Mystwick #4

A Symphony of Silence: The Mystwick School of Musicraft

Rate this book
Amelia Jones is back at Mystwick—the magical boarding school where students cast spells through music—after a time-bending adventure in Europe. But her life is far from back to normal, as she and her best friends Jai and Darby discover a disturbing change in their magic that could threaten their place at Mystwick. And that’s not the only shock awaiting Amelia. When she’s invited to spend spring break with her long-lost (and outrageously wealthy) paternal grandfather, she hopes this is her chance to learn more about her mysterious father's childhood and his villainous career. What she finds instead will forever change how she sees her world, her magic, and herself. A thrilling adventure about family, friendship, and finding your voice when the world tries to silence you.

Jessica Khoury wrote her first book at age 4, a fan fic sequel to Syd Hoff's Danny and the Dinosaur, which she scribbled on notebook paper, stapled together, and placed on the bookshelf of her preschool classroom. Since that day, she's dreamed of being an author.

When not writing, Jess enjoys spending time with family, playing video games, and oil and watercolor painting. She is also a professional mapmaker, and spends far too much time scribbling tiny trees and mountains for fictional worlds.

Jess currently lives in Greenville, South Carolina. She is the author of the Corpus trilogy, The Forbidden Wish, Last of Her Name, and The Mystwick School of Musicraft.

I started this series when I was much younger with my brother, and even though I’m much older now, the moment I heard this book was out I didn’t waste a second downloading it on audible! This book was everything I hoped for, and I’m so happy I finally got closure with this series. The writing was phenomenal (as always), and the plot twists just kept getting better and better. I was so happy to hear my favorite characters reach an amazing ending they deserve (Love Amelia and Jai <3). I would 1000% recommend to anyone who’s interested in reading it.

I loved this entire series! This was a wonderful ending to the story. The music throughout the series is so original and really makes the writing come alive. I will definitely be listening to the series again on my next road trip!

I love these stories. I love Amelia, Darcy and Joy together. I love that they made Amelia's dad the necromise and then you come to find out that he's actually the good guy and it's the grandpa. It's just every time I Listen to the books now they pull through at the very end. When all hope is lost it's starting to become the same scenario on repeat. Everything is wrong. Everything sucks and then they pull through it at the very very very last minute when you start to lose hope and I can't understand Amelia's Outlook on all these things wouldn't be happening if I wasn't around cuz in all honesty they want to be happy if she wasn't around and she's got absolutely amazing friends that stand there next to her and with her. But it's starting to feel too similar every single time.

Will be writing a full review soon, but here's my take.

I think this book was as good as the first one, with new takes on character relationships. Though I still hate Darby, (and this book made me hate her more) I think the rest of the characters were still pretty good. Especially Jai.
