and love.
Tina is not her big sister, but she is equally an awesome woman, so uses less her mouth and more her brain and fists, and she will stop to nothing until she knows where is her sister.
Viper is as first a royal @ssh0l€ at the beginning but faced with Pearl and Tina, he will have to understand rather soon than later that women are not always weak things to protect. He will learn his lesson the hard way but the more he will realize women are not some sub-human beings but amazing creatures to cherish and consider as equal.
The first part of the book was just hilarious, I can only say the aliens were not prepared to this first contact with some crazy not so damsel-in-distress women.
Then the second part was more about learning to trust and acceptance, less silly but still with laughing out loud scenes and some very tender moments.
I do love those big kitties, my inner lady-cat can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Really 3.5 stars.
Directly following #1 Choosing Riley, in fact overlapping at some points the action picks up with Viper, King Voxs' brother being sent to Earth to bring back Grandma Pearl & sister Tina as well as giving incriminating documents to the local law enforcement that Riley had obtained.
Much of the story takes place on Earth with lots of to-ing & fro-ing when Viper realises that Tina is his mate.
This one wasn't as good as the previous book, not bad, just not as good. There wasn't as much of a connection between the MCs.
Of course the traitors are still lurking around.
I'll be reading the next book when it is published.

This was the worst book I read by S.E. Smith. Viper and Tina were colorless. Tina and Pearls were plainly abusive, while Viper just took it. Not my types. And it lacked a plot, it just gets a little more interesting in the last 10/15% of the book.

I Loved This Book
Viper is an arrogant alien tiger shifter, a prince to his people. He is sent on what he considers to be a menial errand, bring his brother the king's sister-in-law and grandmother-in-law back to their world. But what Viper considers to be a piece of cake errand, turns out to be a lot tougher than he thought. This book cracked me up. Viper was put in his place so many times by Tina and her grandmother, I thought for sure he would run home with his tail tucked between his legs. But there were serious sides to the book too. Tina was in mortal peril from the same drug dealers and money launderers that threatened the life of her sister Rylie (in a prior book). And Viper's life and people are in peril from traitors back on his home-world. There were several plots brewing in this book, which made it a page turner! Great book!

Viper's Defiant Mate: SARAFIN WARRIORS BOOK 2 BY S.E.SMITH
Oh Yeah, I'm So going to be rereading this series again and again...it's that GREAT!! The first book with Riley and Vox was absolutely hilarious that you can't wait to read what she does next and to Vox or anyone else who has pissed her off...now Tina, Gramma Pearl aren't to be messed with and woe to Viper and anyone else who thinks that they can...which is continually cracking me up..there's also plenty of lovable moments with lots of HEAT!!! I'm so looking forward to seeing who is getting their hilariously filled trouble finding their way to get their own HEA....Hopefully it will be Toni and her warrior.

Another fun book by SE Smith!
One hot sexy alien male has no idea what he's in for when he travels to Earth to get his brother's mate, Riley's sister and grandmother. That he has no plans to leave them on Earth but to return with them to Sarafin. Let's just say they are nothing like Sarafin females. Shoot, they aren't like most human females. Viper is definitely about to be educated.
This story is almost all nonstop action and laughs. Yet it also has some tenderness, loyalty, family, and love. I love Grandma Pearl's "List of Rules" and her propensity to shoot first and ask questions later. She uses rock salt so it's more to teach a lesson and keep people in line. Not for out-and-out killing.
I highly recommend this book and series if your in the mood for laughs, and smile on you lips and in your heart.

Prince Viper D'Rojah is sent to earth to bring Riley St. Claire's sister and grandmother back to her new planet. In the meantime, Tina and Pearl (sister and grandmother) are trying to figure out what happened to Riley. I read this book first, although I was able to pick things up, reading them in order would be best. Viper finds Tina and Pearl right around the same time some bad guys (who Riley was running from) find them. There was lots of fighting, dart guns, chickens, salt shot and more! I like these books because there is humor along with an interesting story and characters. Grandma Pearl is a hoot!!!

Okay so I might be a bit biased because I just love S.E. Smith. However this book is what I expect from her. Action, drama, love, funny times and family. Grandma Pearl was one of my favorite characters from this book. I did love Tina and Viper as well. The fact that she did not swoon when she first seen him let me know that this courtship was going to be a fun one.
I am off to my next S.E. Smith book.

Okay, so.. story for me was a 3.5 rating. On Audible, narrated by David Brenin - a wholehearted 5!!⭐️ I am still debating if this is a favorite PRN 🐯 or not. I surely finished it all without pausing. 💗💕 And it surely is a story I will be reading in the future too 😊

This is Viper and Tina's story . Viper is sent to bring Tina and her Grandmother back with him since his brother mated Riley and she wants her family with her . Not believing what he was told about them he figured it was a easy job . Not !! I love the way that Tina and Pearl got him good !! This is well written and strongly recommended to all !! S.E. Smith does an amazing job writing about new worlds and love !!

Nicely done
Continuing in the series and tying up nicely with the other books I can’t recommend highly enough. Pure escapism and scI fi with the paranormal aspects. Love pearl the grandmother who is a real hoot, hopefully she gets a book if her own....
This book was about Riley and voxs sister and brother. Good read and so funny at times. Escapism folks but well written escapism.

Viper's Defiant Mate is the second book in the Sarafin Warrior series by S. E. Smith.
The universe is a lot bigger than you thought when you find out your older sister was kidnapped by aliens. Then rescued by other aliens and is now getting married. Your sister ruffled a few feathers with her boss before and now you are in danger. This is an amazing story with wonderful characters and all the feels. I loved it.

This was a fun quick read. Viper has to retrieve Riley's sister and grandmother from earth. He is not thrilled, until he realizes Tina is his mate. Traitors and the Heart of the Cat become the focus but the romance is fast and hot. I especially enjoy the miscommunication between species, very realistic.

Pearl's rules ROCK HARD and so does she. Viper isn't quite as clueless as Vox was but he's pretty darn close. Tina and Riley may be sisters but Tina isn't Riley and she doesn't really want to be. These characters are absolutely phenomenal, I fell in love with all of them. The plot and the writing are great. Wonderful story S.E. Smith!

Not as good as the first book in the series. Viper seemed like a badass in the first book but in this one, he's such a softie and there's no inclusion of his awesome assassin/spy life built into the story line. Kinda disappointed.

At least I liked it better than the first one. I didn’t find it very engaging though. Tina was a much more likable character to me than her sister was. I loved that Viper took the time to court her in the ‘human’ way. This gave me a better chance to appreciate their relationship.

Another good one.
I really enjoyed this book. I didnt much like Viper at first but he eventually changed and grew on me. This book was funny. The whole clan is a hoot. Hope Grandma Pearl finds a guy.

I like this one because Grandma Pearl is such a character and all the trouble that the aliens get into are because they underestimate the power of small females. Viper is more polite than the other males I've read about. These are great books and I can't wait to sink my teeth into more.

OMG! I love Grandma Pearl... she cracks me up. I really like that Viper could still be strong, yet have a tender side without the sappiness like his brother,Vox- who lost his menacing rep and was more bumbling idiot around his mate.
