Having finally reached the United States and found employment aboard a smuggler's boat, Declan McIver is forced to choose between a new life and old debts when he learns his employer is branching out into a new line of work; assassination for hire.
"Ian Graham writes the kind of stories I want to read. Full on, Action packed, adrenaline fueled. Keep your eye on this author, he's going to be a big name in thrillers before long." - Matt Hilton (author of the Joe Hunter thriller series)
Ian Graham is an award-winning author and entrepreneur with an interest in politics, history, and religion. The stories and characters he writes about are centered on the explosive conflicts created when the three intersect. He is a firm believer in being yourself... unless you can be Batman. Always be Batman.
Declan McIver is full of surprises. He seems like a mild-mannered member of a fishing boat crew, but that is only a job he takes because he is in the Unites States illegally. When he comes upon illegal activities that the ship is involved in, he is uncomfortable. But when those activities portend something violent and puts an old friend at risk, he springs into action.
Declan quickly sheds his shipmate persona to become an undercover operative, intent on thwarting the evil forces that have come ashore to hurt or kill his friend. Surprisingly he has resources to draw on. He moves quickly and shows how his training and experience has given him the skills to succeed. It will be interesting to see what lies ahead for him in future novels.
The story jept me reading. I was a little disappointed regarding time line. The page before said he had spent 3 weeks but 2 pages later it stayed he spent months where he was. Disappointed your proof reader didnt catch this when it was so close together. There were a few grammatical things i noticed as well but you could get the gist of what was meant.
There was enough in this novella to hint at greater things to come from Declan. A touch of the mob, a touch of terrorists and plenty of action. Hopefully future novels will explore Declans past. Recommended.
Graham has created a page-turner that quickly draws readers to stay up late to find out what happens next! A bit justifiably hardcore and highly enjoyable
Good story, lot's of action and interesting characters. I recommend to anyone who likes a high action story. Looking forward to reading more books from this Author.
