From a young age, Brandon wanted to be a writer. This actually started when he was working on fan fiction, around age 7. Literature has always been a passion, as his parents would read to him from an early age. A graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, Brandon also enjoys playing video games in his spare time.

Brandon returns to poetry after what feels like a little hiatus!
New Divide features poetry that self-reflects on the aging journey and what life is ultimately all about. Brandon expresses his emotions as he is on the cusp on turning thirty.
But what does that mean?
Does that mean we are classed as old as we say goodbye to our twenties? Brandon expresses that melancholic, relatable feeling well. As we close the door, it feels like we should be ready for adult responsibilities and that we should have our stuff together. Navigating different feelings and finding love, juggling the pressure of work, and striving to be the best person you can be.
The collection doesn't only focus on those themes, it explores how it feels to move out of your hometown and into a new city/town. The thoughts of feeling like a stranger at first, trying to find your place to fit in. Once again, Brandon self-reflects and tackles his emotions through expression. And while the collection does focus on those deeper themes, Brandon hasn't sacrificed his trademark humour, which he is a master at doing now.
My final words are that this is another poignant collection that I'm sure many people will relate to.
