A sweet Indian romance with a distinctly Bollywood charm. ❤️
Burnt Maggi follows Sachin, a Maharashtrian engineer from Kolhapur, and Mrinalini, a Bengali girl from Kolkata, whose lives unexpectedly cross and gradually become intertwined.
What I enjoyed most was the simplicity of their connection. Their relationship grows through ordinary conversations and small moments, giving the romance a warm and natural feel.
The Maharashtrian-Bengali cultural elements added another lovely layer to the story, and I particularly enjoyed the way the author brought in little details that made the setting and characters feel more grounded.
The Kolkata-to-Kolhapur train journey was definitely a highlight for me. 🚂 I won't say much because it's better experienced while reading, but the little details throughout the journey made it one of my favourite parts and gave the story such a cute, cinematic quality.
Overall, Burnt Maggi is a light, comforting romance with Indian culture, travel, unspoken feelings and old-school Bollywood vibes.
A lovely pick when you're looking for something warm and easy to read.
