My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

This is going to be a short review.  Not because I don’t have enough to good or bad things to say about Unloved but for fear that I will reveal too much. A lot of things occurred that would completely ruin the story for you if I told you.

Neely is trying to put the past behind her and move on with her life with Hayden.  But the poor girl is doomed to be happy.  Andrew’s mother threatens to harm everyone she loves if she doesn’t find Andrew and convince him to have a pure taniwha.

Neely finds herself facing the very man she hated and with the thing she never wanted to meet….Lucas.  Now a real life walking breathing little boy that looks identical to her. She quickly realizes that this is going to harder then she imagined.  Her feelings for Lucas and Andrew are growing and as well as the lies she keeps telling Hayden.

The love triangle escalates and when Hayden deceives her she finds herself drawn to Andrew more and more.  When tragedy strikes she is forced to make some tough decisions.  Will Hayden and Neely be able to move forward after he finds out about Lucas and will she be able to protect Lucas from Andrew’s mother?

Unloved by K.D Wood a fab four-star read. Unloved is the second book in the Unwilling series. This is the 3rd book by this author I have read, and I have enjoyed them all, I plan on reading more as I find the writing both passionate and intense and so wonderfully written that they take you away to another world. This is a second book in the series and I would recommend you read them in order to get the most out of the series.
This story follows on from Unwilling and tells us more of Neely McIntire’s story, just like the first book you will be kept hooked and wondering who you should be rooting for and who you should hate, as it seems to change from page to page in some parts. The one thing I didn’t like was how Neely never seems to get a break, she has been through so much and is destined to keep fighting on.
Hayden Nelson just wants his best friend back, he knows something happened but he isn’t sure what, what will happen if he finds out? Will he ever be able to keep their relationship the same?
Andrew Huckley knows that Neely may never forgive him but he doesn’t care, he just wants her in his life. Will he ever get what he desires?
This story is about the complexities of love, how even though we know something may be wrong, in your heart it doesn’t always feel that way, and what do you follow your heart or your head?

This book follows where Unwilling left off. It has most of the same characters plus some. It seemed like book 1 was just an intro and so while it was good, this one was filled with more action and you seem to be able to jump into the story a little better. So, to me, this book was better than the first.

I still love Neely and of course I still hate Andrew, sorry I just can not bring myself to like him. I tried to in this book, but sometimes it's hard to change your viewpoint. Plus this book really made me not like Hayden. I was rooting for him and Neely but this book just shows him in a different light.

The writing was really good. It was so easy to jump back in and with that being said....I really enjoyed reading this book. :) ...Stormi

Ugh, I hate to be so vague in my reviews but I don’t want to give anything away! Why does KD make you want to spill everything?
Anyways, Neely is trying to move forward and leave things in the past. However, the past has a way of coming to the forefront.
Neely loves Hayden but is drawn to Andrew. Can she have them both?
Lucas is identical to Neely and needs her to protect him from Andrews mother. Can she do this while not telling Hayden everything?
4.5 stars! You will not be able to put this book down. Make time to read because everything else will fall to the wayside.
****I was given an ARC for an honest review. This plays no part in how I felt about this book.***

Unloved by KD Wood is the second part of Unwilling. I highly suggest that you read Unwilling before this one as this one starts where Unwilling left off. This book is the continuation of Neely McIntire's story. Her story is about love and how many people you can love at one time and the struggles that come with it. This author continues to impress me with her writing style and her creation of characters. You will enjoy her true to life characters that are connectable. They will pull you into their world of crazy love. This story has a few twists and turns that will surprise you in parts. Find out what happens to Neely a year later after her traumatic events.

This story picks up a year later after Neely returns home. She is trying to convince herself that the awful memories she has are just really a bad dream. When a picture shows up in her mailbox of a child that could be her, everything she has regained starts to tumble down. She has been finding extra support in Hayden's brother but even at that she is starting break from the pressure coming from all sides. Hayden wants to take things to the next level. The Tribal Guard is stalking her. But the worst, is Andrew's mother who is giving her an ultimatum, give her the monster as promised or Neely's loved ones will be put at risk. She is drowning in secrets but will she convince Andrew to help save her loved ones? What will happen when she is introduced to the child? Will she be able to sacrifice a child that looks like her? Or will she make the choice to save someone she never expected to love?

The three of these characters all have their parts in this story. Andrew is the one who is in love with Neely but yet the only one who can help her. Hayden just wants to be with Neely. He really wants to take their relationship to the next level. But questions remain. What will happen to Andrew and his feelings for Neely? What will happen to Hayden and their relationship? Will Neely ever decide which one is the best for her? She is my favorite character in this book and the previously one. She just has had to endure so much and I give her so much credit for being strong. When the ones she loves are put in danger, she never second guess about what she should do, just save them. What will she do when she is face to face with this child that looks like her? She doesn't want to ask Andrew for help but she has no other choice but to go to him. He keeps hoping that she will be at least part of his life but is that possible? What will fate have in store for these three characters, you will have to read this book to find out what happens!

I am not sure how many of KD Wood books I have read but this is a great continuation of Unwilling. I never know what I might find when I open one of her books, just that I can expect an adventure. K.D lives with her family and spoiled White Wang in northern Mississippi. When she is not writing, you can find her under a snugly blanket with a cup of donut shop planting her nose in a book. This is a story that will keep you engaged until the end. You will need to find out what happens with these characters. They will keep you turning pages until the very last page. They will pull you into their world and make you feel like they are right there with them. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see the continuation of Neely and the others like I did.

Unloved is the second book in K.D. Wood’s Unwilling trilogy and there is no way on Earth that anyone would ever dream of reading it as a standalone!
Unloved is the continuation of Neely and Andrew and Hayden’s story. I have been haunted by their story since I finished reading the first book couple of months ago – every time I go for my daily walk in the nearby National Wildlife Refuge and see the beautiful water lilies blossoming, I remember what Neely told Hayden at the beginning of the first book when he gives her lotus blossom necklace (water lilies for me are our version of lotus blossoms): “This beautiful flower lives in the most vile, muddy water of swamps and bogs,”..."“This flower stays in the mud and muck all night long". “Then, at sunrise, it climbs toward the light and opens into a pristine bloom. After the sun goes down, the bloom sinks into the mire. Even though it spends the whole night underwater, the flower emerges every morning as beautiful as the day before.”
I hated Andrew at the end of the first book, I raged at him … I felt for Neely and I felt for Hayden and I cursed K.D. Wood for creating this amazing world where the legends and reality seemed to mash … and she continues to amaze me and I have to confess, I loved Andrew by the time I finished the second book, I felt for him and I was really angry with Hayden!
K.D. Wood, you broke me, I cried so much while holding on for the ride you took us on! My heart is still aching and I know that in order to move on, I need to get the last book and read it! I already downloaded it and I can see a sleepless night ahead of me! Thank you for this beautiful and unusual love story and I cannot wait to see where you take Neely and co and us in the third book!
Do yourself a favour and get the WHOLE trilogy and hide away for a weekend and once you emerge from the shadows, take a walk in the nature and think about the lessons you learnt when reading Unwilling …

I went into Unloved by K.D. Wood, without realizing that this was the second book to a series. So needless to say that I was slightly lost at first. It actually took me a couple of chapters to figure out what was happening and why.

The book starts off with Andrew Huckley, sending off a package to someone, and needing to do it for his son. Then it jumps to Neely McIntire – receiving a package from Andrew with a HUGE bombshell. So needless to say, I was a little confused. How could she not know that she’d had a kid. But the more I read, the more I realized and pieced together what had happened in the previous book.

I do have to say that I did enjoy this book. I liked it enough to continue reading. I had a desire to figure out what had happened and what was going to happen.

I was very impressed with the authors writing style. There was a touch of Paranormal – and dare I say mythical aspect to it. I enjoyed and appreciated what we were offered as readers. I like that I was able to loose myself within the storyline and world. And even though Andrew had literally wronged Neely in the first book, I felt like he had made up for his mistakes and heavily paid for them.

I feel like Neely literally went through hell, and it’s not something that she had asked for. But the fact that she was able to forgive someone that had hurt her so badly gave me a sense of peace. I hate everything that she had to endure, but understand that it was needed in order to grow as a person and mother.

Now to see what the future holds for her and Lucas, her unexpected son. As well as Hayden and what schemes he is up to with the Guard. I’ll be very interested to read the next book in this series and find out what happens!

Overall, I would consider this a 4 Star Read as it kept my interest.

Unloved is the second book in the Unwilling series by KD Wood and was another great instalment to a series that is still taking me by surprise! When I read the first book it took me a while to get into it as it was a new genre to me but I ended up loving it and so I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next! As the book is a continuation of Neely’s story book 1 should be read first.
This is one of those reviews that is hard to write without spoiling the story! Unloved was definitely a book where I went into it loving certain characters and finished it wondering why I ever did. It was full of great twists and turns and not necessarily within the storyline but with the characters! It was really great to read! It was also an ending that I was not expecting at all! Talk about a cliff-hanger!!
I loved that Neely was still the same! The things that poor girl goes through! Just when she thinks everything is settled and her past is behind her something (or should I say someone) pops back up to take Neely on another dramatic turn in her life!
One of the things that is really keeping my interest in this series is the uniqueness of the storyline, I have read a few paranormal/fantasy genre books now but this series is sticking with me as something completely different. I think the author has a fantastic writing style that has kept my attention throughout. I definitely can’t wait to read the final book in the series! I really cannot guess what is going to happen next but I’m sure there are going to be some great twists and turns along the way!
If you are a paranormal/fantasy romance fan then I definitely recommend this series!

Unloved by K. D. Wood is a continuation from Unwilling, I suggest you read Unwilling first if you haven't already so that you are more familiar with the story and what has transpired so far with all the characters. I loved this book just as much as the first one!!
Neely McIntire has been through so much and she's still trying to put all the prices of her life back together, convincing herself that everything she went through was just a really bad dream. Hayden just wants their relationship to go to the next level, and to have the old Neely back, he loves her so much, he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Things start to change when one day Neely gets a letter and a picture in the mailbox and the picture is a child that looks just like her. Now she has to face the reality that what she experienced might be true, and on top of that she's going to need Andrew's help. Andrew’s mother has made a threat to Neely that she will hurt the ones she loves most starting with Hayden if she doesn't do what she wants her to. Neely has to stay strong in order to help the people she loves. What will happen to her relationship with Hayden? What about Andrew, he still loves Neely? Can Neely make a choice between the two? What will she do about the child? How much chaos and sacrifice can she take? You must read this awesome story to find out what happens in this love triangle. I couldn't put this book down once I started reading. This story took me through so many emotions and some surprises along the way. I recommend reading this amazing story!!!

K. D. Wood has done it again with Unloved the second book and follow up to Unwilling. If you haven’t read unwilling you will need to as this is not a stand alone book. This is the second part of a psychological sci-fi thriller with a dash of romance added in. The storyline drags you right into the book and doesn’t let you go until the very last page. The characters are still very well written and the emotions tear at your heartstrings. This is a must read!

Just when Neely thought things were returning to somewhat normal, well whatever her new normal is the package shows up in the mail. The kid in the picture could be her clone, but theres no way what Andrew writes is real. That was just an hallucination there is no kid or creature, she was so sure of it she left that part out when she told Hayden and her family what happened to her. When she is kidnapped again and brought before Margarette and she has a proposition for Neely and her only choice to save her family and Hayden is to accept. This proposal will force her even farther down memory lane when she has to find Andrew and the child or face the consequences. Will this deepen the divide that Hayden already feels with Neely or will it drive them closer together?

Unloved by K.D. Wood is the second book in the Unwilling series. This author is extremely talented and imaginative. Not only does she write about romance, but she can throw in some fantasy elements and it can be an amazing novel for anyone who reads romance, new adult, or fantasy based novels. This novel is a continuation of the first Unwilling and shouldn’t be read as a standalone as you will not know or understand some of the key elements and events in the second book. So strongly suggested to read in order. The second book tell about Neely’s life when she gets back home and out of her coma from New Zealand. When faced with difficult decisions and situations, she relies on the people that she knows and loves. But is that enough to save them? Could she sacrifice a child to save herself? These are just some of the questions she faces in her adventure in Unloved. K.D. Wood is becoming one of my recommended authors to people when they ask about fantasy romance novels or authors. Her novels will leave you feeling like you just stepped out of the book from a mini vacation from the way she describes the places in her book. From the way her characters are and from the way the towns are, you would never know that there was anything fantasy about them.

Holy Hell I have so many feelings going on right now. I think this book destroyed me in both a good and bad way. Unloved is the sequel to the amazing Unwilling. While unwilling was a twisty, mind-bending story (which I loved), unloved takes it to another level.

Unloved picks up with Neely one year later after the events of the last book. Neely is still struggling with the trauma's of the past and doesn't know how to move forward and to start her on life. What I loved about Neely in this book, is she finally came into her own. She went from being the victim to taking control of her life and making some tough decisions.

Neely is pulled in so many directions from the people in her life. They all want her to return to normal but how does one do that. Neely life went off course and it has marked her for life. she can't be the girl they used to knew. Neely struggles with making people happy and reconciling her past self with her current self. It's a beautiful thing when Neely is finally honest with herself, accepts the women she is becoming and makes a choice on what she needs and wants in her life, not to make other people happy.

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew. I think I might be the only person who loved him in unwilling. Well I fell more in love with him in Unloved. I loved his journey from a boy who took want he wanted to a man who was willing to sacrifice his own happiness and wants for the people he loves. He truly is a hero in my book and hope your sacrifice was worth it.

Oh Hayden, while I never rooted for your I did feel for you in unwilling, however I can say after unloved I hate you. I know it's harsh, but you proved that you wanted everything on your terms and only seem to care for what will make you whole and complete. All I can say is you deserve a good throat punch and a Bye Felicia.

Kudos to K.W. Wood for writing an amazing sequel. While she ripped my heart out and stomped on it and made me cry a gazillion tears (which I will be mailing to you), you truly wrote a unique and beautiful love story and can't wait to see how this all plays out in book 3.

I finished this book not long ago and was surprised at the twists the story has taken. However, I think it is even better than the first book in the series, and that surprised me, too, as I had thought it pretty great. Katie's writing is so spot on, and really wonderful. Her characters and her plotting are simply superb!
Since several others have written about the storyline itself, I will simply say that Hayden really surprised me. I hope he is long term out of the picture, or at least changes his stripes back into the Hayden we cared about and liked in "Unwilling." The whole Andrew focus was a really good one for this series, and gave the story depth, I felt. After all, our wonderful heroine wouldn't have found him so tantalizing to begin with had he not had something going for him, that we discovered in this novel. I really approved of Neeley's choices and decisions in this continuing story. She is a true heroine figure combining strength, good morals and warmth. I loved the way Katie developed her caring for the baby when she was so determined to try not to let it affect her. I was surprised by the ending, and sad, too, but understood how it almost had to happen that way. So look forward to the conclusion of this series!

I was given a reader ARC for an honest review of this book.

This was such and AMAZING story. I couldn't put it down.

Just when you think life has settled down for Neely, that she can get her life back and settle down with Hayden, the letter arrives. The parts of the horror she lived through - the ones she never told anyone - just came back to haunt her with strawberry blonde curls.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this story. UNLOVED picks up shortly after book 1, UNWILLING, and I have to tell you, KD Wood doesn't disappoint. I found myself so engrossed in Neely's trials I alternated between yelling at the book, wanting to shake some sense into Neely, and emptying a box of kleenex from crying. You know, that ugly, gut wrenching crying that pulls your heart out, twists it hard, then shoves it back into your chest. ALL. THE. FEELS. Yep, KD did all that to me and more.

Unlike any other series I have read, UNLOVED takes paranormal to a whole different level. Unique, different, and totally worth the book hangover I had (and know I'll have for book 3!) If you are looking for a new paranormal read with twist and turns that will keep you guessing (and at times yelling at the book enough to make people look at you with the side-eye), then grab this series today!!

This book picks up not long after the first one leaves off. It was a great continuation of this story.

I found myself wondering how the characters got to where they are. We went from a love interest that was completely devoted and willing to do anything for the woman he loves to someone that was unwilling to even listen to her side of the story. He did not even give her a chance to explain what was going on and what she had gone through.

We have the main character that completely changes her look on everything. She forgives for the major infractions of her trust but holds a grudge for the smaller issues.

We also have the boy off to the side. He finally has a chance to connect with the girl he has always longed for but doesn't even really try to win her over.

The story is a good one and I really enjoyed the story. I think the characters could use some stability in their actions though instead of completely changing the way that they react to a situation from one chapter to the next.

This is the continuation of Neely's story from Unwilling.

Neely's past is behind her, however the future is about to become more muddy. She must make some difficult decisions about her life concerning Hayden and a taniwha.

We learned what a taniwha was in Unwilling, but no spoilers here as this series is too good to give that away.

Hayden is confused and becomes angrier by the moment as he doesn't understand what Neely is feeling. I loved Hayden in the first book, but in this one, his true colors come out.

While Neely is dealing with a newborn and the boy (Andrew) that she once hated, she becomes more contacted with him. As the triangle becomes more complex, what choices will Neely make?

Once the choice is made, disaster occurs and changes her life again and Hayden is on a course to win Neely back at all cost.

I can't wait to see what the next book brings as this story keeps getting better and better.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys paranormal.

Unloved picks up the story of Neely, Andrew, and Hayden where Unwilling left off. Where Unwilling kept you guessing throughout, Unloved keeps you yearning for more. I couldn't get enough of every single scene and storyline. I read this book as a beta reader and by the end of it, I had sent a text to KD asking why she HAD to give me all the feels for these characters (and even a few unexpected ones). I absolutely cannot wait to read the third book in this series, Unboundless, when it comes out later this year! Hurry up and catch up now because FOMO is a real thing... and you will have it!

This book is like a Smoky Mountain road! Twists, s-curves and even a couple of tunnels! My heart pounded through most pages and I cried only a couple of times. I cannot recommend this second book in K.D. Wood's series highly enough. I received the ARC thinking I had figured where K.D. was gonna take this story, but she showed me. LOL... BUT I loved every minute of it!

Why did it end???

First, I truly dislike Hayden. As odd it might sound, I really was hoping Andrew and Neely could make it. It was devastating how it ended but still so beautiful. I'm curious to know what happens to sweet Lucas. If there is a love interest with Neely I am cheering for Nathan.

Unloved is the second book in the Unwilling Trilogy by K.D Wood. This is a paranormal romance full of drama, angst, thrills action and a love triangle.
Unloved begins a year after the thrilling events that took place in the last book. Neely is back home after her ordeal. She is still raw from the experience and struggles to make sense of her memories, preferring to pretend that it was all just nightmarish dreams. She is a little stuck, with everything still hanging over her; she’s not sure how to move on with her life. So, when she opens the mail to find a picture of a child that resembles her so closely, she has to face the truth, and hope her world doesn’t fall apart completely.
Neely has pressure and expectations placed on her from all sides- Hayden wanting more from their relationship; the Tribal Guard is on her case; then, Andrew’s mother enters the picture again, with an ultimatum- that if she doesn’t comply with, will place her loved ones in terrible danger.
She really has no choice but to turn to Andrew to ask him to help her save her loved ones. When the child enters the picture, Neely must make an incredibly difficult decision. With life and death, love, secrets, deception and sacrifice coming into play- this story really takes off. What will Neely choose?
This book has an original and complex storyline which Ms. Woods has cleverly crafted. She has again managed to keep the suspense and intrigue flowing through the story, adding a few twists and surprises that kept me on the edge of my seat.
I am intrigued to see where the third and final instalment of the series will take us.

Thank you Ms. Wood!

Unloved by K. D. Wood is the second novel in the Unwilling series. This is my second novel by this author.

Starting off where the previous book left off, Neely is trying to forget her ordeal with Andrew, writing it off as a bad dream and trying to move forward with Hayden. With a picture in her mailbox, all she has tried to do comes crumbling down. To protect those she loves, she must keep secrets. How long before the secrets come out and the world she has been trying to protect, starts to become too much?

“I'd only been trying to protect us all from his lies. At the same time, well actually up until about ten minutes ago, I believed the horrifying thing that had come out of me had been nothing more than my confused brain remembering things wrong. But a child, a kid who looks more like me than him, Andrew had said. I'd called it baloney afterwards. Especially considering the thing I remembered puking into Andrew's waiting arms had been much more nightmare than kid.”

Can she protect her son, better yet will she want to?

“How different would my life be now if she'd lived? But my Gran is dead, and now it's my responsibility to keep Lucas safe from the real monster, his grandmother, Margarette.”

It has been a while since I read the first book but reading this made me sucked into the world again.

There were a few parts that were a little confusing but it added to the charm of the book.

While I didn't like Andrew, I'm still unsure on how I feel about Hayden. His character was so different then how he was in the first book. But he had moments where I liked him.

I can't wait to see how this story ends!

Unloved is part two following Unwilling by KD Wood. It is definitely not a standalone and you must read Unwilling and read it soon! Oh my what a great continuing story! Unloved takes place a year after Unwilling ended. The danger has returned, the love has returned, but the crazy never left!

The characters of this story bring out the UGH- frustration, anger, and heartbreaking feelings in me. Neely was kidnapped in book one by people, Andrew and his mother, who were beyond crazy. When she was found by her best friend Hayden, she had already been traumatized in the most bizarre way. After trying to overcome her situation, Neely has to make choices in order to save the ones she loves. Having to talk to and deal with Andrew is a plot twist that turns into a bigger plot twist!

I feel that the title of this book is a little misleading. Instead of un loved…there is much love in this story. Of course some of the love is unrequited and a little self-serving, but it is still love. The love in this story is not your typical happily ever after kind of love. In fact, there are no rainbows, unicorns or even warm fuzzy feelings. This is more of a tough love type of story, even the cover says “Every choice has a price…”

This fantasy adventure will have you turning page after page to see what happens and then you’ll get to the ending and OMG the ending is just too much! I highly recommend this series. I am so looking forward to the next part of Neely and Hayden’s story!

Unloved by K.D. Wood is set a year after the events of Unwilling. It continues to follow Neely McIntire as she attempts to rebuild her life. If you haven't read the first book in this amazing series I suggest you do so. Otherwise you will be completely lost.
Life hasn't been easy for Neely and just when she thinks things are starting to settle down she gets a letter from Andrew. A letter containing a picture if a little girl that could be her twin. Not only for she now have to deal with this sudden revelation but also with Hayden pushing to take their relationship further. Thank goodness for Hayden's brother Nathan. In the craziness that has become her life talking to him has kept her grounded.
With pressure on multiple fronts, including from the Tribal Guard and Andrew's mother Neely must find a way to stay strong or risk losing everyone she cares about, including the little girl she didn't know she would come to love.
This book was an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. Neely is definitely my favorite character in this series. She has been through so much in her short life and still manages to stay strong through everything. Strong character development combined with a killer plot made this book a fun read. I have to give this book a five star rating for not only having strong "good guys" but also having "bad guys" that were relatable and that I even found myself sympathizing with.

Unloved is by K.D. Wood and is the second book in the Unwilling series. This book is best enjoyed after reading the first book. It picks up close to where the first book left off. The story continues after Neely returns from New Zealand. She is trying to figure out what happened to her still and pick up the pieces of her life. Hayden wants to move on and advance his relationship with Neely. The problem is that she has received a communication from Andrew that is bringing Neely back into his reaches as well as his mother’s. To make things worse the Tribal guard has come from New Zealand and Andrew’s mother is making demands of Neely threatening the people she loves.
There is much going on and I will not go into more detail. I do not want to wreck the book for anyone else. Like the first book there are twists and turns. When you think, you know exactly where the story is going there is a twist. The characters are well written and the story is a great progression. This is not the typical romance book. There are some supernatural forces at work again and some fantasy.
Neely is somewhat frustrating to me. I understand all the decisions she is making, some forced are difficult, but her reasoning at times drives me over the edge. I know some was to add tension to the story and also, she is young and inexperienced. Overall I really enjoyed the story and I am looking forward to third book in the series.

Unloved by K.D. Woods is book two in a trilogy. Book one, Unwilling, should be read first as there is so much to the story you will need to understand, plus this story starts about a year after the crazy events of the first. I have read a few stories by this author and I must say they continue to surprise me and exceed my expectations. Book one was a rollercoaster of emotions and twists and this one was no different. There were scenes where I was freaking out trying to figure out what the next move would be. The author definitely keeps you on your toes.

Neely McIntire has been trying to convince herself that everything that's happened are dreams and not true. Unfortunately, they happened. The love triangle sort of continues with Andrew as he's professed his love and is now the only person who can help Neely protect the ones she loves. Unfortunately, when Neely is send a photo of a child with her face, everything changes. Her secrets are causing issues with her future, what will she do and be willing to risk to save those she loves?

I am always amazed when an author can take your feelings for a character and completely change them. How you can go from disliking to rooting for or vice versa. Knowing that the characters grow and learn from mistakes makes me happy, and makes it easier to connect with him. I am very glad I gave a genre I don't typically read a chance. I cannot wait to see how the end plays out, this has got to be good!

Unloved by KD Wood is the second book in the series, following Unwilling. You must read Unwilling first, or you will have no clue what is going on in this book. This series is so strange and weird to me, but that is why I enjoy it. Its nothing like I have ever read before, and the backstory Wood created, is fascinating. The creatures and anatomy is bizzarre and one of a kind. I like the characters, as they are very realistic, even though the story is quite sci-fi in nature. The story alternates point of views, which I like, because it gives a better overall visual of the story. I give this book a 4 star review.
Neely McIntire has had a rough year, seeing a therapist, and trying to make sense of what happened with Andrew. She is unsure of what is real and what wasnt, and is plagued with nightmares. It has been rough, and she has been working on rebuilding her relationship with her boyfriend, Hayden, as well as her parents. Things are going pretty good, when Andrew sends her a letter, which uproots crazy memories and throws everything off. Then his crazy mother gets involved, making a complicated situation nearly impossible.
She is now faced with the hardest decision ever. A child she convinced herself doesnt exist, does in fact. And he is the spitting image of her. She is torn on what to do, is it even a child? or is it a monster? She must decide if the child should be turned over to Andrew's horrible mother, to truly turn him into a monster, or protect him.

Unloved is the second book in the Willing series by K.D. Wood. This is a paranormal/new adult/college themed romance. I did read Unwilling, the first book of the series, prior to reading Unloved. Strongly recommend reading the books of this series in order as Unloved begins where the author left off in Unwilling following Neely McIntire.

Neely's character continues to grow and morph in this series, especially in Unloved. I felt the uncertainty of her emotions and decisions as she attempts to shake the misgivings that are approaching her from all sides. Her life feels as if it's spiraling out of control and she reaches out for assistance from those that she can, including characters we were introduced to in the first book. In the midst of this there is still a love story attempting to break free and come to the surface. The question remains, who is that ultimately going to include?

K.D. Wood did a great job on continuing the theme built in the first book into this sequel. The story is well paced and thought out. The characters and story line do not feel rushed or inadequate, but satisfying and fulfilled. The author has written a thrilling story that has kept me engaged and on the hook to see where the story continues and how it will finish. Definitely a great series!
