This issue of the Rosicrucian Digest presents a compendium of materials that provide a solid introduction to the most important aspects of the Isis Mysteries.
The Ancient and Mystical Order Rosæ Crucis (AMORC), also known as the Rosicrucian Order, is the largest Rosicrucian organization in the world. It has various lodges, chapters and other affiliated bodies throughout the globe, operating in 19 different languages. It operates as a fraternal order in the mystical tradition, and supports secular research and learning in the arts and humanities.
Highly recommended for the variety of short articles about Isis and the cults surrounding her. I learned a lot and will be reading more of the Rosicrucians's jounrals.
This article contains a plethora of information about Isis from ancient times to modern times. Lucia Chiavola, Ph.D., wrote a wide ranging article about the African Dark Mother--Oldest Divinity We Know. It was excellent. Arthur Versluis, Ph.D., wrote about the Egyptian mysteries of Isis. Caitlin Matthews considered Isis as the "savior goddess the out a very long time in history. An interesting article was Apuleius in the Underworld by John Carey, Ph.D. The most excellent article was by Steven Armstrong, who wrote about The Veil of Isis. It focused on the article in the sense that it was an evolution of an archetype hidden in plain sight. It was a lengthy article, but we'll worth the effort and time. The actually applies to the entire issue. It's well worth a five star rating!
