The start to a high fantasy trilogy featuring magical compasses, elemental magic, and rogue gods.

After fleeing her past life, Rose now lives on a secret island as a magical weapons master. Rose doesn't mind her life of solitude. After all, she's not truly alone with Arie, her shapeshifting companion, by her side. When the dangerous mist plague hits close to her village, Rose's simple life is disturbed. A handsome fae by the name of Luc is now desperate for her talent as a weapons master because he believes that her forged weapons are the only thing that can combat the mist plague. Knowing that her magic might be the only chance to stop the deadly force, Rose reluctantly agrees to accompany Luc back to the court's capital as his fake girlfriend. As the two look deeper into the plague, they begin to realize that more is amiss than they ever could have imagined.

I actually unknowingly started the sequel series to this one first, so now I'm playing a little bit of catch up. I absolutely adored "Bargains with Benefits" so I was excited to see what this series was all about. Being familiar with the magic system made it easy to dive into this world and I found it fascinating to learn more about the kingdom's lore. "Compass Points" is definitely more of a high fantasy adventure whereas "Fae by the Bay" is a cozy romantasy, but they are both great reads despite their differences.

Rose is definitely a character that is shrouded in mystery, and one must unravel her secrets as the story progressed. She's a strong-willed woman who is willing to fight for what she believes in. Her companion, Arie, is a menace to society. He is a devilish shapeshifter who disappears and reappears at a moment's notice. Luc seems to have just as many secrets as these two, but despite this, he makes a great addition to their group. Rose and Luc may not have met under the best circumstances, but they get past their differences rather quickly.

The fake dating element in this one is pretty peak. Luc ends up being a pretty prestigious member of the fae court, so they need a legit reason for Rose accompanying him that doesn't arouse suspicion. Of course, this leads to the two pretending to be together romantically, though their feelings become real soon enough. The fact that they are forced to share lodgings and a single bed definitely doesn't hurt in this situation either.

The magic system in this world is pretty neat. Each court is represented by the point on a compass, and each court has a ruler called a Compass Point. The four courts are referred to as: Norden, Suden, Vesten, and Osten. Norden (north) is home to the water fae. Osten (east) are made up of the wind fae. Suden (south) is where the earth fae reside. And finally, Vesten (west) houses the fire fae. Each point of the compass has their own magical specialty and worships a different god or goddess. The gods created the fae to watch over the world and to act as a check to keep the gods' power in balance. Some of the lore gets pretty deep, but the surface level concept itself is cool despite it not being the most original.

The mystery involving the shadow plague keeps this story rolling along smoothly. This element keeps an air of suspense present throughout the whole book and has me keen to figure out just what in the world is going on. I look forward to finding more answers in the coming books.

Overall, "Compass Points" is a great start to this fun fantasy mystery trilogy. I am intrigued to figure out just what is up with the mist plague and how much power the gods still have. Rose and Luc are fine protagonists to follow, and their fake dating scheme turned real romance is so fun. Seeing their romance bloom farther should be exciting. I have enjoyed Witt's writing and humor in the past, so I'm glad to see it's consistent across her series. I look forward to reading the next installment soon!

Audiobook Note: Kasi Hollowell did a great job with narrating this one! Her character voices aren't anything special, but I feel like they captured the specific characters nicely. I think young Rose was probably my favorite voice of hers. The audio quality seemed a tad off, but it wasn't enough to bother me after I original noted it. I will continue listening to her read book two on audio, so I think that means it passed my listening test.


“Tangled Power”: 🌟🌟🌟
The second installment in the romantasy series "Compass Points" that follows fae with elemental powers that are trying to stop a dangerous mist plague.

Now that the Compass Points know that there is a rogue god on the loose, the four fae are doing everything in their power to stop him. If they are to trap a being as powerful as an Earth god, the four Points are going to have to work together. Unfortunately, that is easier said than done. The four fae courts have never gotten along and the same goes for the Compass Points. Rose, Luc, Juliet, and Carter are now going on the journey of a lifetime in the hopes of uniting their elemental magic to subdue a god that has wreaked havoc on the continent for far too long.

This book certainly suffers quite a bit from book two in a trilogy disease. Most of this book follows the four Compass Points walking across the continent to get from one location from the next. As you can probably guess, this doesn't make for the most exciting story. However, I did really come to forge a deeper connection with all four of our main characters and learn quite a bit more about the magical lore of this continent, so it's an interesting enough read.

One of my favorite scenes from this book has to be when the four Compass Points come together to try to fix the giant hole that's on the cover of this book. The gritty details behind this massive hole are quite interesting and the work that the four have to do with one another to make the hole disappear is a great scene where they four finally learn how to start working together.

Rose and Luc are an established couple at the start of this book, so that's fun. I'm not the most invested in their relationship, but they do make a good pair. Rose is feisty and steadfast whereas Luc is protective and earnest; they compliment each other well. They have been through a ton together and care for each other a ton, so I approve regardless.

I wasn't exactly expecting the book to end the way that it did. For how slowly this book was paced, I was surprised at the showdown that happens at the very end. I wasn't expecting much of these events to happen until book three, so you can considered me surprised. I'm a little bummed out by the cheap strategy that was pulled at the end to create a conflict for book three, but that doesn't mean I'm not desperate to get my hands on the third book.

Luc gets his own PoVs in this book, which is pretty darn fun. Being inside of Luc's head gives a much fuller picture to this story, especially when Rose and Luc's relationship is concerned. I'm assuming this will persist through book three too, which is another thing I'm looking forward to.

Overall, "Tangled Power" is definitely the second book in the "Compass Points" trilogy. The pacing is rather slow and not a ton happens, but you are really given a chance to get to know Rose, Luc, Juliet, and Carter as they journey across the continent together. I also enjoyed learning more about the gods' history and the magic system they helped create. I may have been bored by this book a few times, but you can bet that I'm still very invested in this story and am quite curious to read its conclusion!

Audiobook Note: Kasi Hollowell returns as Rose and Michael Gallagher joins her as Luc. I think adding Luc's voice to this story made listening to it more interesting, as experiencing both voices side by side made for a more diverse listening experience. I feel Hollowell's performance was stronger in this book than in the first, and Gallagher's was strong right out the gate. I look forward to listening to the third audiobook in this series if I'm presented with the opportunity to!


“Bound Paths”: 🌟🌟🌟
Rose and Luc's story comes to an end in this romantic epic fantasy conclusion.

After Luc took a rogue god beyond the veil at the end of book two, Rose will do anything within her power to get her partner back and restore balance to the continent. She knows that she will have to combine the Compass Points' powers in a way nobody has dared tried before in order to trap a god for good.

It saddens me to say that this series would have functioned better as a duology. Personally, I thought that both books had a ton of boring details that I didn't really care to learn, so I think they could have been stronger if books two and three would have been merged. Beyond that though, I still think the magic system is really cool and I found most of the characters to be extremely likable.

I found it a bit annoying that we banished the MMC to another realm and dropped his PoV in this book, but at least Rose and Luc had a way of communicating with one another eventually. It's still a bit of an oof in a romantasy book though when the love interests literally aren't together for the entirety of the final installment.

One thing I immensely appreciated about this one is the fact that Juliette and Carter are major players and we get to know more about both of them. All four Compass Points are cool characters, and I thought it was fun that both Carter and Juliette had to use their unique abilities to conquer specific obstacles they encountered in this book.

The segments that were set 500 years in the past and followed Celeste and Andi were sooo boring to me. I feel all these segments could have been summarized in a journal entry that Rose can across in one of the libraries. I definitely would have rather had Luc's perspective remain rather than these historical tidbits that I couldn't bring myself to care about. They were so numerous I don't even want to think about what percentage of this book they actually took up.

The plot of this one was alright, though it got insanely repetitive after a while. Rose and the other Compass Points are searching for a way to trap a god and go into the realm of death in order to save Luc. They journey through the veil many times before they are actually successful with similar results occurring again and again. The process was certainly tedious at times, but at least the ending of this book wraps up this entire saga nicely.

Overall, I think "Bound Paths" have a ton of flaws but was still a decent read. It was hard for me to feign interest in many parts of this book though, especially the segments set in the ancient past. Rose and Luc have such a sweet bond, but they are unfortunately separated from one another for most of this book. Seeing the four Compass Points work in tandem to solve the issue of the imbalance on the continent was my favorite part, though I wish that this book would have differed more from book two. I fear I can't really warrant this book being a trilogy when books two and three felt so similar in plot, structure, and vibes. This series gives more lore into the world of the "Fae by the Bay" series, but I can't say that it's one I loved. I really think the characters are great and the magic system is stellar, but everything else is a bit subpar.

Audiobook Note: Kasi Hollowell is such a fantastic narrator! Their voice fits Rose so well, and I love the energy that they bring to this audiobook. They always sound jovial, but they can bring solemnity into their voice when needed. I'd love to hear more of their work in the future, because they do an amazing job of bringing a wide variety of characters to life!

Thanks to this omnibus edition, I'm caught up with all of Jillian's books, since I've read the spin-off series beforehand (and this makes me want to reread - both to understand it better and because I already miss the realm). I'm eagerly awaiting more to come from her, because she's created something very unique here.

Generally, I'd say the biggest pro of Witt's writing is its accessibility. She has a tendency to use easy-to-read language - perfect for beginner romantasy readers or someone who wants fantasy-themed escapism without the mental challenges its complicated lore often presents - while creating fascinating pieces story-wise. It's an amazing adventure that you're simply flying through without experiencing any metaphorical hurdles. It also manages to be both high stakes and cozy, so you're invested but not stressed out.

Before I go into other details, let me just preface by saying that I will be treating this edition as one book, not dividing it into the three novels its composed of. This is both because I want to avoid spoilers and because my notes concern all three books equally, since I've enjoyed - mostly - the same things about them.

Let's start by saying that the FMC - Rose - is a pleasure to follow. She's a badass woman with a kind heart who is forced to carry the weight of everything that's happening and handles it beautifully, remaining gentle but impervious to bullshit. She cares deeply about restoring the balance and people around her, even though she's experienced great pain and could've easily become bitter due to it. Without her as the protagonist, the book wouldn't be as strong as it is.

It's also worth mentioning that the side characters - of whom there's slowly more and more throughout the story - are to die for. I think especially in the second part of the trilogy, we get more focused on the found family of it all, and watching these people slowly opening up to each other after centuries of distrust is quite touching. The relationships are built step by step at a believable pace, and you can't help but root for them while being fascinated by the secrets that unravel.
For me, Arie was an especially enjoyable sidekick since I vaguely remember him appearing in one of the spin-offs, and I'm a sucker for a throwback (even though in my case it's more like a throwforward).

I think I've conveyed this sentiment already at the beginning, but I can't express enough how much I love the world-building here. The complexity and uniqueness of the lore is really interesting without being overwhelming. I kind of hope that the author continues to write novels placed in this realm since I adore it's magic system and politics - now more than ever. It's such a cozy place to spend your time in, and there's still so much unexplored potential - we've barely touched the surface here and I'm keen on diving in deeper.

At first, I thought that the writing would have trouble with pulling me in and keeping my attention, but I was hooked and locked in after the first couple chapters. There are some serious plot twists with well-matched pacing and just enough foreshadowing to piece things together by yourself in a satisfying way. All three parts are pretty solid on their own and have mostly separate issues to deal with - besides the big goal that's the main conflict of the series - and it's really interesting to see them differ so much from each other theme- and storytelling-wise. It's never boring with how the focus changes in each book.

While the romance is a big part of all three novels, it's not a center-stage thing, leaving space for the massiveness of the plot, and I think that's refreshing. It's still cute and develops in such a natural way - even if the timeline is short - that it's a nice ingredient in the mix, but I feel that the story would suffer if it was given more attention than it received.
That said, this is also a warning that if you're looking for romantasy in which the romance is front and center, and the plot is secondary, this is not for you. Here, what's happening with the realm is much more important, given much more space, and covered much more thoroughly.

When it comes to the underlying message, I think it's quite clear with the heavy focus on prejudice and being closed-off as not conducive to growth. The characters literally have to come together and combat centuries of grievances, and the FMC openly fights for equality and community amongst the courts, no matter your lineage or abilities. If you're moved by righting injustice, you will be moved by this. I think it's also very relevant in our political climate since people in power are trying to divide others in the hopes of making them smaller, less trusting, and generally less of a threat. It's another example of why it's important to open up and stand together against the evils that ultimately concern us all because we share the same planet.

The only thing that makes these books not completely 5 stars for me is the lack of trust that I will remember what's happening. There are a lot of repetitions of what's being done, what's at stake, how everyone is feeling in relation to that, and I think they are very unnecessary most of the time. Trust me to know what's going on, I don't need you to hold my hand this tightly.

I'd recommend this to anyone who's looking for a gripping but easy read, and especially for fantasy beginners in general or - more specifically - people who want to start reading fantasy in English instead of their native languages. It's a great entry point.

I started the stories a bit the other way around, Compass Points being the first series in the world, I read Fae by the Bay series first, but I'm really glad I was able to dive into Compass Points series too.

So so so happy I read this omnibus!! The story is so beautiful, so well written and Jillian has an amazing way of making the reader feel like being part of the story.

Book 1 - Compass Points
I love how unique the world is, from the compass points used to divide the fae, to our FMC, Rose, who has the power to forge weapons specially for whoever needs it by 'inspecting' and using their power to bind the weapon to the wearer.

Rose is living such a cozy life, hiding away from her old life, when Luc finds her and inquires about a weapon to be made for him. Even if he underestimates her, he soon starts to figure out she's so much more than what is visible.

They start working together to get rid of the mist that's spreading all over the land, and they start feeling drawn to each other.

I loved both of them so much! Rose is this breath of fresh air, trying to change things in the land and to make people understand it's much better when they work together.

And Luc? My sweet boy Luc, he's like so misunderstood, having such a big power and not being able to control it properly. When you don't even understand how big your power is or why it is so big and so different than other people's. It's just so sad for him. 🥹

Book 2 - Tangled Power

I loved how Rose keeps working with people and drawing them near her, making them understand it's better when they work together. She has a way of drawing people in. She's so steadfast in her belief and her actions speak volume.

I love how Rose and Luc's relationship grew in the second book, I could feel the tension between them and the need to be closer to one another.

The ending!! I was just so happy I didn't have to wait for the next book and I jumped right into it.

Book 3 - Bound Paths

In the third book, the points are even closer, they open up more and collaborate a lot better. Rose has really started to change things for the better.

Luc being on the other side of the veil is so baaadd. But I knew Rose would find a way to find and save him.

I'm really curious about Carter and the Lady of the Veil. Are there sparks coming from their interactions or is it just me? She seemed to avoid having high hopes he would be back to help her. I kind of need to know what's going on with them!! Hopefully there will be a novella about them?

I love how the series and the book ended. Luc finally got his peace with everything going on around him. Rose got her happily ever after at the lake, she no longer needs to hide who she is and they're working on including all types of fae into the normal world, with no exclusion of people that are different.

How great to see this series I love published as an omnibus, and with such a beautiful cover, too!

The three books in the Compass Points series are such great reads! I absolutely loved everything about them - the world-building, the characters, the writing-style and the plot.

Compass Points is an adult romantasy set in a world that was inspired by the United States National Parks, where fae and humans co-exist and faes are tasked with keeping the world in balance. I loved the creative take on the Fae courts that the author came up with, naming each court after a Compass Point and assigning magic accordingly. The world-building is done masterfully throughout the book, slowly unravelling the mystery in the story while learning more and more about this world.

The story begins when the reclusive weapons-master Rose (the FMC) meets the the mysterious Fae leader Luc (the MMC). Their adventure to fight back a magical, deadly mist had me hooked! They are accompanied by the most delightful shifter as a magical companion. Seriously, Arie was one of the highlights of the book for me - a powerful magical sidekick, but also Rose's found-family and a true expert at mental banter. Loved the way his relationship with Rose was explored and the fact he never let her getaway with anything when it came to her fake-relationship. Which brings me to Rose and Luc: they were so good together. The author's excellent writing brought these characters to life so beautifully, making them intriguing, endearing and rather funny. I kept highlighting lines that made me laugh but can't share them to avoid spoilers - such good banter! And their fake romance... is definitely an awful lot more romantic than it should be 👀

Overall, the Compass Points trilogy was a 3-star read for me, but there were definitely things I loved about this series, particularly the world-building, the characters, and the way everything ultimately came together.

The lore was probably my favorite part of the trilogy. I really enjoyed the way the cardinal directions were tied to elemental magic, and I loved how the world expanded in Bound Paths to include what lies beyond the veil. It gave the story a larger sense of mythology and made the world feel like there was still so much left to discover.

Rose and Luc were my favorite part of the series. I’m a sucker for a fated mates romance, and I really enjoyed their relationship. I also absolutely loved Arie, Rose’s animal companion, and the reveal about his connection to the gods was such a fun addition. And I have to say, I’m fully shipping Cassandra and Carter!

The trilogy definitely improved for me as it went along. I gave Compass Points 3.5 stars, Tangled Power 3 stars, and Bound Paths 4 stars. Compass Points had an exciting premise and a lot of elements I enjoyed, but the climax felt like it was resolved a little too easily for the buildup. Tangled Power was my least favorite of the three, primarily because the pacing felt slow at times. By the time I reached Bound Paths, though, I was fully invested in the world and characters, and I loved how the story wrapped up.

Despite some pacing and plot issues, I'm glad I stuck with the trilogy. The world-building kept me intrigued, the characters gave me plenty to root for, and the ending was satisfying. Fantasy romance readers who enjoy elemental magic, fated mates, and a larger mythology woven into their romance may want to give this series a try.

I’ve read Jillian’s other works (Fae by the Bay and Champions of Chaos) and while I really enjoyed those reads, I have to say I think the Compass Points trilogy is my favorite! Getting the chance to ARC this omnibus before its release was exciting and I absolutely fell in love with Rose.

Our FMC Rose has it all in my opinion. She’s bold, kind, and generous. She’s skilled when it comes to weapon making. And she is not without her imperfections, she may be a little brash at times but she has good intents. She carries a deep trauma but didn’t let it close her out from loving the folks around her from Tara to Arie and eventually Luc.

Following her journey as she reclaims her spot amongst the compass points was magical. The way she earned the trust of each leader by simply being herself and being honest to a fault was refreshing. She found a bound partner who for all purposes could be considered much stronger than her yet he’s humble enough to defer to her always for ideas and advice. We love an equal partnership built on respect. And she’s simply a spitfire, I enjoy her personality a lot.

The ending did leave me with questions about Carter’s future that I’m curious if we will get an answer to?

I absolutely love Jillian Witt’s Fae by the Bay series, partly because of the amazing magic system she has created. So, when I heard about the Compass Points Trilogy, I was really excited to dive deeper into that world and learn more about its magic. And thankfully, it did not disappoint!

One of my favorite things about this trilogy is the cast of characters. Of course, our FMC and MMC are great, but I also enjoyed watching the side characters develop throughout the books. Arie, Julliette, and Carter all get their own moments to grow, and by the end of the trilogy, I felt genuinely invested in them. I also really enjoyed the found-family aspect of the story. Watching these characters come together and form strong bonds was one of the highlights for me.

Jillian Witt also has a writing style that I really enjoy. Her books have a way of pulling me straight into the story, and I found myself getting immersed in the world and the characters very quickly. There is just something about her writing that makes the books easy and enjoyable to get lost in.

That said, I did have some issues with the pacing. For me, the trilogy was a bit too long, particularly books two and three. There were quite a few moments where things started to feel repetitive, and sometimes not enough was happening to keep me fully engaged.

I also preferred the balance between fantasy and romance in the first book, because it had a really good fantasy plot with a romance subplot. Unfortunately, by the final book, the balance had shifted much more toward the romance. While I enjoyed the romantic storyline, I really missed having a strong fantasy plot driving the story. I wanted more of the magic and fantasy elements that had initially drawn me into the series.

Despite those criticisms, I really enjoyed the Compass Points Trilogy overall. And after finishing it, I’m definitely looking forward to picking up another book by this author!

I absolutely love this trilogy. It is an amazing mix of fantasy, romance, spice, plot lines, plot twists and different personal characters.
While you get an epic romance plot with no 3rd act breakup, that doesn't mean they don't have many obstacles to overcome, we also get an awesome adventure and meddling gods plot.
The main heroine of the book is downright badass but also kind, good hearted and open. I want to be her or want her to be my best friend.
I instantly fell in love with our male love interest, I mean the first meetings alone? Sold! Their relationship is gold.
Ari is so funny and even if he has some flaws as a friend he is caring, hilarious and soft.
The other side characters of the book are really intriguing and I hope Carter gets his own books. His future story sounds so so good already.
The way Rose brought everyone together and not only wanted to change things but really did and how she did it was touching.
Grab the trilogy - as an ebook, book or audiobook and I really think you will love it ♡

Book 1 Compass Points
A fantastic beginning to a new trilogy by Jillian Witt. There is so much going on in this story and it grabbed me right from the the first page and I just kept turning pages til the very last. There is action, adventure, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, twists and turns and surprises you don't see coming. The two MC'S Rose and Luc are very well written with a lot of depth with room to grow. William's brilliant world weaves blends beautifully and magically throughout the story. Now on to the next book!

Book 2 Tangled Power
The second book is another fantastic follow-up from book one. Jillian Witt opens this story pretty much where the first book left off. The two MC'S, Rose and Luc, continue with there plans as Rose let it be known to Luc that she was actually the true Norden Point. Luc is the Suden Point. They work together to get the other two Compass Points to ally with them and their small group of allies expands. Rose and Luc's relationship flourishes. Again the characters are well written with even more depth as they work towards finding the imposter Norden Point. The world drags you into the story and keeps you glued. Jillian's world is top notch and once again weaves beautifully throughout the story. But that ending! Glad I get to move right on to the next book!

Book 3 Bound Paths
The final book in the Compass Points trilogy by Jillian Witt is incredibly captivating. The story picked up right where the cliff hanger ended in book 2. In this book Rose and Luc find themselves separated with Luc being caught behind the veil. This is where we find out more about the Lady of the Veil. Rose, Carter and Juliette work together and learn to trust each other more. We also learn more about their backgrounds. All the characters in this book are written with depth and I can see some side stories coming. The major thing you will find in this story is found family for Rose as they all come together to try to save Luc. The world intricately and beautifully weaves and blends throughout the book bringing the whole series together. I absolutely enjoyed this trilogy and I highly recommend it!

I always love getting lost in Witts fae worlds, although I started backwards by reading Fae by the Bay first! There's such whimsy and joy in her writing that it always makes her stories enjoyable and easy to follow.

It was incredibly interesting to read the backstory around the fae, the gods, & the compass points. It was fascinating! I really enjoyed how the story was centred around Rose and her journey from village recluse to one of the most powerful Fae on the continent.

This book is an omnibus of a previously released trilogy. I did think it would be edited to be one book instead of 3 separate books in one. For me, book 3 was the strongest; it was action-packed, and I couldn't put it down! I did need to take a little palate cleanser after book 2, as it felt a bit monotonous/fillery.

Witt's writing will always causemakeo be a must-read author for me, and I recommend these books to you all! Thank you for the ARC!

I didn't expect to love this as much as I did!! The world-building is fantastic and I loved the unique spin on fae, gods and magic! The Compass Points are kind of their own version of fae courts, and they share the world with humans.

Book 1 was a pretty slow burn, Rose is a strong and capable FMC and can stand on her own. She is refreshingly independent and I kind of adored her haha. Luc is our MMC, and he's a total cinnamon roll once you get through that crusty exterior! Their relationship felt natural and organic to me.

Somehow, the author was able to KEEP my interest through Books 2 and 3. That's soooo hard to do!! I'm actually about to go hunt down the spinoff and hope it's more of Cassandra's story, fingers crossed!!!

I really enjoyed this series! I have wanted to read it ever since I read the Fae by the Bay series, so I could learn the history of the world, so when I saw the omnibus of the series was coming out, I jumped on it! I loved watching Rose grow, and learn more about herself and her companions, Luc and Arie, and getting sucked into their world and their journey as they pretend to be in a relationship to research the mist plague. Of course, that fake relationship turns into something much more as they work through how to basically save the world!

I read the first 2 books from the "Fae by the Bay" that takes place in the same world as this series so I wanted to read it too.

Rose is a magical weapons master that lives in a remote village after leaving the fae courts.
Luc is a handsome fae leader that needs her help to save the continent from a dangerous mist plague.

They end up in a fake relationship, that turns into real feelings.

I love the magic system and the fact that each court has a different elemental power.
The rulers are called Compass Point and each court represents a point on the compass.

The deadly mist is a mystery and the Compass Points need to work together to stop it.
Throw-out the series, Rose and Luc become a couple, but there are some things that keep them apart.

I do not want to give any spoilers, but I had a great time with this story.

The audiobook is narrated by Kasi Hollowell and Michael Gallagher (only in the second book of the trilogy).
Kasi Hollowell did a great job narrating Rose and the other characters. She managed to keep me engaged with the story.
Michael Gallagher as Luc was a good addition and it made the listening experience even better.

Overall I liked the story a lot and I am glad that I had the opportunity of reading the complete trilogy.

Cozy read with beautiful world building and a storyline that draws you in. Characters that are real, with flaws that they can actually acknowledge and want to work on. The FMC and MMC find themselves in a relationship that seems to continuously grow and deepen organically, work past the obstacles in their way, and built on a foundation of friendship.
I loved being able to move straight from book to book in this version, no needing to buy multiple or having to exit in book and opening another, it truly allowed me to remain immersed within the story and continue with the adventure.

I loved having the complete series combined into one uninterrupted adventure without needing to switch between separate books.

I cannot say enough good things about this series. Jillian Witt brings a breath of fresh air to the cozy fantasy vibe by writing mature and emotionally intelligent characters. The author explores partnership, sacrifice, responsibility and the difference between leadership that values the greater good over power. I loved the characters, the pacing, the world building - ALL OF IT. The narrators did such a great job on the audiobook as well. If you are looking for a wonderful read or listen that will keep you engaged, but not confuse you with a million twists and turns, look no further.

This was a fun, high stakes fantasy. Since the plot is saving the world, I don't think I'd call it 'cozy,' but it didn't have a dark story like many fantasies do. There is humor, romance, found family, friends, and good world building. The plot arc of the 2nd book did surprise me, it went in a direction I wasn't expecting. I was very happy with the turn, and it made me more excited for book 3. The 3rd was a little slow in places, but overall a good series. The ending was a cozy, warm romance hug.

The world-building and magic system is so fun and I loved getting peaks of the past in little snippets that left me wanting to learn more and how it impacted them now.
