I will no longer be reading this series. The H and h broke up at the end of the first book. The H leaves to do a competition and one month later the h starts sleeping with the guy the H accused her of liking. They are together for 2 weeks when the H returns and the h immediately breaks up with the guy and sleeps with the H. It was so stupid. I'm furious at this author for ruining such a great story. The h started off this series with her mind set on her studies and was originally reluctant to start a relationship with the H. She falls for him and they are great together. Her boss warns her over and over again not to be a distraction or cause problems with the fighters bc they are working towards getting a contract with the big leagues. She assures him that she will remain focused on her own goals. Of course, this donkey causes many problems in the gym. After her break up with the H, she says that she is only looking for a friend but then she sleeps with the other guy so quickly. I was shocked. There is an expression "don't sh*t where you eat." This airhead learned nothing. Then she drops the other guy so fast and immediately goes back to sleeping with the H. As if the other guy was just an object to use and throw away. How can someone like that want to be a social worker and take care of kids who have been discarded? She defends her relationship with the other guy by claiming that she wasn't together with the H at the time. Then it is revealed that the H mistakenly sleeps with another woman while he was at the competition. What does the h say when she finds out? She accuses the H of cheating on her!! Yep, pot meet kettle.
My review contains spoilers and they're mostly my thoughts as I went with the book... for more, visit Punya Reviews...
Hold 2 of Hold Trilogy by Jayne Blue went so off the track that I’m not even sure how I finished it. I liked book 1 quite a lot so I was very excited to finish the trilogy. Each installment came out a month apart and even with those irritating cliffys, I could barely wait to read. Unfortunately, this time wait hasn’t been worth it.
Just to tell you first that I absolutely despise love triangles as more often than not it ruins the story for me. Either a completely good person gets hurt in the end, or does something to try my patience and I keep wondering why on earth this individual is even a part here. I don’t always see the point of a love triangle and try to avoid any book containing it. The first installment, Hold 1, gave a hint of a building like that and I got apprehensive instantly. My apprehension was due to the fact that the third member of this triangle was more infatuated than in love with the heroine. Or so I felt he was. I was hoping for a smart way to tackle this unfortunate buildup but the author completely messed up in this installment. If it was done to create angst and intrigue, it failed quite royally IMO.
In book 1, we meet this orphaned girl Cassidy who was desperately looking for a job when she finds one as an assistant in a gym called Great Wolves (GWG). It’s a gym which trains MMA fighters. She’s quite brilliant and soon Cassidy shines in her job, helping Whitey, the ancient trainer with anything that needed the help of technology like computer, to handle it.
Cassidy also makes friends with the fighters of the gym, who were tickled to have a young (and only) girl among them. One of them was certainly too interested in her! Craddock Flynn is the best among the bunch and has a top notch ranking in MMA world. He hasn’t been beaten yet. His close rival is Zeke, who comes only second to Craddock’s first. Craddock is as dark and broody as Zeke is fair. He has this all around ‘good boy’ vibe around him. He’s called The Preacher’s Son for a reason, as his father is one. He has a big support base too and charms Cassidy with his smiles and jokes, while Craddock is basically a loner. But no matter what Zeke does, Craddock has already staked his claim on Cassidy. She seemed much more inclined to Craddock’s dark sexual appeal, though she doesn’t let Zeke out of her sight either. After all she thinks he’s a ‘good friend’ and becomes quite intimate with him too.
This was such a bad idea as Zeke and Craddock had this epic rivalry. They would do almost anything to beat each-other down, use techniques to hurt each-other too. While Craddock was private, his only vulnerable spot now was Cassidy. Craddock is a family man, who absolutely loves his mother and autistic elder brother Dylan. Now he was in love and there was no turning back for him.
Even though she starts sleeping with Craddock almost as soon as they met, Cassidy would flirt with Zeke as well. Craddock would get jealous and mad, which annoyed me a lot. I didn’t like his caveman-ish behavior in book 1 but he was right to have suspected something about Zeke as I found in the end. Cassidy on the other hand, it seemed would always take Zeke’s words over Craddock’s. She claimed she loved Craddock but felt smothered by his possessiveness, which would create conflicts more often than not. Zeke would also goad Craddock from afar, which either Cassidy doesn’t notice all that much or she’s plain dumb. I liked her but after book 2, think I’d have to agree with the later.
As the drama regarding ‘who would get Cassidy’ plays on, they also get ready for a big championship. The winner of this championship would get an offer of a lifetime which would surely launch his career as a professional MMA fighter. Then there was the insane amount of money they always dreamed of earning. Craddock wanted to win because he was thinking of taking care of his mom and Dylan and he wanted Cassidy’s support, who seemed supportive too... But then things go horribly wrong, thanks to Zeke once again.
Very unsurprisingly its Craddock and Zeke face in the final. Cassidy finds herself in a dilemma about whom to support. Zeke keeps nagging her to leave Craddock to be with him and if Cassidy ever said ‘no’, there was no conviction in her statement. She was forever confused, plain and simple. She had no idea what she wanted from either guy. So in the final Zeke strikes in the nastiest way possible to goad Craddock as he always does, to do something drastic to ruin his career and manipulate Cassidy to his side. It works like the charm! Too many misunderstandings after that and Craddock and Cassidy split up right after the final. Zeke is “injured” by Craddock and all Cassidy’s sympathy now lie with Zeke.
Craddock, on the other hand, is given a wild card on a TV show about MMA fighters. He takes it, flies away to film. It was tough for him to leave Cassidy but he was sure she wanted Zeke over him, while Cassidy thought he spend night with some other girls to shake off his disqualification from the match. It was an overly silly misunderstanding but there it was!
There book 1 ends, leaving me really anxious about what’s going to happen next. I was sympathetic towards Cassidy even though it seemed Zeke was successful in taking her away from Craddock. And I was right. Cassidy doesn’t even think twice before jumping into bed with Zeke, that too in about 2 weeks into her ‘break up’ with Craddock. Zeke was obviously the rebound guy even if he was trying to convince Cassidy that he ‘loved’ her. Did she even feel anything remotely like love for Craddock? I didn’t think so.
It seemed she and Zeke were together for about 2/3 weeks when Craddock returns to his hometown for a visit, courtesy his new TV show. They were filming a family oriented episode for each player, hence the return. Craddock was having a ball in there, even if the thought of Cassidy hurt him. So far, he’d only blamed himelf for everything and thought there was no chance for him to get her back. Would that he knew how easy that would be! What Craddock didn’t know but guessed that Cassidy was already humping Zeke. He was also unaware that that in the filming of one of the episodes, he’d been set up by the TV producer on a secret scene where he was drugged, all because they wanted more view and ratings. As if Craddock’s life didn’t have enough drama going at that moment! ;-s
Now back to Cassidy and her clueless self. The moment Craddock is back, her va-ja-ja begins to croon his name once again, Zeke can go take a hike. In fact, in about 2 days, she dumps Zeke and sleeps with Craddock once again because ‘she realized hadn’t gotten over him yet’. Also because FINALLY Craddock tells her about Zeke’s nasty stunt on that final, giving her the perfect excuse to break up with him. OMG! If I was absolutely disgusted by her sleeping with Zeke so soon, I was annoyed as hell at this. I mean WTF?!! Can’t these idiots find another girl? She has repeatedly proven herself to be a person of bad judgment, lacking the brain where relationships were concerned. To make it worse, she didn’t seem to be interested in any of them exclusively at all! It was very obvious that sex was all she wanted with whomever (Zeke or Craddock) was available to give it to her! She claimed to be the type who wanted relationship... really??!
But that’s not all that made me so mad. After they sleep together, Craddock, who was superbly happy to have his girl back again with him, this time was letting himself be manipulated by Cassidy. She wanted to keep this hush-hush as if she was embarrassed to face that she’s *back with* Craddock, whereas he thought with TV show and all, this would protect their privacy. However, since she also dumped Zeke, everybody in the gym more or less knew that she’s now humping Craddock once more. Zeke was angry and I knew he’d be trouble. He keeps pestering Cassidy with the same sob story of his love and what he did to ruin that final was to get her, for their relationship as *he* thought she’s better off with him than Craddock bla bla bla bla bla (kill me now!). He even manages to soften her up where she’d again chat and flirt with him, hug him in the plain view of Craddock, who would try to contain his anger because he’d promised to “trust” her this time. What he did to Craddock was forgotten. Just.like.that. WOW!
Poor guy. Craddock was doing everything in his powers to keep Cassidy with him... until that freakin’ episode where he was set with another girl airs. This time Cassidy gets a slap right on her face, though her brain remains asleep. She accuses Craddock of CHEATING on her, stomps away, then breaks up with him again.
Hypocritical much, hmm Cassidy? How is it cheating when YOU broke up with him in the first place before skipping off with Zeke? How can you even dare to accuse Craddock of cheating when YOU WERE THE ONE f*cking another guy at that time? So in that “break up”, when you sleep with someone it’s not cheating and if he does, it’s cheating? Seriously?????? You string two guys along, play with them never giving them any specific answer. You never could make up your mind between the two. Now you do and say whatever you wish? I was so stunned, shocked...... flabbergasted by her holier-than-thou attitude, trying to accuse Craddock. It was stupendous. He was again left with guilt because he had no idea what happened until much later in the story. Even then, he held himself guilty for f*cking things up again. Bravo on making him feel like sh!t once again! Honestly, I wanted to beat her up for even opening her mouth about cheating. BITCH!
Seriously guys, there are other, smarter women out there. Go find one and leave this loony, dumb bitch to her clueless and self-centered little self! Then again, I despise Zeke too. So much for “Preacher’s Son”. My foot! He and Cassidy deserve one another actually. I wish the author would make these two disappear and pair Craddock with someone who deserves him. That girl Julie who was also as much a victim of that video set up as Craddock, I think I like her.
Unfortunately, the way book 2 ended, it seemed Craddock has made up his mind to win Cassidy over... yet once again. I can’t even begin to imagine why. Seesh!
2 stars but barely made it. Hope I’ve explained my utter dislike of this installment, which made me leave this story off for a long time before picking up just to finish it. Have to specifically mention the numerous silly typos throughout that shouldn’t have been in a published book, more so on one that’s priced almost at $4.
I’m not even sure I wanna pick up Hold 3 since I’ve all but lost all my interest. A good story gone to waste. What a shame! I don’t even know what the author was thinking!

*sigh* Craddock is the definition of a true alpha. How I loved his jealous ways in #1 and the word Aghra he used occasionally, meaning "love", yeah, lucky Cassidy.
This picked up from a cliffy that is sure to anger anyone. Craddocks jealousy got the best of him during a fight and his actions cost him all he had worked for. In his moment of need, Cassidy was nowhere to be found, he was convinced Cassidy had been betraying him after all this time, therefore ending them.
Craddock is offered a spot on Tough to the Top a reality show to give him another chance at the 21C title. He takes it and he's off to Vegas.
In the meantime Cassidy is learning to live without him, she continues volunteering in a health clinic and working her position at the gym with the fighters she has come to know over her time there. Friendship with one of them turns to more, she has finally began to move forward. She thought anyhow until news came that Craddock and two others were returning to their hometown gym for a training week to air on the show. Now what does she do, she's not over Craddock but he has wronged her and she's moved on. Her new relationship is threatened and he isn't happy.
"I was wrong. Stupid. Insecure. I was so afraid to lose you that I drove you away. It is all on me."~~CRADDOCK
[image error]
You'll just have to read about that mess. Hell I was scared for a bit that she would go after Dr. Showers, *snort* Anyway what's a girl to do being the object of two alpha's affection? Anything she wants, and she does although, playing with emotions doesn't sit well with me. Yet I can't say that's what she did intentionally, but hell, she wasted no time. Then oops, troubles again.
"In front of every person here I swear I'm going to do everything it takes to show you who is the better man, how to play by the rules and who is going to get the girl!"~~ZEKE
I had about enough of her! Double standards. There is so much more to Craddock, this big bossy piece of goodness. And the love for his big brother, don't get me started...READ! Just when you would expect him to be a man whore, he will surprise you.
Craddock will fight his way to the top for the 21C, again without Cassidy.
"Im coming for you Craddock Flynn"~~ZEKE
After tragedy strikes home for Craddock and his brother Dylan. Craddock is put back on the road and he has big plans for Cassidy.

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review Jayne Blue I've enjoyed plenty of her other books. So I was so happy to be given opportunity to give my opinion on her new Series Hold
I had a hard time writing this review, Cuz I didn't want to give away too much in my review ... I would definitely recommend this book... This is book 2 in a 3 part series In the Hold Trilogy Book Two - Cassidy and Craddock learn that letting go can sometimes be harder than holding on.....
Craddock: Craddock feels that Cassidy lied & betrayed with his enemy & rival (Zeke).. Great Wolves Gym had kicked him out when he kneed Zeke Powell in the head. So much for loyalty. The league had disqualified Craddock Craddock dream of becoming Professional MMA fighter was seem to be lost with his title .. Until he got unexpected call from Meyer Thompson - offering him to be a contestant in Tough to the Top.” in Vegas. Tough to the Top was the reality show that offered the winner a spot at a real 21C title. Tough to the Top and Vegas were his second chance. This time no woman, nor the Preacher’s Son's bullshit, was going to get in his way. Craddock start focus all his time & energy on his Career in the MMA... Craddock was able to keep his temper under control in this book. Craddock had realized that his temper is what put him in this bad place
Cassidy:
Cassidy Parker had no idea how this had gone so wrong. She loved Craddock - Craddock loved her? Why was he with those women? It made her physically sick. She had given him everything. She opened herself up to him. Why had decided to hurt her?
Cassidy friendship with Zeke started to become more, but when Zeke touch Cassidy it wasn't the same special feeling she got when Craddock touch her.. Cassidy try to overcome her feeling for Craddock deciding the only way she could forget Craddock was to re-focus, remember what Craddock did to her , re-commit to her own goals. She was not here to fall in love. She was here to pay the rent while she got her social work degree.
Everything seem to be falling into place for Cassidy now Her school was paid for with her grant... .. Cassidy had focus on all the upcoming fight events for work. Her relationship with Zeke seem calm & drama free.. until Cassidy found out that Craddock training this week in their home gyms Cassidy needed to stop this roller coaster with Craddock and Zeke
Now Bess & Sawyer that's one book I wouldn't mind reading ..... I believe the final installment of this series the characters will be facing some big challenges.... I am looking forward to the next addition to this Trilogy..... I am so glad that I will not have to wait long for the next installment Hold Trilogy Book 1- - Release Date June 8, 2015 Hold Trilogy Book 2- Release Date July 15,2015 Hold Trilogy Book 2- Release Date August 21, 2015 I am rooting for Cassidy & Craddock, Dylan
Review for HOLD TRILOGY : BOOK TWO I was holding my breath for this book even though I was devastated at the end of book one. Craddock not only broke Cassidy’s heart…his actions broke mine too. So I was hoping to find some redemption for both of them in this book….and I wasn’t disappointed. Craddock has gone to Vegas to get his wish of still getting into the 21CFL…another fight league…after his disastrous fight with THE PREACHERS SON. He is still convinced Cassidy cheated on him and he wanted to hurt her. He accomplished that. What he doessn’t know is that he has also left the door wide open for Zeke to come through, just as he had planned. Craddock is totally focused in Vegas, knows why he is there, and nothing is going to stop him this time. As the contestants are whittled down from 16 to 8 in the first round, Craddock has a better idea of who will be the last two men standing, and he knows he is going to be one of them. What he doesn’t know is that there are sleazy producers and assistants there willing to do anything to achieve their goals….even if that means drugs and foul play. When the fighters are down to four, it is decided that they will go to their home gyms for training once again. This means Craddock and Cassidy are going to be together once again. While Craddock has been in Vegas, Cassidy has started her internship at Wayne State and loves it. She has also become involved with Zeke, which was his plan all along. She has also been looking in on Craddock’s brother Dylan occasionally. Of course, there is going to be some conflict, but Craddock has to hold it together for the cameras. When Jessie drops a bomb about the timing of Cassidy and Zeke getting together, Craddock knows he has screwed up big time and hopes like hell he can convince Cassidy to give him another chance. Cassidy is stunned to learn what Zeke said to Craddock in the ring that caused Craddock to snap. She confronts Zeke and he confirms what he had said. That makes Cassidy pull back from Zeke, mostly because he lied, but also because she never got over Craddock. When Cassidy comes to Craddock to apologize, they cannot stay out of each others arms or lives. But Craddock knows he has to play it smart this time…and he does. But all that flies out the window while they are watching the tapes of the show and Craddock realizes he has been setup…and Cassidy runs once again. Mad as hell, Craddock confronts the producer and gets a wake up call. He will finish what he started in Vegas, but by his rules this time. When he gets the proof he needs after winning, he plays his trump card and wins. Now his mind is made up and he is going to get Cassidy back, he’s not exactly sure how, but he is willing to play dirty to get her once again. Will his plan work…or will Cassidy be able to walk away this time and never look back ??
Oh my god I am getting total whiplash from this girl!! So this book was worse then the first one. Cassidy can't figure out who she loves and wants to be with, she goes from one guy to another and then back to the first guy then dumps him again for absolutely nothing! It was a complete double standard on her part. Does this author even know how to write a story?? On the only good note I can find here is that I really like Sawyer and Bess. I'm about to read the third book and I'm there is little hope that it can save the story but I'll give it a try.
4.25 stars! The second book was so good!! I'm going straight into the third and final book of the series! What a mess Craddock and Cassidy have created!
I struggled to finish this. Cassidy is a fustrating character. I got whiplash from this women not being able to make up her damm mind. She finally gets together with Zeke. I loved The Preachers Son he was nice and not a total caveman but drops him as soon as Craddock is back in the picture. I hate how she loves a violent, extremely jealous man and the ending was awful. Just showed how obsessed he is with her and he needs to control her. Can't bring myself to read the 3rd one. Shame since the 1st one was really good
Holy hell! You can bet your ass I skimmed the hell outta this! Barely 1.5 Stars.
The most infuriating characters if ever! They're idiots, the whole lot of them.... BUT WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT ME?! Cause I totally wanna see where this shit goes...
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) I'm not prepared to drop $5.21 AUD on the conclusion so I'm off scour reviews and save my money!
Poor Cass is in a tailspin after splitting from Craddock. He is not fairing any better. He gets another opportunity to fight and prove himself but at what cost.
* I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the author* **However I also bought it because I loved it**
Oh, Jayne, what are you doing to me by leading me on like this? We start with Craddock getting a 2nd chance to get into the 21c by doing a reality show in Vegas. He believes that he has been lied to and betrayed by Cassidy, the woman he has falling in love with, thanks to Zeke his biggest rival. He decides to do what he has to in order to win Tough To The Top so he can help his mom and his brother. He becomes a really big hit on the reality show, but he doesn't realize that there are lies and deceit all around him. In the meantime back home we find Zeke doing everything in his power to win Cassidy and he does, but for how long? She is still deeply in love with Craddock and when Tough To The Top brings Craddock home to train at GWG he finds himself faced with a truth that makes him realize that he has to make some serious changes in his life. Just when he thinks that things are finally getting back and track deceit & tragedy hit him below the belt (pun intended).
This book saw Craddock finally getting his head on straight and taking steps to become a man. We finally see the man in Craddock. We find Cassidy doing her best to find herself but in one instance we also find out just how childish and hypocritical she can be as well. I was very disappointed in her behavior but I also understand it is necessary for the continuation of our story, I would love nothing more than to see Cassidy have to seriously apologize for the way she acted. She shouldn't be allowed to get off so easy.
I really want that next book, and I want it now! This is a great love story.
Jayne never lets me down and this is no exception! I just love Craddock so much. I can feel his heartbreak and his anger at the situation and at himself and even at Cassidy. Zeke has always rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t know why but he does. He is portrayed as this perfect son who is looking to make his dad, the preacher, happy. I think he has his own demons he is hiding. He said from the beginning he was going to take Cassidy and he has in the beginning of this book. Lies always come back to bite you in the ass though and Zeke is keeping a big one from Cassidy. I love that the book picks up with the same scene as the one where the previous one ended. Cassidy has become as much a part of the GWG family as any of the guys. She has won all of them over with her charm and her sweetness, and with her support of their success. I am rooting for her! I also love that Sawyer is a permanent fixture in this book. Poor Craddock, his story continues to break my heart, but I still have hope that he will navigate his way through everything and come out on top! Looking forward to the last book, even though I hate to say that it will be the last!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review!
Solid five stars for the great improvement to the first novel. The action and storyline picked up right where it left off in the first one. Craddock did redeem himself in this which made me like him more where as Zeke showed more of his true self which isn't very likeable. I didn't care too much for Cassedy in this one as she turned into a whiney wishy washy person. She needed to get her goals in line and stick to it. There was still some editing needs that could have been corrected with having someone else or multiple editors look it over before publishing. The reason I rated high for this was because the storyline did pick up and you got to see the different sides of the main characters, the action was good, and most of all because Craddock grew in this installment. That in itself made a difference on how I viewed and rated.
I loved The Torrid Trilogy & signed up to Jayne Blue’s website and I was lucky to receive a *free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
The world of MMA seems to be spiralling out of control for Craddock & Cassidy thanks to certain people just out to put on a good show and Zeke the creep who doesn’t deserve Cassidy as a friend or anything else. Will their relationship be able to go on I for one am definitely #TeamCraddock&Cassidy. It’s great to see that Sawyer from The Great Wolves MC book is also in this story be interesting to see where his life is heading. Bonus we also get a treat at a sneak look at new series about one other character from this book in ‘WLUV Book 1 – The consultant which is free on amazon at the moment so extra bonus.
HOLY MOLY! I am so lovin this trilogy!!! First off though I wanted to slap some sense into Cassidy. After Craddock's stunt in book #1 with the two blondes. As soon as she sees him again she immediately dumped Zeke and went running back to Craddock with her legs wide open. I was literally screaming at my Nook. Lol. Man, this book was so intense I have a headache. Lol. But I can't wait to read book #3! This story is full of intense mystery, suspense, tears, lots and lots of tears. But also lots os smokin hot sex and that totally makes up for the headache. Lol. I highly recommend this trilogy to everyone.
Can I give negative stars? If so I would. I didn't finish this book because the H/h are tstl!!! Angst and drama are one thing with one of the main characters but when both are tstl, well it's just agravating and frustrating!!! I read for pleasure, freedom, removal from everyday drama and stress. This book caused me more!!! Maybe if I had finished it would have gotten better but when I'm reading and stressed well I just can't do it. Pass, it's not worth it!!!! This book to me was not enjoyable! I do not recommend reading unless you need to add stress to your every day life and just need to feel tied in knots reading!!! I am in the minority with my review but it's how this book made me feel.
I swear to God, I want to punch her right in the face! All this bullshit with Zeke... And accusing Crad of cheating... Really? Look in the mirror lady. A little hypocrite don't you think? Get over yourself. You're so lucky he keeps coming for you over and over. In his place I would dump your sorry ass. So angry right now. I hope she starts to behave in the 3rd book because right now, he's too good for her.
I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I absolutely love Craddock and Cassidy's story! The back and forth of a relationship and with Craddock's MMA career taking off is exciting to read. Throw in Zeke and his adoration and "love" for Cassidy it makes for great reading. Don't forget the steamy sex! I hope Hold 3 comes soon.
This segment of story was an improvement over book one with more character growth. I really like this story! Cassidy is a woman, a flawed woman who makes mistakes. The love triangle was a mess, but I am very hopeful for where book 3 will lead.
I really do wish all the segment/bits of story would be combined into one book instead of breaking it up for a higher price value.
This second book in the Hold trilogy was just as captivating as the first book. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed in Cassidy for her choices in this one, but I think that it was a very realistic reaction from someone who had so little previous relationship experience.
This book was all about the MMA fighting. It was really good. Although I like to book one more this book still earned four stars. I have a feeling book 3 will earn five stars again!
