This is a lively, exciting romance novella, with no wasted words. A lioness shifter and a wolf shifter shouldn't get along - but she has been exiled from her pride and is being chased by shifters intent on harming her. He's driving a truck and feels obliged to aid a lone woman - even if she does smell like lion.
The length suits a journey or lunch time. This is clearly part of an ongoing series, but everyone is the hero of their own story. The urban fantasy is suitable for adult readers.
I read a Kindle version. This is an unbiased review.

And so the saga continues for the town of Riverford. Ms. Rayne has a way with many of her characters of a Alpha Lioness and an Alpha Wolf, yes book 2.5 is a short read but powerful. Believe me you'll love it.
Tori King, is on the run for the past 3 years, from her father, the Alpha of the
Chicago Clan. Trained to become an Assassin, Tori went on her first assignment.
Not wanting to kill anyone, she took off running and has never stopped. Knowing that if the three Retrievers that were sent after her by her father, ever caught up with her, unthinkable things would happen to her.
Just then Nolan Bray, a wolf shifter was thinking it was his lucky day, I mean how many times have you stopped somewhere and a sexy naked women jumps into the cab of your Semi. Oops maybe not so lucky, taking a big wiff of her he realizes she a lioness, OH NO Wolves do not like Lions he wants her out now. BUT when the bullets start flying Nolan takes off with Tori still in his cab. Tori want to stay with Nolan so she tell him she has information she needs to tell the Elders. Tori has been on the run for three years, she abandoned the lion clans during her first “job” as an assassin because she refused to be a killer. Chased by three lion “Retrievers” she jumps into a truck (naked) and is met with hostility by wolf shifter Nolan. She swears she is a rouge and has info that would be very important to the pack elders and needs to get to Riverford. He is suspicious but when his truck starts filling with bullets he takes off and decides to figure her out later. She convinces him that she will give him info if he can just get her far enough to have a chance of escape, he slowly starts to believe her and drops her off where she should be able to head for safer grounds, he plans to backtrack and go to a friend’s house to throw off the lions. As she heads south some time later she sees Nolan’s truck hidden in weeds off the side of the road, she knows the lions have him and she risks herself to go save him. Great short read, the chemistry between Nolan and Tori was Hot! I really like the idea of worst enemies finding common ground (and love). Sweet addition to the Riverford shifter series, highly recommend it!

I was given an ARC of Rescued By The Wolf -Riverford Shifters Book 2.5 in exchange for an honest review. Tori is a rogue wolf on the run from the Chicago Clan where her father is the Alpha. Her father expected her to be an Assassin like her other siblings. She refused and began running three years ago. She is being chased by lions so she climbs into a truck, naked, and tells the driver to go. He smells that she is a lion and he says NO. As the lions get closer and start shooting, he takes off. She tells him she has information about the Lions and their plans in exchange for a ride. He lets her off in area he thinks is safe and says he will double back to mislead the assassins. After walking she decides to head to the highway where she sees his truck, tires shot out and blood. She follows his scent to an abandoned building and finds Ryder tied up. She opened a small to get in and for them to get out. As they are running out of the building there is shooting and Tori is shot. She wakes in as a lion in another place and figures she has been captured by the lions. This short story is another great read from Christina.

when a rogue lion tries to escape the lion trackers she sees no other way out then to jump into the first truck she sees. once inside she realizes her mistake, she jumped into a truck with a wolf shifter, their sworn enemies. afraid of what the trackers will do, she does her best to try and convince him he has to take off right away, like yesterday! reluctantly he listens and they make their escape and at the next town they part ways. in this short amount of time they did come to some kind of understanding, even some mutual respect, maybe even liking each other.
as she back tracks through the woods she stumbles upon his abandoned truck and knows something is wrong, very wrong!
is it a trap? is it a set up? what shall she do? it's only a wolf, right? yet, it's one who helped her...

This is book 2.5 of the Riverford Shifters. A short story. It is still part of the serial, but more of a spin-off, as it is about 2 different main characters. There really isn't a cliff-hanger. Just kind of a....wondering.
Tori has been on the run for three years. Hiding out from her father, the Alpha of her clan in Chicago. She is a rogue and the lion clans deal with them harshly.
She is found by the Retrievers and to get away, she jumps into a truck. Only it isn't a human driving that truck.....it is a wolf.
Nolan is a very unhappy wolf-shifter when a lion-shifter jumps into his truck and screams for him to "Drive!"
No one in Riverford or Parker grove will trust a lion, but Nolan decides that there is more to her then just being a lion shifter. Now they just have to survive long enough so she can tell what she knows.
I am really looking forward to book 3 and also hope to hear more about Tori and Hunter.

This is an incredible series!. The story line and characters are amazing!.. Tori is on the run she is being pursued by retrivers these are some badass Lion shifters!. Tori is the Daughter of a Lion Alpha. She did not want to be an assassin for her Father so she went on the run and became rogue. To try to escape the retrivers she jumps in a truck with a guy while still nude from her change lol. But the true shock is when she realizes he is a wolf shifter!. Wolves do not trust Lioness's so Nolan is about to put Tori out of his truck till they start getting shot at. Nolan helps Tori get away!. Can the two fight their attraction for each other? Do they really want to?. Can Nolan protect ad trust Tori?. With all the steamy romance, suspense, action plus humor you will wat this book!.

What an incredibly unique concept to combine two different shifting species!
Tori is on the run trying to escape her Alpha father and her clan as she does not wish to be an assassin.
Nolan happens to drive by and slows down enough to have her jump into his truck.
Instinctively, Nolan wants her out of his truck and nothing to do with her. Upon her promising information of her father's actions, Nolan agree to drop Tori off just past the next town.
He is captured, she rescues him and then a twist of circumstances surfaces where he rescues her.
An excellent adventure and I can not wait to read the rest of the series

Oh My Goodness! That was short, fast paced & downright AWESOME! Having recently read the complete edition of 'Tempted by the Jaguar' I was excited to learn that 'Rescued? by the Wolf' was set after. Also this book is apart of the "Riverford Shifters" series, I would advise you read this after you finish 'Tempted by the Jaguar' but it isn't needed. I'm hoping there is more to come for this series, as it is an addicitng series.

I got this one in exchange of an honest review, I love wolves and will read anything that includes the word wolf no matter the plot, characters or anything else, and as always, this book was hot hot hot, I loved it, I think its real awesome to blend a female lion with a male wolf, this kind was not something I had read about, but this book got me hooked for more and more, it starts with him saving her from her pack and then the action, love, battles between the animals start to the extreme hotness read to find the rest

Tori is a lion shifter on the run. Dispite that her alpha/ father had planned for her to become a killer, she wants no part of that life and has been running for 3 years. They have caught up with her now and her one chance is a wolf shifter but can he look past his hate for lions to help the women? Can she get away from the team that has been sent to get her this time?
Great story, I loved the by play of the characters and the strength the author wrote into tori's character.
Fun story don't miss it.

Exciting, sexy and gripping plot
Right from the start this story grabs you by the throat. Tori"s dilemma is what moves the story and when she meets Nolan everything comes together. I loved the action in this story, the fact that Tori can kick butt and still be the good guy/girl. I loved the characters chemistry and the dialogue. This was a fun, fast read that will have you seeing the chase scene in your mind like you're watching a movie. Definitely, this book should be on your TBR list, so buy it!

Tori is a lion changer on the run for 3 yrs. She hits a small town hoping to find peace but 2 male lions attack her. On the run again she jumps into Nolan's truck. Nolan however is a wolf who hates lions because of injuries caused by the lion clans that the wolfs have suffered. But faced with bullets flying after a naked lioness, Nolan decides to help.
I haven't read this author before but find her characters well formed and developed.

Unlikely savior
Tori has been on the run for three year now and the sniffers and retrievers are getting so close she feels it just might be better to run in front of a truck. We have lots of action and excitement going on in this well written story. I love who save Tori for a time and what happens after. Part of a series and yet still a self contained story.

I am totally enjoying this series so far and this authors writing. The story flows smoothly and I found myself quickly wrapped up in the events that are going on and I can not wait to read the rest of the series.

Rescued
Took me a while to find this book with the preceding books in the series on another place. Anyway the story was just as amusing as the first two were interesting. I liked the way Ms Rayne managed to intertwine the two totally different species and make them doable. The couple adds a lot to the other books to make the whole series interesting and intriguing. A quick read that is pure pleasure.

This book was more a novella but I really liked it. Brings in Tori a Lioness assassin who has turned rogue and is being chased by other lions to take her back. Nolan is just driving along in his truck when a naked women jumps in his truck. Good book. Fun to read.

While technically this is a third book in the series, it is more of a back story vs a need to read.

TBR
This book has been in my TBR pile since 2015! It was not until I recently downloaded the first book in this series that I realized this. This was a nice quick read. After reading Tempted By The Jaguar this book fits well into this series.

I didn’t realise this was a novella when I read it. This was an action packed short read. As a PNR, it had its naked scenes and steamy scenes. Loved the feared lioness and her red wolf rescuing each other and having a go with each other.

Tori King had hoped that she had confused her three pursuers, by backtracking on her trail. Then out of nowhere she's attacked by a lion shifter. She manages to get away and run back towards the alley. She can feel the other lions close but she runs harder. When Tori gets to the alley she shifts. She runs towards a car park. Trying a truck door, it opens and she gets in. She's shocked to come face to face with a wolf shifter, whose not happy to see her. But when they get shot at he takes off. Tori explains her situation, but the wolf is sceptical. As they drive, Tori tells him about her situation. Nolan, as she finds out his name, tells her she won't be welcome in Riverford. So he drops her off. Even though she feels a strong attraction to him and it's hard to leave, she knows she has to and doesn't look back. As she rescues him the lions appear and they take off. Nolan sees a lion attack Tori and knows she can handle herself, but from what she told him he can't let her go through that. Kylie realises that this wolf is definitely an alpha male and she likes it, but it's not the time or the place. As they take off, another lion gets ready to attack Nolan, but before she can do anything she's shot. When she wakes, she's startled until she sees a warm familiar face and relaxes. They talk and she realises she wants Nolan Bray and that he wants her as well. His all hers no matter what anyone says.
This book is a short story and fast paced. It's a spinoff of book 1&2 but just as entertaining. I liked the characters and they had good chemistry. It was a nice easy read which was easy to follow. My only issues are that I would have liked this story to be longer so that the storyline and characters could have been more developed. But saying that it was still really enjoyable!

Tori King had hoped that she had confused her three pursuers, by backtracking on her trail. Then out of nowhere she's attacked by a lion shifter. She manages to get away and run back towards the alley. She can feel the other lions close but she runs harder. When Tori gets to the alley she shifts. She runs towards a car park. Trying a truck door, it opens and she gets in. She's shocked to come face to face with a wolf shifter, whose not happy to see her. But when they get shot at he takes off. Tori explains her situation, but the wolf is sceptical. As they drive, Tori tells him about her situation. Nolan, as she finds out his name, tells her she won't be welcome in Riverford. So he drops her off. Even though she feels a strong attraction to him and it's hard to leave, she knows she has to and doesn't look back. Rescued? By the wolf buy Cristina Rayne
This is a great accompaniment to Tempted by the Jaguar and takes place after the foe mentioned book. Rescued? By the wolf is another great read written by Cristina Rayne. A lone lion who does not want to follow in the family traditions of being an assassin and has been on the run for the last three years. Until the lion retrievers find her in a sleepy town. Out of desperation she jumps into a complete stranger’s truck to get away. The truck belongs to a wolf who helped in the Tempted by the Jaguar to take out the lion compound.
Even though the Lions are considered very bad in the shifter world in these stories Victoria (Tori) and her new wolf friend Nolan hit it off and become very good friends. After they help each other with their lion problems and Tori even saves his life.
A great Novella and a nice touch of romance to give the reader a warm fuzzy feeling.
