Circus Olympusby Lindsay PriceComedy - Two Acts[6M 9W, expandable to 14M 23W]The circus has come to town! Well… sort of. There’s no elephant on a bicycle but there are the Greek Geeks and have they got a story or two to tell. More specifically, a myth or Pandora’s Box, Persephone and the Underworld, King Midas, Athena and Arachne, and don’t forget the Mythapalooza Slam Jam!A gleeful celebration with excellent large cast expansion and parts for all abilities. Circus elements are optional and are suggested for each myth.THREE different lengths are Two Acts, One Act, or a 20 minute Competition Piece.

I gave this play a 3/5 because it barely had some interesting parts in my opinion and also because it didn't grab my attention as much as the play we read before. I liked better the last play than the play we just read because it was way more interesting. The play, Circus Olympus, was about that the characters needed to be an actor for example; Zeus and Ishy and ,many more characters. One of the characters wished that he could turn what he wanted into gold and his wish got granted but then he didn't want that to be his wish anymore because everything he touched turned into gold even what he ate so he couldn't eat. I would recommend this play to a history teacher like Ms.Caufield because the characters in the play were the names of gods and relatives that we were learning about.
I like this book because it's a play and that we can read it in the class room and that I like to read the play in the class room because the world that we don't know then the teacher can help us with it and that whenever I read I think it's fun to read a play with your friends and that the best book that I like because it's funny and that we can just have fun.
My sister will be performing this play towards the end of April. The script is very amusing and filled with lots of humor. It’s well written and I know that middle-school/junior-high kids will really enjoy performing it! It’s educational while being extremely silly and creative. Younger audiences will love it especially, but older audiences will get a kick out of it as well. It features stories such as Hades and Persephone, Medusa and Perseus, Athena and Arachne, King Midas, Pandora’s box, and so much more. I’m looking forward to seeing the play!
This play had many stories of ancient greek gods and myths that many people from Greece believed and still believe today.Even though we are reading it of as a play they are in a circus presenting it as a play so it is like presentation of play in one. This was not one of the best play/books that I have read from my opinion.IT was a good play but I did not enjoy it as I do with others, many people might like it but it was not my type of book.I would recommend this to someone who likes plays and likes to read plays.
This book is amazing and a funny book. This book is about Greek gods for example Zeus. I wish I can read more book like this it is a battle book and a pass it on book.
I liked this play because it was about all the greek gods and how they had a circus but not with animals on bikes they just told stories and it was really funny. It was about the greek gods and how they were always fighting for everything and how they wanted a wish that would be that whatever you touched would turn into gold even if you kiss something but when he tried eating it turned into gold and he touched his daughter and she even turned into gold so he didn't want everything to get back to gold anymore. I recommend this play to everyone because it is a very good one and it was like maybe what the gods did before. It has also very specific details like how they feel and how they did it
This was a good and funny play! It's about a circus where the greek geeks act and tell greek myths. The greek geeks always choose a person to wear the top hat and whoever wears the hat will be Zeus. They tell so many great myths that sometimes things get a bit crazy in the backstage. The myths that the geeks tell are Pandora’s Box, Persephone and the Underworld, King Midas, Athena and Arachne, and also Mythapalooza Slam Jam. I recommend this book to people who like plays and also like greek myths.
I like this play because it has a few myths that they do a play about and My class read it together and we took turns to play characters, and I enjoyed it. Circus Olympus is a play that has many greek gods in it. They all act crazy in the stories especially Pandora Box that one it is all about crazy and it is very funny, also a bit of violence in a funny way. Because they hit each other with fome hammers and throw snakes but when your reading it and acting a person out you can't resist laughing.
I thought the book was really exciting because their were lots of sentences where they make you go, "Come on what's going to happen next" and I like those sentences. My favorite part in the play was When the Hedies took Persefani to the under world with him because he likes her. The part I didn't like in the book was nothing because the whole thing the best thing you could ever read. I would recommend this book to my friend Ester because she loves reading plays especially when it comes to love.
This book was about this evil greek god that his name is King Midas and Arachne tries to stop him. And there is this Pandora box at the end and it was filled with drama and some comedy.I liked this book because it was funny and there was I part that I didn't really like because it had drama and drama is to much for me. I recommend it to the next sixth graders because they might read it next year.
This book is about the gods and what were they were doing and the characters were funny in some parts of the story. And they also had a part where it was scary when the Pandora opened the box and it was scary because something bad could happen.I liked this book because it was funny and it was cool to hear them how they acted to some parts that were scary.I recommend this book to people that like to read books that have people that have passed away for a long time.
This play is about a group of circus people that were very humorous and talented. They were in desperate need to stop the play. Every time they read their line, they said,"Can we stop now?" They went out of character. I really like this play because it has a mix of love and very humorous lines that everyone can laugh at. It really cheers me up. I recommend this play to all the people that like plays and all the people who can take a laugh.
I will give this book 4/5 because it has a lot of good details, descriptions, and diagoule. The best part of the book is that everyone got to read at my class. Everyone got a part and a scene to read. But, the book was mostly about the greek gods in their lives back then. How many greek gods were like and how they acted. I recommend this book to the 5th graders because they could get their fears from reading out loud at the class.
Circus Olympus is one of those plays that works much better in action than it does in print. When I first read it, I thought it was fine. Some good, silly fun, but not much more than that. However, once we started rehearsals, we discovered how many opportunities the script provides for strong characterization and engaging ensemble work, as well as some really beautiful moments (particularly the end of Pandora's Box.) It's still one of my favorite shows I've directed.
What I thought of in this book was that this book was good and this book was weird a little bit. and this book was about the great geeks in this book. and some of these people inside of this book was acting crazy. and this book was talking about Athena and what the characters were doing inside of the book.
A circus is in town but it does not have tapestries or clowns or a dancing elephant. No, the geeks are here to tell myths about ancient greek gods meet the Greek Geeks. They will take to the beginning of Greece. Enjoy. I liked the play because it's humorous and interesting. I recommend this play to my friends because I think that they will enjoy the book ,too.
This book talked about all of the greek gods that lived in greek. It is a play that talks about like pandoras box. Hades,Zeus,Hera and more gods that you want to read about. I will say that I will recommend this book to anybody that likes greek gods but in a more friendly way that does not have that much mad stuff.
I think the book was ok because it had some funny parts and some that was just boring like that part when it was just more person talking and no one else that was a little boring and the funny part is when all the charters were blaming each other so they will not get in trouble.I would recommend this book to my cousin because he loves plays and he just never stops reading plays.
This book was about ancient Greek ''Gods" that were players, dumb, nerds, always angry, romantic, etc. At first everything was really calm then tricks, rhyming, angriness, etc. all of that was happening. When It was getting to the end of the story everything was really romantic. I would recommend this book to people who like stories that have everything.
I like this book its has adventures to go on and it's funny I like how the greek gods are all different and how they live . The book is about greek gods and greek geek and how they went on their adventure and live their life. I recommend this book to anyone because it's funny and adventure also so much more and i think they will like the book.
This play is about how people were acting as greek gods and telling stories, some were a life lesson and some were just meant to be funny and make you laugh. I liked this book because It was super funny and also it was, at parts, action like. I would recommend this play to people who like really really funny books with a hint of action.
This book is about greek gods who come to the circus to tell people there stories. I thought this book was really I thought that captured how the greek gods felt and what they described them as looking as. This book gives good details to how the characters feel and what they looked like. That is why I give this amazing book five stars.
The book was funny cause of Zeus he was so funny I thought that would be mean but he wasn't he was so funny in the book. my opinion on this book is that it should be made into a real book for kids to read. I would recommend this book to my brother because i bet he would like it so much.
This book was that they were like talking about the history of the gods. I would recommend this book to my old friend named Noe because he likes gods like Zeus. This book was great because it talked a lot about love and that.
The book was about a school trying to do a play. I like the book because it has funny parts, madness, and a lot of singing. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to make the play to real life.
The play/book was about different stories about greeks gods. Some of the stories were about how some disease came to be, how Persephone met Hades (or something like that...), how to king turned his daughter to gold, and etc. I would recommend to children.
I like this book because it was fun to read and I was interesting to me and I got to read this play and it a really good book I want to read more like it I will recommend this book to my older brother.
This play was about the greek gods doing their own stuff like having affairs and having family problems. This book was ok to me because it didn't have that much action in the scenes. I would recommend this play to people who like the greek gods.
This play is about people telling stories about the Greek gods and other stories like the story of King Midas. I liked this play because of the funny dialog in the lines of the actors. I would recommend this play to someone who is doing a funny play.
this book was about a play I don't really know the meaning of the boom it was just a funny play at the beginning but it started to become boring. I think the book was good but at the same time boring. I would recommend this book the next class of 6th grade 2016-2017
