Brent Marks defends a fellow lawyer accused of murdering a police officer in the latest book of this best selling series.

William Thomas grew up with a distrust of contact with the police.  However, he worked hard and made a name for himself as a successful lawyer.  After leaving a ball game with friends, Thomas is assaulted by police and one of the officers is killed.  Accused of murder, William calls his colleague, Brent Marks, to defend him.  Can Brent convince the jury that the police have crossed the line between keeping order and police brutality?  Can he formulate a defense for a client who believes himself that he could be guilty? This contemporary novel confronts a contemporary reality of tolerance, prejudice and violence in American society.

Described by critics as "one of our strongest thriller writers on the scene," author Kenneth Eade, best known for his legal and political thrillers, practiced law for 30 years before publishing his first novel, "An Involuntary Spy." Eade, an up and coming author in the legal thriller and courtroom drama genre, has been described by critics as "One of our strongest thriller writers on the scene and the fact that he draws his stories from the contemporary philosophical landscape is very much to his credit." He is often compared to John Grisham, whom many regard as the master of the legal thriller.

Says Eade of the comparisons, "Readers compare me in style to John Grisham and, although there are some similarities, because John also likes to craft a story around real topics and we are both lawyers, all of my novels are rooted in reality, not fantasy. I use fictional characters and situations to express factual and conceptual issues. Some use the term 'faction' to describe this style, and it is present in all my fictional works."

Eade has written twenty novels, which are now in the process of being translated into ten languages. He is known to keep in touch with his readers, offering free books and discounts to all those who sign up at his web site, www.kennetheade.com.

Excellent book.

This story is in the headlines always, and we're hearing and seeing it in the news. Officers we assume to protect us should be color blind, but not only them we all should be. This sentence was at the first pages of this book and says it best.

I love thrillers and this one by Kenneth Eade is one of the best that I have read in a long time. The book is well-written and very thrilling. The characters were well developed and created to please the action loving audience. I actually feel that this book fits in well with the times that we live in. We have seen many news stories that cover cases that are in this book. William grew up not trusting police, something that we see in these types of communities. He grows up to be a successful lawyer, but one night he is assaulted by police and is charged for murder after a death of a cop. This book was action packed and I could relate to the plot.

FULL REVIEW FROM NY BOOKS EXAMINER

"In 'Unreasonable Force', Kenneth Eade manages to tackle some important topics for today's American society: tolerance, prejudice, violence, self-defense. Readers will immediately relate to the main characters and try to find answers to the intriguing questions their actions raise. Yes, 'Unreasonable Force', is a fast-paced, action-packed legal thriller, but it's also much more than that. It speaks directly to the readers, drawing their attention towards what's happening in reality, around them, each day of their life."-

Moving and too common

Kenneth Eade masterfully spins a fictional tale that could have come right off the nightly news or court tv. The eloquent wording and use of all sensory input gave me the ability to imagine what the characters saw, felt, smelled and heard. This is becoming more rare as man novelists today use a book to format a possible movie script. Not true here. This wrenching tale of one man's excessive use of force and the effect it has on our entire society is beautifully written.

Unreasonable Force

This was extraordinary! I love how it seems that I am in the story, as an interested observer, and the steps being taken before and during trial. The courtroom experience is scary and thrilling at the same time. This is one reason why I am such a fan of Mr. Eade's.

Good Book

Marks clearly has his work cut out for him with his defense of his client. I enjoyed the quick pace of this story and the way the legalese was explained even though I understood the meanings of terms. I look forward to reading more of his writings. I tried to sign up for the newsletter but the website wasn't there. Thank you for a good time.
