This trilogy is one of the best I've read and the final novel is just as outstanding as the previous two. The various subplots are very strong on their own yet masterfully integrated into a great story that gets more engaging the further you get into the book. The author is very adept at capturing the inner thoughts and feelings of the characters. The whole aspect of war gaming was particularly interesting. This is a subtle cautionary tale of being too reliant on technology in a nuclear age. I highly recommend all the books in this series.

It was an ok book Published by Berkley Books in 1999. It isnt typically ny genre of books I read but I branch out once in awhile. A female NSA Agent is asked to investigate a missile attack on the USS Mahan. In my opinion, she isnt used enough in the book and it is a typical "what US agency is causing trouble for its own reasons", to start a war.
