This book really lacked romance. The main couple didn't even get together until 88% Even then they only had sex and didn't become a couple til almost the very end. They didn't spend much time together and I didn't feel anything between them at all. No connection, no passion, no relationship build up. It just fell flat. My least liked of the whole series.

This whole series is worth reading! In this book you learn about Axel the new club president. He's a nice
alpha male which is always a good thing for me. He will do anything to protect the ones he loves. He has a lot on his shoulders and learns that he has help if he will just go for it. I can't wait for the next books in titis series. I got book 5 and 6 in the same day and read them both in one seating. I couldn't put them down!

Axel and Charlie's love story was my least favorite so far of the series, and it is probably because I really didn't know Axel very well like I know many of the other MC characters at this point. Axel is related to many of the main characters in previous books (he's Ryker's brother, Eddie's son, Shep's cousin), but he hasn't stood out at all for me in previous books even though he was elected as the MC President in book #4.

Axel and Charlie's story probably also was negatively influenced by me reading it within the same week as Shep and Pretty Boy's story (book #5) - I *loved* their love story, and Axel and Charlie just couldn't compare even though Axel is now the pres and Charlie was quite the character as a funny and quirky thief.

It could also be that really sexy scenes didn't start until about 70% into the book with full involvement not until in the 80 percentile. I read sexy romances for the romance *and* the smexiness, and I wish there was more in this book.

I will probably make my way through this entire series again at some point and maybe will enjoy this one more with a second reading. For now, Cynthia Rayne has given me some great reads in this series, and I will continue on with the new ones that come out.

Thanks for reading!

Not my fav. When is Beauregard going to get his comeuppance?
It seems like he wins with every turn.

Ok read not great but good.

I enjoyed this book in the series more than many of the previous ones. A bit of that is because an editor/proofreader was apparently hired, so the typos were way down, but not absent. (I think Ms. Rayne needs to find someone else.)

This basically ended in a cliffhanger, so I'm moving on to the next book, which doesn't look especially good at all to me. The h that's described in that one is exactly the type of h I hate reading about... I'm just not a fan of 'kick-ass heroines'.

I didn't care that there's almost no sex in this book, and it's near the end. Not like I really need to read more sex scenes after all the books I have read, so I didn't find that to be a problem.

Sometimes a storyline can be drawn out too long, and that's apparently happening in this series. A new dramatic element was introduced in this book, so there may be more to that coming up. What does bother me is that this is the wimpiest MC I've read about lately.

I just wasn’t really feeling this one. I liked Axel but he didn’t really blow me away for some reason although I really loved the fact he wasn’t a manwhore. I really loved that about him and that he was all about relationships, that was a really nice change. Charlie on the other hand, I just didn’t like very much. It could have to do with her being a liar and thief but the way she was pretty much throwing herself at Axel and constantly propositioning him after only knowing him for hours just didn’t work for me. I don’t know maybe it was those things combined that just didn’t work for me because her lying and stealing just weren’t things that would ever endear me to a character. I didn’t think it would taint my views of her that badly but at 30% I wasn’t digging Charlie at all.
I don’t see how they were going to trust her to do the whole stint with Beauregard in the first place, since I would find it hard to trust a lying thief. But whatever this MC has made some really dumb moves before so this was no surprise.

Charlie did get a little better but unfortunately about the time I was thinking she might not be too bad that asinine scene in the garage with Lexi and Dani played out. Lexi’s immaturity almost ruined the last book for me. I just have no use for these high school games that keep coming up with Lexi and Dani, it’s not amusing at this point well it really wasn’t that amusing to begin with now it is just tiring and irritating. Also I really didn’t need to know about Ryker and Dani at this point in the series, ewww. I’ll say it again that I really hope Voo doesn’t end up with Lexi, I was actually kind of hoping to see him with someone like Etta.

The fact that these guys keep getting deeper with the whole Beauregard thing is pretty annoying because it’s really making them look like a bunch of wusses. I just can’t get on board with digging their hole deeper instead of actually making progress to get out of it. Then to top all that off we were left completely hanging about Coyote, that’s not cool, IMO. I don’t mind things not being completely resolved but that was a touch much for me and too much like a cliffhanger.

So this one was a bit of a miss for me in this series.

But overall I still liked the story and I actually liked Charlie and Axel together at the end. The problem with that was it wasn’t until the end that I actually liked them together, it took way too long for anything to truly develop and then it was over. I will certainly be reading Steele’s book, I really like him, and I also really hope he ends up with Jane. Jane is by far my favorite female character in this whole series even though we only get a few scenes with her.

Axel Rollins had his life planned out. A girlfriend, a career and a future life far different from the one he grew up in. But his life never quite followed the path he dreamed of. Instead he found himself a member of the MC his deceased father once led, running the MC’s garage and single after being dumped by a woman that wanted more from her life. And now he finds himself flung into pole position, a place he isn't sure he wants to be, and leading when he doesn't know which direction to go.

Charlie Nash is a drifter. A life on the road and a father who taught her to be the best and most efficient thief, she is brilliant at what she does. But now she is on a different mission, one that will hopefully lead her to the man who killed the father she adored. What she doesn't count on is getting involved with the local MC; even if she is squatting in their motel. Charlie soon finds her place in Hell and she isn't so sure she will want to move on.

A common enemy and a common goal to take down Byron Beauregard. Will they ignore their growing attraction? Or will they be distracted, and fall into the traps of a man that prides himself on staying one step ahead?

It was a quick read but the romance in it was not exciting it did not pull you in.

Not much of a romance.
But an important read in order to follow the new leadership of the club and their dealings with Byron.

No real chemistry between the H and h.
But a logical developement of both characters.
The only thing missing was the spark that would have made the attraction between the two believable.

Glad I read it so I could keep up with the developement around the club.
But as a romance it was a huge miss.

Another hell of a ride!

This club never gets a break but these men always find good women! The stakes are even higher for the club and Axel is having a hellava time being the new president. In comes Charlie. She's a thief and a life by trade with her own secrets. Will she help axle find his way in his new position or will the craziness get in their way?

While I really love this author's style, characters and ability to tell a story. The violence is too much for me. I had to step away from the series, though nearly done. I really want to read about Voo, but there are just too many triggers for my PTSD.

This ended a little too easy for all the hiccups especially all the drug dealings. Maybe they are left for further books in the series but driving to the sunset should not have been there as an epilogue.

Book 6 in the Four Horseman MC series. This book does have a continuing club storyline and should therefore be read in the order it has been written.

Axel Rollins had his life planned out. A girlfriend, a career and a future life far different from the one he grew up in. But his life never quite followed the path he dreamt of.

I love the storyline that continues on throughout these books. It’s really strong and it means that although each book follows the ups and downs of a different member’s love life, you kind of just fall back into it and it pulls you in almost immediately. Each member is strong and well developed, so you feel like you are catching up with old friends and of course seeing how our previous couples are getting on.

This book, more than previous, very much answers lingering questions, particularly regarding Captain, and Axel’s promotion within the club. The storyline is also richer in the dramas of the club rather than focusing on the love story. I enjoyed this as the club story had really come to a pivotal point, but it does mean it doesn't explore Axel and Charlie as much as we have other couples which was a shame. I would have liked to know just a bit more about them and watch their relationship develop as it did with the others, but I did like them a lot. Axel had been determined not to involve a woman into the life he leads, but this left him lonely and now isolated due to his new responsibilities. Charlie is the perfect fit for him and his club, and stealing her innocence is so not an issue in this match-up.

Another great instalment to a story that continues to twist and turn as the pages are turned. The ending will certainly leave you wanting more, not just from Steele, but from various members and of course the kick-ass story that the author is weaving.

3 1/2 stars

This has been one of my most favorite MC series since I read book #1. They have all been awesome stories with fantastic characters that seem so real that you feel as though you are a part of their lives. Each book has lots of action, suspense, violence, grit and angst that you expect from a MC, tons of sexy bikers who aren't afraid to show their vulnerable side, strong women who are smart, beautiful, & loyal, plenty of sizzling hot sex that will leave you breathless, and great storylines that you'll be thinking about long after the last word. Exactly the kind of MC books I love!
This book is about Axel, the newly appointed president, and Charlie who is a grifter that had been squatting in the motel owned by the MC. After figuring out her real story, they form a slight truce and decide that working together will benefit them both in hopes of taking down a man they both despise. There's a lot of twists, danger and suspense that will keep you engaged and turning the page to see what happens next, a slow building romance between Axel and Charlie despite her propositions for a fling, you'll be laughing at their antics one minute and so frustrated the next you want to scream, which all make for a great read.
One of the reasons why I gave this 3 1/2 stars was the romance between Axel and Charlie was all over the place. The attraction was there for both but he held off, she constantly propositions him for a fling, he declared her off limits and his but then apologized for it, and much more of this throughout the book, but then they're together. I'm not sure what it was but it just seemed off somehow to me. Then the situation with Coyote, once it was done, it was mentioned once more briefly then not another word about it. This story doesn't exactly end in a cliffhanger, but that part was definitely left without any answers which made a huge impact on the story. Otherwise, this was a great read. I can't wait for the next book!
I definitely recommend this book and series to everyone who loves MC stories!

>Book Review – Hell on Wheels –

>I am an independent reviewer. This is the sixth book in the Four Horseman MC series and ends in an HEA. The MC’s president, Axel is the man fighting an attraction in this book. He finds a squatter and professional thief in the MC’s hotel. A woman named Charlie. He uses her to try and steal back some evidence a bad guy is holding over the entire MC, forcing them to delve back into unsavory business.
>Axel is an interesting character. He is actually one of the more straight shooter types in the MC. We also get to see old favorites and where they are in their lives. Charlie’s motivation is heartbreaking as is the realization that her father was killed on a whim. This story is another fun and exciting romance in this very cool MC.

> This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 5 stars. The way Axel fights to do the right thing in his personal life and with the MC is palpable.

Even though I have been a big fan of the series I could not quiet get behind this book. Now don't get me wrong I still liked it, but both Axel and Charlie started out as strong characters but for me they kinda fizzled a bit toward the end. It took forever for them to hook up and normally I like a bit of a drawn-out courtship but it just did not seem very realistic to me. Anyway since this is book 6 in the series I normally would say read the previous books first to get to know all the players better, but I honestly think you could read this one without being lost. I was also not crazy about the ending, we definitely don't know what happen to Coyote and nobody seemed worried about the missing product. Hope the next book has more kick to it. Can't wait.

I have loved this series from the beginning, but I have to say that I am really sick of Beauregard and I am liking this series less and less because of him and now also the Cartel. I feel it has gotten too out of hand and to me it makes the men of the MC look really stupid. I don't find it believable that these men would continually fall for and put up with Beauregard's crap. It's time to rid the MC of Beauregard and the Cartel. Also did not find the "love story" of Axel and Charlie believable at all. This book of the series was such a let down, especially after the love and passion between Shep and Pretty Boy in Hellbent. Really hoping the next one is better.

I have loved this whole series this book has a continuing story through it so it is better to read them in order.
There are glimpses in the prior books as some of this story runs parallel with the other books in the series it is just from another persons PoV. I liked both Axel and Charlie I would have liked a bit more depth from them both as I still feel I don't really know them all that well even after reading their book. Other characters in the series have been more expressive and more defined by the author. The story is good and has several twists and turns and the plotline can carry on to the next book in the series.

I loved the previous books of this serie, and had high hopes for Axel (God, love this name)...
Unfortunately Axel's character didn't live up to my hopes, I found him meek and indecisive. Charlie had more balls!! He almost gave me (and Charlie) some serious whiplash palying it hot and cold. Generally he lacked the characteristics I look for in an MC president, or maybe he'll grow a backbone in the future books, as he was just named?
Anyway, this will not deter me from reading the next in the series; Additionally there's a new serie (or spinoff), Dixie Mafia where we'll see more of Byron Beauregard. Well, that's a man!

Axel is the new president of the Four Horsemen MC and he finds Charlie squatting in the club's hotel and a few missing things. When he finds out the truth about being there, and they come to an understanding and start working together. Charlie's a master theif and she's very much attracted to Axel and they keep skirting around each other. But they're also dealing with Beauregard and the Mexican cartel. The sexual tension between the two was so thick and when they finally went there, it was wow. The brothers accepted Charlie pretty quick and like always had each other's backs and Axel tried his best to run his MC. And together they made an excellent couple.

A Good Slow Burn

When I selected this addition to such a fanatic series I was thinking this story should be worthy of being included.Well readers you will not be disappointed. When telling Axel's story you know it has to be a little heavy because of the position he's in from youth till adult. This was such a sweet sexy story and the writer gets it right.I really liked the fact that we got to concentrate on just on Axel and Char the building relationship and his being club president. This was well written and executed very well done.

I received this as an ARC. This is my honest review:
Another fantastic book in the Four Horseman MC series. There's nothing like a bad boy with a heart of gold. And Axel is definitely that. He's a gentleman with a rough exterior. Throw in Charlie, a thief and a liar, she's exactly what he thought he never wanted. This book was exciting and I was never sure what was going to happen next. It kept me on my toes! WHATEVER IS DONE FOR LOVE ALWAYS OCCURS BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL.

Loved this book

I loved this book, this is a great series. I can't wait for the villain to get his. The next book can't come soon enough. This book just couldn't put it down. This book proves two wrong may make right. I am very interested in the missing, drugs coyote and the fugitive, and former Marshal. The men of the horseman are hot but the ladies sure kick their own share of bell.
