Main trope: This is a dark, motorcycle club romance.
Additional tropes:
✅Other man/ex drama
✅Found family
Detailed spoilers/trigger warnings (if any) and final thoughts can be found below. There is a warning right before the spoiler and trigger section so you have the choice to proceed or stop reading.
Summary: The FMC is Lilah. While settling in at her new home, she meets an older female neighbor who appears to be confused. Not knowing what to do, she ends up getting the neighbor’s son’s telephone number and calls him to let him know his mother showed up at her house. He informs her he will come get her and this is how Lilah and Eliot (Scythe) meet.
Eliot has a traumatic past rooted in the abuse he suffered as a child at the hands of his father. At a certain point, the local motorcycle club get involved and provide Eliot and his mom a safe place to turn to. As Eliot gets older, he prospects and then becomes a member of the club, focusing only on that responsibility with no interest in a relationship. Some of the reason why is because of the PTSD from his childhood so when he meets the FMC, he is surprised to feel like there could be something romantic with her.
Lilah has her own reasons for being where she currently is. She ended a toxic engagement and left her so called family after they threatened to disown her. She’s just trying to now live her life on her own terms and meeting Eliot was not something she planned but as time passes, grows to love him deeply. Especially after learning all he suffered.
An old threat to the club continues to cause new problems as well as Lilah’s ex and her family and these challenges become something Lilah and Eliot handle together with their love helping them see it through, along with the supportive friends they call family.

*On page, descriptive violence.
*The MMC has never had intercourse with anyone technically making him a virgin. That’s how deep his trauma runs and I love that the FMC is the one he shares that with.
🌶️:2/5
Final thoughts: This book is a great addition to this growing series of interconnected standalones. The found family aspect in this book as well as the first book is some of the best I’ve read. I also love the cast of secondary characters from both books. They are just so good.
Eliot and Lilah are perfect as a couple. Both of them came into the relationship with their own internal barriers and were able to figure out a way to work through them so they could heal and start a loving relationship. This book had some good club drama as an old threat resurfaces. This book is set up to continue with other club members. I hope Charlie will get her own book at some point. I just love her as a secondary character in books one and this one. Overall I just enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read more about Reaper’s Guard.

I didn’t think I would love a book more than Leather and Ledgers – well I was wrong. Nightmares and Daydreams was bloody brilliant. Once I started reading this book, I was obsessed with Scythe and Lilah.
Both characters have suffered trauma in their past and they both deal with it in different ways.
Lilah is a beautifully written character that you are going to be cheering on. It is so easy to see why Scythe fell in love with her because I did as well. She is strong, passionate, caring and loving despite what she had been through.
Scythe is a walking contradiction, and I absolutely loved him as well. Tough as nails club brother when he needs to be and soft as a feather for his girls when he needs to be. His love for his mom and Lilah had me swooning. Scythe falls for Lilah the minute they meet and I totally believed it.
When the past comes knocking they together with their found family to fight. The pacing of this story is amazing it flowed so well I just could not stop reading. The drama and intrigue had me twisted in knots at times. There are plenty of sweet moments to round it out.
While you don’t need to read the first book I highly recommend that you do for one it is brilliant and second there is an overriding story arc that continues in this book.
The ending is – well let’s just say I am now desperate for the next book.

I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, and was really excited to receive an ARC of this book. e I’ll admit because I really loved the first book, I went into book two a little cautious. Not because I had any doubts about this author as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything I’ve read from her, only because I’ve had experiences with series where the second book introduces completely different types of characters and I end up missing the couple from the first book.
Thankfully, I had nothing to worry about with this one!
Lilah was such a strong character, and I really enjoyed her. After everything she had experienced, I loved that she was still such a kind and warm person. She had every reason to be hardened by what she'd been through, but that wasn't who she was.
And Scythe was exactly what she needed. I really loved how supportive they were of each other and how they accepted each other for exactly who they were. Their relationship felt like a true partnership, and I really enjoyed watching them find each other.
The author did such a great job creating a second couple who are just as awesome as the first, while still making them feel completely authentic and uniquely their own.
I also loved that the characters from the first book were still woven into the story. They weren't just forgotten once their book was over, but their presence didn't take away from Lilah and Scythe's story either. I thought that balance was really well done.
You don't have to read the first book to understand this one, which I really appreciate. It can definitely stand on its own, although if you haven't read the first one yet, I personally think it's worth going back to meet Fiona & Bash!
Another win for this series for me! I’m so glad I got the opportunity to read this one early, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where the author takes the series next.

Blue Jay and her Demon Man
4 and a half 🌟 - This is the second offering in The Reapers Guard series by a very talented author and it is filled with yearning, secrets, emotional damage and an all consuming and fiery love. There are themes of family/ex drama, grief and violence, parental medical drama, forced proximity, found family, MC brotherhood, emotional anxiety and angst but it culminates in a hard-won HEA for the main couple.
Lilah has spent her life unable to live up to the expectations of her family so she cuts ties with her ex fiancé and starts a new life in a new town, finally taking the chance to become the woman she was always meant to be. An encounter with Elizabeth who soon becomes her best friend, also introduces her to the Reapers Guard MC and a mountain of a man who gives her the love and relationship she has always dreamed of.
Eliot/Scythe is an enforcer for the MC and is a strong, distant, behemoth of a man who is averse to being touched by others. Funnily enough, the no touching rule doesn’t seem to apply to Lilah and when she becomes entangled with his mother and joins the girl guard of the club, his heart opens wide and his obsession with her runs deep. Can he share his traumatic past enough to convince Lilah he is committed to their relationship and a future together?
So many interesting and varied events happen in this tale including family dramas, MC violence, kidnapping, supportive side characters laced with sarcastic wit and banter and a wonderful found family that showcases the Reaper’s community. This was a well-written and enthralling book that had me avidly turning the pages and wanting the stories of other amazing characters.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours of respite this reading has gifted me and thank the author for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the arc and provide my voluntary review.

Advance Reader Copy provided for my honest review.
I enjoy Crystal Nichol's writing and it is obvious that she is honing her craft with each new release. With her second book in the Reapers Guard series we find previously introduced characters returning and solidifying their place within this MC universe as well as the introduction of new characters who act as both main characters (Lilah) and side characters who create a dramatic story line. In some of this author's previous books she engaged cheating/betrayal tropes as a main theme driving the plot. With the first two books in this series, she uses "insta love" between the main characters to drive the relationship between the hero and heroine, with healthy doses of longing, yearning and passion. The MMCs in this series so far trend towards emotionally constipated who have to overcome the obstacles the author places before them to connect with the FMCs, and the FMCs trend towards injured, both physically and emotionally, who likewise have uphill battles to overcome to trust the MMCs. The HEA is hard fought and appreciated once attained, after danger, suspense, and high-stakes risk. If you enjoy unapologetic possessiveness from the MMC and a deeply hesitant, emotionally injured FMC, Nightmares & Daydreams will deliver the emotional payoff you are looking for. I initially thought about giving this book 3.5 stars due to what I feel are drawn out and repetitive descriptions of emotional uncertainty on the parts of both main characters which dragged the pacing down; however, Ms. Nichol's compelling storytelling, writing and her vivid character voices moved the book through these descriptions and justify the 4 stars at the end of the read. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Nightmares and Daydreams is book 2 in Reapers Guard series. It is a standalone. The author did something very unique right out of the gate. Book 2 starts w a recap of book 1 from a side character. I loved this. As a reader this was not only helpful, but super fun. While I loved book 1, it was a great way to refresh readers on the events in book 1 without every thing being repeated over and over again in the first 5 chapters of a book. If I hadn’t read book 1 I wouldn’t have been lost in book 2. Moving on. We have a different couple in this book. While I didn’t think the author could top Bash for me from book 1, hot damn. Scythe is my new favorite Mmc of Crystal’s books. Lilah was a wonderful fmc. The two are perfect for each other. They both had emotional baggage they helped each other over come. This book was darker than book 1. So check your triggers. I enjoyed that we didn’t leave out any of our favorite characters from book 1. We as readers are still very much a part of this reapers guard family. I can’t wait to see how all of this comes to head in the next book. The thought and detail of this world is excellent. It’s just getting better and better. Definitely recommend.

* FMC Lilah x MMC Scythe
* HEA
* Virgin MMC
* Touch her and 💀
* Domestic abuse
Sometimes it takes two broken souls to find love to realise you were never the problem.
Lilah escapes her abusive relationship and toxic family to end up in Scythes path, for someone who despises touch his walls break easily for the one he was made for. If you read the first book you'd know Scythe was the one no one would mess with or torch so it's a loveable shock to see him realise that not all torch is toxic. Pledging to protect Lilah we get to see into both of their traumatic pasts and how their relationship helps them become the amazing couple they are.
Althoigh this book is a completely different couple from the first, i would recommend reading the first book to get the background of the betrayal the club experienced and the overarching storyline running throughout the series. Nightmares & daydreams brings our most hated villain Crow back, with a vengeance, he might of started the fight but we know he has nothing on the Reaper's Guard MC.
The fight has just begun and I am excited to see what the next books bring and how the war is going to play out.

The Reapers Guard MC: Scythe & Lilah
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Scythe is an absolute dream.
He falls instantly, deeply, and completely, and Lilah absolutely owns his heart. The obsession, the light stalker behaviour, and the way he’s already planning their future and figuring out how to make her his old lady…
He might just be one of my favourite book boyfriends ever!
I also loved the family aspect of this story. Not just Scythe’s biological family, but the found family created within the MC and the way they completely embraced Lilah and everything that came with her.
There’s also plenty going on with Crow, Lilah’s ex, and her family, and it kept me hooked. I honestly thought that things were going a little too well for a while… and then Crow reappeared and I was ready to throw my Kindle. How dare you play with my feelings like that!
And Charlie continues to be a favourite. OTT, borderline unhinged and a little psycho… I need her story! Like, yesterday…
Obsessive hero, found family, drama, danger, and all the feels. Absolutely loved this one.

This is a story of Scythe and Lilah. Lilah came from a wealthy family. Her parents and sister are unsupportive cruel people and her ex fiancé was abusive. Lilah was strong and left her family and ex when her ex physically hurt her and her family didn’t support her decision. When Lilah met a kind stranger, Beth who is having dementia and kindly protected her and ensure she is back with her son, that’s when she met Scythe, Beth’s son. It’s love at first sight for both of them. Scythe was very protective of Lilah even before they started dating. They forge a strong bond of friendship and love before they decide to be with each other. Lilah’s friendship and care for his mother is so sweet and wonderful. She becomes maternal figure for Lilah. It is such a sweet story. Their happily ever after is perfect.I absolutely loved it.

I had read the author's first book -Leather and Ledgers-and loved it! I was so honored and excited that the author gave me an advanced copy. Nightmares and Daydreams can be read as stand alone, though it does reference some incidents from the first book.
Lilah and Scythe both have past trauma about relationships which makes the story of watching them fall in love even more precious. Both of their pasts come up, but they stand united and confront it head on.
My only frustration is the small cliffhanger at the end-I am ready for Crow to be D-O-N-E!!
I do appreciate the details Crystal give to the plot line.

Second story in the Reaper's Guard world.
I really enjoyed reading this story for the second time about Lilah and Eliot (Scythe). Their initial meeting is awkward at best. His mother wanders over into Lilah's garden and Lilah can tell she is a bit disoriented and unsure where she is. Eliot comes to check on his mom, and he is smitten by Lilah. He is touch adverse, but he is drawn to Lilah and welcomes her touch.
I like how their relationship progressed, I like how Lilah was welcomed fully in the old lady's group and club, and I Iike how characters from the first story were present in this story. Overall, a very enjoyable read.

Solid 4'n'half star.
This book is 2nd in series. I read 1st and really enjoyed it so when I got a chance to read the 2nd I jumped on it. I was not disappointed, I really like it. I thought it was sweet. You don't have to read the 1st book but it will help. Now I'm hopeful for more stories from side characters. I know it says book 2 of 2 but I'm holding my breath that there will be more from the reapers guard mc.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series so I was excited to get an ARC copy of this book. This is the e story of Lilah and Scythe. Lilah has a terrible family and had every reason to hardened by it. She wasn’t and I loved that they formed a bond including friendship first. I recommend giving this a read. You don’t have to read the first book in the series but I think it helps.
