BOOK REVIEW:
S.O.A.R – Success Over Adversity Reigns. The first thing that drew me to this book was its unique title and its equally engrossing summary. S.O.A.R is a simple story of three people and their families, their aims in life, their past, present and future. It is a chronicle of hope, despair, longing and eventual success over all adversities. Three friends, Adhyayan, Uday and Rajasekaran work in an office together. Circumstances in their life and their priorities as they go through turbulence are what the story is all about.
The premise/ plot of the story:
The premise of the story itself is interesting enough to hold the reader’s attention. The story clearly shows the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs in India. The professional journey of the individuals that clashes with their personal lives and their hopes and ideals is one roller coaster ride of emotions. Adhyayan, or Adi is struggling with a loving wife Srishti, unable to devote enough time for her even though he loves her deeply. Uday, who has had a troubled childhood, growing up without a father, thinks that life is about making a name for himself in business and doggedly goes behind his dream with a sole purpose. Rajasekaran is a timid man from Chennai who has landed a job in Bangalore and falls in love with Sneha, a fiery rebellious Bengali, struggling with parents who don’t care much about her.
General Story Development:
The background story of each character is presented in bits and pieces through the book and it is left to the reader to make the connections and inferences. If you follow the book from cover to cover, you will be able to fully appreciate the back – stories. If you are a reader who skims through paragraphs to quickly finish the story, you will miss out, for instance, on why Uday is so insistent on making his dream come true even at the cost of losing his job. Or why Adi seems to be oscillating between nations and what his actual priorities in life are. And if you don’t actually carefully read and absorb every line, you will never know that Raja actually speaks Tamil in the book!
The pace of the story:
For the story to be engaging, engrossing and complete, the necessity arises for it to have back stories and flashbacks. But the transition between the flashbacks and present events is not smooth. Sometimes the readers are quickly brought back to the present or abruptly taken to the past and it would leave anyone momentarily disoriented. The author could have used a date wise chronicling or at least some such differentiation to make the readers understand which part of the story is the flashback and which part is the present.
Also, there are moments when some events are left to the reader’s guess and some important life changing moments are written in passing lines. The story of Srishti’s baby totally caught me unawares. I had to read through the lines again. It was mentioned in the passing, and considering the importance of the event, it could have had a little more dramatic effect. This again reiterates the feeling that to get the true feeling of the story, we would have to read it line by line.
The language, grammar and phrasing:
A story needs powerful memorable prose / dialogues as much as it needs a good plotline. A good plot could fall flat if the writing doesn’t match it. The feelings of each character could be expressed with a much deeper impact on readers based only on the flawlessness or fluency of the language. This story’s writing needs a bit more polishing. It would have worked wonders and made the already interesting story much more memorable and this book would have become a comfort book that people would read again and again if the language had been a bit more structured. There are obvious grammar errors and some unavoidable typos that ruin the fast moving plot. But these are not very major and definitely not unheard of.
The use of certain words does seem like the author created the lines just to use synonyms of the more popular, and fitting alternatives. Some words do seem vaguely out of context and using their preferred normal alternative could have been a better option. Thankfully, Raja’s method of speaking in email abbreviations was commented upon in the story itself. But a seasoned reader cannot help but feel that sometimes the phrasing in the book is like Yoda speaking. (The title should have been warning enough. It did sound like an improbably confusing acronym. But don’t let it deter you!)
The Overall Summary:
The book will not disappoint you. The story is engrossing and the plot is thick with all the elements necessary to make a bestseller drama. The language is not much of a hurdle either. You can easily understand what the story is about. If you could get over the language and event placement, and delve into the story as such, you would appreciate the nuances and the actual plot. This book has the potential to become a major commercial success. Go for this one, you would really enjoy the friendship between the lead characters, the dreams, aspirations and over the course of the book you will find yourselves travelling with the characters themselves.
RATING : 4/5 (Purely for the content. The story could work wonders with a little more polishing!)

The story- as I could comprehend it-

Adyayan, Uday and Rajasekaran work for the same I.T organization.

Uday is a single guy and has a sick mother staying at his native place. His heart is burdened with a great secret which he never choses to share. He wants to prove himself as a business man. Adhyayan is married to Shristi. He does not find time out if his busy schedule for Shristi and that’s one of the reasons why their relationship is heading towards a failure. Rajasekaran is a simple guy. He falls in love with Sneha but is not courageous enough to confess his love for Sneha to his parents.
Life had been normal for all three until that black day dawns.

Kevin Systrom, the founder of Instagram says
‘If you have got an idea, start today. There’s no better time than now to get going. That does not mean quit your job and jump into your idea 100% from day one, but there’s always small progress that can be made to start the movement.’

Uday’s mind is lit up with an idea of an online business. He shares it with Adhyayan who also foresees a bright future. They take Rajasekaran on board and also hire a few college students and march on their business journey. Managing their business after office hours becomes difficult. Hence, all three quit their stable jobs one after another. They do this so as to devote their 100% attention to their dream project.

Life is not always a bed of roses. They face financial crisis. To overcome it, Adhyayan invests all his savings in their business and saves it from falling apart. Uday, too, sells off his ancestral property (after a lot of emotional melodrama by his mother) and manages to arrange some funds. Their business takes another shape. They are happy that their business is doing well.

And one fine day, it happens. The black day dawns bringing darkness in everybody’s lives. Adhyayan loses his baby and he attributes it to karma. A fight breaks out between the three and Adhyayan walks out on business and moves abroad.

One day, after almost one long year, Adhyayan receives a voice message from Rajasekaran that Uday has been arrested. Without wasting time, Adhyayan packs his bags to come to India to help his friend.

Why is Uday arrested?

Is Shristi fine with Adhyayan returning to India? Does she not have problems with it cause he never gave in to her requests of returning back to her?

How has Uday’s , Adhyayan’s and Rajasekaran’s life changed over this one year?

Will their friendship that had received a blow sometime ago, blossom into a stronger one now?

Read S.O.A.R! This is surely going to give you an exciting and enthralling read.

I come from an I.T background and hence, could relate to most of the incidents in this story. I had an excellent time reading it.

I rate:
Cover: 3.5/5
Story: 4/5
Characters: 4/5

My overall rating for this book is 4/5.

SOAR
Success Over Adversity Reigns
-By Abir Mukherjee

A special thanks to Abir Mukherjee for the free book copy and Kamal Paneru for recommending me to Abir.

Plot:

Based on the lives of three individuals, It professionals and frustrated employees, Adhyayan, Rajasekaran and Uday, Soar is their journey of a new business startup. When they kick started their business which was non-existent in India till that, not everyone who came in their way, supported them.

Followed by the problems of money-to-be invested, marital issues faced by Adhyayan and his wife, con-games, perspective-differences and inter-caste relation of Raja and Snega(h), this journey has a lot in store for its readers.

Will the trio be able to take their business towards newer horizons?

How will they solve their problems?

What will land one of them into the prison?

Will the entangled lives of Udya, Raja and Adi get solved till the book head towards its ending or will it lead to the closure of their one-of-its-kind business in India?

A wonderful journey with some wonderful essences and lessons for business and life, SOAR is a must read for all those who look forward to become young entrepreneurs.

My Opinion:

Positives:

The story is penned with an excellent narration style with wonderful use of Literature. The quality of author to not exaggerate the story with useless accounts leaves a wonderful impact and makes this book a quick read. With his wonderful visualizing power, Abir was successful in adding a visual appeal to this book through his minute detailing to each and every scene and emotion which makes this journey more interesting. Also, all the characters introduced in the book (though less) were justified properly and an equal share of importance is given to all three protagonists.

Besides this, the cover and title of the book adds a cherry on the cake and makes it a perfect book in all aspects.

“Best friends are people who make your problems their problems, just so you don’t have to go through them alone.”

This is a story about how certain situations in your life and your reaction towards it will either make or break you.

This book is an example of friendship, belief, determination and an inkling of your dream. When someone else’s dream becomes your, when you trust their belief upon rules and regulations, you create a masterpiece.

Abir Mukherjee portrayed this story about 3 friends; who endorsed a dream, sweat blood, created an obstacle which is what ‘Adversity’ refers to; an adversity where they sacrificed relationships but managed to overcome this ‘Reign’ just because of their friendship and dedication towards each other.

This is a story of Uday, Adhyayan, and Rajasekaran! Who takes you to a rollercoaster ride of their life. Let me introduce you to them from my POV:

Uday

A Cocky, Broody, Driven, Irritating, Single-Minded and a bit frustrating at times, who is a leader in this story of fighting against all odds. He lives and breathes his dream of breaking the cycle of 9 to 5 job by entering into the world of entrepreneur with a business idea to help society while reaping monetary gains as well.

Adhyayan

Adi: as they call him, is the most clueless person I have ever seen! He doesn’t have a negative bone in his body but when it comes to understanding her wife; Shristi, he is useless! Adi is a wonderful friend, who is always torn between his work, friends, and wife because he wants to bring justice to everything and everyone in his life.

Rajasekaran

Raja is my favourite character from this book! He is intelligent, funny, dedicated and straight forward in his emotions towards the love of his life: Sneha! Even though he belongs to a narrow-minded family, he loves freely: without any inhibitions towards Sneha’s lifestyle which is 360 degree opposite of Raja. I love him!!!

What I loved!

“Okay, then call me when you will be upset again. I know everyone will be with you in happy and good moments.”

Raja won my heart with these words and I loved funny conversations between Raja and Sneha! So, Abir Mukherjee did a wonderful job of mixing humour, emotions, family drama, passion for work, intelligence, and making this story an interesting read for us!

I finished this book in a one go, so it was that interesting for me because of the unique title; which I might add could not be better for the story.

My favourite part of the book was when both friends of Uday comes running back to him in need, even though he was cocky, he needed them and his friends knew him enough. Being always there for you may not be possible for many, but those who are always there when in need are gems; gems to be preserved.

There are many good points in this book to admire like:

Editor Sharanya Bhattacharya has done a wonderful job, while Abir Mukherjee has given birth to this unique story, plot and characterization, it won’t be a good read if it was full of edit fiascos which makes it a pleasant and easy read.

This story has Humour, Maturity, Interesting characters, and not a Love Story which still managed to grasp reader’s attention just because it helps you relate to their characters; makes you dream, rise and fall with them.

A Little Hitch

Book is in a Multiple POV’s which has a room for improvement due to the confusion it creates while jumping from one person to another frequently within a chapter. At times, I needed to re-read the words just to confirm whose thoughts are these.

My Personal Experience

“Our success and career are meaningless without the people who care about us.”

At the end of the day, you need a companion; you need your loved ones happy around you and not only in the monetary form but by being happy yourself.

This book is not based on any philosophy or any spiritual meaning waiting to be unearthed by readers, it is a simple read based on situations which may or may not be experienced by you till now, but can help you if so…

So, give it a read on any dull day of your life and you are guaranteed to feel motivated for your dreams, goals, future and if not all these then atleast a good laugh!

About the Author

Successfully reaching to his readers with his second book, S.O.A.R (Success Over Adversity Reigns) Abir Mukherjee is an IT professional currently based in U.S.A. who is an artist through and through as sketching and writing is what he loves to do.

As I said earlier, this author is interested in entertaining his readers rather than preaching about how and what to do in your life. You read, you laugh, you cry with these characters but there’s no hidden agenda behind his words except a hell of a ride in their journey of life.

His style of writing is matured and a little informal to make you feel comfortable, which is perfectly suitable for the audience his book is seeking towards.

His debut novel: ‘As Life Has No Undo’ is yet to be read by me but S.O.A.R has managed to make me curious enough to give it a go for once!

Thanks for this review copy of S.O.A.R Abir Mukherjee, am looking forward to read your future works!

The book is worth reading if you want to take a break from life as it is a fascinating tale of bubbling youth, ready to come across fortune and misfortune with equal probability.

In a character-driven book, the author’s biggest strength is his writing. Abir masterfully brings scenes to life. Small, trivial things become interesting in his hands as he crafts a delightful crochet of ideas. Indulge by all means! This 161-pages book is a gift to all those dream and who want to do big in life.

It is a story that has been spun in a beautiful web which makes you stick throughout the story. With each of the chapter describing about different characters and the way life has turned them while they walked and worked to accomplish their aspirations, it is an interesting tale.

It will make you go ‘aw’ at times, ‘what the hell’ at other times and ‘oh! my god’ at most of the times. Most importantly the book is too captivating and will surely leave you spellbound for hours after you complete reading it. No doubt the book is a best seller!

I hope his next book comes soon with another terrific page-turner.

S.O.A.R

Publishers:-Frog

BooksAuthor:-Abir Mukherjee

ISBN:-978-93-52013-24-1

My Reviews:-
What does SOAR mean? Any guesses? Let me tell you the meaning. Soar means to fly high justlike a bird with ease. But remember that bird too doesnot start flying from the first day. It falls and learns and one day it touches the sky without much effort.

Similarly in the novel 'S.O.A.R' written by Abir Mukherjee and published by Frog books, the three main protagnist Uday, Adhyayan and Rajasekaran starts a new innovative business in the Silicon valley of India i.e. Bangalore. The innovation is very new hence never tested. As a result they don't find many customers for it. They approach many institutions that maybecome the customer of their organisation. However they dont find any of them. At last, with the help of Adhyayan's neighbour they get a subscriber of their services. Since the first subscriber is well reputated institution in the city, many such institutions join. After the few initial months, the organisation starts lacking resoucesto run the organisation. The situation starts worsening and they too start drifting on various matters and programmes of the organisation. Will the organisation continue providing the newest services in the city or will it shut down due to various unavoidable reasons. You need to read the novel for answering all the questions in your mind.

The author vey beautifully takes us through each and every situation in the story. The story goes through many patches but the best thing I liked was its simplicity. The way the author explains the things, you will never feel as if you are reading a novel.

One thing that hurted me the most was the suicide by the student. Howrude has this world become? It doesn't care of you at all. All it wants is - its satisfaction, its profit. Moreover I would like to ask a question to the parents too. Why do you parents pressurize your kids for coming first or getting 100, 99, 98% marks.
Does marks mean everything. Do only marks define your child.No. Absolutely no. I can give you thousands of examples of students who were the worst in their academics, but today they are doing the best in their profession. So please dont pressurise your child. Let him/her fly like a bird. They might fall at the beginning but at the end they will soar high in the skies.

The author has very beautifully portrayed the characters. He very nicely introduces us to Adhyayan who is in the US. He then takes us back at the beginning from where the whole episode actually starts. The characterisation is beautiful andI doubt if anyone can find a flaw in it.The best of all was the portray of thecharacter of Shristi, Adhyayan's wife. Her understanding, her support to Adhyayan in various situations is just commendable. She is surely going to take away heart of many readers.

The title "S.O.A.R" completely suits the story and the reader will realise that once he/she has read the book. The novel has a subtitle too and the title acts as an acronym to it. The subtitle "Success Over Adversity Reigns" gives us a message that Success in life comes only when wepass the toughest situations. The author has tried to give readers a glimpse of the background of the story and he has succeed beautifully in it. The cover too is appealing showing three people looking at the sky. It also shows their shadows which has wings. The cover too adds meaning to the title and what the author wants to convey through his work.

Overall it is a good story with very beautiful characters. It shall motivate young minds who wants totest and bring new things in the world. It has various messages for the readers at different points in the story and these messages might help those persons who want to do something new of their own.
Overall it is a very good read and it shall be best liked by young minds and profesionals who wants to explore by doing something different, something which is not yet in existence.

Platform:
This story is about three IT professionals Adhayan, Uday and Rajasekaran who are fed up of their professional life. They meet together to think about their new business by giving up their job and implementing their skills & experience. They bring a new business in India which had never been. Also, their personal life about Srishti, wife of Adhayan, mother of Uday, and Sneha, committed to Rajasekaran is described. To know how and what they establish in business in unique way and how they manage their personal life, go through the incredible story S.O.A.R – Success Over Adversity Reigns.

Strength of the Book:

Amazing platform is chosen for the narration. Book is full of emotions, situations, personal & professional life and all the things which readers expect to have. The way of narration is amazing. All characters are justified very well. Link up of chapter is also done. Dialogue writing is done is most possible way it could be ever. Every scene is related to the chapter or next to the chapter. Flash back scene and present scenario both are written in proper coordination. Proper literature is used wherever required. Story is perfect mesh-up of creativity, experience and unique way of exploration of new things.

Weakness of the book:
Somewhere chatting type words are used for narration which leaves bad impact to the readers. At few of pages, other languages like Tamil and Bengali are written without explaining the meaning which addle the readers. Also, starting of the book is at pace. Blurb could be précised, it decreases the curiosity in minds of readers.

Conclusion:
Cover page and title of the book fit perfectly to the story. Effort of writer Abir Mukherjee can be easily seen in the book. He has engaged all type of readers in his book. This book will be loved by teen agers, married couples, IT professionals and the one who prefer to have romance in the book. Writer has done great job and given proper and happy ending to the story. Review Time :- S.O.A.R -Success over Adversity Reigns By Abir Mukherjee
In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

To begin with, title of this book sounds interesting and gives u a hint that this book will be "A Promising Read"

In this ever growing competitive world these three buddies who are trying their best to smoothly sync their professional and personal ends up facing many ups and downs of life, destiny and karma but with their desire to achieve their dreams And intellectual brains they are able to cross each and every hurdle with flying colours... From Uday's dream of something "unique" To Adhyayan's selfless buddy-Ship, From Rajasekaran's innovative ideas and intelligent brain To Sneha's Crazy Tattoos, From Srishti's "Craving For love and attention" To Adi's "Schoolyards" engagements,From Personal mishap to that Professional blunder...From Their frustration with their current jobs to Their desire of chasing their dream...This journey is a Gutsy ride full of "optimistic junctions" throughout the entire journey...

Liked :-

:- Everything in the world has a good and a bad site to it, totally depending on ourselves..From example, social networks reduces the "person to person relation living in the same place or nearby" but on the other side it reduces the gap between the people living in distant areas...So it totally depends on ourselves if see the glass empty or half filled

:-Our Career and success are meaningless without the people who care about us..Professional success is cherish the most wen u have ur family by your side..The success which ur getting at the cost of ur loved ones is totally baseless

Positives:-

:- I simply loved the way author has narrated the entire story keeping the language simple, descriptive and understandable

:- Parent-Child Relationship in both the cases( Sneha and Bose family and Uday and his Mom) and Ups and lows of Professional life were explained very well...I must say authors minute observation about each n every human relation, character and nature was commendably expressed in this book

Negatives :-

:- Not a major one, but i felt that the "Love/Romance portions" between the couples were not very well captured..

P.S:-This is the book i want my kids to read in future(Winks) as this book will make them understand that success will come to those who will chase their dreams while maintaining a smart balAnce between their desires, responsibility and relationship

Rating :- 4.25 /5

S.O.A.R is the second piece of art from Mr. Abir Mukharjee. His first novel was ‘As Life Has No Undo’. Okay so back to the topic, this is the story of three friends and their dream of doing something out of league through various ups and downs. Adhyayan, Uday and Rajasekaran who work for an IT firm decided to establish their own Start-up and faces a lot of hurdles but didn't gave up.  They face so many problems whether they are their personal problems or professional but they conquer them and re-established their start-up.
Story starts with a dramatic scene where Adhyayan get a call from Rajasekaran about Uday's arrest into some false charges and then story begins. The story-line is so interesting that it lit the spark of curiosity from the very beginning. Author has done every character’s characterization so keenly that the reader fined himself in the shoes of the different characters in the same story at different times. Story shows the hurdles and problems they faced in their path of success and how they overcome from them. All three of them have their personal problems along with professional ones but at the end they somehow resolve them all and starts a new beginning.

Positive:
·      The story-line is very interesting and gripping and bind the readers till the end.
·      Narration style is simple and easy to understand.
·      Characterization of every character has done very keenly and it reflects the capabilities of Author to create some magic with words.

Negative:
·      Well there seems nothing negative about a story which has the capability of binding its readers till the end, but the romance and love life of the characters should be narrated with some more interesting way.
My Verdict:
S.O.A.R is a kind of book which has all the possibilities to bind a reader to itself till the end, whether it is a gripping story-line, interesting and easy narration or a happy end. This book has all of them that’s why it becomes a must read. I can assure you that if you read it you will not regret losing your money and time cause it worth's your time. So, what are you waiting for go grab a copy from Amazon or Flipkart.

A Compact Read !!!

Truth be told , I received this book in exchange of an honest review . So , S.O.A.R is the 2nd book pen down by author Abir Mukherjee which revolves around the life of three strangers who become friends and then destiny takes them on a ride which change their life forever . Story launched with the voice call received by Adhyayan aka Adi in US from his old acquaintance Rajashekran aka Raja who spew some news of Uday's arrest that makes Adi booked the flight to Banglore on a short notice and this very event triggers the further writing of the plot .
Author has thoroughly worked in characterizing protagonists . Trio Raja , Adi and Uday used to work in same firm as IT experts till the time Uday flagged up an idea of a website that would change the definition of Schooling related stuff in India . Uday is portrayed as an entrepreneur with high spirits to never retreat and is beyond laborious type guy who is ready to move mountains to achieve what he'd set which cost storms in the personal lives of trio . Adi's relation with her Wife Shrishti bolted in a way to showcase the lows experienced by working class Husband-Wives .And what I found most entertaining is the story entangled with Raja and Sneha .

Positives :
# Have Patience , Good Things take time
# Some smiles hide pain
# With Raja , Adi and Uday's relation author had tried to bolt the fact that Family stays a family no matter what happens .
# Uday's spirits to hit at his aim gives a point of " No Retreat No Surrender ' when it comes to achieving Dreams .

Negative :
I found this book a bit compact . I felt as if I'm reading a detailed review of some movie , so there's lack of details from the surroundings and is more or less a straight-forward plot .

Fav. Moment :
When Uday and Adi ask Raja about the location of Sneha's Tattoo.
Raja & Sneha's meeting
Sneha fought with her friends

So S.O.A.R is a compact and fun read whose 2nd half keep the reader hooked to sudden change of events .

How can someone think of this awesome abbreviation ? The success and failure summed up in just these 4 letters. The title is apt and intriguing and is enough to catch one’s attention and make him grab the book at a go.
The pallate of humane emotions like the joy of friendship, love, balance of personal and professional life has been aptly depicted. The creativity, vivid description of the protagonists with equal importance to the characters is an art that has been portrayed really well. The summary was interesting and engrossing.
The excellent storytelling in simplified, flawlessness and fluent English literature makes the things easily understandable and to imagine things with eyes open. The metaphors used were brilliant and I could learn some of the complicated english words too.
It has a lot of things to deliver specially when the youth is concerned. The youth can well relate to as this is the real practical world of the young budding entrepreneurs. Though, I felt the cover of the book could have been little better as per the title that would have become visually more appealing.
The pace of the book was well maintained with no exaggeration of events description making it an faster interesting read. Abir was successful with a happy climax with a positive impact on the readers how determination, hope and hardwork are the attributes for success. It teaches us about the meaning of life and how adversities makes you a stronger person in the path of life.
Writer has done a great job and I would recommend all to read this book and am sure it will fill you with an optimistic attitude and motivation to start new things and handle the uncertainities of life easily.

There were some grammar errors and some unavoidable typing errors that ruined the fast pacing plot. Though not very major and definitely not unheard of.
P.S- It was an awesome read and kudos to the author for bringing this plot.

From the beginning of the book, there are various things which didn’t let you to leave before reading it all. I think the best part of this book is its characters. From the Three main character, i like Raja most because of his intelligence skills and his love story with Sneha. Author’s writing style really make it fun to read this. Middle part of the book is just as a rollercoaster. Somehow, Uday’s frank character also quite impressive.
As we come to Main story, which is firstly only Uday’s dream, then Adi and Raja both get involved in “ The Schoolyard “. They gave their Everything to it, their savings, their time, their effort. But when Uday added a new page “hall of fame” to his Website, Raja and Adi both get against him. They wanted that service to be closed because hall of frame was reason for a child’s suicide. But, Uday was thinking that “hall of fame” will make their Website more famous. Because of this Adi and Raja both left “the schoolyard” and in one case of Uday was been caught by police. In their life Everything was changed, and the reason for it was” the schoolyard”.
From my view i think Story is represented in quite realistic way. Once i started it, i can’t stop my myself before completing it all. The use of perfect words at right place by Author really make it great to read. But, i think the scene “where Uday meet Adi and tell him about his plan of Website” can be defined more well. This book also contains a little bit touch ups of love story between Raja and Sneha. Although it is good, it make me feel good while reading it.

As compared to the book Content, the cover is not so good. If it will have some bright theme to it, then it will look attractive. While those Three images, and theirs shadows with wings despites the little bit motive of book. Those twinkling stars around the title “S. O. A. R” make it look little bit good.

I got this book from the author in exchange for honest review.
I like the story of the book ,its interesting to read .
The cover of the cover is nicely designed and gives feeling to read the book.
As the blurb clearly indicates the storyline.
Three IT professionals Adhayan, Uday and Rajasekaran together starts new business.
They want to earn money, more respect, and fame by doing something meaningful.
Uday gets arrested by police .
Later on, Uday was released on bail & investigation begins.
All charges were quite clear to Rajasekaran after exploring them on google,.In short, these charges were for theft, cheating, sending or receiving stolen data & copyright infringement.Rajasekaran found eight different areas of Banglore from where those mails had been sent from.
In a couple of days, the polce arrested Raghavendra & recorded everything .He regurgitated unfolding all the secrets about how he created the fake Schoolyards look alike email id ,leaked question papers.,twinned Uday's locker key.Police arrested all his partners in crime
There is suspense...as the story unfold .

It was an entertaining read.I would give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. Looking forward to read more from the author.

The plot is young as the author is. The development of the story is enthusiastic as you would expect from a young mind. They twists are electric as they should be in reality and the solutions are realistic as they have to be. It is ‘No’ koo-chi-koo moment story; no professional jargon roller coaster and no brain drain fundas exemplified; simply an interesting read. The turn of events is sequential and bears connectivity with the previous scenes. At times, you will feel as if you are not reading any fiction based novel but some old memories are being revived in your mental memory.

On a creative front, you will appreciate how the author compares the three friends as brave warriors who against all adversities, soar high to new heights of success.

Very entertaining !! I was pleasantly surprised at the end of my read . The first half kept me hooked with the uniqueness of the concept ( of the entrepreneurial idea ) and second half , with the investigation , was equally interesting ! The ending was dramatic and very Indian with a happily ever after . Gives you more of a movie watching experience the whole time . I was amused with the Indian lingo added in the conversation to give it a local feel . Got me nostalgic bout Bangalore !
And by far my favorite character was Rajashekar . He was very relatable and adorable in a lot of ways . All in all a happy read !
Good job Abir . As u said , I was definitely not disappointed with the book . It's a very good attempt being just the 2nd book . Though I want to give it a 5 as a mark of my appreciation , I am giving this a 4 (very good ) hoping the best is yet to come !

Again this is not your love story. Is it just me, or are we finally moving out of the me- too Chetan Bhagat genre? If that is the case than nothing like it!!

This is a story about 3 guys, who get together to start a business venture, and as the story progresses we see how they grow their business, face ethical issues as well as personal issues and how they handle it.

Synopsis –
Frustrated with their current jobs, Uday, Adhyayan, and Rajasekaran team up to start an innovative business, non – existent in India until then. Ignoring all pragmatic aspects of life, they chase their dreams with immense pleasure. However, their journey is no cakewalk, as they confront financial crisis and rejections soon. Uday plays a business trick to triumph over that uninfluenced market; it works initially, but soon boomerangs, blowing the team apart. The police arrests Uday accusing him of illegal activity by his organization.
Were there any blemishes in their plan or was it just a typical Indian market, reluctant to accept an unexperimented concept? Will they be successful in implementing their innovation, staking their hard-earned money, stable jobs, relationships, and life?
‘S.O.A.R’ is the story of chasing a dream, quandary between desire and responsibility, friendship and love.
Join the gutsy journey of three young entrepreneurs.
About the story –
This is the story about three friends who want to do big in their lives hence leave their respective jobs to give their whole time to their dream project ‘SCHOOLYARD’. Throughout the journey they face many up and downs in their personal and professional lives. In the end, they all part their ways foe betterment.
And then one day Adhyayan gets a voice note from Rajasekaran stating that Uday has been arrested and Adhyayan fly down to India instantly from US. And they all in the end are successful to remove all the allegations from Uday’s head.
My verdict –
This story shows how being over ambitious sometimes gets us in trouble. Ambitions are good but when it comes with the stake of our loved ones, it then lands us in great troubles. We cannot move alone in our lives but we constantly need someone beside us to handle us and to tell us where we are going wrong.
S.O.A.R tells us how to forget all the grudges and help our friends if they need us. Story is catchy. Language is attractive yet simple. Things have been defined very clearly but at some places it all seems mixed up for some time. Otherwise it is an inspiring story for ambitious people.

I am experiencing all the firsts in last couple of weeks. It's getting better with each book. The 'it' here demonstrates the 'pure joy of readership' and SOAR really stood for its true definition. First book that kept me hooked till its 3/4th part and there is nothing wrong with the last 1/4th either but believe me, readers of this age are so smart and knowledgeable that they get to know very well in advance where a particular book is leading them too. I am glad I ended up in a happier place.

So where do I start? Let me elaborate some more on the 'predictability' quotient of a book. As I said in last para, readers get to know everything in advance going into just 30-40 pages and proceed only if they get something interesting to cling onto. Here in SOAR, there are multitudes of factor that will keep you engrossed. Top class vocabulary, negligible grammatical mistakes (yes, those have become quite a spectacular feature of modern Indian books; so fewer, the better), a riveting plot with two heroins and three heroes and most importantly, a humane story at its core and the one who everyone gets to identify himself/herself with. Abir Mukherjee, the author of this book, never lets the tension seep at any moment and every page of his SOAR comes up with something jittery. I am not going to disclose any element relating to its story or plot for this is the book you definitely need to buy. In the fine tradition of Indian book-writing, SOAR soars.

I likened it to a very fine Hollywood caper/heist film that's slippery, fast-paced (you miss something, you can't go further) and touching at suitably right places. I wouldn't be surprised if Abir scores a movie deal with it.

As far as the setbacks go, I would just like it to be proofread more carefully next time. Cover page, blurb, font-sizes and other technical know-hows are fabulous and they wouldn't need tinkering until something spectacular comes up.

In times to come, I shall hope it stands for excellence. A fantastic read, rush for it.

REVIEW- S.O.A.R is the one of the best book i have read recently. A book with perfect title (it couldn't have been better) and plot. Abir has the great ability to narrate a story.

Language is lucid and simple, though it is simple, book has best dialogues wherever required. Though there are some tamil and bengali words without their meaning given but it is overcome by the strong storyline and pace. Character's are justified well, with the perfect happy ending.

There are some errors in punctuation and spelling which are unavoidable. Blurb should have been shortened as it reveals the suspence.

Review
The book is quite catchy with attractive cover page of three friends sitting next to each other and watching twinkling stars. It feels good when you read the synopsis at the back, which encourages us to read the book. Every chapter of the book starts with an interesting titles.
The story is motivating and interesting. First being employees and then fulfilling the dream of being entrepreneurs, the story gives us a message of following our dreams no matter what. Vocabulary is good, which makes the book easily understandable and maintains the flow of story.
Overall book is really good, one must read this book which inspires and motivates to go for our instincts.

STORY-LINE –What I liked about the storyline is the thought process that must have spurred the author to pen this book. While S.O.A.R is all about crossing hurdles and achieving one’s dreams, the book brings to fore a few things that are a norm these days – 1) People switch jobs easily without batting an eyelid. It comes to them as naturally as changing their clothes. 2) Youngsters unlike their elder counterparts are ready to take risks to achieve their dreams. 3) People are so crazy about achieving success that they often give a deaf ear to sound advice/ are indifferent to the trauma caused by their actions, to their beloved ones. 4) The fall-out of not being able to strike a balance between one’s professional and personal life………

There is a bit of humor, a bit of romance, a bit of deceit, but overall it is all about trying to live one’s dream.

PACE- There are times when one has to go back and forth to get a hold on what actually is happening. This is because the transition from present to past to present is often abrupt. This has affected the pace of the story to a great extent.

EDITING – Needs to be tightened. Certain usages don’t seem to fit in well with the context/ story and tend to become stumbling blocks.

VERDICT
Overall a nice read, one that needs a little fine-tuning to make it more enjoyable. I’ll give the book 3 on a scale of 5.

This is the second book by the author Abir Mukherjee who is an IT professional based in U.S.A.
The backdrop of the book is related to the IT industry. The three protagonists who come together in the book namely Uday, Adhyayan and Rajasekaran take you through a roller coaster journey of friendship, love, ambition and deceit.
The story rests on Uday's dream of making it big. He hits upon a brilliant idea and leaves his job to pursue his dream. He ropes in his two friends Adhyayan aka Adi and Rajasekaran aka Raja to join him.
The three embark upon the journey which takes them through disappointments and trials and turbulations and breakups.
Then comes a huge shock as Uday gets embroiled in a case of cheating and is arrested.
Hearing the news Adi and Raja leave everything to be at his side forgetting the differences they had in the past.
The ensuing married life of Adi which suffers immensely due to the project and the new found love of Raja make a compelling parallel story.
Will Uday be cleared of the controversy, Will Adi's married life get back on track and will Raja be able to marry his love, an outcaste marriage?
Grab a copy and find out. The book surely has some editing errors and could have been better in that area, nevertheless it makes a very interesting read for sure.

Verdict: Storyline is good, thematic presentation of ideas is done with precision. Teaches one a lesson to never give up when in adversity.

My Review: The cover of the book is not that attractive; it doesn’t click your mind to think of anything. The title of the book is ambiguous but what comes to the rescue of all this is the storyline. The author has nevertheless shown his expertise in developing characters and displaying the varied situations that the characters face. The themes like friendship, and adversities are very relevant to the time. The author also makes use of SMS language more so (I guess) to entertain the youth who are bombarded with SMS culture. But sometimes to a lover of literature it may look like a murder of one’s language and its beauty. The author highlights most importantly two great virtues that helps one climb the ladder of success, atleast I believe i.e. Strong Will and Determination.

This book is a sure treat for all those who want a smooth ride without many bumpers. The language is down to earth though a bit of punctuation errors spoil the show. Overall it is an interesting read.

Kudos to the author for bringing a different story onto the fore with a lesson to be learnt.

A good house, a life partner with a beautiful soul who would make that house a home – who stays with you in every ups and downs of life, a few close friends and a job that makes enough money to survive in this world is all we need. But three things that we miss amidst of all this are Dreams, Contentment and Peace.
When we are younger, we set goals to reach our Dreams. As we grow up, Money Replaces Dreams. We start plotting our life to earn more money than knowledge. I don’t deny that it is the most essential element of survival but it isn’t the only necessary element, is it? Why do we start ignoring our family to work some extra hours? So that they can bath in those green notes? Sometimes, we get so indulged in oneself that we forget when our loved ones expect from us. If it is a family that is truly in love with members, I bet their priorities include love, care, affection and the time they give to each other.
Perhaps, we fail to understand this until someone punishes us for the act we do.

There are very few errors in the book – some typos, some editing mistakes.

The book cover could have been vibrant. The title misses a period mark but it is a very thoughtful name.

Overall Ratings - 3.7/5

Reviews-

Very often it happens that the start of the book disturbs but it is certainly a great way to increase the level of curiosity. SOAR also edges ahead with manipulations. The main leads come in your view from the very start. The language is simple and easy to grasp without much tongue twisters. The story moves tenderly without any bumps. The protagonist collides with one another and the hunt to achieve starts.

The author shows his good sense of visualizing his proximity and that reflects in the zeal of his writing.  It allows the reader to see the happening through the pages. The story has something new in its every chapter.

Review:

The story is about  3 people( Uday, Adhyayan, and Rajasekaran) working under a roof and finding a meaning or in a search for change in life. It happens when Uday realizes his motive for life and how he convinces others in his belief. Will it successfull or not is the story.

The best part of the book is it takes you through the life and what were the there ups and down for beign an entrepreneur. It has dreams, passion, love, marriage , a complete package.

The downpart of the book,is its predictability and regarding the company , I had read an article about "Why my company closed down" and I felt the same when I was reading it. So there was only few topics that held my attention.

So in one line something difrent from normal.

What I liked about this book is the choice of appropriate words showcasing the vivid vocabulary of the author. Also the way the personal lives of the protagonists are written in sync with their professional lives is commendable. It surely deserves to be read..
