We return to P.I. Matthew Richter, currently a zombie, in the city of Nekropolis. In this case, he’s after a wand that turns things into silver, but before he can get far in his search he’s forced to use a coin to turn himself into a human. He’s got one shot now to back home to his significant other for their only chance at having a kid... but of course all of Nekropolis is out to get him (or so it seems).

Zombie Interrupted by Tim Waggoner is a novella set in the world of Matt Ritcher. This is a short interlude between books two and three and it explores a major plot twist in the life/unlife of our hero undead detective.
The story suffers from simply being too short. Everything is rushed and the ending really isn't one at all. Well, none of that matters because this is still a fun piece of the Matt Ritcher series and is still worth a read or a listen to.
I am a huge fan of Tim Waggoner and love the Matt Ritcher series.
Nekropolis is in another dimension where zombies, vampires, demons, witches, bloodborn, etc live.
Zombie PI Matt Richter is after a wand that turns things into silver. He is forced to use a magical coin that makes him human fir a day so he & his vampire/human GF can have a baby.
Once he’s human it feels like everyone is out to get him. He spends some time pondering the possibility of having a full human baby as he’s currently human.
Good short story. Campy, fun, good idea! I’d like to add the series to my TBR!!
Zombie Interrupted serves as a transition piece-we learn what happens between Dead Streets and Dark War, and it's a good thing as something big happens I would otherwise have missed. I think I'm beginning to suffer from burnout now I have stayed with the character of Matthew Richter too long. One more book to go.
