Ever since this relationship was first mentioned in the last Sammi Cee book I read, I’ve been curious about Lysandro and Benji. I wanted to know how they got to this point, what had happened between them, and, most importantly, where their story was going to take them.
Lysandro has always been one of those characters who catches my attention even when he isn’t at the center of the story. There’s something about him that makes you want to know more, so getting this little glimpse into his life was an absolute delight. And then there’s Benji, who completely melted my heart. He brought so much tenderness to their dynamic, and I couldn’t help but become attached to them almost immediately.
I also really enjoyed how refreshing this story felt. Sometimes, between longer and more emotionally demanding reads, you just need something short that you can sink into without overthinking it—and this was exactly that for me. It was sweet, entertaining, and left me wanting so much more.
If this is only the beginning of Lysandro and Benji’s story, I am absolutely ready for the next part. I need to know what happens with them!
And honestly, Sammi Cee continues to prove one of the things I love most about her writing: she knows how to create characters that make you care about them. Even in a shorter story, she manages to make them feel memorable and leave you wanting to spend more time with them.

Spin-off from The Dreamwalkers series
I haven't read all the Willowhope books but I have read the three books (so far) in The Dreamwalkers series and, in thatosebooks, my favourite character is Lysandro. You know how sometimes a side character just grabs your attention every time they appear on page? Even more than the MCs? That's Lysandro. Compelling and fascinating, completely overshadowing everyone else, and I love him just as much as Benji does.
Lysandro and Benji appeared in Ego’s Guide To Love Bites & Vampires and it was glaringly obvious that they had a story to tell. This is the first part in what appears to be a serialised story, recounting how they first met.
An exclusive club for vampires to feed, with their donors safe, secure and well-compensated. A mutually beneficial arrangement that works very well. Of course, there's always one or two... and that's what brings Benji and Lysandro together, finally. I was fascinated with the attraction both felt though never acted on, but their reasoning was completely sound and understandable in the circumstances.
The ending was unexpected and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This is the first episode in a serialized series called Vampire's Promise by Sammi Cee. It's a spin-off of the series The Dreamwalkers and it's where we first meet Lysandro, the librarian, and the mysterious Benji.
If you haven't read the current books in the Willowhope world I highly recommend both of the existing series; The Secrets of Willowhope and The Dreamwalkers. In fact I would recommend that you read the books in both before starting this new serialized series. Do you need to, probably not at this juncture but why would you want to miss out on these fantastic books and their loveable characters.

I must have really bad memory, because I didn't remember who Lysandro was. Even after reading this book, I only discovered I should have known him after seeing some reviews. I went searching in my library till I could remember where I have met him. I skimmed through the two Sky's Guide books and only when I saw Ego's one I realized who he was.
This gave more meaning to the book after I read it, but I must say that if you started with Sammi Cee books here this one has in fact a startling ending.
It's the only reason it has not 5 stars for me.

I enjoyed this first book in the new serialized series by the author. I realized late that this was a spin-off series, but I had no trouble reading this one without those books. I will admit that I am very curious about the other books and will be going back to check them out soon.
Since it's a serialize series, this first story was a quick, but fun read. Benji's longing for Lysandro from the start of the book was telling, but I was glad that they had some time before things became more complicated for them. Benji was so sweet and Lysander so caught up in keeping to himself, but they were so cute together. I have no idea what coming in the next installment, but I can't wait to read it. Hopefully, away from the other vampires, we'll get to see what Lysander is like when he can relax and be himself.

First in serial (Vampire’s Promise). Paranormal. Quick read. Dual POV.
Lysandro is an ancient vampire who becomes unusually attracted to the young man that has become a paid donor at a vampire bar. But there’s something about Benji and his interest that sparks something that Lysandro has never felt before.
This was a nice start and really good world build to a planned serialized set of stories. I appreciated that as time passes Benji finally approaches Lysandro and begins a friendship with the lonely vampire. Being an elder vampire Lysandro is especially interesting with special powers and a long history. I enjoyed all of their interactions and look forward to reading more as there are hints of darker plotlines on the horizon for Benji and Lysandro. 4.5 rounded up

Lysandro lives very much separate from everyone, only coming to fee once a month. Then Benji turns up and he can't quite stop himself from being drawn in. Benji doesn't even deny the crush he has on the old vamp but getting his attention is hard!
I really enjoyed how things are set up in this book, introducing us to several characters at The VV. It's not just a romance, though. There is danger ahead and someone who makes Benji extremely uncomfortable. I am very intrigued after reading that final chapter, too!

This gripping novella is the first in a series about the vampire Lysandro and his human Benji, who has had a crush on the vampire for years. Benji is down and out, needing a job. He starts work giving blood to vampires at a club, where he is well paid and taken care of. When Lysandro unexpectedly agrees to feed from Benji, their relationship takes a surprising and sweet turn. They think of each other all the time, and the vampire cannot understand why he is so protective of the human. I've really been looking forward to Lysandro's story. I found the characters intriguing and the last chapter is a cliffhanger that I can't wait to follow into the next installment.

Hear begins the story of Benji and Lysnadro. Benji is entered into the world of vampires by Eric, his former foster brother, to help get Benji out of bad luck. Benji unlike other donors isnt entrhalled by all vampires just the mysterious Lysandro. When others see their attachment forming its time for both to take the next step or have the possibility of losing each other forever.
This was a quicke read but so dang enthralling! I need the next installment now! Hearing their will be ten books in all, i cannot wait to see how not only this couple but the entire world continues to develop. What a great way to kick off a new world from a cherished author of mine.

Threads of Crimson Vampire's Promise book I. This is the first book in the Vampire's Promise series. This was a short quick read that I couldn't put down. This is the story of Benji a human and Lysandro a vampire. The blurb gives you a great idea of what to expect in the story. What it doesn't give you is all the emotions that make the characters come to life. I loved the characters and world building that went into this book. I wanted to hug Benji and Lysandro at different times in the book. I loved watching these two work through their issues to build a relationship. I loved that the story ends with a HFN. I can't wait for the next book in the series to see if they stay that way. I would definitely recommend this book.

When I signed up for the advanced reader copy, all I saw was, 'Sammi Cee' and 'Willowthorpe'. I did not realize it was a serial. Seventy six pages passed in a blink of an eye. I know part two is coming soon, can't be soon enough.
This little teaser opens up soooo many questions and possibilities. I've immediately fallen for Benji. And yes, we all know where you'll take him and Lysander, Sammi Cee. Rafe, Sadie.... and apparently, Cassius. What absolutely delightful secondaries! And it's always wonderful to see Chance, Jetty and all the rest.

Lysandro is an old vampire who stays to himself and doesn’t form relationships so that no one would get hurt because of him. He tries to keep his distance from Benji but there is something different about him that calls to him and the more he’s around him the more realizes he won’t be able to stay away. Benji didn’t know what he was walking into when he followed his brother into a night club but soon discovered he liked going but then the one person he didn’t think would ever speak to him protected him and then continued to protect him. This is the start of Lysandro and Benjis love story, Sammi did an amazing job. ❤️

So disappointing- it ended before I was ready. Thankfully, the next installment is not too far away! The first of a new series, Threads of Crimson brings up to the spotlight one of Willowhope’s mysterious citizens, Lysandro. In it, we get to know our private librarian outside of Willowhope in his element. He meets Benji—adorable, name and all. Mutual obsession is my trope!
The book ends with a HFN for Lys and Benji and a sneak peek at the next set of characters. Having read Willowhope, I have high hopes for Vampire’s Promise!

Squeee!!! This is the story of how Benji and Lysandros meet! I’m so excited! Lysandros is such an ancient vampire and he is so good to Ego in Ego’s Guide to Love Bites and Vampires. I want to know more about him and the author is giving us just a taste. Originally Benji had no idea what he was getting into when he walked in that dark bar with his friend, but he has his eyes wide open when he offers to feed Lysandro. These two are honestly pretty adorable together, but don’t tell the ancient vampire. He has a reputation to uphold.

I am so excited to get a look into Benji and Lysandro’s relationship. Sammi Cee’s readers were introduced to Lysandro and Benji in her Dreamwalkers Series. You do not have to read those books to start this series. In fact, the characters are introduced in such a way I almost forgot they were the same people from the other series. Their lives in New York are so different than what we know from Willowhope. This is a short but gripping introduction to the story of how Benji and Lysandro met. It is a quick read and I cannot wait for the second part.

I'm new to the series so I really don't have a heads up on the characters prior...this isn't a bad thing because I'm coming in fresh...not lost at all...its refreshing to see a human who is not scared of the vampire but has a huge crush on one and is willing to do anything to be that vampire. I'm enjoying Benji and Lysandro romantic dance...since this was real short I can't wait to get more in depth on where their relationship is heading in book 2.

Benji and Lysandro story was intriguing as it shows us their beginning, how they met, the dance they performed around their desires, and the moment everything started to change.
It had danger and adrenaline, curbed desires, restrain, protectiveness and possessiveness, as well as a glimpse from the other side that could put things into perspective.

Lysandro throughout the The Dreamwalkers' series has been a man of mystery. All we have known was the was a vampire, it was not till Ego's book that we found about Benji. So who is this couple.
This is the first part of their story and even whilst reading I still do not know much about Lysandro.

A fun, quick serial!
Lysandro and Benji were an interesting pair in Ego's Guide and I was hoping we'd get more from them. I like the idea of a serial; it provides a great intervening treat that shows how their relationship grows over time. It's not a particular long or detailed read (around 80 pages I think) but it's great for a quick treat (a great lunch or bed time read!) and lets you visit with characters you know you enjoy.

This story falls under the Willowhope umbrella in our favourite supernatural town! Here we get to know Lysandro and Benji, who we were briefly introduced to in Ego’s book. This book gives us their origin story, where they first met while leaving room for more as we get to know them. It is a fun read that pulls you back into this world while staying on that side street of their meeting. I can’t wait until the next instalment in this series!

What a great start to this serial. It set up the foundation for all the stories coming next. We meet Benji our ray of sunshine even after a traumatic child hood and Lysandro our old as dirt, grumpy vampire. There is an instant attraction that takes a while to combust. It was a quick read and the next part is coming out soon so I am very excited. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!

And it’s there that he meets the aloof, closed-off old vampire who exudes power and command. And terrifies folks a little!
But you can’t fight the draw to one another!! Things are just starting to get interesting with these two!

I absolutely loved this story. This is a spinoff from the Dreamwalkers and the Willowthorpe series in that this is Lysandro and Benji’s story. I had wondered about this couple when I first saw them and I am so happy to get their story. This was a fantastic read and I am waiting eagerly for the next part.

Love the beginning of Lysandro and Benji’s story. I can’t wait to see more of this world, it’s finished quickly but I believe Sammi plans to release the next addition quickly. Once all together, I’ve no doubt this will be just the perfect addition to the willowhope world

Very enjoyable beginning to this serial series. I’m intrigued enough to look forward to the next installment. I want more Lysandro and Benji, but I also want more info about Vesper and Cassius. Hmm. 🤔

A sweet and entertaining story. Lysandro, an ancient vampire, meets Benji, a human at the Velvet Vein where Benji is introduced to the vampire world. Their fascination for each other grows beautifully. Loved the characters. Can't wait to read more.

Wow! Although this is a shorter read, it really packs a punch. Benji and Lysandro have a happy for now and more to come. This is a fantastic vampire inspired storyline and I can’t wait for more!

I was not expecting the vv! This was a quick but amazing read! I sometimes wish I had half the powers this man has! Outstanding read and can’t wait for the next book! Well written.
