Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy (born November 13, 1949 in Vijayawada) is a popular Telugu writer. He is known for thrilling plots, nearer to natural real life. Malladi Dakshinamurty (father), Malladi Saradamba (mother)are his parents. He is the seventh child to his parents amongst nine!. He graduated from Andhra University in 1969 in commerce faculty. He worked in different private organizations up to 1972. After that he joined as an auditor in Government audit office in Hyderabad. He resigned from his job in 1986 to become a full-time writer. He has published over 150 novels through Lipi publications in the past 32 years.

movie is better than book.. probably because I saw movie many times...enjoyed reading the book...as usual, book has more details than movie and more gripping.. ending of the book is tragic.. the humor oriented narration will help in turning pages quickly.. through out, I imagined the film characters.. rarely we will come across reading such a pleasant novel.

చంటబ్బాయి నవల చాలా బాగుంది. ప్రతి ఒక్క పాత్రని బాగ రాశారు. మలుపులని కూడా బాగున్నాయి. ఒక విధంగా చెప్పాలంటే చిరంజవి గారి సినిమా అడప్ట్టేషన్ కూడా బాగుంది.

Interesting and humorous with a surprising ending

My first read of Malladi, and it is just as expected. Funny and refreshing characterization, ample twists in the story, feels like watching a movie. Ending turned out to be totally unexpected. Very different from the movie adaptation.
