An amazing thought provoking story. This is the second book I have read by Russ Barr and he is so original and I love the concept of this one.
We follow the journey of a ten pound note from its creation and all the colourful lives it encounters along the way. If anyone were to notice, this particular ten pound note has a slight defect, The Queen appears to be smirking. On the journey we meet so many characters that have this note in their possession for a short time. A drug dealer, a stripper, a pawn broker….a homeless man are some of these people and each and every person is so fascinating and this book holds so many stories within stories.
As well as thought provoking I also found it very emotional and raw at times. The things people have to do for money or what a ten pound note means to one, doesn’t necessarily mean the same to someone else. A great read

Such a fun concept, following a ten pound note around the streets of London in the 90's! It is nostalgic, funny, tense, with great characters and a very well written story. This book is perfect for people who want a funny, fast paced, thrilling, intertwining read, with an amazing concept as the backbone. 10/10
