“Let me build the rest of your life around a heart that knows how to stay.”
I knew going into Whiskey Ridge Lullaby that there were themes that might be difficult for me. It includes the loss of a parent and a child, two things that, for very personal reasons, are a bit tough to read about. But sometimes a book finds you when you need it most.
August 22, 2016, I lost a child. It is a grief I don't think I've ever truly allowed myself to face or heal from, and in so many ways, I saw that same avoidance in the FMC. That instinct to keep moving, keep surviving, and avoid the parts of yourself that hurt too much to touch.
Then came another loss. Her father. And in his final moments, he tells her he loves her. That absolutely broke me. I recently lost my grandmother, the woman who raised me. She had dementia, and before she stopped being her, before the disease took so much of the woman I knew and loved, the last thing she said to me was that she loved me.
So when I say this book hit me emotionally, I mean it hit me somewhere deep.
This story isn't just about love. It's about grief. It's about carrying the people we've lost with us. It's about what happens when you spend years trying not to break, only to realize that sometimes you have to completely fall apart before you can begin putting yourself back together. That sometimes all you have to do, is go home.
And then there is the romance. 🔥🤠 The smut? Excellent. The cowboy romance? Absolutely yes. This is one of my favorite tropes, and this book delivered on that front too. Give me the cowboy, the chemistry, the tension, and the heat, and I'm already sold.
But it was the heart of this story that will stay with me. The healing. The grief. The breaking. The falling apart. And, eventually, the realization that being broken doesn't mean you're destined to stay that way. “She'll ride with the ghosts behind her. But she'll ride forward. Because my girl was never made to stay broken. She was made to burn and build again.”

I had the pleasure of receiving this as an e-ARC and voluntarily will be giving my honest review. Wow just wow!! Hold on to your saddles you are in for a ride of your life!! You will feel very emotion possible!! This is a second chance cowboy romance with tragedy heart felt love!! I devoured this book it was definitely hard to put down!! Be prepared to have your heart recked but in a good way!! Chefs kiss!!

This book took me through so many emotions. When you saddle up for Whiskey Ridge Lullaby, make sure you have chocolate to comfort you, a frappé to soothe your soul, and a whole box of Kleenex because you are going to need all three for this journey. 😭🍫🥤
Heather-Christine Lynch and Jessica Wright gave me a story filled with cowboys, rodeos, small town vibes, heartbreak, loss, second chances, and, above all, healing and perseverance. But what really got me was the emotional depth of these characters. Their struggles felt raw, their pain felt real, and watching them try to find their way back to each other absolutely broke my heart.
At its core, this is a story about love that survives heartbreak, people trying to pick up the pieces after life knocks them down, and finding the strength to keep going even when everything seems lost.
And let me tell you… I cried. A LOT. 😭
There were moments when I wanted to hug these characters, moments when I wanted to scream at them, and moments when I simply had to put the book down for a minute and breathe. But despite all the heartbreak, there was also so much beauty in this story. The journey toward healing, forgiveness, and hope made every emotional punch worth it.
The cowboy and rodeo elements, the fight to save the ranch, the small town atmosphere, and the second chance romance all came together beautifully. 🤎

Jessica and Heather never disappoint. So, going in I knew I would love this book. I did not count on it hitting home and touching my soul. The POVs in this story are perfect. Without spoilers I’ll say, having the POV from HW is another level of love to the entirety of story. He shows love for his daughter, of course, but he she’s love for Remi and Mags, too. Reminding us that family is not always just blood and can be born in many ways. The love story of Remi and Ell is second chance, heartache, passion, and finding home again. The love story between family has your soul reaching. Emotions run high in this love story but the rawness of it all is what connects you to the struggle, the realness is what connects you to the characters, and the love (of all kinds) reels you in. This book now holds a special place for me. It reminded me that life is meant to be lived and we are meant to love! I love these ladies and thank them, yet again, for bringing us such raw love and energy. If you love a hot country boy, a strong-wiled and stubborn country girl, second chance romance then this is the book for you. Warning, you may get emotional from the jump on this one but it’s worth every minute!

I really enjoyed the storyline and the concept of the book! 🤠🤎 There was so much potential in the setup, and I especially loved that we got the father’s POV. That was such an unexpected addition, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the book. 🥹
That being said, I felt like there was a lack of build-up and tension. For a second-chance romance, I wanted more of that emotional push and pull and the longing, the unresolved feelings, the “are they actually going to find their way back to each other?” feeling. 😭
The romance felt like it was quick on the uptake, if that makes sense. 😂 I wanted a little more time for the feelings to develop and for the history between them to really simmer before everything came together. I enjoyed the story and definitely loved the concept, but I think a slower build would have made the romance hit so much harder for me. 💕 I still really appreciated the different POVs, especially getting the father’s perspective (specifically how it was done and what it meant)!

Whiskey Ridge Lullaby is a deeply emotional cowboy romance centered on love, family legacy, healing, and finding your way home. The story has so much heart, and the emotions come through strongly as the characters navigate their relationships, their pasts, and the ties that bind them to Whiskey Ridge.
I especially enjoyed the multiple points of view. Getting to experience the story through several characters added depth to the family dynamics and made the emotional moments feel even more meaningful. Each perspective brought something different to the story and helped create a fuller picture of the characters and their connections.
Although some parts resonated with me more than others, this was still a heartfelt and enjoyable read. Readers who love emotional cowboy romances, close family bonds, complicated relationships, and stories about home and legacy should give this one a try.

This book will have you n a whirlwind of emotions!!! from anger, sadness, grief, love, passion, happiness; just ALL THE FEELS!!!! The thing about this book is you don't see it coming until it hits you!!! RUN to read Remington and Eloise-Rea story is one you will not forget!!! I was blessed to be selected as and ARC reader, and I hope you fall in love like I did!! All the feels in a cowboy romance is one I didn't know I needed until I read Whiskey Ridge Lullaby!!!
Side note: Eloise-Rea daddy HW melted my heart and as a daughter who lost her daddy to cancer having the ability to know and understand their relation both the good days and the bad!!!

Reading about Elodie-Rae and Remington, and all the history they share, was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. But let me tell you what… watching them get their second chance made me SO happy. They finally got to become what they were always meant to be. 🥹

Whiskey Ridge Lullaby hits the ground running with a story that will make you feel all of the feels! You will be on the edge of your seat, while simultaneously needing some cocoa or some sort of comfort item with you the entire time! This story is heavy on the plot, trauma, and reality of living - while also focusing on healing old wounds, instead of leaving them to the slow passing of time. It is a well written, emotionally intelligent, and witty story that is about family and second chances and all the layers of patience, nuance, and frustration it can all come wrapped in! This is one you will not regret reading and it will likely leave you re-examining some important parts of your own life, as any good book should!

Thank you bunches 😊 to Christine Lynch & Jessica Wright for the ARC opportunity!! I fell in love 😍 with “Whiskey Ridge Lullaby” from the moment I started reading 📖. I didn’t want to put it down, but I also didn’t want it to end. It’s a beautifully written Cowboy 🤠 Romance that takes ya for a ride. Remi and Elodie-Rae’s love ❤️ story is unmatched. It’s a bittersweet read of loss, love ❤️, and peace ☮️. It can be heart breaking 💔, heart warming, and gut wrenching at times, but as Remi reminds Elodie-Rae “pain has become our love ❤️ story.”It’s through it all that they find each other again.

This story deals with grief and how it plays out in different people and their reactions to it. Personally, I struggled with connecting with the story and its main couple because they just kept going in circles and it was very wishywash. I liked their friends and found family though. Remington, the way he loves with everything he has, was sweet.
Overall there were moments that felt like the spice was taking over the plot and the characters made me frustrated so though it’s not for me, I can see why some may like it.

This is one of those romances that’s going to have you feeling the things. There are a lot of the hard parts of life that are tackled by the characters. I loved the tenacity of Mags and how she told it like it was. Remi and El faced a lot of challenges in their 15+ years of knowing and loving one another. This book started me out and sent me off with tears.

I loved every second of this story. It shows how the past is never really in the past and it can back to haunt you or save you. It’s a beautiful story of some many characters bonded though life, love and trauma. I seriously hope there will be another book to follow.

I’d rate it 4.5 stars because it has strong emotional drama, second-chance romance, family/ranch-life elements, and plenty of tension between the main characters. The story also has some heavier emotional moments, so it isn’t just a light romance.
