The Adventures of Amos Jelkie, Ghost Hunter

by Sydney Chambers, I.A. Watson, Gavin Saunders (Introduction)

Before THOMAS CARNACKI; before JOHN SILENCE; before FLAXMAN LOW came... AMOS JELKIE.

The Adventures of Amos Jelkie, Ghost Hunter, a series of stories by Sydney Chambers, first appeared in The Halfpenny Marvel in 1896. Recently rediscovered and reprinted by Cathaven Press, we present them here, along with a longer work, A Living Death.
I.A. Watson has risen superbly to the challenge and produced four new stories about Amos Jelkie, and the result is a great new volume of tales about a lost Victorian Occult Detective.

Amos Jelkie, forgotten until recently, and *the* original Occult Detective.

In this volume are all the original Amos Jelkie stories, printed in “The Halfpenny Marvel” in 1896-1897, plus another longer story “A Living Death”. Rounding out the collection are four new tales, written by I.A Watson, which resurrect Jelkie and fill in some of the gaps left by the Victorian stories.

Don’t be fooled by the fact these originated in a periodical for boys. These works can get grisly!
