Buying tickets to every concert on the Rolling Stones North American tour, this devastated suburban housewife packs up the car and takes to the road. Following the Rolling Stones from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City, Ginny experiences freedom for the first time, while coping with the insecurities and limiting beliefs that had kept this small town girl’s life far too small. Bree Cooper is a nomad, a free-spirited drifter, and a mother who abandoned responsibility – and her young daughter – years before. When Ginny meets Bree at a roadside diner, they impulsively make the decision to throw their lot in together. In each other they find a friendship that they both had longed for. Bree also gives Ginny a chance to have a mother-figure who inspires independence and encourages confidence, while Ginny gives Bree a chance to get parenting right on the second try.

Ever take a road trip with somebody you just recently met?
That's what Ginny and Bree do together.....A ROCK- in - ROLL road trip!

Bree has a daughter who attends a private boarding school. Her daughter, Victoria, 15 years old, has dreams to become a lawyer. Bree despises lawyers....and tells her new friend, Ginny, that her daughter is "cute kid, but a pain I the butt".
Does, that give you a hint about the health of their mother/daughter relationship?
So, ... Bohemian - free- spirited - spontaneous- eccentric- girl- 'Bree'-begins her journey with self-transformation -- she and Ginny become mutually supported friends.

Ginny- leaves behind a husband who cheated on her with a co-worker. The pain is still very fresh. Ginny begins her journey of releasing that past-- creating new beginnings. She's the most passionate about "The Rolling Stone". Following the band to every state the are playing
in on their tour-- was Ginny's solution from the shock of her husband's affair.

Together... These two women carried feelings of inadequacy - both felt lonely for quality
friendships. --- yet both these women blossomed, grew up a little more... they had FUN, and I had fun with them! Ready to jam now!!!

What's not to like about Keith Richards and The Rolling Stones?

"I can't get no Satisfaction".......... I dare you not to sing! :)

Thank you to Spark Press Publishing, Netgalley... and the beautiful rock-and-roll author
herself ...,'Andee Reilly'....for the joy this was! ( an true inspiration to me - to kick ass and
start moving). The HOT PINK cast on my leg - that I've had on for two months comes off in 2 days). This book was a perfect send off!!!

I’d have to start off this review of Satisfaction by saying that you will find yourself constantly humming different Stones tunes as you read. Or perhaps that is just me – but that was my experience. Perhaps a fortuitous one.

Ginny is married, but when she discovers her husband’s infidelity, packs it all in and went off to follow the Rolling Stones on tour throughout the US, while she decides what to do with her hurt and anger. Traveling solo on an adventure to find some joy in your life is an admirable choice, and a brave one. Along the way, she meets Bree, single mother of a 15 year old daughter who has plans to become a lawyer. Bree’s spontaneous, a touch eccentric and free-spirited, and while Ginny is experiencing her first ‘spontaneous’ act in ages, the two find comfort and companionship.

The descriptions, particularly of the shows they see (three) are well done and bring readers into the venue, but the rest of the story felt to me like a battle between a fact session about the Rolling Stones and the story of two rather disillusioned grumpy middle aged women. Particularly strange as Ginny is described as being just 22, she’s far more mature (tottering on boring and missish) where Bree, obviously the elder has the maturity level of a 12 year old on sugar pops. Neither character lived up to the potential of their introduction: even their pronouncements on the evils of all men seemed weak, as did their true ‘fandom’. It just didn’t hit those notes of solid friendship that grows, their two common points, the Stones and their anger with men, weren’t enough to hold away the disbelief in their relationship.

Not quite the story for me, although it read quickly and wasn’t particularly stressful. The concert scenes were the highlight of the book for me, not surprisingly neither character featured heavily in those.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility

As a music fan I was very excited to read this story of a road trip following the Rolling Stones. I loved how this was all about Ginny and Bree two polar opposites who meet through fate and without knowing it help each other find themselves and figure out who they are and what is truly important.

Ginny is young and left her husband after finding out he cheated on her with one of her coworkers. On impulse she buys tickets to her favorite group the Rolling Stones and decides she is going to following them to several of their shows to find herself and take the time to decide what she wants to do next. This is totally out of character for Ginny who isn’t impulsive at all she is a planner and likes to know what will happen next.

Bree is wild child, a women who doesn’t like commitment and who likes to go with the flow. She left her child and husband behind when she fell in love with someone else and is now paying the price of having no relationship with her daughter. She meets Ginny one day at a diner she works at and decides this is her ticket; Ginny is her way out to her next adventure.

What I loved most was the relationship between Ginny and Bree. I love how they balance each other out they are their ying to the others yang. Ginny brings out Bree’s maternal side while Bree brings out Ginny’s carefree youthful side, with is funny since Ginny is the younger of the two. While I love nothing better than a road trip side I did feel like this one went on a little longer than I wanted. I thought at times Bree was really selfish and I felt sorry for her daughter who just wanted a mother. However the pros outweigh the cons and I enjoyed it. The bonus for me was discovering some Stones songs I didn’t know. I would’ve love a list of “road trip” songs but in the end this read is a real gem showing us that it’s never too late to find yourself and to make your dreams come true.

I received this book through Netgalley for an honest review.

I really wanted to like this book!
A story about Ginny making a roadtrip and following around her favourite band? What's not to like about it!
But it failed to capture me.

When Ginny finds out her husband has been cheating on her, she takes off on a crazy roadtrip to follow around her favourite band, The Rolling Stones. During her trip she meets Bree who is everything Ginny believes she isn't: Wild and Spontaneous. They continue their trip together and start their own little adventure.

Only their adventure isn't really and adventure and their friendship seemed a bit weird. I couldn't relate to either character - this coming from a person who has followed around her own favourite band on several occasions- and the dynamic between the two woman was a little out of balance.
Andee Reilly is a big Rolling Stones fan herself, which you can tell by the passionate way she writes about them in this story. However (and I say this with the utmost respect), sometimes it felt more like I was reading a Stones biography rather than a fiction novel.

The pace of the book was at times very slow and every time it seemed to reach some kind of peak, it dropped back down. I really did want to like this book but sadly enough it didn't work for me.
Having said that, I am sure this book will find its way to some other people who will absolutely adore this book and who will be able to relate to the characters in a way that I failed to.

Man, I really wanted to love this one. Throwing everything out the window and following your favorite band around the country? That's right up my alley. The book, however, was not.

It never really took off. Ginny is supposed to be a young woman who leaves her husband but she's written as more of a middle-aged housewife who hasn't been single in a couple decades. Bree, the older free spirit Ginny meets along the way, is written like a seventeen year old with wild oats to sow. The friendship didn't really work for me, nor did the obsession with the band. I fully understand being obsessed with a band, one that soothes you when you need soothing, inspires you when need inspiration, and knocks you off your feet when you need it. It wasn't for lack of trying, the author gave a valiant effort. It just didn't connect for me. I'm sure this book will find the right reader and that reader will fall in love with it as they identify with Ginny or Bree and their journey.

So this was a cute summer read. Enjoyable to float around in the pool and read about two women running away from their responsibilities and following the Rolling Stones on tour.

Ginny is the oldest 22 year old I've ever heard of. She acts like she has been living the old married life for a hundred years. Her obsession with the Rolling Stones bordered on weird. I'm all about being a fan (hello, Bono!), but trying to tie every event of her life into lyrics or Stones trivia seemed more than a bit odd.

Bree is just one of those women who have never wanted to be married or have kids. One thing that I didn't like was how the book tried to justify Bree's lack of a relationship with her daughter be her daughter's fault. Her daughter was probably a cold, uptight girl because her mother walked out on her and then never felt obligated to have any regular contact.

So I really didn't like either of the main characters, but I still liked the book. It was a quick, fun book.

Two polar opposite characters come together in an interesting way to create this story. A 22 year old ole soul Ginny Martin recently left her husband of 4 years as she found out he was cheating on her. On the opposite side a young soul wanderer Bree couldn't find comfort in long term relationships or as a mother to her child. Together they end up on a road trip following the Rolling Stones band and end up influencing each other.

I am usually a fan of road trips, but this one didn't quite feel as road trippie as I wanted it too. I felt like there wasn't as much travel as I like.

I did love the characters. I liked that the older age person acted younger and the younger age person acted older. It was fun to see them influence each other and show each other the perks of living the other life style.

I wouldn't rule out this author and would definitely try her next one, but for some reason this one didn't do it for me.

Loved the mashup of road trip, music and independent women.

Also loved the bonding between the two main characters, Ginny and Bree, who were able to form a friendship despite there differences in age and experiences.

This story had a Thelma and Louise (film) vibe that kept a fun pace to the end.

Lessons learned from the past and in the present created wonderful character development for both characters. Warm and fuzzy feelings gained for the two made me root for their success.

Got me listening to tracks and watching old song videos from The Rolling Stones. And now, I want to see their documentary.

This was another book whose synopsis promised more than the story was able to deliver, at least for me. The descriptions of the Rolling Stones concerts the characters attended were great, but unfortunately they were the best part of the book. The friendship that was described just didn't seem as well-developed as some other fictional friends--all they seem to have in common is their love of the Stones and their anger at men. Hearing about those two subjects gets old after a while.

The book was a fairly fast read, which was a relief. I'm sure there is an audience for this novel, but I just don't happen to be part of it.
