*** I was provided a free ARC of this book, through Netgalley.com, in exchange for honest feedback.***

This was a sweet, heartfelt,feel-good romance. Although it was highly predictable and had a storyline similar to a million others, it managed to be entertaining. I read it straight through over the course of a few hours and enjoyed every minute.

After being dumped by her fiancé, one month before her wedding, Erin has been in a rut. She spent seven years with her loser ex, only to be told that she was boring weeks before they said their "I dos". Even knowing that she dodged a bullet doesn't fix the nagging feeling that there's something wrong with her. How could she not see this coming?

Determined to make herself more interesting and figure out men once and for all, she seeks out the help of a professional matchmaking service that her roommate works at. Little does she know, the company is really an escort service! After several dates with escorts, unbeknownst to her, the agency decides to try something new. They set her up with another client in their database, who is the perfect match.

Low and behold, Erin's perfect match ends up being her older brother's best friend, Colton. She spent years drooling over him as a teenager and never got past her attraction for him. No surprise here, but Colton had also lusted after the forbidden younger sister of his best friend for years.

Despite the mutual attraction, Colton is still fighting his feelings for Erin. Her family means the world to him and he was explicitly told to stay away from her. As much as he wants to claim Erin, he knows that he isn't good enough for her and he isn't willing to lose the love of the only family he's ever known.

Eventually, Erin wears him down and the two engage in a secret affair. Things are going good, until Erin starts pushing for them to come out about their relationship. Colton's old demons surface and the two almost lose each other.

All in all, it was a great story. I didn't mind the predictable story line. The characters were intriguing enough to hold my attention. The sex scenes were well-written and not gratuitous. The ending was satisfying and left me with that contented, warm-fuzzy feeling.

Wow...

This was HOT!

description

Courting Innocence is book 2 in the Courting series, but this can be read as a standalone.

Erin was always protected by her family. She's had a crush on her brother's best friend since high school, but he wasn't allowed to date her.

Eventually she got involved with someone else. After years of dating, they were planning their wedding... a wedding that kept getting pushed back. Erin's fiance told her she was boring and finally canceled the event.

This was a blessing in disguise. Now Erin can experience life.

She didn't want someone who catered to her, she wanted to be challenged. She wanted that burning sexual spark. She wanted a man.

She signed up with a high end "matching making" company to find her spark. In reality, they were actually in the escorting business. She goes on one wild ride!

The story was unique, fun, and steamy! I really enjoyed this read!!!

DNF at page 60. When the heroine said she was "tickled pink". The writing was giving PTA soccer mom whose favorite position is missionary in the dark once a month and wanted to read something "scandalizing". Also, naive, innocent and sweet is not the same thing as stupid, obnoxious and bratty. This chick is the latter, not the former.

Posted on What I'm Reading

I wanted to read Kimberly Dean's Courting Innocence, because had elements that screamed read me. I mean you have Erin who believes the Luxxor is a matchmaking service instead of an escort service. I mean that's kind funny. Then you have the forbidden attraction with Colton who happens to be the Erin's brother's best friend. Can't go against the bro-code. See that's the making of a fun story. However, I didn't fall in love with Courting Innocence. There are some good elements to the story, but there were some parts that had me go "What!?"

I guess I should get the thing that bother me the most off my chest, which was her best friend working at the Luxxor and not being up front about it. Yes, I understand that she had to keep it on the download, but Erin was her best friend stuff like that goes to grave. No repeats stuff like that. On the same token, Erin would probably still be waiting to make a move on Colton. I still don't have to like that part. The other thing that kind of bother me was Erin and Colton's relationship. It felt kind of like a dirty little secret. Okay, I get it, it was about honoring the promise Colton made when he was younger, but take it like a man get punched in the face by the brother. Yes, I was thinking that. Those are my gripes about the book.

The things I liked about the story. Even though one of my gripes was Erin and Colton's relationship, I still liked the relationship. They were hot and heavy when they weren't focusing on being each others dirty little secret. Plus, they were adorable. I also liked Erin's friends Sienna and Jason. I liked them so much I want to go back and read their story. The other person that played a big part in the story was Nina who was Erin's sounding board. Even though she was owner of Luxxor, she provided reason and a good friendship for Erin. Especially, when she need advice when it came to her relationship between Colton. I believe Erin would have left everything as the status quo, because it was something she wanted for so long. Why rock the boat. Plus, the ending kind of left me believing there might something in the future between Nina and a certain detective. Let's hope so.

Overall, not a bad read. It was hot and sexy at times. Okay, majority of the time. However, I did have a couple of hang ups, but it's not going to stop me from checking out other books from this author. Plus, I want to see how Sienna and Jason develop, so I have to go back to Courting Trouble. Maybe I'll gain a better understanding on Sienna being silent on the whole escort thing. Till next time.

Courting Innocence,  Dean, Kimberly
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre:  Romance
I loved Kimberley’s Courting Trouble and was looking forward to this. Though I enjoyed it somehow it didn’t live up to Trouble. There the story was solid, the romance believable and the sex sensual. Here though – the characters are great, and I enjoyed meeting Jason and Sierra again, the sex was perfect but the romance, though believable, felt stilted in the things against it, the actual story plot. It was hard to believe that two adults would really think objections against them being together when they were teens were still in effect now they’re adults in their twenties. Somehow that just seemed weird, and so it spoiled the romance for me. When they were sneaking around instead of feeling sorry for them ( though I did laugh at times ) I was just thinking “grow up, stop acting like kids”. It just didn’t fit the image I had of them, especially Colton. Here we have an intelligent, very successful man – can we really believe he thinks her parents, who treat him as family, really still don’t want them to be together?
If you can suspend your disbelief over the objections its a fun, sexy read. Its well written and plotted, and I love the story setting, the Luxxor connections, and the closeness of Erin’s family. It’s not put me off reading more, Kimberly can clearly write an erotic scene, and that’s something not all writers can do, and book one was perfect for me, so I’m treating this as simply one of those reads where the story and I just don’t get along. If the objections part had been just one of several plots I could have rated higher, but it’s not, it’s a simple read, and that is the main plot so that means my rating is lower. .
Stars: three, a sexy story but the plot and I just don’t really gel.

Review to come.

Netgalley for an honest review.

Written fairly well and somewhat engaging.

Colton was best friends with Erin's brother and she's been infatuated with him since her teenage years. She felt he never really saw her as anything but his best friend's little sister so gave up her hopes of anything ever happening.

Fast forward years later as the story begins with Erin's break up with her fiance who let it be know she was boring. Erin gets it in her head she's going to an escort service (dating only) to broaden her horizon and have a little fun (an prove him wrong).

But after a few match ups and no real sparks, she's matched up with non other but Colton (you'll have to read the story to learn how that all transpired).

We are then drawn into the back and forth between theses two of, "does he/she like/love me." Colton is discouraging Erin from pursuing any more dates from the agency (her reputation) and we have Erin wanting to continue them dating.

This was an okay read. I really struggled with there relationship (back and forth) and their lack of open communication. Erin at times irritated me, felt she was somewhat immature. Colton was an okay hero.

I struggled to not skim at certain parts of the book.

I would rate this more of a 3.25 - 3.50.

Matchmaker, matchmaker
Main Characters: Erin and Colton
This was a decent read, Erin always had a crush on Colton. Colton always liked Erin but was warned off by Erin’s brother. Colton is loyal to a fault and a good portion of the story was “to tell or not to tell” This is where it feel slightly flat to me. On the other hand, I loved the characters, the premise and the investigation/Luxxor piece, just felt like it could have been more exciting or climatic. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you are looking for a sweet read with great characters.

Erin is a little feisty, "grabbing his tie, she pulled him to her. "I just put out. You owe me dinner, Colton King." Erin knows how to get the blood pumping in her man, "I am now." Erin smiled sweetly and rose on her toes to kiss Colton’s cheek. He was the only one who heard her add, "And I probably will later tonight, too." The scintillating words went straight to his crotch, and he held her in front of him to make sure nobody noticed." I enjoyed this book and I'm hoping Nina gets a book next.

Erin just got out of a relationship and now she is ready to move on. Tired of the pitying looks from her friends and family she has decided to use Luxxor Limited because she thinks it is a matchmaking company. What could go wrong right???

What's a girl to do when she meets the man that has haunted her dreams for years in the most unlikely of places? Read and find out!!!

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.

This is the third book I have read in this series and I loved it. Erin gave a different spin on things with this new book because she came into this not knowing what Luxxor Limited really was. Because of her being in the dark it brought a lot more humor into things.

Colton on the other hand knows exactly what is going on and has no problem letting the cat out of the bag. I loved Colton even more because of his respect for the "BRO CODE" aka don't mess with your best friends sister.

Overall this book is funny, romantic, super hot in the bedroom and in the end heartbreaking but then it goes back to being romantic..soo basically a win win. This book is selling for 3.99 on Kindle Amazon right now and that is a very great price. Great job Kimberly Dean I cant wait for the next book.

Erin is having issues moving on after breaking off her engagement. So when she finds her roommates card for the matchmaking service she works at she decides to give them a try. Unfortunately, what no one wants to tell her, roommate included, is that this matchmaker is really a very high class escort service catering to the D.C. elite. So when Erin finds that she isn't connecting with any of her dates, she goes back to the boss to ask for her perfect match. Unbeknownst to her, her perfect match is already a client of Luxxor.

This was a very sweet book about a forbidden love. Colton has been in love with Erin forever but could never act on it. Due to honoring her parent's wishes he has forced himself to stay away, but Erin is the one temptation that he can't resist. When Erin drops the ball and forces his to react he sweeps her off her feet literally and figuratively. I loved watching the back and forth between them as they explored having a relationship hidden from others.

I really enjoyed this book and after meeting the detective I really hope that Nina gets a book.

Kimberly Dean's Courting Innocence was a really enjoyable novel. I devoured it in around 3 hours. Colton King and Erin Foster have wanted each other since they were teenagers but because Colt was Erin's brother's best friend they never acted on their feelings so when they are matchmade by an escort service things come to a head and they give into their desire. I'm quite partial to romances that have the we-can't-be-together-because-you're-my-brother's-best-friend theme and this is one of the better ones that I've read.

I liked Erin she was sweet and innocent but with a fun side, the type of person you'd want as a friend while Colt was smart, sexy and just that little bit dominant. The pacing and the plot was good but I couldn't help feeling that there was a disparity between the characters in the car scene and those in the rest of the book. It kind of felt superfluous, like the author was adding kink for the sake of it. Other than that and the cover (which I have seen many times on Amazon on different books), I have no complaints. Many thanks to HarperCollins UK, Avon and Netgalley for the ARC.

This had a forbidden taste to it. The brother's best friend who always had feelings for the little sister. Well then you get the fact that they both used a escort service, except the sweet blonde didn't know it was an escort but a matchmaking service.

Then they really matched the two together, since they both described the other person. Then you have the whole car scene. (If anything read this book just for the car scene)

This ending and just the way the book went made my heart melt, I was squealing like a little girl and telling my mother about it since it was so exciting!

If you read this review Kimberly thank you so much for writing this amazing novel!

I really enjoyed this one as much as I did the first one in the series. I didnt like the investigation part of the story, I felt like it took away from Erin and Colton's story. Erin and Colton, wow! They really have a hot start and you can just tell from there that it is going to be good between them. I love that they have more than just a physical relationship, they have history and the ability to share with each other. 4 stars because of the way Nina/Detective/The Investigation takes away from the main Colt/Erin love story.

OK, so... I finally gave up on this one because it's weirdly episodic and jumpy (with strange time jumps between sex scenes, sometimes) and I was no longer confident that the story was going anywhere (by which I mean going anywhere I wanted to be taken as a reader...). If you're big on innocent lady characters being schooled by slightly overbearing alpha-ish heroes who inexplicably insist on keeping their relationship with the heroine on the down low (that insistence providing most of the conflict for the story), this one's for you, but you have to be OK with jump cut writing. I find that I'm not.

Courting Innocence
The Courting Series, Book 2
By: Kimberly Dean
Narrated by: Meg Sylvan

Kimberly Dean delivers another awesome “Courting” series novel and I loved everything about it, from her wonderful writing style to the characters and storylines she created, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I found this book as captivating and enthralling as the first one “Courting Trouble”, Sienna and Jason’s story. This book is Erin and Colton King’s story, Erin is Sienna’s friend and we meet her near the end of the book when her fiancé broke things off one month before the wedding. Colton and Sienna have been there for her and this book picks up about a month after the other one ended, on the date Erin was scheduled to be married. When Erin comes across one of Sienna’s business cards she is curious but Sienna does not want to tell her what Luxxor Limited is about but Jason thinks quick and tells her it is a matchmaking service. And wham, an idea pops in Erin’s head she will use the service and find out why her ex thought she was boring. Nina and Sienna protect her as much as they can but do find suitable dates for her, but none do it for her so she pushes for more and when they come in with a match Erin is surprised to see who it is, the boy she crushed on growing up, her brother’s best friend Colton King. I adored these two characters, the more I found out about them the more I liked, they both had kind hearts and looked out for others, Colton, came off rough and tough at first but underneath he was all heart, oh and lets not forget the hotness factor, it was off the charts and there is nothing boring about Erin at all. He crushed on her just as much but he respected her family’s wishes to stay away from his sister, a wish made when they were younger but one he still tried to respect. It was not easy for him to stay away or say no to her but he was torn and his guilt was getting the best of him. This is a great brothers best friend & younger sister romance, the story is beautifully plotted with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt and emotional moments, some hot loving and romance. Kimberly Dean, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to what comes next in you amazing series.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Meg Sylvan is a talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. She brings the characters to life, does a great job covering both the male and female roles, giving each their own distinct voices making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Her portrayal of each character is spot on, she grasps each characters persona and plays the role with perfection. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work as she captures the characters emotions and projects them into her performs. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

From the moment they truly noticed each other they have had sparks flying. Erin has done everything she has possibly can to get Colton to notice her. Oh, and he did notice her.

After her graduation, she wanted him still if not more even with still having her boyfriend around. But while wearing the ankle bracelet Colton bought her, she made walking to the water an, art. She would have gladly broken up with her boyfriend for a chance with Colt. Especially, since after college, he became her fiancé.

Making both her and Colton feel awful. Neither knew what to do by then he was to meshed with her family. Although, her engagement seemed to drag on forever with all the delays when finally, her ex-bit the bullet realizing they were not meant to be together after seven years. Telling her she was too boring. Changing Erin’s life for the better.

Actually, allowing her to enhance the traits she had but never was given credit by him or she never knew she had. Such as her beauty inside but out for sure. Never seeing how sexy she is even though she is petite. Her sense of humor, her compassion for others, something Colt has always admired about her.

So, when Erin gets paired up with Colt at Luxxor a matchmaking company --- not realizing it’s really an escort service. Our sweet Erin is scared to death. You see she all her life people have always seen her as someone that has needed to be protected or be sheltered. And she was afraid that he had told her parents. Keeping her boring and now Colt would find out and tell her parents that too.

That she was so bad she needed a matchmaker. It’s when they leave the office that things heat up. The words that come out of Colt’s mouth that set Erin’s blood boiling are when he orders her to stop using the service and going near there. That’s when her head starts to spin and things get a little out of hand shall we say.

This is a very sexually intense book but a fun-loving couple figuring out their feelings for one another in this love story. They just have issues making things work not with each other but obligations and promises that Colt made. Yet, could they be misunderstandings. Instead of finding out, he is willing to lose her.

Our girl Erin stands her ground and did what is best for her. Showing great growth and strength. Colt had to take the next step and when he saw she accepted him as just a part of their family still. No more and no less. He had to decide if he was willing to live with that, could he live with that?

I love all the characters. All the hidden undertones that are bantered around and things you think are being said that aren’t and the ones that don’t throw you off. Very, fun. I give this: 5 stars. Found this free on Amazon.

I enjoyed this one very much. After her fiance dumps her, Erin tries to pick up the pieces of her relationship. It was a sudden end to her and his explanation was that she was boring. That hit home for her. So, when she starts using Luxxor, she feels her luck might turn around. Only she thinks it's a matchmaking service and not an escort service. Going on a few dates, she finds that they are nice and dote on her, but they don't get her fire going. She tells them her dates aren't going well and she wants a change.

They set her up with none other than her childhood crush, Colt. But when he sees her walk through the door, he's anything but happy to see her. Horrified that she'd result in such measures, he takes the situation into his own sexy hands. After the mistake of giving into needs long buried, he avoids her and tells her to stay away.

Erin wants Colt and she does what she can to get him. When they give in and start an affair, he lets guilt take over him. He promised her family he'd never touch her. Now that he's falling for her, he's conflicted and lets it get between them.

I have to say that this was steamy, the characters were good, the story was similar but still managed to stand out. I think the family connections, the chemistry, and the hilarity of it all was a good mixture of fun.

First of all, it really creeps me out when it's a third-person book and the main character has my first name. So that kept taking me out of the story. Which isn't the author's fault, of course!

Erin's fiance just broke up with her, after telling her she was boring. Determined to prove this isn't true, Erin signs up with what she thinks is a matchmaker, but is actually an escort service. She has a series of fun dates (fortunately, there's a no-sex clause in her contract with the "matchmaker", so there's no confusion there). But then they set her up with another client, who turns out to be her childhood crush.

Colton can't believe his bad luck when he gets set up with Erin, his best friend's little sister, the one girl he was warned away from as a teenager. His friend Dustin's family practically adopted him when he was a troubled kid, and he promised Erin's father he would never come near her. But he can't deny their chemistry now, even though he should just stay away from her or risk losing his only family.

This had its moments, but I found Erin almost unbelievably naive and willing to believe anything. It concerned me for her ability to function in the world without a boyfriend to navigate things for her.

This book is a series of steamy sex scenes wrapped in a lousy plot. The promise to leave the girl alone was made when they were kids. Now they're both adults and he's a successful lawyer. If you're really worried about the promise, sit down and discuss it. But for crying out loud, stop sneaking around like you're cheating on someone. Or she could have gone to her parents and told them that she wanted him released from the promise because of their relationship. I spent a long time waiting for someone to do one of those two things, but no. Not until the hospital scene at the end. I did enjoy the story because the characters were good and their interactions were interesting and amusing, so I may even read more in the series, especially Nina and Josh's story. That looks to be interesting. Recommended in spite of the low rating.

Unrequited love

Erin has to patch up her life. Her wedding has been cancelled. Her living arrangements changed. Her career non existent. And now no groom. She needs to make her life different and fast. She needs to find out who she is and right away... She needs that little black business card Sienna dropped.

Colton never expected to meet his match right there, and especially not the women he's always held a candle to.

This story brings together two people that never realized not only was their attraction mutual but their teenage interests were returned. It's the story of discovering maybe that love wasn't as unrequited as one thought...

I enjoyed this story, a first of the author for me. Page turning, passionate, hot chemistry, and sweetness all rolled into one.

This is the second book in the Courting Series. This is a series of interconnected stories. I love this Series! Erin and Colton’s second chance to love is beautifully written. Their chemistry is hot! Impossible to put it down. Erin is lovely, and determined. Colton is handsome, caring, and protective. I loved to see again the characters from the first book (Sienna, Jason, Nina, and Josh, the sexy detective). Dustin, Erin's brother, is very protective. Meg Sylvan did a fantastic job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to Courting Danger, Rielle and Darian's story, the next book in the series. This Series is addictive. I highly recommend it. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Erin has loved Colton from a very young age. Their attraction for each other had to be hidden neither knew how deep their feelings for each other went. Colton had been warned off from touching Erin when they were both teenagers. Her brother and father watched him around Erin who did her best to push and taunt him with her body. She later joins a matchmaking service (or so she thinks) to match her with men that can teach her things so that she's "not so boring" well she eventually ends up on a date with her all time love Colton who gives her a stern talking to and a hot spanking in the back of his town car. This book has a lovely ending but I won't tell you but is well worth the read. Relax and enjoy this steamy trip with Erin and Colton. Enjoy!!!!

Pretty dang good

It's an erotic romance with equal measures given to each. It worked really well with a pre-established connection. I loved her family's reaction. The break up was paced well so, that the audience gets that it isn't a fling on their part. I always hate when people go from meeting to forever in two weeks. Love takes time and knowledge to flourish. You need to be best friends because without the liking and secret sharing you're only lovers and that gets old.

A thoroughly enjoyable love story.

Erin seems like the girl next door, if the girl next door is wealthy beyond imagining, stunningly beautiful and sweet as sunshine. Colton is the perfect best friend of Erin's older brother, Dustin. Courting Innocence is a beautiful love story with just the barest hint of naughty. Read and enjoy!
