Author's Luke was previously published as the five-book Rain Shadow series. This edition has been revised and combined into one complete story — the origin of the Barringer Brothers world.
This is where it all an epic, 200,000-word rollercoaster of a love story.
I find a man dying in the desert.
Sunburned, half gone, one ear torn in two.
He can't remember his own name.
I should ride away. Strangers don't survive here.
I give him water instead.
He looks at me like I'm the only real thing left in the world.
I don't tell him whose granddaughter I am.
Dreygon Sharpe, president of the Bedlam MC. The most dangerous man alive, and the only family I've got.
The only way to save him is to walk him straight into the one place he'll never be safe.
I fall for him before either of us learns who he really is.
He pulls me close, a man with no past and nothing to his name.
"Not ever leaving here without you. I promise you that."

Luke: A Barringer Brothers Prequel KU, 691 pgs. ***.* (3.5 stars) Luke & Evangeline (Angel) Book 5 but prequel to the series. Angel, the granddaughter of the President of Bedlam MC, a very rough, violent and deadly bunch of me. Angel was raised there by her aunt Gracie, her mother’s sister, who wasn’t all there in the head, her mind didn’t progress past age 6, and her grandfather, the devil himself. Angel’s mother was schizophrenic and danced off a mountain when Angel was 10 yrs old.
Angel found Luke a few miles away, in the desert, barely alive. She got him on her horse and took him back to their compound where the men proceeded to torture him for information. Unfortunately, Luke had no memory of who he was, where is was from and why he was in the desert left to die. She was raised in an occult type MC where her grandfather was the President.
Luke & Angel, over time, fell in love but it was rough since neither was allowed to leave the compound of the MC. Very rough, torture, murders, beatings, etc were all throughout this book. That was fine, I love MC books but this wasn’t a MC series. Eventually, Luke regained his memory which made his situation that much more intense. The story was good but there were many parts that were a little boring and there was a lot of sex that I skimmed most of the time as I would have rather that time be spent building the relationship. The characters were easy to like except of course, the obvious ones.
It took me a while to read this book because I could put it down. I may come back another time to read the other ones but I need a break after this one.
This was one heck of a story. Love and drama and love and death and love and torture and again Love. Then you find out that the life you’ve lived wasn’t really your life at all but the love of your life discovered it, exposed it and introduced you to it. Of course there’s more drama and tears and Love again. Absolutely a keeper for me. These Barringer boys are all keepers. Thanks again for all your hard work on this and for sharing it with us. 🫶🏼
