I can't get past the ache in my chest and the need to throw up, because all I can think about are mum's stories about the brother I never met. How she traded her womb for food and shelter. How she hid in her tiny bathroom and held her screams back, knowing the only way she'd ever see or hold him was by birthing him in silence. Of having him ripped from her arms and being thrown out with nothing, never knowing what happened to him.
