I read this as a librarian whose gone through one renovation and is undergoing another library's renovation. The book seemed best suited for libraries who have never had either a children's learning or early learning area or given attention to this idea in their departments. However, I still gained insight into some of the positives and negatives of some design and concept aspects, as well as great examples and case studies that didn't bore me. It definitely engaged me and reinvigorated my interested in the subject. it had a full appendix, index and samples to copy. I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that it lacked information for the mid-size library. It also lacked a bit of what to do it when your library already has some of these aspects and you want to expand or change it.
