I love all the ideas and pictures in this book. I want to eat them now. Too hot to bake right now.
The first part of the book teaches you lots of tricks to make better cupcakes even from mixes. I can see where in the past I made mistakes and what I was doing wrong.

She has the tools she likes and why. Where she buys certain things or what type of stores to look for the items. What ingredients that she likes to use quality brands and why she stays away from store brands on certain items.

These cupcakes are so creative. With different flavor combinations, for different themes. She tells you different ways you can display them, different ways she wraps them to go. There is so much information all through the book to help you make your cupcakes a thing of art.

She takes regular cake mixes and adds things to them to flavor, too add moisture, color to make them special and easier.

I can't decide which cupcakes I want to make first. I never thought of myself being able to add things in the center. Too be so creative with cupcakes.

This book would make a great present for a wedding shower gift, college or for young mothers. So many different occasions for those who like to be creative or for those who want to learn to be more creative.

I was given Cupcakery from Cedar Fort Publisher and in return agreed to give a honest review and be part of its blog tour.

The best cupcake recipe book I have seen. beautiful pictures, great tips, and the recipes are amazing. I want to make a new cupcake everyday. Love that each recipe uses boxed cake mixes with different ingredients to improve the flavor and texture. my kids love looking through this cookbook and planning which to make next. The tips helped my 10 year old to successfully bake and decorate her first gourmet cupcakes.

A lot of info about cake and cupcake making, equipment and tips. But most of the recipes are similar to ones I already know and the rest didn't appeal to me.

Who doesn’t love a good cupcake? Cupcakery doesn’t disappoint. From the gate, the author gives her story of becoming a baker, which I think is very important. Often times, we will read books from so-called experts without really knowing what makes them an expert.

The author goes on to prepare bakers for the kitchen. She gives a list of utensils, and other baking essentials; some I had never thought of—such as a cupcake corer. I had never heard of such a thing until this book. But it is important to know that a cupcake corer is what bakers use to hollow out the middle of cupcakes. I even appreciated the little tidbit that hobby stores carry cupcake supplies and often send out money-saving coupons. I can’t tell you how many times, I’ve gotten an email from Michael’s with a coupon in it; that I deleted. I’ll never look at a Michael’s, JoAnne’s or Hobby Lobby coupon the same.

The book is full of other resources and tips like toppings, toppers, packaging and transport of cupcakes. In addition, she talks about various piping tools. However, I want to get straight to my favorite cupcake recipes that are featured in this book. They are:

Mocha Swirl
Grape Soda
Cherry Cheesecake
Strawberry Princess
Bubble Gum
Blue Raspberry
Green Velvet Butterscotch
Pink Lemonade

My granddaughter and I have several other favorites in this book and have enjoyed trying some of the recipes. We haven’t perfected the piping, but we’re getting there. The cupcakes taste great, none the less. And what cookbook would be complete without an accompanying cooking measurement equivalent and metric chart?

Kudos to Miller for producing a backing cookbook that I will actually use, and not just once a year.

(4.5) Cupcakes. Who can resist cupcakes? I sure can't! I really enjoyed the way this book broke it down. I'm not a creative person and I once tried to do pretty frosting and it ended up a disaster! This book starts out with explaining different methods of baking, frosting, and decorating. Even I could do this! Then came the good stuff--recipes. Lots and lots of different recipes. Each section is separated into similar types of cupcakes. Such as, kiddie flavors, traditional flavors, seasonal flavors, breakfast flavors. I never would have thought to make a Cotton Candy Cupcake. And Neapolitan? Yum! There were so many different kinds--I'm going to be baking for awhile yet to come.

Out of the ones I tried, my favorite was the S'mores Cupcakes. Ooh, so good! This cupcake is made with a yellow cake mix and graham cracker crumbs are added to the batter. A chocolate fudgy ganache tops it with a creamy, fluffy marshmallow cream frosting. Seriously divine!

The instructions are easy to follow and the explanations of technique were very helpful. Using a cake mix is so very simple, but I would have love to see a basic batter recipe. I'm trying to eat healthier and although cupcakes are nowhere near healthy, at least a mix from scratch doesn't have the preservatives and added things in it. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to bake a better, more professional looking, and delicious tasting cupcake.
