Luke & Bella: Two Streets Over

Rate this book
Strong-willed ginger Bella Grant is a take-charge television journalist with an appetite for adventure. Handsome and sexy Luke McGillicutty is a world-weary photographer coaxed out of premature retirement with the promise of traveling the world with a smart, spunky redhead. They've been paired up to create a new brand of television travel program.

Traveling to romantic destinations, staying in first-class hotels, finding adventure at every turn, it's not surprising that the two fall in love. Luke is stunned to realize that Bella is the woman he's looked for his whole life. She's beautiful, smart, funny, and courageous.

The only thing is, Luke hasn't been completely up front with her. He hasn't told her that he's into BDSM. He could play it safe, keep the relationship going exactly the way it is. But Luke wants more. As a Dominant, he craves the intimacy that a Dom/sub relationship provides. And he knows without a doubt that Bella is the perfect submissive. How will she react if he approaches her about submitting to him as a Dominant? Maybe she'd be intrigued by the idea. On the other hand, he could lose her forever.

Life on the road working with Bella is great. Nights spent in Bella's arms are amazing. Should Luke just be satisfied with the way things are? Or should he risk everything on the chance that they could have it all?

Pandora Spocks is a classy romance and erotica writer. I'm not really a romance reader, outgrowing that phase many years ago, but I enjoyed reading every one of her books. Luke & Bella was what got me convinced. Have you ever wondered why people were so attracted to BDSM? This sexy but taboo and whispered about concept of domination and submission? Many people are interested in the topic, judging from the success of Fifty Shades of Grey. But only in secret. Me included. I've never really delved into the world of BDSM to try and understand the WHYs behind it.

I now understand the emotion and purpose behind Knee Time from this story. It was attractive and fascinating. And I have a better appreciation now of why some people are into it, and why some would try it if they had the opportunity.

Pandora Spock's characters are always professionals. Independent, strong-willed women, and attractive, accomplished men any woman would be happy to submit to. (Hold your horses, women's lib) Bella Grant, a journalist, and Luke McGillicutty, a photographer, were thrown together when they were both assigned to a new travel program. There was attraction, hyped up by the beautiful places they had to travel to for the show. But Luke had a secret. He was a Dom and he wants to make Bella his Sub. Will a woman like her agree to be dominated?

Even though it's erotica, there's nothing smutty about this book. As I mentioned, Pandora Spocks writes with class. Her writing is crisp, intelligent - it's hard to describe how a writing can be intelligent, you just feel it - and totally enjoyable. She's in a class of her own in the romance/erotica genre. If E.L. James was a better writer, she'd have written Fifty Shades like Pandora Spocks - and it would have been a better book.

“What light through over-yonder window breaks?”
Well, that light is clearly a very hot romance story that then went Two Streets Over into a sizzling tale of a couple exploring a “lifestyle” adventure together as they traveled the world. I loved the concept of a travel show as a setting for both romance and erotic play. It allowed for several interesting cultural venues for this deliciously told story. And of course, an ever changing hotel room. Bravo.
I found the dialog to be rich with humor and superb writing. The characters came alive in a very short number of words and then grew quickly into friends, that would be missed when the story ended. When you couple that with the two side romances, which were thrown in for added emotional spice, the whole story became a delight to read. Thank you, Pandora.

What a great love story (oops was that a spoiler?) The author pretty much described the perfect man in Luke, brown eyes, salt and pepper hair yumm, not to mention his background that instantly lets you know he is tough, no nonsense and rugged. It is apparent straight away that there is chemistry between Luke and Bella. Bella fantasizing about him on the plane and then the mix up with the hotel room really set the scene for what was to come. The inconspicuous cover hides how hot this book got and I must say i wasn't expecting such a sweet and spicy romance. I loved everything about this book, from the mentions of Bear Grylls to the fact the entire story was an adventure

A captivating, easy-to-read contemporary romance. This story is as cool as it is hot. It’s cool in that it’s smart, witty and not over-stated. An absolute must for any romance is to like and care about the characters. We certainly want to do that here, but more than that, we can easily believe who the hero and heroine are because they’re just like real people. Very cool…. As for hot – well it gets kind of steamy (smile). Actually I’d probably describe this one as sexy more so than steamy. It doesn’t always venture so far into the erotic action but it certainly teases the imagination, and this is a very sexy couple…. The fun adventure setting works too!

"Luke & Bella: Two Streets Over" was a fun read. It hooked me in from the start and I liked the easy-to-read style in which the book has been written. I found a great example of deep POV in this book when Luke looks at Bella through his camera lens since he is a professional photographer. Bella’s description through the camera was outstandingly done and what a fine usage of camera. Romance was good and overall the book was a light and fun read.

A sensual story with magnetic characters who come from two completely different worlds. I was able to connect with the characters as if they were real people and had trouble putting the book down. Back-story was excellent. The slow tension builds between the characters erupts into passion. I found the relationships to be very believable. Don't miss out on a fantastic read, get it now!

Delightful. This book is an absolute delight. The first half of the book is part sweet travel tale and part vanilla romance. Luke and Bella meet on the first day they travel together, and sparks fly from the very beginning as they go from country to country, documenting the lives of people instead of tourist destinations. As the romance blossoms, the author slips in subtle hints to their relationship moving in a different direction. He calls her "baby girl." He puts her wrists together over her head.

And then Bella asks just the right question, and Luke is forced to let his secret out--He's a Dom, and he thinks Bella is his perfect sub. She is shocked by the suggestion, which is probably the case for many subs, but she gets over it.

The characters are loveable all the way around, and there is enough drama outside of the relationship to propel the story, even without the romance, but the romance and exploration of a Dominant/submissive relationship are what makes this book unforgettable.

From the beginning, the characters seduce you. They aren't trying to, but they just do. The love story is simple and complex at the same time, and positively bewitching.

This book revealed to me a whole new side to the sub/dom relationship, making me think lots of writers are writing it wrong. I'm looking at you Fifty shades. There is never a point in the romantic and sexual relationship here that I ever think of as unpleasant or wrong. The main characters respect each other and develop a bond that plucks the heartstrings. The erotica is delicately written, and the romance beautifully done.

Further, the locals depicted in this book will blow your mind. It made me wish there was such a show as Two Streets Over, and I imagine someone at the travel channel is kicking himself right now for not thinking of it. The settings are smart, exotic, and detailed. You take the trip with them.

Pandora Spocks books are like good chocolate: smooth, sweet, and just dark enough to be interesting. As a fan of her Michael Rannigan series, I was eager to check out the book that started it all, and I was not disappointed. Luke and Bella are both suitably charming, with enough pain in their pasts to make them relatable and sympathetic even as they embark on expensive and luxurious travels for their work together. Their sexual relationship is of the BDSM variety, but not to worry: it’s nothing like 50 Shades of Abusive Behavior. The D/s angle adds a fun little kick, but it isn’t really the focus. It’s part of the relationship, not the whole thing. Luke and Bella is an engaging, well-executed, hot little read, perfect for summer vacation. Most enjoyable.

I loved this book! I am a huge fan of travelling, so I was excited to be taken a long for the ride to various cities, such as Edinburgh, Amsterdam, and even my person fave-Istanbul! The author clearly did a lot of research for her book to make each place culturally accurate and very exciting. I really liked how the characters developed their relationship together as they travelled throughout the world--and their romance was sizzling and exciting to say the least. I also liked the elements of suspense that were incorporated throughout the read. I look forward to reading future books by this author, and I highly recommend this book!

I am honestly and voluntarily writing this review for a book I received through ARC.

Luke and Bella are thrown together on an assignment. Charlie their boss thought it would be great to put these two together and do a travel show. The thing is they both don't know where they were going until right before the flight. They are going to Edinburgh to film the people and customs.

Their next destination is Amsterdam where Bella thinks it would be great pose as a storefront prostitute. Also go into writing he of the cafe where you can spoke weed because it's legal. Luke and Bella start to get close to one another.

Their next destination is Greece it takes a turn down another whole path. Bella and Luke are shown around different parts of the Island and the sponge beds. They profess how they feel and now was the time
for Luke to let out his secret. He tells Bella that he is a Dominant she was a little shocked but she decides to play as his submissive.
He teaches her ways of how it will be when they scene.

Bella father is sick so they make side trip to Alabama to see her father but he immediately started putting her down. Luke intervenes for her and tells her father what he thinks.

Luke gets a call from Charlie at the station he tells Luke that he and Bella are not going to Marrakech but to Saba. In Saba Bella and Like become much closer the scene player lasts longer.

The next destination was Buenos Ares. They get some beautiful shots of tango dancers and the local color next stop was Patagonia to a working ranch to owned by two ex-patsfrom America. Charlie called and the next stop would be Mumbai.

They arrive in Mumbai a short segment they took in the festival and dinner at a friend's family home. The last night in Mumbai they spoke about the time between seasons. Luke thought about going back to Florida and probably she would go back to Alabama not known if if their love will survive.

They are now off to Tokyo finishing the show segment their next stop would be Hong Kong. The show that the shot is and on its way to Charlie.
Luke was trying to give her room because she once told him she didn't want to get tied down. Plus he really didn't know how it would work both of them never really mentioned what would happen.

The next stop will be Istanbul. Istanbul was beautiful so they went through their usually sessions. Bella was thinking about asking Luke to stay with her but, she didn't want to look like they were moving to fast.

Next stop Spain to do an episode of Camino de Santiago. Also, the route part of the Way of St. James. Bella had her nephew T Nathan
meet there. Nathan stayed a couple of days they left to go home.
He met this girl Morgan they traveled together they go to meet Luke and Bella.

Their next stop was Sardinia. They met some women that always traveled together once a year. Having dinner Luke was taking video
sothey could put in the episode. Bella hadn't been feeling quite right
and while she was looking through her makeup case she came across her tampon case and saw that none were used.

Now Bella starts to panic she runs to the nearest pharmacy to get a pregnancy test. Bella had to wait until the next morning to use it and when she did it showed up that she was pregnant. She needed some air and since Luke was asleep she needed to get some air. Bella ran into the ladies from the night before. Tanya and Bella started talking and they decided to go out for some tea.

Bella finally broke down and told Tanya that she was pregnant and told her that she had not told Luke yet. Luke and Bella were on the phone when all of a sudden he hears Bella scream and then realizes it an earthquake. Luke had no idea where Bella was at the time of the phone call. Luke calls his friend Nevin and he asked him for help.
Nevin shows up with his team to find Bella and her friend Tanya.

Me in and his team eventually find Bella and Tanya covered under rubble. Bella proceeds to tell Luke about the baby and he told her that he found the test and he was happy. So happy in fact he proposed
to her. She couldn't believe it when he pulls out a ring she asked did he just buy it. Then he told her he had it since Argentina but was too afraid to ask just in case she said no.

She says yes at his proposal they were married two weeks later but, the story doesn't end there. There is so much more to the book and things you don't see coming.

This is my first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it.

Highly recommend

Loved It

This is the first Pandora Sparks book that I read and it won't be my last. I loved how we got to know Luke and Bella from the get go, and as a couple that grew through their work with each other. Luke helped Bella with her family problems and when her dad died and he couldn't go because he had just dived. This was extremely long but I don't think you'd be happy if it stopped any time but when it did it was a fantastic read.

Sweet romance with a twist. Two lost souls thinking they don't need anyone else, work is their life. You actually travel with them, feel the heat, happiness & sadness. You feel what they are feeling and think you know what will they will do next. The emotions of dysfunction are felt. Will the truth save them or end it all...read this book and fall in love (and hate) with all the characters. A MUST READ.

Read as part of a box set

Story was okay and so were the characters. The constant switching from POV are breaking the flow and there are some moral issues in it for me. The romance part was a (very, very) slow burn. All in all not a great read IMO.

Luke and Bella

What a dynamic duo from the beginning. Two wounded souls not in search of a relationship but a new job working together.

Once the relationship started the one neither was looking for was magic.

Good reading...

I absolutely loved this! Sexy, intelligent, and unique contemporary erotic romance. That's a lot of words to describe what is, in essence, a great love story. This one, however, combines a lot of elements in such a way that it is impossible to put down.

My favorite part of this story is the sensitive way Pandora Spocks describes Luke & Bella's D/s relationship. He is Dominant, yet totally caring, aware, and ready to accommodate her needs. She is submissive while also remaining strong, independent, and sassy. It's a perfect example of what D/s should be. (Which, I might add, shows all the more how many popular books are not...)

There are a lot of twists and turns in the story, all of which - you'll be relieved to know - are wrapped up by the end. If you enjoy a sexy romance, this one will not disappoint!

What a concept! Imagine the most intriguing travel television show ever wrapped up in an enticing sweet and spicy bundle of romance, and that’s what you’ll get with Luke & Bella. I’ve read a whole lot of romances, and this book instantly became one of my favorites. Nothing is better than a strong, irresistible hero with sexy salt-and-pepper hair paired with a feisty ginger in need of some “knee time.” This was a fun, exciting novel, a true gift to the reader. Why? Because it gives every woman a chance to explore and travel the world while falling in love with the most memorable characters ever.
