Olivia and Gracie haven’t talked in over a month. Olivia is more confused than ever. She knows what her feelings are towards Gracie and she is confident in Gracie’s feelings for her, but the two face various obstacles in their developing relationship. Can they overcome everything and be together? Or will they fall apart?
“Mental Training (Yes Coach #2)” is the sequel to “Yes Coach”, and picks up a month after Olivia learned that Max moved back in with Gracie.
Gracie finally contacts Olivia, and reveals that “I’ve never been with a woman before, but that kiss... I don’t know how to explain it besides that it has made me want you. I want to be with you.” So yeah, there’s that realism thing going on…hahaha. Gracie’s boyfriend is sometimes named Max, as in the first book, but he’s also named Derek at one point. Uh oh….another author who has a f/f book repurposed from a m/m or m/f book and didn’t make all the name and pronoun changes? Yes, btw, this author has disappeared from the world.
Each of them is nervous about telling their families that they are each in a lesbian relationship, but this is a short story lesfic so I probably don’t need to say much more about how that all works out for them.
This is a slightly better book than “Yes Coach”, but not by much. While their decision to work things out between them was nice, it also felt very very unrealistic and I can’t say that Gracie strikes me as the most reliable life partner moving forward. 3.6* rounded up to 4* because I’m a sucker for HEA.
