Having been a both a minister and a counselor in training, I found the book to meet typical expectations. The book offered me little new information excepting the chapter on "disenfranchised grief," which was helpful. The early portions of the book need some editing and revision (perhaps it was formatting problems on the kindle version). I found that latter portions of the book to be more helpful and engaging than the beginning chapters. For the kindle price, the book is worth having in your library. If you're looking for something drastically new in the field of grief counseling and you already have a good knowledge of grief and loss, this book may not be what you're looking for, however, the strength of chapters 8-12 are certainly worth having a copy. It would also serve a helpful introduction to grief work for ministers, elders, and all members of a church.

Great book on the subject. The only problem exists in the first few chapters where there are editing issues. In the third chapter, there's a major editing issue. Other than that, it's a good book.
