Black Pine

Rate this book
Six months after the nightmare that shook Red Creek, life is beginning to move forward. Bailey is healing. Laurel is rebuilding. The people left behind are finding their way back to something that almost feels normal.

Almost.

As the holidays quickly approach, the pieces of another nightmare begin to surface. Two burn victims. A broken foster care system. Murder. Scars—some visible, others buried far deeper. A human trafficking operation involving prom night.

They seem like pieces from different stories.

They're not.

Something connects them. Something no one in Red Creek sees coming.

And by the time the truth finally comes together, the question won't be how it all began.

It'll be who survives?

**A Note About the Formatting**

I made one intentional formatting choice while writing my books that I'd like to share.

I intentionally chose shorter paragraphs and more visual breaks throughout the novel rather than filling every page with dense, margin-to-margin text. For me, this creates a faster pace and makes it easier to stay immersed in the story. It wasn't a formatting error or an oversight—it was a deliberate creative decision.

This book was written by someone with ADHD for readers who, like me, find heavily condensed pages harder to stay engaged with. My hope was to create a reading experience that feels inviting, fast-paced, and easy to settle into—one that keeps the focus on the story rather than the page itself.

I'm just trying to make reading a better experience for people like me with shorter attention spans.

Thank you for taking a chance on my debut novel. I hope you enjoy the journey through Red Creek as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Excellent read

I thought "27 Strands" was excellent, and "Black Pine" built on the development of the characters. Both books were hard to put down. Now I am waiting for Nellie's 3rd book.
