Ice Dance Duet #2

Off the Edge

Rate this book
The Meridian Cup brought them together. The Olympics may tear them apart…

Camden

Ren and I scorched the ice with our Meridian Cup performance. After, our careers caught fire.

Now we’re on our way to the Winter Olympics in Japan. On rival teams.

It’s been months since I’ve worked with Ren, months since we’ve touched, so long that I no longer know if what we had was real, or some kind of fever dream I can’t forget.

When I see him at the Games, my body remembers how it feels to hold him close, and I can’t stop craving what we had. Craving him.

But Ren’s father is back, and Ren is more distant than ever.

Was everything we had just a fleeting dream?

Thrown into the spotlight, can we survive competing against each other, and is winning the Olympic Gold worth the price of my heart?

Ren

The time has come to prove to the world, prove to my father, that I am good enough.

But what if the one thing I am searching for cannot be found on a podium?

What if, the more I fight for Olympic gold, the more hollow I become?

Because, the only thing I truly want, the only shining light in my life, is the one impossible thing I can never have.
If I want to win, I have to let Cam go.

And if I let go of my heart, what is left to dance for?

The world watches as we circle each other; rivals on the ice, something else off it.

I cannot have him and dance for gold.

Do I dance to win or fall for love?

*

Return to the world of ice dance, where egos clash, love is complicated, and where competing against each other under the Olympic spotlights might cost Ren and Cam their hearts. The Ice Dance duet comes to its steamier, heartfelt, and emotional finale in Off the Edge.

I jumped straight into this after Ice Dance. That ending left me excited to see them competing against each other instead of on the same team.

Two rivals, reconnection, one gold metal, and no shortness of obstacles to overcome besides just winning a competition

I didn’t expect the slow start. I didn’t love them having no contact for so long. It felt like starting the tension building over again.

The second half pulled me right back in though. Devastation I didn't see coming at all. I had no clue how it would end. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see who takes gold. Who Was I supposed to root? Ren or Camden? I couldn’t pick.

Wanted to scream watching Ren helpless under his father's schemes. Powerful people doing whatever they want with zero consequences was infuriating. If you think Ren was going to take it sitting down? Think again.

And did Camden have it easier after clawing his way up from nothing? Absolutely not. His talent clearly wasn't enough. Connections get you further than hard work, and he had to fight through all of it. This poor man could not catch a break.

The ending definitely had a beautiful full circle moment for both of them. They definitely deserved it.

Overall, I really enjoyed this duet. This does not work as a standalone. You do have to read the first book before this one.

By the way, I loved this! ⛸️😌🥹😮‍💨🔥🩵

I LOVE YOU, ARIANA NASH! 😭❤️

I haven't read this fast in ages! I absolutely devoured this duet, and I loved every second of it. The story, the angst, the tension, the challenges Cam and Ren had to go through, and the way they kept fighting for each other even when everything seemed to be against them. 😭

Seeing how much they both grew, especially Ren finally finding the courage to break free from his father's claws and choose himself, made me SO HAPPY. I was rooting for them so hard!

This story made me sad, happy, frustrated, excited... basically, it put me through ALL the emotions. I loved the soundtrack, loved their skating partners, loved the competition, loved the tension between Cam and Ren... I loved pretty much everyone.

Except Ren's father. That man can go straight to hell. 😤

The skating scenes had me on edge, and the romance had me feeling EVERYTHING. What a way to finish this duet. Ariana, you did it again! 🩵⛸️

It's been a while since I've been that engaged in a series. I just couldn't put either book down and ended up staying up way too late both times.

Eighteen months have passed since the Meridian Cup, and Ren and Cam have barely spoken since it ended. Both have been selected to represent their country at the Olympics, and both have been focused on their career with their new partners. Seeing each other again brings back a lot of feelings in both of them, and they can’t ignore the fact that they still love each other.

I had to focus on the team, on the performance, on my dance partner. Not on a Canadian ice dancer I happened to have slept with, in what could only be described as a shocking lack of professionalism that had nothing to do with love.

Cam and Ren both grow so much in this duology. Cam keeps his chaotic energy and all of his passion on the ice, but he has also become more serious. Now that he is at the Olympics, he feels the pressure and the need to prove himself to the rest of the world even more than before. People keep bringing up how he was in Ren’s shadow back at the Meridian, and he needs to show everyone that he is just as good as Ren and that he deserves to be on Team Canada despite his troubled past.

Ren slowly realizes that he can’t please his father and be happy and true to himself. It’s one or the other, and after spending the past year doing everything his father asked of him, he’s had enough, and when his father starts to threaten Cam, it’s the last straw for Ren. I loved seeing him gain confidence and build his sense of self-worth based on something other than his talent for ice-skating. He is learning that he is not broken because he is attracted to men, and that he owes it to himself to be honest and to find happiness, even if it means going against what his father wants. I was so proud and so happy for him when he finally put his foot down.

While I was pretty sure that Ren and Cam would get their happy ending eventually, I had no idea what they would have to endure to get there. The fact that they haven’t seen each other for months and have barely talked created a whole new layer of tension between them once they met again at the Olympics. I loved the longing and stolen moments between them. The sweet, secret moments they shared clashed with Ren’s uncertainty, but it made his struggle feel so much more real and heartwrenching.

Their chemistry is intense, and while I can’t say that I liked the secondary characters that much, Cam and Ren more than made up for it. I had so much fun reading their story. The intensity, tension, and angst are phenomenal, and I just couldn’t stop reading.

Politics take up more room in this sequel, as Ren’a father is more present and involved in his son’s career. After the Meridian, Goro Hasegawa decided to get back into Ren’s life, only so he could boss him around and make sure that Ren would win the Olympic gold. And I mean make sure by using any means necessary, including blackmail and manipulation. I got so angry at the situations Ren and Cam found themselves in because of Ren’s dad, and I couldn’t wait for him to get some sort of consequence, or for Ren to find his courage and stand up to his father.

I was on the edge of my seat for the whole duration of the competition, waiting to see who would get the gold, because up until the very end of the competition, I couldn’t guess who would win. I really enjoyed the chapters from the commentator’s point of view. It added even more tension to the competition scenes, and it felt like I was watching it live, even though I don’t know anything about ice skating. Ariana Nash did her homework before writing this series, and it shows.

This is the type of book that just sucks you in from the very first chapter, has your heart pounding, and makes you want to skip whole paragraphs just so you can know what happens because the excitement is too high. I giggled, screeched, kicked my feet with excitement, and got a bad case of one-more-chapter with this duology. Seriously, this series is perfect for MM romance fans, sports rivalry fans, or ice skating fans. ❤️

While it had its high moments, this sequel didn’t wow me like Book 1 did. For these pages, the core plot is way too thin, and relying on over-the-top external drama to drive the twists got on my last nerve.

I can swallow a little decorative OTT nonsense—like adding lifts and jumps to ice dance. It doesn't ruin the core plot. I’ll even suspend my disbelief for a made-up competition or an open-gender category, because hey, it gives the MCs a chance to be together outside of reality.

But using OTT as a plot driver? Absolute mess. Hasegawa’s dad is literally just a team consultant for Team GB, with zero authority in the IOC or ISU, yet he can somehow single-handedly make the Olympic Committee disqualify a Canadian skater?! Where is Team Canada's own authority?

Sure, athletes get disqualified for leaving the Olympic Village in real life. But you have to pick a side! Either stick to the strict rules or ignore them entirely. You can’t use the rule to screw over the MC when the villain pulls a stunt, then completely toss the rule out the window the second the other MC turns his dad in! WHERE👏 IS👏 THE👏 CONSISTENCY👏?! The whole 'disqualify Cam, oh wait un-disqualify him' circus played out like a literal playground fight.

On a positive note, the MCs' relationship did get deeper than in Book 1, and seeing Hasegawa finally embrace his true self was genuinely rewarding. I did finish the whole book in one sitting, but I can’t really say it left me fully satisfied.

“I learned that love was not meant to be conditional. It shouldn’t have a price. It did not require sacrifice. True love was freely given.”

Well, after Ice Dance left me dangling rather rudely from THAT cliffhanger, I was very ready to get back to Ren and Camden!

Off the Edge picks up their story with both of them dealing with the consequences of everything that happened in Ice Dance and this time there’s even more at stake than their skating careers. I loved seeing their relationship develop beyond all that initial hostility and attraction, particularly as Ren begins to understand what he actually wants his life, and love, to look like.

There’s plenty of emotion, angst and difficult choices along the way, but also all the chemistry and banter I loved between these two in Ice Dance, oh and considerably more spice!🔥 Ren and Camden apparently had quite a lot to work through and they were VERY committed to the process!

Most importantly, it gives them the ending I needed after Ariana Nash so unceremoniously abandoned me at the end of book one. 😂

A fabulous, emotional and extremely spicy conclusion to the duet and another reminder of why Ariana remains one of my favourite MM authors. 🖤⛸️

What To Expect:

🖤 MM romance
🖤 Enemies to lovers
🖤 Figure skaters
🖤 Ice prince x chaos
🖤 Career vs love
🖤Some dark themes
🖤 Hurt/comfort
🖤 Angst
🖤 All the spice

Ugh okay OKAY the yearning was just as glorious as I thought it would be 🥰

With their insane push and pull, Cam and Ren once again made me rip at my hair in sheer frustration and clutch my pearls when they finally gave in. Goddamn, Ren!! Cam, baby, you're the most tenacious man in the whole Olympic village.

I knew Ren’s father would try to stir some shit, but those bitch-ass reporters along with the spineless committee got on my nerves just as much. Between all that and the suspense of who was gonna take the gold, I caught myself holding my breath more times than I could count before our precious boys got their gorgeous, gorgeous HEA (jinxed that one, didn't I?).

Still didn't care much for the ice dancing, but turns out shifting the focus to the drama surrounding a single event worked better for me.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT REN SECRETLY BEING THE NO. 1 YURI ON ICE FAN PLEASE AND THANK YOU?????

Thank you Gay Romance Reviews for the digital copy to review! I devoured the first book in this duology and immediately requested an early copy of the second. Ren and Camden's sparks and chemistry were so wonderful in book one that I needed to find out how they got their happily ever after in book two and I was not disappointed.

I love how they were competing against each other, but also trying to hold back their feelings for each other at the same time. The chemistry was still there and so visible, not just to each other but to those around them. The Olympic backdrop really set the stage for some wild moments and I was here for every single one. From each stolen kiss to the apartment intimacy to hand holding and thigh grabbing and sleeping and cuddling and showing love with one single hug, it was incredible. I was fully bought into their relationship, even with all of the obstacles. When Cam is there for Ren, realizing no one has probably shown him affection since their last interaction had me tearing up, and when Ren is there for Cam toward the end, my heart was breaking. The beauty in that moment - the passion and the love and the tenderness and care.

Speaking of - I absolutely HATED Ren's dad, what a tool. The way he tried to ruin Cam's Olympic dreams was so frustrating and the way he treated Ren was horrific. I can't imagine feeling that trapped and sacrificing your happiness so the man you're in love with gets to have his dream too. Ren's icing out Cam was so hard to read but I persevered and won because of it!! I gasped at several moments and I was SO glad when Ren came through at the end, going for the man he was in love with and not caring who knew. That Olympic kiss? Epic!!

I also really didn't know who would win gold. It would have been lovely either way, but the finish was stunning. And then how Ren and Cam moved on, and the ending of this book had me tearing up. Such a beautiful, full circle moment.

Off the Edge is the second book in the Ice Dance duet series. In my opinion this series should be read in order. We are back with Cam and Ren for the second half of their story. I couldn't put this book down once I started it. I loved getting back to these two. The first part of the book just built the tension because Cam and Ren didn't have any contact with each other. Both Cam and Ren have gone through a lot while they were apart. They still have the same chemistry between them. I loved the guys and I also loved that this is set in the Ice Dancing sport. I loved the whole story especially the ending. I would definitely recommend this book and series as 5 star reads.

Book two of the Ice Dance Duet, this book. Damn. Soooo good. Cam and Ren are just so electric. Their chemistry is just so hot. Their journey is messy, full of hurt and strength and so many ups and downs. This whole duet puts you in a chokehold and doesn't let you go. The competition, the drive to win, their growing love. Ren's dad sucks and deserves all the bad things! But watching Ren realize how crappy his father really is then releasing those expectations and holds was beautiful to watch. I loved every minute of this book, devoured it in one sitting!

This was a perfect ending to Cam and Ren's story. It took everything i loved from the first part and cranked it up to 100. I laughed at this book, i cried at this book, and man, I even yelled at this book sometimes but it was necessary and needed completely. I genuinely think this book could have been any better and even though it made me feel all of the emotions, it was perfect for these two men and the ice.

Absolutely wonderful! What a fitting ending for this duet. I really loved these characters and how much they grow throughout both books. Plus it gave me all the Yuri On Ice vibes, which is a major plus in my book.

Now I'm off to watch that anime again, because I have a craving for it for some reason, hah.

Definitely recommend this, BUT not as a standalone. You need to read both books in the duet to get the full story, but it's absolutely worth it.

I loved this book! As the second part of this duet, seeing Ren and Camden finally choose each other made my heart so happy, especially after everything they’ve been through. The tension, the angst, and the push and pull between them were so intense sometimes.

The two ice dance sequences with the commentator were amazing! They made the performances so much more exciting. I was so worried someone was going to fall that I could barely relax! And with both competing for Olympic gold, who was I supposed to root for? They both deserved to win!

There was a lovely moment when Ren acknowledged his feelings for Camden and gave himself permission to feel them:
"I wanted him more now than I had then. And this time I gave myself permission to know it. To feel it. Not as a mistake, but as part of who I was."

Seeing Ren eventually step out of his father's shadow and start choosing his own path made his journey even more satisfying. This book also hit me harder emotionally than I expected. Let's just say I wasn't prepared for everything this story would make me feel.

The only reason this wasn't 5 stars was the ice-skating jargon. I usually visualize everything when I read, but I struggled to picture some of the ice dance sequences because I didn't understand all the terminology.

Overall, I loved how Ren and Camden's story ended. They fought for their dreams, but in the end, they also had to decide what mattered most to them. A great conclusion to the duet!

Off the Edge is the second book in A. Nash’s Ice Dance duet and the books must be read in order. The opening puts us right into the lead up to the Olympics and sets the tone for where Cam and Ren are in their relationship…which is nowhere. I was definitely feeling it that at this point in their story, as they had no contact and it felt like we had to watch them build back their entire relationship. At 30%, the tension was so great and I could barely wait to see how it was going to end…who was going to win the gold, how were they going to be together, what unmanageable hurdles were to be thrown at them.

Cam and Ren get their grand HEA and a life they never imagined was possible for them. I enjoyed being in the ice dancing world and watching them go from rivals to a lifetime together, and the Ice Dance duet is well worth your time.

Book one ended in a little cliff hanger but it wasn’t long before I could read book two.
Ren has to put up with so much from his selfish father including hiding his true self but when his father turns his attention to Cam will Ren eventually stand up to him and fight for the life he wants.

Some love stories make your heart race... and others take your heart, throw it onto the ice and leave you praying these two idiots figure out that no gold medal in the world will ever be worth losing each other. Off the Edge by Ariana Nash was such an emotional, heartfelt finale to Ren and Cam’s story and I honestly wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these two.

Camden and Ren have already shown the world what they can do together on the ice but after everything that happened at the Meridian Cup, their journey is far from straightforward. Now they’re heading to the Winter Olympics in Japan on rival teams and the months they've spent apart have done nothing to erase what happened between them. Cam is left questioning whether what they shared was ever as real to Ren as it was to him while Ren is struggling under the weight of his father's expectations and the desperate need to prove that he's good enough. They’re both chasing Olympic gold but the closer they get to their dreams, the more painfully obvious it becomes that winning means very little if they have to sacrifice the person they love to get there.

Cam absolutely got to me. His longing for Ren, the uncertainty of not knowing where he stands with him and the way he can't simply switch off his feelings just because they're now competing against each other made my heart ache. He remembers what it felt like to have Ren close and being reunited only makes it harder to pretend that he can live without him. I felt for him because he's caught in that awful place between holding on to hope and protecting himself from the possibility that he might be the only one still fighting for them.

And Ren's struggle is every bit as heartbreaking. His father being back in his life brings all those expectations and insecurities bubbling to the surface and you can feel how much pressure he puts on himself to prove his worth. He's so focused on earning that gold medal and showing the world what he's capable of that he risks losing sight of what he actually wants. The saddest part is that he knows what his heart is telling him but knowing what you want and believing you're allowed to have it are two very different things. Watching him wrestle with the choice between the future he's been taught to chase and the man he can't stop wanting was one of the most emotional parts of their story for me.

What makes Cam and Ren so special is that their connection has always been about more than attraction. There's a trust and understanding between them that feels inseparable from the way they dance and seeing them pushed into opposing teams adds another layer of tension to a relationship that's already been through so much. On the ice, they're competitors with Olympic dreams but away from it, they're two men trying to work out whether there's any way to choose each other without giving up the futures they've fought so hard to build. And honestly, I just wanted them to stop hurting, stop doubting what they meant to each other and realise that love doesn't have to be the thing that holds them back.

Ariana Nash brings everything together in this finale with the emotional conflict, the competitive pressure and the complicated reality of loving someone when the timing couldn't possibly be more difficult. This is their moment and they have to decide what matters most while the whole world watches. I loved that their relationship wasn't treated as something simple that could be fixed with a single conversation, because their fears and ambitions are part of who they are, and choosing each other means confronting those things rather than pretending they don't exist.

And that title, Off the Edge, couldn't feel more fitting for the way their story unfolds. Cam and Ren are standing at the edge of everything they've worked towards, with their careers, their dreams and their hearts all on the line. The question isn't whether they want each other, because the feelings between them are impossible to ignore... it's whether they can find the courage to stop treating love and success as two things they cannot have together.

Ariana Nash, you absolute star. I loved getting to follow Ren and Cam through this duet and there's something genuinely bittersweet about reaching the end of a couple's story when you've become so invested in their happiness. They deserved the chance to stop living in fear of what loving each other might cost them and finally embrace what they could have together. This finale gave their journey the emotional weight it deserved, and I'm going to miss these two and their ice dancing world now that I've reached the end. Ren and Cam, you have my whole heart. ❤️‍🔥

OFF THE EDGE is the second part of the Ice Dance Duet, and you absolutely have to read the first book to fully appreciate this one.

I went into this all hopeful after the ending of book one, but my hopes were quickly dashed. My heart broke for both Cam and Ren after hearing how the past eighteen months or so had gone. As for Ren's sperm donor, well, he can go and do one.

A separation by distance may make things easier to ignore, but put these two in any sort of close proximity, and you will see sparks fly. And do you know what? I loved that. These two are polar opposites in so many ways, but they complement each other so well. And I will admit, it's nice to see Ren loosen up a little when Cam is by his side. Their personalities continue to shine and grow, and they are ably supported by a brilliant cast of new-and-old faces.

I've loved watching Ice Dance ever since I was little and seeing Torvill and Dean in the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympics. To me, this book brought back all those memories, the hush of the crowd, the commentators, and the sheer power and grace on the ice.

Both of these books are outstanding, and both got 5 out of 5 exceptional stars. I really can't recommend them highly enough. This author is now a one-click for me.

I knew that the second half of Ren and Cam's story would be compelling, but I still wasn't prepared for the way these characters sucked me in and put my heart through the wringer. The icy coldness Ren carried had no chance of withstanding Cam's heat, and yet as the Olympics drew closer it felt like their divide was impossible to overcome. The forced proximity of living in Olympic Village played a big role in getting Ren and Cam back into each other's orbits, and I so loved watching the two of them melt for each other in private. Ren had the weight of his father's expectations holding him down, and a big part of his personal journey was freeing himself from that toxicity. There were so many elements that blended together to make this book fantastic -- the elite athleticism of ice dance, the emotional beats that made Ren and Cam's happy ending feel impossible at times, the aching love-you-but-can't-have-you romance that lit up fiery sparks of chemistry, and the tension from external forces trying to sabotage everything these men had been working towards. I read this entire book in one sitting because I couldn't tear myself away, and all I can say is that every bit of heartache and pain was worth it to see Ren and Cam shine at the end. My heart has never felt fuller watching them dance on the ice together, and it was wonderful to see the future they crafted together.

Marvelous second half of story

First off I should say that I hardly ever read sports romance, but I do enjoy Ariana Nash’s work and gave this duology a try and I’m glad because I really enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure if Nash could keep up the quality of book one, but honestly I think she surpassed it. The characters are definitely the best part of the books for me as I loved the way that Camden and Ren are such different people and the angst that Nash puts them through makes for a great read.
I have watched a lot of ice dancing on TV and the way that Nash describes things was so good that I could almost see these two in my brain. I sometimes had to stop and reread some bits because they were just so luscious. She gives us a great villain in Ren’s dad, but I’m glad that she didn’t rely solely on him for the problems that Cam and Ren have.
I was wondering how these books would turn out because they are unlike anything she has written before, but I should not have doubted! They are wonderful.

simply wow

Oh my!! Wow, what can I say. Again absolutely beautiful. The torture these boys go through, mainly caused by one god awful human!!
Poor Cam, I will say no more as I can’t spoil it. But yea poor poor Cam, my heart went out to him so much.
Hid how I cried, so many times, it was totally unexpected. Even in the happy moments I was a blubbering mess.
I did not know what to expect when I decided to give these books a go (this is part 2 of a duet) and I don’t normally do duets, but something pulled me in and it kept me there all the way through.
I won’t be able to say enough about how wonderful this story was, I would strongly suggest you read it and see for yourselves.
True emotion all the way through, joy, anger, sadness, annoyance and love. Truly stunning.
I love an enemies to lovers/rivals to lovers, but this is not the dark kind of hatred, there is none of that, so don’t read if that’s what you are expecting. It is so much more, it is deep, emotional, heartbreaking and so very moving.
Gah, now I need to sit and stare at a wall for a.while to bring myself back to reality.

I was so eager to read the conclusion to this duet, and it did not dissapointed one bit. It was perfection. We pick up 18 months after we left off in book one. Cam and Ren now rivals in the Olympics, and the tension and pressure were palpable.
I was rooting so hard for their second chance. Every bit of the tension and angst was so worth it. Once again, the description of their ice dancing was completely entrancing, beautiful, and so easy to visualize. I wish I could see it in real life.
Camden and Ren deserve their HEA after everything. Their story is so full of heart and emotionally charged. I felt all the emotions, and it was worth the roller-coaster.

I loved this one! A great conclusion to the duet! I laughed. I cried. I was hooked and refused to put this down until I knew what happened!

This picks up 18 months after the end of book one. Ren and Cam have gone from partners to rivals in the Olympics. This was an emotional roller coaster! Every time they got close they were ripped apart. They worked hard for the HEA. They grew so much, individually and together, and I loved reading their journey.

I adored this duet! Both five star reads and I’m so happy with how it ended. Thank you to the author and GRR for my early copy!

Cam and Ren, two men from different starts, now trying to find their way in a similar situation. They miss each other, my heart hurt for them both. So many pulls and demands from others. I was dying for them to be together again. Ren was stuck in his world of dominating family power, and I loved watching Cam become supportive. This one had a very frustrating and angsty start!

Book 1 was breathtaking, and somehow book 2 might be even BETTER?!

This one felt rawer, more emotional, and hit me right in the feels. Ren and Cam are back, now rivals at the Japan Olympics after 18 months apart, and GAWD, the push and pull, the feelings they keep dancing around, the PASSION and chemistry?! I flipping adore these two.

We get to see a different side of Ren, and if I wasn’t already smitten with him, I’m completely GONE. And Cam? You can’t help but root for him.

I could ramble forever about these two, but honestly, just do yourself a favour and read this duet. The emotions, the characters, the ice dance… ALL OF IT.

As good as the first book was, this one is even better. If you're concerned about reading an Ariana Nash book because she's known for dark romance, don't be. This contemporary sports romance demonstrates that she can write anything she chooses. And if you're a fan of her dark books, but not sure about reading this because it's not dark, I urge you to give this duet a try.

I tried three times to put this book down to get some sleep, but I kept picking it back up. I couldn't bear to tune out - I NEEDED to know what happened next, and then I had to see how it ended. I laughed and cried, cussed and cheered, swooned and sighed. I sobbed happy tears at the ending, which was absolutely perfect. An emotional roller coaster from start to finish, Ariana weaves the Olympic experience, world-class ice dancing, poignant romance, and just the right amount of spice together into a lovely story that will stay with me for a long time.

You must read Ice Dance first, but it's an amazing book and you'll be glad you had all that time with Ren and Cam.

Second part of an excellent duology. Cam and Ren had had no contact for 18 months and were now both ice dancing at the Olympics. The whole first part of this second book had them barely interacting, almost as if all the emotional rollercoaster of the first book hadn't happened. The second part was where everything happened, with Ren's intense father causing even more issues than before. The ice dancing was really nice to read about. The ending wrapped everything up perfectly.

The angsty vibes in this were perfect! I was torn between wanting to binge it and also savour it.
Cam and Ren 🖤 I don't even know what to say.
Their chemistry and passion just kept me wanting more.
Also watching Ren grow was everything. He's my favourite in this. I adore him!

I was given a copy of the arc from the Author for an honest review.

It's been eighteen months. Camden and Ren have gone their separate ways. Cam has worked hard to recover and get back to ice dancing. He hasn't forgotten Ren and misses him every day. Ren has gone back to England and is working with a new partner. Cam and Ren both have partners that compliment their styles perfectly. After all their hard work, they've both been picked to represent their countries in the Winter Olympics. Meeting again in Japan has them realizing that they still love each other. Between practicing trouble starts brewing as someone has it out for Cam. Ren is trying hard to protect Cam and Cam is trying hard to enjoy what he's earned. Also there's a huge loss for Cam that throws him for a loop. When all the troubles are smoothed out, these two go up against each other, giving their best performances ever. Have they grown enough to make a relationship work or are they destined to be ships passing in the night.

This was a fitting end to this duology. Cam grows so much as a person and ice dancer. He starts taking things more seriously while still having fun. He never feels better than when he's on the ice. Ren goes through a lot of heartache before he realizes he's never going to be happy trying to please his father, while he buries his true self. When Ren's father pulls his last card to control him and his career, he does the ultimate sacrifice to protect the one he loves. Cam and Ren along with their partners make it to the Olympic ice dance finals. They're neck and neck with their scores. Each of them deserves the gold but only one can win gold. They're both so supportive of each other. There's no jealousy or underhandedness between them. They both skated their all time best and both deserved the gold. I would've been happy with either of them winning gold. When the competition is over and the medals given out Cam and Ren get the opportunity to skate their routine that they missed out on in book one. When their time in Japan is done they go their separate ways again. Cam's in Canada missing Ren. Ren's in England making plans for his life after skating. Hopefully these two can work things out to stay together. This book has all the feels. I was so frustrated with Ren's push and pull but I could understand why he did it. I liked all of the supporting characters except Ren's father. There was no redemption for him. I highly recommend this duology.
