This book felt like having my own personal cheerleader in my corner. Meredith was hyping me up, reminding me who I am, and getting me ready for battle — not a battle against other people, but FOR the women and girls God has placed in my life.
There were sooo many reminders throughout this book of what it means to be a daughter of the Most High. One passage that really stayed with me was:
“God’s grace echoes through all of your life. You may think He can’t use you, but you turn around and watch Him do it anyway!”
That message resonated with me so much. We don’t have to have everything figured out or feel completely equipped for God to use us. We just have to be willing to step forward and trust Him. As scary as that seems, it’s really just as simple as that!
I also really appreciated Meredith’s discussion of forgiveness and resentment. That is something I personally struggle with, so those pages gave me a lot to reflect on. Meredith consistently backed up her thoughts with Scripture. Her “opinions” weren’t simply opinions — they were grounded in the actual Word of God, which made her words feel EVEN MORE powerful and gave me something solid to stand on.
I especially loved this declaration toward the end:
“I am a daughter of the King. I will not be moved. I am a warrior woman for God. I am covered in the blood of Jesus. I am saved by grace and loved by God. I am an overcomer: I am a victor, not a victim. I have a testimony. I will blaze new trails. I will tell every generational curse that has stood in my way that it stops with me. I will shine bright for God like a lighthouse. I will go back onto that battlefield and reach out to the ones who are stuck where I once was. I will make a Kingdom impact that echoes for generations. I will not be moved. May God get all the glory that is His!”
Doesn’t that just give you chills? There is something so powerful about taking the things we’ve walked through and allowing God to use our testimony to help someone else.
This book encouraged me and challenged me (and I know it will continue to do so). It made me want to stand a little taller in who God created me to be, especially for those around me. I closed it feeling reminded and ready to step into my role as a woman of God. I had that, “We ride at dawn” feeling. IYKYK
If you’ve ever questioned whether God can use you or whether you’re enough, or even simply just need to be reminded of who you are and what preparation for spiritual battle looks like, I think this is a book worth picking up.
