ARC received for review

Romantic suspense with a hot ex-military turned local law enforcement with so many emotional scars he's no good for anyone. Plus his best bud girl who of course has been in love with him since they were kids. Oh and a bad guy running around killing people. Rick was super sweet to Whitney, and yes, he took forever to realize he loved her too. If he was her best friend, she should have clued him in on what happened while he was overseas.

This is apparently a second book. The first one is Convicted. I think this one would have been a little easier to read if I had read the first one. He was hurt in the first one, plus there was a motorcycle gang they ran out of town.

Second in the series, WANTED is fine as a stand-alone. This was a new author for me, so I wasn't sure what I was getting. Romantic Suspense is touch and go for me. What I find most common is a lot of sex and very little story. WANTED is different .... the intimate moments actually add to the story.

Rick is a former marine. now working for the sheriff's department in his home town. Whitney is his best friend and has been since they were young children. Secretly, Whitney has been in love with Rick for years, but has never made a move in that direction. There are things that she has done ... things she's deeply ashamed of.

When the town's 'bad boy' is found murdered, all eyes look at his ex ... Whitney. Rick is caught between a rock and a hard place. He knows she's hiding something, but he sure doesn't want to arrest her for murder.

Rick is another damaged soul. He's lived through terrible things while in the Marines and he doesn't feel he can offer anyone anything. But as he investigates the murder, he draws closer and closer to Whitney.

I like strong characters .. the ones who strive to be better, not only for someone else, but also for themselves. Rick and Whitney are both strong. I liked watching them take small steps toward each other. I could see the hesitation, the fear they would be judged by the other.

All in all, a good read. One murder turns into three murders and the ending was exciting. Definitely worth the time reading.

My thanks to NetGalley / Entangled Publishing for supplying an ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

Wanted by Dee Tenorio is the 2nd book in the Deadly Secrets series. Story begins with the murder of one Brody Roberts, a murder that signals to the former Marine Rick Trelane that this is just the beginning of something deeper and darker than what it seems to be on the surface. Brody’s murder is of significance to Rick because of Brody’s “relationship” with Whitney Peterson, the woman whose existence remains the reason for Rick’s sanity, his best friend & the only person alive who could stir him into giving a damn about opening himself up once again.

Whitney holds secrets in her heart. Emotionally dark secrets that she has no intention of sharing with Rick and burdening him with. As it is, Rick holds the weight of the world on his shoulders. The shadows in his eyes, the darkness that he holds close to his heart is one that dissipates rarely, showing glimpses of the man whom Whitney has given her heart to, a long time back.

Reluctance is the name of the game when it comes to Rick. Reluctance to face what Whitney means to him, reluctance to expose himself to feeling anything that could devastate his world all over again. Reluctance to let Whitney in and face head on the explosive, world shattering variety of desire that connects them.

With the body count beginning to rise, Whitney gets promoted from being just a person of interest to a suspect that the police needs to bring in for questioning. And the only one that stands between Whitney and wrongful prosecution is Rick himself, willing to forgo every value that he has promised to uphold in his quest to root out the corruption that had darkened the doorways of the community.

Wanted is a story that contains elements which combined together definitely makes for a page turner. Rick himself is deliciousness redefined. Seeing Rick through Whitney’s eyes was a huge turn-on, the man being just a walking, brooding version of sex on a stick. Whitney is the heroine who is tough enough to nudge Rick towards the road of recovery. Haunted by a past that was earth shattering when it came to light, Whitney’s character just makes you want to bring out the pompoms and cheer her on. I was never more so proud of Whitney than the moment she decided to pursue Rick, to take matters into her own hands so to speak, even with all the memories of a past that continues unleash its claws on her, more recently of late.

Though the villain was not that hard to figure out, the twists that Dee provided towards the culmination of the story proved to be enticing enough to keep me riveted. Only thing more I could have asked for would have to be more scenes of passion between Rick and Whitney. Ones that would have “reaffirmed” the sexiness that defines all that is Rick Trelane.

Loved the thread of humor interwoven with the fabric of the story. One of the reasons that I love Dee’s voice so much is that she has the right touch of sarcastic and witty combined that gives the reader that much needed breather from the rest of the intense stuff happening in the story.

Wanted is a story that deals with difficult subjects with a high degree of sensitivity. The concept of therapy, moving forward, finding happiness; all this gives that much needed hope to anyone who might be going through a tough time in their lives. After all, that’s what romance novels are partly about. They fuel our dreams & hopes of a love that would never abate, will be reciprocated & withstand the test & ravages of time

Recommended.

My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed

Former Marine Rick Trelane came back from war scarred inside and out, only to find his hometown overrun by a violent motorcycle club. Although the biggest threat to his home has now been eradicated, Rick still cannot find peace. The lone bright spot in his life is his friendship with Whitney Peterson. That friendship is one Rick will do anything to protect – even deny their growing mutual attraction to one another.

Then a dead body shows up and all signs point to Whitney being the prime suspect. It becomes clear that the woman Rick thought he knew inside and out has secrets, ones he’ll have to uncover if he is to protect her from an unknown danger. The closer he and Whitney get, the harder it is for Rick to deny his true feelings for her. But if a killer has his or her way, neither Rick nor Whitney will live long enough to see if their relationship can survive turning from friends to lovers.

Wanted is dark and dangerous with a healthy dose of sexy goodness thrown in. Dee Tenorio knows how to blend suspense and steam, and this second Deadly Secrets novel has both in spades.

Rick is a hot as hell undersheriff who has held those he cares about the most at a distance since returning from war. He’s scarred physically and mentally from his time as a Marine and he truly believes he can’t be the kind of man Whitney deserves. Of course, he’s completely wrong, and Whitney sees right through his shields to the man within. She’s smart, kind, and giving – wonderful characteristics that endeared her to me as a reader but qualities that shine all the more brightly once you see what she has survived. Rick isn’t the only one with horrors in his past and one of the great things about Wanted was watching both he and Whitney heal over the course of the story.

Individually, Rick and Whitney are fantastic characters, but as a couple they’re dynamite. I love a good friends-to-lovers tale and Wanted is an excellent one. Ms. Tenorio infuses their burgeoning romantic relationship with heartfelt emotion and serious steam – what’s not to love?

Outside of Rick and Whitney’s romance there is a murder mystery that adds a great amount of suspense to the story. Bodies are turning up in Marketta and Whitney is the prime suspect. I loved watching the pieces of the puzzle fit together and Ms. Tenorio does an incredible job of keeping the action engaging while seamlessly blending the suspense with the romance. Wanted is every bit as good as the fantastic first Deadly Secrets novel, Convicted. I love this series and I hope we get to return to Marketta soon – there’s an intriguing medical examiner whose story I desperately want to read!

ARC REVIEW

A Deadly Secrets novel by Dee Tenorio, I believe is the second book in the series. The first book Convicted, which I have also read. I liked this one a bit more then the first and aside from being painfully predictable it was a very good romantic suspense. This is a dark romance I need to throw that out here now it deals with some pretty bad things in Whitney's past. There is a nice flow to Tenorio's writing style and even paced suspense that doesn't slow down. The characters have tortured pasts that really make you route for them and want to smack them when they are being stupid.

When we first met this small California town it was over run with a horrible biker gang. Rick Terlane returns home and is determined to clean it up and with marine buddy Cade Evigan and undercover DEA agent and hometown girl Katrina Killan to help they successfully wipe the gang out. Now time has past and the residents are still trying to move on past their past. Cade and Kat happily together and a clean run Deputy department and everything seems like it going back to normal until the one of the former corrupt Deputies ends up shot dead and all the circumstantial evidence points to one person Rick's best friend Whitney Peterson

Whitney has been in love with Rick since forever, but she can not share what she thought she had to do in order so protect her mother and her niece. I t's her dirty little secret to carry around with her forever, or so she thought when the man behind it all ends up dead and she is the number one suspect. One more body shows up and Whit and Rick are stuck between a rock and a hard place as their feelings and sexual attraction get in the way of Rick trying to find out the truth. Whit knows she should trust Rick with the information but is afraid that when he finds out he will no longer look at her the same way again let alone be able to love her. Rick starts off not wanting in any relationship because of the incident that ended his military career but the more trouble points to Whit he grows more protective and realizes his feelings are stronger than he ever thought. But is the old adage right will the truth set you free? Or will Whit be right and it ruins everything she has worked for including her love for Rick.

***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review****

This is a romantic suspense about the local law enforcement guy who has to investigate his friend (girl) for murder causing feelings, strong feelings between them. The girl has been in head over heels in love with him for many years and feels so betrayed that he would believe that he would believe this of her. Rick was in the military for years and when he got out, he came back and went to work in law enforcement in his town. There was his friend Whitney and their friendship was as tight as before. Whitney has a sister named Alison that she takes care of. Whitney is accused and killing an ex boyfriend and Rick is the investigator assigned to prove that she is the killer.

The more he investigates, the more secrets he finds out about his best friend and the desires he finds that she has for him …and oh so much more she has been hiding. Rick finds out how she protected him when he was around before and even now she is covering for him, protecting him at her peril . Someone is trying to frame Whitney or Whitney did the killing- that is driving Rick crazy- does he allow a murderer go free to protect the woman he is falling in love with. So many twists and turns in this story. The story starts out with one sided love and by the end so much passion, craziness, suspense. I was on the edge of my seat and omg Rick is one hard nosed Alpha and Whitney is such a sweet woman-I could feel how she has been trying to keep herself held together for so long but it was by a thread. Sweet, passionate, kind and all too trusting when maybe she shouldn’t be and has some horrors from her past- which Rick may have some horrors in his past of a different kind. This is book two of the Deadly Secrets series—I think possibly reading book 1 may have helped some but this could be a standalone.

I recommend this story because it has the suspense, mystery, romance and hot passion that readers look for in today’s reading and the author has it here.

My rating: 4.2 stars ****

Rick Terlane is the under sheriff and a former Marine. In his home town where Whitney Peterson who has been with him since childhood and they have always been friends. But since he has come back from the war he has had a dark side to him plus after cleaning up the town from an outlaw biker gang that landed him months in the hospital and rehab, he still feels he has let her down because one guy while he was gone got to Whitney. She won’t tell him what happened but one that guy turns up dead it points to her. He does not want to think that she would do anything like murder but then a second body shows up and that one has ties to the first. During the investigation they find a web site that uploaded videos of all different kind including some women being raped. He is now wondering if she in fact is one of those women and just how many more are there. When he starts putting his job aside for his lifelong friend he is torn inside and must find the proof to clear her name because he is realizing that he is falling in love with her. She knows that she is in love with him but does not want him to do anything to lose his job. Really they are both fighting for each other and so are you. There are some twist and turns and when you find out who the killer is by then you really couldn’t care for what these men were doing but it does not stop there for Rick is shot and now you are wondering if they will get together. Read the book to find out. A good story. I got this book from net galley.

I do so love to pick up a novel that has ex military hunk as main character who is now still in the business of the law. having many of a scar now keeping his distance is what he thinks is best for everyone. There is one though that still can and does get under his skin and that is Whitney. She though has been taking care of herself for a while plus taking care of Alison. Only she sees the good in her while everyone else has given up on her. This author will take you on a suspense filled ride when a ex of hers turns up dead with Rick in the investigation he will think he is still trying to protect her but some things are beyond that. Actually she Has been the one protecting others and ater the first of more the truth will come out just what went on with why there is suddenly death that keeps calling. This will also be the door that opens up a new level in their relationship that now time has come for them to face that there is more to them. Mending fences will also be in order in this for hurts to heal. The twists and turns this author will take you will keep you captivated to keep plowing forward till you get all the answers especially when it will seem she is the main suspect. She will then turn around and bend your mind with who really is the one who pulls the trigger. Exceptional reading not to be missed.

****An electronic copy of Wanted by Dee Tenorio was generously provided to me by freakin' Maya Banks because she's just awesome like that. Thank you, Miss M!

This is my first Tenorio's book and I pretty much enjoyed it. 3.5 stars, though. It's just this close to be my favorite.

Whitney knows and has a crush on Rick, for a long time. But Rick always treated her like a kid sister. Now when Whitney become suspect of a murder, Rick has to do something. But the thing is, when he starts looking for clues, he realize that Whitney held so many secrets..

Again, I liked this book. The plot, the writing, the drama, I enjoyed them all. But since I read this book right away without reading the previous one, Cade's story, I feel like I'm behind on something. And that's a bit sucks. There are so many things happened with Whitney's past that lack of details and it left me unsatisfied. I love Rick, though. He's a typical law enforcement Hero that I always adore. I hope there's more "romance" zings in this book but overall, a good one!

Look forward to read Cade's story and thank you so much Miss Maya Banks for gifting me this book without me winning anything. I really appreciate it! <3

This was definitely a darker romance than I expected. I am not a huge fan of the topic of rape and a lot of this book was centered around it, so it took some getting used to. While I wasn't a huge fan of that part of the story, their love story was really sweet. They were both very damaged people but they were perfect for each other. They shut the world out but not towards each other. It was nice to see the character growth in them both. I wasn't surprised by the reveal of the killer but I expected that.

Wanted...Not so much but I'll take it.

This is the second book in the Deadly Secrets series and overall a pretty good stand-alone read. However, the real excitement is in the last five chapters of the book when the pieces begin to lock in place.

Rick Trelane and Whitney Peterson have been platonic friends for over thirty years while dancing around their attraction to each other. Now that Rick is home for good and serving as the Undersheriff, maybe he and Whitney can get things right this time. Although Rick is just as scarred and suffering from PTSD as his friend Cade. Unfortunately, he and Whitney will have an uphill battle getting together as she is working through her own deadly secrets and PTSD issues from a past relationship, or rather as she says: "It was never a relationship. More like a hostage situation."

Things have settled down nicely in Marketta since the Wheels of Pain were driven out of the town two years ago but that doesn't mean the crime has come to a standstill. So when one of the last remnants from the Wheels of Pain era, former sheriff's deputy Brody Roberts, is found dead outside a club full of bullet holes, the town must again hold its collective breath wondering who killed Brody so violently and will more bodies follow. As the bodies begin to pile up riddled with bullet holes, the suspects are both likely and unlikely but one of the suspects Rick refuses to believe could commit such heinous crimes, sweet and innocent Whitney.

The clock is ticking and Rick will use all his resources to prove Whitney is not the stone-cold killer the rest of the town and sheriff's department is starting to believe she is though Whitney has the most motive to want Brody and two other men dead.

A bit on the predictable side if you are paying attention. All the flags and warning narrow the suspect down to one truly damaged person.

Heather's review from Smut Matters

Rick Trelane and Whitney Peterson have been close friends their entire lives. Whitney is the one thing in his life Rick can count on to be there, and to be stable - she's his rock. Since coming back from his last tour of duty, she's been the one constant. But she's hiding something from him for the first time in their lives. He knows it has something to do with her ex. Brody Roberts, a former cop and current member of the Wheels of Pain, the MC Rick and his fellow cops have been trying to take down. When Brody winds up dead, Whitney is an obvious suspect. And when Brody's cohorts in some shady dealings also start showing up dead, Rick knows he has to get to the bottom of Whitney's secrets.

Best-friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes. I don't know why. There's just something about a couple who everyone can see is in love finally realizing it for themselves. In this case, Whitney is well aware of her feelings for Brody, but he has no idea how either of them felt. Once he starts to figure it out, he does his best to discourage Whitney in her feelings. Not only because she's technically a suspect in the murders, but because he feels that he's no good for her. He thinks that she would be better off with someone with fewer scars, both physical and emotional. Whitney has no such silly ideas and sets out to do everything she can to show Rick how great they'd be together.

This was a quick, fun read. (I got through it in one sitting). I didn't really agree with either Rick or Whitney fully. I thought Rick was wrong in his insistence that they weren't good for each other (his reasoning for it, anyway) and I thought Whitney should have been more open with Rick about what was happening with Brody, especially since Rick was a cop in a position to helpe her. I don't think anyone reading this would be convinced Whitney was our killer, and I thought it was pretty clear who was, which was a little disappointing. There wasn't a huge cast, though, so there weren't that many people to pick from. There was also a thread about someone in Rick's past that was brought then dropped without ever really being explained. I would have liked a little more fleshing out of that; I'm still not completely sure what was happening with that.

This is the 2nd book in the series. The couple from the first book, Convicted, show up here a few times, mostly the hero of that book, Cade, who is Rick's best friend and a fellow cop. That story sounds interesting, too, and I think sets up some of Rick's backstory a little better, so I'd recommend reading that one first. Overall, I enjoyed this and look forward to more from Dee Tenorio.

This was another quick romantic suspense from Dee Tenorio, and it takes places several years after the conclusion of Convicted. Our war-torn hero in this installment is Rick Trevane, who ended up with life-threatening injuries in the first book. Rick and Cade were part of the same unit in the Marines, and joined the Sheriff's Dept to clear the corruption from Rick's hometown. Like Cade, Rick has turned off his emotions and is just existing day-by-day. Losing his high school sweetheart, Shana, to the witness protection program in Convicted only further damaged this broody vet. Since Rick has been back, he has had a hard time acclimating to civilian life and people he knew before the war. He is estranged from his father and his only real friend (besides Cade) is childhood pal, Whitney Peterson.

Whitney has been in love with Rick forever, but she always knew she didn't have a shot. She has been through something horrific, and is a bit of a tortured heroine herself. Those around her don't realize this because she is so positive and is always taking care of those around her, sometimes to the detriment of herself. I really liked Whitney, and its a shame it took Rick so long to open his eyes to what was right in front of him. She was sweet and caring, and I hated what she went through.

While the suspense aspect of this book was a bit predictable, it didn't detract from the story. Once Rick opened his eyes, it was all in for him and Whitney and their relationship moved along at a pace that worked with the book. This one was quite as steamy as Convicted, but it made up for it with the depth of emotion that it invoked. Trust me, this one is a tear jerker. I think I cried for the last 40% of the book. I also loved Rick's dad, Richard Sr. He was a great secondary character.

Dee Tenorio is a new-to-me author, but I will definitely read more of her in the future. I received an advanced copy of this book from Entangled through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. 4 stars / 3 flames.

This was a wonderful quick read that I enjoyed very much. I loved the old characters from the first book but loved getting to know the new ones that had me wanting to hug them tightly.

These two characters are suffering from something that happened to them but they both have not been able to overcome the ordeal. Rick Terlane was a Marine and now in law enforcement but his demons have been tormenting him. Then there is Whitney Peterson a woman that lived with her niece but something dramatic happened to her and I knew it was not going to be pretty. She lived with her mother and then her niece since her mother left her but her mother ended up passing away and now it was only her and her niece. Alison was a young girl that had some anger issues because her mother did not pay attention to her and to her didn’t love her. Whitney tried to make the best of living with her and did her best to keep out of her way when Alison lost her temper. Rick is busy trying to find out who killed Brody a man that was not liked and lots of people wanted him gone. But as they are investigating his death another body is found and it seems that it is the same person. When Rick questions Whitney about Brody and the other victim it seems that not only did she have an encounter with Brody but she also knew the other victim. Rick knew that Whitney couldn’t have killed them both that there had to be another person out there that wanted them dead. They end up finding a lead but when that comes to a dead end they have one more suspect that’s if they find him. In the mean time we have Rick and Whitney getting closer and Whitney makes him forget that terrible day and replaces it with good moments or should I say passionate moments. It seems that for the first time Whitney is able to get a good night sleep and she hopes that the nightmares are gone but when they return she knows that she needs to do something.

Wanted is full of twists and turns that will have you second guessing yourself well maybe until almost at the end of the story. These two characters have this chemistry that just explodes when they are together. I love that this story is told in both of their POV’s and that they both end up opening up about their demons. I know that together they will be able to overcome whatever comes their way.

I totally recommend this read!!

First, thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing me a copy of this title to read in exchange for an honest review. This is my first novel by Dee Tenorio and I am glad I stumbled across it. Which I can thank Entangled and NetGalley for. While looking up something else this book popped up. And, the cover caught my attention. Yes, I am one of those people. I literally judge a book by its cover. As well as its blurb. Romantic Suspense is my guilty pleasure. I LOVE a good ‘who done it’ mystery. Add in epic characters and a great story line and I am in.

I have to say though it did start off a tad slow for me... even with a murder right off. There were a few times where the story got slow but I tried to trudged through them. There are a few spots where I think more should have been said or done to give you more insight on what was happening. As an avid reader/lover of Romantic Suspense I have a good understanding of what a character is ‘supposed to do’ but each book's different. As each author is different so I was hoping there was a little more but that does not take away from what was there.

I fell in love with the brooding, dark tempered ex Marine, Rich Trelane from the first page. There is just something about him that made me want to hug him… then smack him. (laughs) His mom died a few years earlier, he and his father were estranged and his best friend.. well he didn’t know if (or if he did he ignored it) loved him. Everything started the day off wrong and now Rick’s day was spent in misery after he had to tell his friend, Whitney, that the man she was dating was dead. To his surprise she was glad. May look bad but he was a douche and she was better off without him. But with him dead, she is in the mix of the ‘who done it’ and as always wanting rick. He fights it, she fights to keep it out of her mind. They are both ticking time bombs… just waiting to explode…

And then... it all just kind of stopped. The story, for me was like a fish out of water. I really hate to say that. It was just flopping then died. I had to DNF @ 32%. I tried multiple times to pick it back up adn start again but all that did was make me want to junk punch the characters and toss the book because its the same thing over and over again. I may try to get back into it at a later time.. for right now though I'm just letting it sit.

If you enjoy romantic suspense or friends to lovers stories this is definitely worth checking out! The hero is Rick Trelane, a former marine who is now the under sheriff. His best friend from childhood has always been Whitney Peterson and it is only after her ex-lover is murdered that he starts digging and discovers she has secrets that he slowly reveals. The only problem with this is the more he finds out the more attracted to her he becomes and the more she is implicated as the murderer! He’s caught between a rock and a hard place and more people are being murdered . . .

This story has strong, well developed characters with dramatic events from their past and especially from when he was away in the marines having a potentially negative impact on their current and future lives, especially as they fear the reaction of the other should these events become known. Their tormented pasts make you want to protect them but they aren’t the only ones - there are other victims in the story, including women who are filmed being raped, so it isn’t an easy light hearted story by any stretch of the imagination. However, through it all the two are actually fighting to protect each other and as more revelations occur the stronger their love for each other grows.

This is a dark, well written story with so many secrets, twists, turns together with plenty of angst and turmoil that it truly is a roller coaster ride, totally engaging and full of suspense as well as romance. It is the second book in the series and I haven’t read the first but still thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.

I adored this book and couldn't put it down. I started it earlier this evening and stayed up late to finish. I love suspense books that have deeper emotional issues to get caught up in. I want the danger, the action, and the chemistry, but I like for the characters to seem like real people with real emotional issues. This author managed to pull all of that into this story. I was especially hooked by the best friend angle mentioned in the book's description. Whitney and Rick had been friends for most of their lives. Whitney always wanted more but never let on. Rick had always loved and protected her, but had no idea how deep his love was until he was faced with losing it.

Rick is working on law enforcement in his hometown after returning from a disastrous mission in the middle east while in the military. He has determined to rid his town of the criminal enterprises which have taken over with the help of his friend, Cade. Cade apparently had his own story, but this book was my first experience with this author. Whitney is living in fear but covering it up with smiles and kindness. Everything in this story comes to head when the subject of Whitney's nightmares is found dead, and she becomes a primary suspect.Rick is willing to risk his career to clear Whitney's name, but remains afraid to risk his heart or understand how much he truly is wanted by her.

I will definitely have to look for Cade's story now since I really liked his character in this story.

I received an ARC for review from Net Galley.

If you enjoy a good romantic suspense packed with action, this book is for you. Rick Trelane, the Undersheriff must investigate his friend, Whitney, after her ex-lover turns up dead. Investigating Whitney for murder, he gets glimpes of a woman he thought he knew, but there are secrets that she has been keeping and as Rick keeps digging his attraction not only grows, so do his suspicions.

Rick is faced with a hard decision as to let a killer go free in order to protect Whitney or does he keep digging? With so many twists and turns, the action and suspense keeps readers on their toes.

This is the second book in the Deadly Secrets series and while it can be read as a stand alone, I think it's better to read the first book, Conviction, beforehand in order to give a backstory.

The feelings between Rick and Whitney are very real and the sexual tension is prominent as Rick tries to work through the mystery and secrets surrounding Whitney. Whitney, who has always been in love with Rick, has secrets that she must keep, even if she's keeping them from Rick. I loved how strong both characters were and how genuine their emotions were also.

Tenorio blends the perfect amounts of suspense, romance, mystery and action to create a great story that kept me on the edge of my seat. My only complaint was that it was a little too predictable at times. Regardless of that, it was a still a very good read.

My Review:
Wanted is book two in author Dee Tenorio’s Deadly Secrets series and takes the reader on a great romantic suspense journey filled with emotion and suspense.

I really enjoyed the small town feel of this book and the two main characters, Rock and Whitney. Their friendship has lasted for years and remained strong throughout Rick’s career in the Marines, other relationships, family drama, and the normal trouble that comes along with meddling small town residents.

The one thing they both kept to themselves, though, was their mutual attraction. It had never been the right time in the past to start something and certainly now wasn’t either considering Whitney’s ex had just shown up dead and Rick was the town undersheriff. But sometimes those high-emotion stations are just what people need to come together and when Whitney and Rick do, it is smoking hot. The years they've built between them adds so much fire to the fuel and I loved it so much.

But, I have to say hands down, my favorite part of this story was the mystery surrounding the murder and who, ultimately, was responsible. It was a total “whoa” moment and one I hadn’t seen coming, SO while the heat and emotion were fantastic, the “whodunit” was the star of this book.

I do want to mention is that I hadn’t read the first in the series and I wish I had. I think I would have been more connected to the characters if I had.

Thank you, Ms. Tenorio, for an amazing read!

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

I loved that his book centered around a hot ex military hunk named Rick who had demons. Big large ugly demons that even though he went about his life trying to help those in his home town they still haunted him. The only time they left even for just a second was when he was around Whitney. She was his saving grace and has been for years even if he never realized it.

When a murderer comes to town, Rick quickly realizes that life is short and soon he's not only trying to catch a killer but also trying to clear Whitney as the main suspect. It really doesn't help that Whitney isn't willing to let anyone in on what happened to her years ago. Soon the skeletons come out of the closet and no one's safe.

There was so much depth and emotion in this book that the author hit spot on. Especially with dealing with such harsh topics that are hard to read about such as rape and PTSD. The way this author brought these issues to light and how Whitney and Rick went about helping each other deal with them made this book a great read.

One of the other aspects about this book that I loved was the fact that the author was able to keep me on my toes with guessing who the murderer was. In a lot of books I can guess the plot line easily, so to be taken completely by suprise made this book really enjoyable to me.

Could.Not.Put.It.Down. That is exactly how I am starting this review. There was so much going on in this book that I seriously could not put it down. I was so anxious to see what was going to happen next, that I had to keep reading. Ms. Tenorio did a wonderful job of bringing together two people that were truly always meant to be together.

Rick never knew Whitney wanted him, how much she lusted after him and wanted to be taken care of by him. But once he begins to realize there is more to Whit than what meets the eyes, he can't stop seeing her in a whole new light. When they finally give in to their desires, it was H.O.T.!!

However, their happiness is short lived when people around Whit start to die. Can Rick keep her safe while proving she has nothing to do with the crimes? Can Whit keep her past hidden from Rick so her darkness does not touch him? In order to find out, you need to read this hot read. I promise you will not be disappointed.

This was a great book with the right amount of heat and suspense. I can't wait to read what Ms. Tenorio has in store for us next. If it is anything like this one, it will mean another late night for me as I will not be able to put it down until I consumed it all!

Rick and Whitney have a lot to overcome in Wanted. Whitney is keeping some pretty big secrets to herself and Rick has some of his own that are coming out in the open. Whitney does not want Rick to over know what happened to her with her ex Brody, but after his death things start coming to light. Rick is investigating his death and finds information that has him struggling to contain his rage and guilt. Whitney has spent her whole life trying to see the good in others and helping them out and it has cost her big time when Brody became fixated on her. He wouldn't take no for an answer and used every trick in the book to get her to do what he wanted. Whitney is willing to go to her grave with the knowledge of what he did and Rick never finding out. Rick is beside himself with facts start coming to light that point at Whitney being a potential killer and finds himself having to face his feelings for her. It was well written and the plot kept me turning the pages. Have enjoyed both books in this series, although this one does have some scenes that could be triggers for some people.

This was a good romantic suspense drama. The relationshiop between Whitney and Rick started when they were very young and it seemed to only be friendship. As the years went by their lives took different turns, both lived through horrors and neither had a committed relationship with anyone else. Rick's story touched on a person in his past but we didn't get to read too much about that one. It seems they were both waiting for each other but because of the horrors they both lived through, they could only dream of being together.

There were times while reading that I was hoping they would both wake up and see each other as they truly wanted to. There were many suspenseful moments and a few twists that I didn't see coming.

All in all a well written book with strong characters and a good plot to sink your teeth into. Thank you Netgalley and Entangled publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is a heartbreakingly sorrowful yet intensely compelling book to read. There is so much torment and brokenness for both Whitney and Rick. But there is a beautiful love and friendship underneath their broken layers. They help and soothe the other. It is quite beautiful how they depend on one another and also protect each other fiercely. I felt so much for both.

The storyline was a dark one faced with tough situations and lots of twists. I was shocked how Dee ended the story but at the same time it worked really well. I had read the first book in this series and this one did not disappoint just like the first one did not either. Dee is a phenomenal writer who keeeps you hooked into her stories. I look forward to reading more in this series.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

If you are sick of the painfully predictable romantic suspense avoid this book. Since I didn't read the first book I found myself lost while reading . It is a dark romance and Whitney deals with very painful past. The author Dee Tenorio writing isn't bad she has a decent flow and well paced suspense. With that being said the characters have a tortured pasts I am so sick of reading and want to hit the author as well as the characters for falling back on the same old story that has been told a million times without making it unique. Lets face it at one point you want to smack the characters because the route they take in the story as they are being stupid.
If you are looking for the same old story of the dark romantic suspense and tortured soul this is your book. Nothing stands out to me setting it apart in this genre.

This book was really good. This is the second book in the series. I haven't had the chance to read the first one yet. But I did understand the story and the characters background with no problems. Wanted was actually my first time reading a military romance novel and I will be looking for more military romance in the future to read. Rick is ex military turned into being in law enforcement. He and Whitney were best of friends when they were kids. He is investigating a murder that happened and maybe connected to Whitney. Things start to fly between these two and their feelings start to progress more. This book is highly recommended if you like a strong ex military turned law enforcement hot guy then this book should be for you to try.

I thought this was an amazing story! While it can easily be read stand alone, it is definitely more enjoyable if you've read Convicted, the first in the series. In this book we get to know Whitney Peterson, Rick Trelane's lifelong friend. Now it seems he wants her as much more than a friend but she has secrets. Secrets Rick can't let lie. Will they be able to get past all the obstacles in their in way??

This was a tough one to put down once I started it! Great writing, characters, and a story filled with mystery and suspense had me turning page after page. You will want to put this one high on the tbr pile. I highly recommend it.
