Bob has been with the MC his entire adult life. He was an only child that spent a lot of his time alone. His parents didn’t plan on kids and he was not a happy surprise. Growing up he heard all about it whenever his parents were not pleased with him. As an adult he finds a family in the MC. His Officers teach him about loyalty, commitment and honor. The bond he has with his family runs deep. Their women and kids are his responsibility as much as theirs. His job as Head of Family Security reinforces that commitment daily. Anything and everything he learned was taught to him by his family, whether it was how to treat your woman or how to shoot while riding at one hundred miles an hour. He will do everything he can to keep his family safe, as a trusted soldier in High Security he does.

Amanda is a twin that was never appreciated by her parents. She was a disappointment right from the start. Her sister being book smart, charismatic and outgoing was praised and favored by both her mother and father. Amelia always gave Amanda credit and praise when their parents belittled or outright shunned Amanda. Amelia is Amanda’s greatest supporter in her endeavor to be an artist. Her dream of opening a tattoo parlor takes hard work and dedication. Even after she achieved her dream her parents couldn’t find it in themselves to give her praise. When the President of the MC invites her to open her shop within the MC’s guarded territory Amanda gains confidence and flourishes as the artist she dreamed of being. She lives her life without the support of her family but finds that support through the women of the MC.

This is the story of Bob and Amanda.

L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world's wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference.
The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly.
That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, Team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal.
L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers.
With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud.
Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels. Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet

Well this one was good I loved Bob and Amanda was okay, I don't find any of these chicks as perfect as these guys seem to think but she was one of the better ones of the bunch..even after that craptastic introduction to her at the very beginning...

For the most part I have enjoyed this series and the initial concept was great but somewhere along the way it just went too far into cray cray kiddie land for me since the first book. Seriously all they need is a kid that can walk on water or one that can sprout wings and fly to have about 50 supernatural kids in this "MC". Then of course there are still the remnants of Danny and miss perfection *gag* Kate treating Ben like shit to have to continually read after I waded through that disaster of a "romance" in their book. Needless to say while I loved Bob and Amanda's story it could have been so much more without so much other over the top mess added in. I can't say I didn't try, although the writing is greatly improved the plots have gone off the rails for me as the books progressed. This series does have characters that you grow to love and that is the reason I didn't give up.

Now that's more like it!!!! This story was awesome. It was written like a novel which has been my biggest complaint about most of the others. Loved both Bob and Mandy. As Mandy calls him he is a "badass biker man" and of all the ole' ladies I've enjoyed Mandy's character the most. She doesn't take any shit and she's funny to boot. When are people going to stop trying to take out this MC - haven't they figured out yet that they'll lose???? We lost some people in this one and that's always sad. I've always loved Danny but he was especially badass and funny also in this one.

After a one night stand, Bob decides he wants to get to know Amanda, the club’s tattoo artist a lot better. Love looms quickly, but there is also trouble in store, and Bob learns to live with his new normal after an accident. These two lovers have got it made as long as they are together. Tailley was written with heart and humor and is a must-read!

Re-read the entire MC and Protectors series between June and August. I love her storytelling and characters but sometimes the prose (and particularly the conversations) is a little dense and hard to get through. But I'm back again because the guys, the gals, the kids are all SO GREAT! If you bought this a while ago and are just reading it, download a new copy from Amazon because I think a lot of them have been updated on the editing front.

I like Bob a lot! He's one of the MC guys that was interesting and not too crazy. He and Amanda were a good couple, and I liked reading about their relationship, even with it being buried somewhat in the happenings of the MC and all the outsiders trying to take the MC down. This was a fun read also at times, and that matched well with the erotic aspect of the story.

I do get a bit confused during the military-like actions that happen when the MC goes to "war" - some names are so close to each other, and when initials are used, it can get a little confusing about who is who when they are doing what. But I do like how the MC's battles are planned out and described in the military-like fashion since most of the MC guys were in the military at some point.

I enjoy this series and will continue reading it. It's different, and that's the key for me. This one is a 3.5, and I always round up.

Happy reading!

Phew... I have in about 2 or 3 weeks, read all of the books from the MC & Fosters ... haven't started the Baxter's but give me time, I'll get there.

I happened across these books by chance. I hummed & harrrred over whether to buy them. Tell you what, sooo glad I did.

The story's made me laugh, cry and wanna just smack people upside the head.. they were that frustrating.. but all in all.. I fell in love with the books.
so much so.. I want more...
Giveme :)

Waiting with baited breathe for more which I'm sure are to come.

Now... off to the Baxter's.

Merged review:

Great Story

Love this series. Amanda has lived in the yard for a few years, doing ink for the MCs. Bob works high security under Rich and is head of family security. Amanda has had a crush on Bob for years, but he has a rep as a love and leave player. A painful anniversary, a few to many shots and she takes both and Chet and Rob on. An item to cross off her bucket list. Both can't get each other off their minds. A intervention by Tess and Rich get them together.
It's never smooth sailing for long for the MCs for long. Dirty politics has new and old enemies bring war to the yard, as well as to the Baxter's, while they remove the enemy threat it is not without the loss of a few brothers. A fast past and steamy story. Looking forward to the next book.

Keepers!

L. Ann Marie has written 2 series of connected books. I have read both series now, all nine books. Each and every book is a complete and totally awesome read! She can flat out write! Characters, both main and support cast are people you come to know and love. These books are so good that if her name is on the book, they I'll be buying it, no matter the subject matter! I highly recommend anything she's written, just read them in order for maximum enjoyment!

mostly clean mc protects women and children by any means necessary. sometimes they fall in love and chaos follows. it's messy work keeping their community free from drugs, gangs, 1%ers....Re-read for the third time in april, 2017. It's that good. Reread, September 2018 yet again because I love these characters.visiting old friends in august, 2020. Comforting during covid pandemic. Reread again on a sunny Sunday in June. 2023 with enjoyment.

I have fallen in love with this series and all of the characters. Yea, it's a bit out there with the kids and abilities of various people but it's fiction people! Reading is a form of escapism for me and let me tell you, I love getting lost in this series.

The love, bond and dedication this MC family has for each other is beautiful.

Good combination of the things that make an MC interesting

Much better story without so much psychic stuff. Good mixture of romance, danger, brotherhood, family, and humor. On to the next book!

Bob - head of Family Security for the MC

Chet - an MC member

Amanda - tatoo artist, her parents show her no support for her dreams but Amelia does

Amelia - Amanda's late twin

Ben James - MC president

Danny LaPonte - member of the MC whose job is Building Superintendent (his college degree is in architecture)

Rich LaPonte - Danny's oldest son, MC member and friend of Bob's

CJ Blackhawk - wife of Cloud Blackhawk a Mohegan Indian and member of the MC

Tess - married to Rich LaPonte, she is a seer and reads minds of her friends

Anita - single friend of Amanda, Tess, CJ and Penny
Penny - friend of Amanda, Tess, CJ and Anita

Nancy - wife of an MC member who owns an edgy clothing shop in the yard

Horse - another MC member

----------
I would strongly suggest read books 1 - 5 in this series. There are a multitude of characters in the series with more being added in each book.

At the beginning we learn that Amanda is a tattoo artist who is invited by Ben to open a shop in the MC's guarded territory. The more she works in her shop and with the people of the MC they become the family support she has needed, the women of the club are her main support.

Bob meets Amanda in her Tattoo shop when he and Chet are sharing her. Bob knows there is something going on between himself and her but with Chet there, he doesn't find out what.

After Bob and Chet leave we find out that today was the day of Amelia's death. Amanda has made a Bucket List of things Amelia never got to do; one is a three-way. Tonight, Amanda crosses that off the list. But she isn't thrilled Bob was in on it. She has had a crush on him since she moved into the yard and he had helped her.

Next we find Bob and Danny on a ride. During the wars, Bob is always paired with Danny and rides on his right side due to Danny's loss of that eye. Tonight, they are running down a lead from one of the Associates who had been in one of the club owned bars and heard the guy whose home they stop at questioning members about some of the MC members kids (who the whole club protect with their lives.)

In time, Tess reads Amanda's crush on Bob and Rich fills Bob in on how he knows Bob checks her out. Tess, Amanda and their friends have a "girls night" at one of the club owned bars where Bob is working. Amanda knows what's up and goes to Nancy's store to get something for the night. (Tess had told Nancy what's up and she already has outfits picked for Amanda). Amanda picks out a black dress with basically no back, but fully covered front.

Bob ends up going over to the girls table, squeezing Amanda's shoulder and telling her he needs to talk to her and would she like to go out with him at 9:00 that evening. She says yes. They end up in a bar, in another town, and, basically, he apologizes to her for how they met and what he thought of her then but now knows that was so not her. They agree to star from scratch right then and there.

Love see characters pulled together and being their other half.

I enjoy every character in this series and book. They roll into each story with support and when needed advice. The men and women in this book are stronger than they think they are and at some point they discover this with the help of their loved or their friends. I Love how they accept each other and always support each other. Love HobSon and Amanda meet and how their love grows. They face the problems of their families and their enemies together. Highly recommend. Now into book 7.

This book continues the on going saga that trails throughout the series. Bob and Amanda are the main couple in this storyline with everyone else a close second. The excitement and drama grow but these twos resilience shines through from the pasts that they overcome to the present tribulations. Sadly we lose some characters in this book, heartbreaking

I first started by reading MC: Knight and then realised that I wanted the whole story and that started with the Baxter's .. although the first books didn't have a lot of crossovers they did set the scene for what is to come in the other books as the stories move along so their importance to the series' as a whole cannot be overstated

I have just read the 22 books to date back to back in the order published on the author's website and decided to review them as a whole. I really don't think they stand well as stand alones as there are too many common threads, too much history and too much character crossover for that so it really is one (very) long story over a very long period of time with each series concentrating on a particular character group but including all of the others (except for the initial Baxter books which didn't have a lot of MC action but did set the scene for a lot of what is to come).

I loved every book although of course some more than others but i am giving an overall five star rating. My biggest issue was that sometimes (often) i found it difficult to be sure exactly who was talking and had to reread sections to try to work it out. I think that perhaps what the author is seeing in her head moves a bit too fast to translate well to the written word for some of us (something like the thoughts of some of her characters - you need to read the stories to understand my thought process here!!)

My other issue was keeping my head straight with the cast of thousands (and this is not an exaggeration) ... with each story building on to what has come before and what will come to be and with most characters continuing to play a place in each consecutive story I found myself constantly stopping to think - now who was that, whose child is that, whose partner is that???? but even amongst that confusion I loved the relationships and the strengths they provided.

The author has an amazing imagination and has brought to the table a fantastic story that i will continue to read and at some point will def read again. I have always loved and had an interest in native american philosophy and also in paranormal and psychic connections and love the way these are ingrained into the books as the stories unfold.

Although there were some things that caused me slight annoyances I cannot deny that as a whole this fits as one of the best series i have enjoyed. my thanks to the author for providing such a thoroughly engaging tale

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 out of 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆

L. Ann Marie has it all in this book, romance, suspense, action, comedy, a bit of paranormal thrown in and it’s a great read!

Bob and Amanda hook up after Amanda had to much to drink on the anniversary of her twin sister’s death, Amanda has liked Bob, but she generally keeps to herself, it’s easier that way for her. Bob and Chet helped Amanda cross off three way off her and Amelia’s bucket list, now he wants to get to know Amanda and needs to apologize for treating her like a whore the night they hooked up.

Bob and Amanda a perfect together, and as they are getting to know each other tragedy strikes taking one of Bob’s legs and putting Amanda in a coma for several days after a truck hit them on Bob’s bike, someone was trying to take out family security so they could get to the women and kids of the MC and Baxters.

Bob is stronger than anyone thought he was, he progressed with no complaint into braces then prosthetics with little to no problems, still riding his bike and driving his truck with HA hand peddles for the gas and brake, nothing is keeping Bob down.

Bob sees a whole in Amanda’s life and fills it with his love and by bringing Amelia back to her in pictures and thoughts, there is nothing Bob would not do to make Amanda happy.
